Welcome back to The Life Channel. I am so excited to see where this story is going. I already have plans for the sequel that will take place after The Signers vs Dark Signers Arc. To give you a small teaser, The title of the next Series after this will be "Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's The Dark Universe". But that will be in a very long while.
Anywho, this chapter is the longest one I have done for this story and it did stress me out because I couldn't find a good point to leave it at. I didn't want to go 10,000+ words. So without further ado, I present the next chapter. I hope you enjoy the epicness that I felt when I wrote this!
Note: Italics and underline is the conversation in mind between Kevin and Luna. Italics by themselves are the character's thoughts.

Chapter 14- Protect and Destroy
"Pain sometimes means nothing to protect the ones you care about the most."
Kevin's POV
Me and Luna are walking in the hallway hand-in-hand on our way to Goodwin. I am really hoping Goodwin gives me something... I tell my girlfriend. I feel her squeeze my hand.
He will. Just keep believing, She tells me. Have you gotten any other memories lately? I nod and tell her the memories I got from Akiza in her duel against Commander Koda.
Luna nods. I wonder what went wrong since you three aren't together anymore.
"Yeah... " I say in agreement as we arrive at the entrance where two guards stand. I am about to ask for Goodwin when both of the guards move to the side. "Hum… Cool, thanks."
Inside, we just find Goodwin. Oh, I wonder where Jack is, Luna says to me. I shrug.
"Kevin, Luna. Amazing duel against Yusei," Goodwin compliments. We both say our thanks. "What can I do for you two?"
"We beat Yusei," I remind him. "So your part of the deal."
He frowns, but nods. "I found out where you came from." I raise my eyebrows in much anticipation. "You come from a place called 'Crashtown'."
At that, I close my eyes and begin to get memories. I remember two kids. I see a browned-skin black-hair girl wearing a pink with a white dress and a small brown skin black hair boy with a black shirt, a green sleeveless vest over it, and blue pants. We are in a broken wooden house. The roof is gone, windows are missing, and there is no furniture anywhere. But, I remember being with them and we were together. We were not alone and we had each other to move forward. We were happy. "Crashtown… I know that place."
I feel Luna slightly squeeze my hand in reassurance and I smile.
"I was also able to get hold of Luna's parents," Goodwin continues. "Unfortunately, they won't be able to come anytime soon and they also told me that they haven't heard of your parents in a long time."
"We should go," Luna suggests.
"I got my investigators searching there for answers as we speak," he says.
"I am sorry about my parents, Kevin," Luna apologies. I give her a soft smile.
"If they knew, they would have come."
"Don't worry," Goodwin adds, "We will get some answers soon. In the meantime, focus on your next match. It might help you. Am I to assume you will also participate, Luna?"
She nods. "Yes, I will stand by his side to support him."
Goodwin smiles. "I thought so. Tell me, was that Junk card the card that we gave you?"
With a straight face, I decide to give him his expected answer, "Yes." I notice Luna looking at me with her raised eyebrows.
"I see, interesting," he seems lost in thought for a bit.
"Any ideas what those are?" I then decide to ask, pulling up my sleeve to show him my mark.
"That is also being looked at as we speak. I suspect it is as crucial as it is even for Yusei, Akiza, and Jack," he says.
"This is not just about facing Jack Atlas, isn't it?" I question. There is more going on here.
Goodwin smiles. "You're a smart kid, aren't you? There is a much greater threat we all will have to face. We will need all the help we can get, including yours and Luna's."
I nod. "We will keep in touch then."
On the way back to the break room, Luna asks, Why did you lie to him, Kevin?
I shrug and decide to answer her out loud... "I'm not sure. I think he is expecting us to unlock some hidden power. If so, I don't trust him with that knowledge. I don't want him knowing about something like that."
She nods understanding. "Do you think he's keeping something from you, of your past or parents, I mean?"
I shrug again. "I hope not. If he is, he will pay dearly."
Without paying attention, I accidentally bump into someone. "Oh, sorry. I-" It's Akiza. Without meaning to, my hand goes over to my mark and I feel it a bit uncomfortable.
She doesn't say anything with that emotionless expression of hers. For a second, I noticed something like sadness, but mostly confusion. Before I can do or say anything, she leaves. "Akiza," I whisper. I turn to Luna and notice her frown. She holds out her arm. "You okay? Does it hurt too?"
She nods but gives me a heartwarming smile. "When I look at her, it's like I can sense her pain. She seems so sad."
"She also seems confused. I'm not sure why, but I think she doesn't quite remember me, "I say with a frown.
"Yet," my girlfriend adds. "The next duel will help both of you out. I'm sure of it."
A short while later after we arrive at the break room, we take a seat on the couch. We spend a few minutes in silence, watching the screen on the wall waiting for our friends to return.
"You know what I just realized Luna?" I ask her.
"Yeah?" She answers looking from the screen to me.
"We didn't even use the card Goodwin gave us in the match against Yusei."
"Hmm. Yeah, that is probably a good thing," she says.
"Oh, why so?" I ask, curiously.
She shrugs. "Well besides the fact that it's blank, Goodwin is the one who gave it to us. Just like Yusei, I don't trust him."
I nod, agreeing. "Well, let's just hope we don't have to use it anytime soon. Hopefully, we can defeat Akiza with Junk Blue Delta Dragon."
"We will," Luna reassures me and she gets my hand. She squeezes it a bit for comfort. I smile at her and squeeze back.
Yusei enters the room and he smiles at us. "Hey, guys. You two really like to be affectionate towards one another. You're gonna give others the idea that you are together."
Luna laughs and I grin. "We are, Yusei."
He raises his eyebrows. "Oh, I see. Well, I got you two some Cinnadragon White Buns." He offers a bag and I take it.
"Yes!" Luna exclaims. "I am a bit hungry."
"What are they?" I ask looking inside.
"Oh, you are going to love them, Kevin. They are White Sweet buns covered in blue frosting. "
I nod, taking one from the bag and I give Luna the other one. I examine the treat and smell it. It smells delicious.
She nods and I see her already munching on her bun. It is delicious. Hmmm.
I smile and take a bite. My mouth explodes with deliciousness and a sweet taste that melts inside my mouth. I never tasted anything so damn good. "Wow."
"I know right," Luna agrees, already halfway done with the bun."Thank you, Yusei."
I thank him too and he smiles. "No problem. I gotta keep you two fed for the next match. How are you guys feeling about it?"
"A bit scared," Luna says as she finishes up her bun.
You are?
She nods, giving me a soft smile. "I saw what she did to Commander Koda."
I nod. "You can still back down."
She shakes her head. "No. We will face her together. We already decided."
"But I don't want you getting hurt. And I won't let that happen."
"I know because I will have you there protecting me," she points out.
I give out a small chuckle. "Of course, I will."
She smiles. "And I want to be there to support you for when you get your memories of her."
I look at Yusei for his opinion on the matter. He smiles at me. "Akiza is not a witch. She just needs support. Good support from friends"
"Yeah, Luna and I will show her that and support her all the way. I want my friend back," I say with confidence.
"Just be careful, you two." Luna and I nod. "Did you remember anything else from her?" I tell Yusei of some of my past memories of her because of her duel with Koda.
"I find it strange that she didn't say anything to you that time in the hallway," Yusei points out.
"She probably doesn't exactly remember Kevin," Luna explains.
"What if her memories of me are being blocked or something?" I ask with worry.
"Possible," Yusei agrees. "At the end of this duel, you both will know some of your past together."
"And hopefully more of yours, Kevin," Luna adds, squeezing my hand again. I smile in reassurance. Just then, Yanagi, Dexter, and Tanner enter the room with drinks and snacks.
"Dang it," Dexter complains. "They ran out of the Cinnadragon White Buns. We wanted to bring you guys some, but they told us they just ran out. You would have loved them, Kevin. They're so delicious, right Luna?"
She smiles softly. "It's okay. Yusei brought us some."
"Oh, lucky!"
"They always run out of those at this time in the day," Tanner adds.
"Lucky you two got Yusei looking out for ya," Yanagi points out. Luna and I nod, smiling at him. The three of them take a seat by the table in the corner and they begin to eat their food.
A while later, Tanner asks, "How are you two feeling about the next match? You guys ready?" Luna and I squeeze our entwined fingers
We should not worry them, Luna tells me.
It's okay to tell them, Luna. We need all the support we can get, I remind her.
That is true. Either way, as long as we got each other. It'll be okay.
"We are ready as we can be," I tell Tanner with a smile. "I am scared-"
"We both are," Luna adds with another hand squeeze in reassurance.
"But we got to stay positive in hopes to find answers between us."
Tanner nods and he looks at Yusei. "I don't like this one bit, Yusei."
He nods. "I know, but Kevin says he can get to her. Help her and support her. I believe he and Luna can." He then tells them what I already told him.
"Wait Kevin, you also have powers?" Yanagi asks with raised eyebrows.
I shrug, unsure. "Maybe, I have memories of destroying a room, but I don't know how I did it or how to make them work at the moment."
"Any ideas, Grandpa?" Tanner asks him.
He shakes his head without a word.
"Actually, I did some research last night and with the help of my parents- Your marks, Kevin's and Luna's, look like these drawings in this fairy tale called 'Spirit of White Hope'." He explains a bit before Yanagi interrupts.
"Oh yes, I remember something about that. It's part of The Crimson Dragon; a myth that was lost long, long ago. I don't exactly know how it goes, but this fairy tale had a white creature who protected a kingdom called 'Spiritus'. She was in a battle against an Evil King. Eventually, she was able to beat him, but that cost her her life. But before she could pass to another life, she gave the King and Queen marks of protection and love."
Luna and I roll up our sleeves to look at our arms where our marks are.
"One day, they had a beautiful daughter with beautiful blue stunning hair."
Princess Eclipse, I say to Luna with confidence.
"The kingdom treated her as a gift from their lost White Protector. She would one day rule the kingdom after her father and mother. But then one day, her parents go missing and the Evil King strikes once again," Yanagi says.
"It's just like the Spirit World," Luna tells us.
"The Spirit World?" Dexter questions in confusion. My girlfriend nods.
"So it's real?" Tanner asks. Luna and I nod again. We explain what we faced against The Professor. I also showed them my "Princess" cards.
"Woah… It's really real then," Dexter confirms in excitement.
"This might also sound weird, but Princess Eclipse also called me daddy before I left Spiritus," I tell them.
"Oh! Then that must mean you two are the missing King and Queen!" Yanagi tells us.
"That could also explain the marks you to have," Yusei adds in agreement.
We are the lost King and Queen... I repeat and turn to Luna. I see her blushing like mad.
"Luna?" I ask, a bit concerned. She quickly shakes her head and turns to our friends.
"What else do you know about that?"
Yanagi thinks for a second and then gasps. "There is a prophecy. I just don't remember it exactly."
"Maybe Goodwin can help you guys figure that out," Tanner suggests.
I shrug. "He said he had investigators looking into that."
"Well, just keep your eyes in alert with him," Yusei reminds us, and both Luna and I nod in agreement.
No One's POV
Location: White Space
White is sitting on her throne chair with an unconscious Leo floating on a white platform. Blue then appears in front of them. He's panting hard. "I don't know how but The Evil King is now Chaos and in turn, he is also Black."
"I know," White says in a simple tone.
"He has regained his powers," Blue points out.
" I know," She repeats.
"This might be a problem."
" I know!" She exclaims. Blue raises his eyebrows a bit surprised for White's Outburst.
"White, are you stressed?" He asks.
"You and Black are making a tendency now to do just that to me."
He laughs. "Oh, but Black doesn't know what he is doing. Don't worry, White."
"Oh, and you do Blue?"
He smirks. "Of course."
"Black almost took our heroes' girlfriend's brother. That could have ruined everything we have been building towards."
"Yes, but we got there in time," he argues.
"We?"
Blue rolls his eyes. "I meant you… You really don't trust me, White?"
"It's not just about trust, Blue. It's about perfection. For a reason, I chose you and I want to keep believing that I made a perfect choice, but you are really giving us more mysterious curves, twists, and turns than we don't really need or want."
"We don't, but Orange already knows the future… And you already know the overall outcome so there is no need to worry." In between them, Leo begins to mumble "Luna, Luna." Softly, and then, "Green…" White sighs.
"It's best that we return him back to them."
"Now? No!" Blue exclaims quickly.
With eyebrows raised, White says, "Remember Blue, you are in my domain…"
He sighs. "He's not ready White. Green has to train him more."
"For what exactly?" She questions.
"Well, now that the signers are one signer down, they will need another hand in the upcoming battles."
"Oh, yes. I am aware of that, but from you, I need the real reason."
He smiles. "That is the real reason. With him becoming a better duelist, the Crimson Dragon will see that he is worth much earlier than the other timeline."
White grins at his reasoning. "I see... Of course, but in the meantime, I want him safe with his sister and our hero."
Blue nods. "Very well, then. I will let Green know.
Outside of the stadium in a parking space sit two long vehicles where The Arcadia Movement resides. Outside the vehicle stand multiple young people as guards. Inside one of them is a restless Akiza, who lays in a water-filled chamber. Above her is a clear screen that also surrounds her sides. Suddenly, Sayer appears in front of her.
"Akiza, about earlier," he begins quickly. "Look, it's just, we exposed the movement by coming to this tournament and people will want to know more. We knew that risk going into this. In fact, certain individuals might continue to approach you and try to pry information from you."
"Okay," she says calmly. "But I can speak for myself. I don't need you to babysit me or anything, Sayer. I'm not going to betray the movement if that is what you are worried about. You guys are like my family now. No one could make me turn against all of you…" She pauses and looks at Sayer. He smiles.
"I'm so relieved to hear you say that. Goodwin and his people are part of the order of Lliaster," he explains. "A group seeking to resurrect a force known as The Crimson Dragon. If allowed to return, the dragon would bring the world to its knees. That is where we come in. He who rules the sky has given the members of The Arcadia Movement special powers. We are his chosen. We will stop Goodwin and lead the world down the right path."
"Sounds like a good time," Akiza answers.
"Yes, well, speaking of time, it's almost time for your duel against Kevin and Luna."
At that, Akiza frowns and she feels a strange discomfort in her arm where her mark is. "They might be members of Lliaster. We're not sure yet. Either way, it is crucial that you defeat them. Once you get through the 'dream-team couple, you can bring Jack Atlas to his knees, and then the crowd's jeers will change to cheers, and our time will finally come." Akiza is about to let him continue, but for some reason, she decides to interrupt him. "You're ready-"
"What do you know about the kid, Kevin?" She questions.
At that, he raises his eyebrows and for a split second, she sees fear and uncertainty. He quickly recovers and answers. "We don't know much about him. We have not been able to get much information based on his duels and who he is. But he is seen to hang around a lot with that little girl and that satellite."
Akiza huffs. She then frowns, remembering that time she met Yusei. He also has that hideous mark just like her. Just like they do; that kid, Kevin, and that little girl, Luna, also have marks. When she crossed paths with Kevin, her mind had played tricks on her. She somewhat remembered something from her past. There was a little boy scared and cuddled up in a corner. The surrounding area was destroyed with cracked walls and a few holes in the broken ceiling. Somehow, the whole building had not come tumbling down, but that was that last thing on her mind that day. She can't seem to remember anything else, and it frustrates her. She knows she has a past with Kevin and Sayer is somehow involved too. Is he hiding something or is she just about to crack with the pressure of everything that is going on around her?
"Don't worry about him," Sayer says, pulling her away from her thoughts. "He's not important to our cause. Just focus on beating him and that girl."
That girl. Akiza thinks. Luna. She has seen how close Kevin is to that girl. It seems that he cares about her a lot. He was there in that duel against The Professor. She knows Sayer is wrong. Goodwin decided to include them both in this tournament and to have two kids participate when a witch is participating too, she knows there's more to this tournament and Kevin.
"You're ready, aren't you?" He asks.
Akiza decides to nod and not question the matter this time. "Of course." Sayer nods and his face disappears on the screen. Maybe soon I will be able to get rid of this terrible curse I possess. She remembers that duel she once had as a little girl against her father. He went flying across the living room and crashed into the wall with so much force. In those moments, she first feared that she hurt her father so badly. Her mother was there with a scared expression and her mark glowed so brightly even back then.
Why did this mark choose me? What did I do to deserve it? She gasps realizing that Kevin and Luna must also be facing what she is facing. If they possess a mark as I and Yusei do, could they also possess physical powers like me? She raises her eyebrows. And if they do, why hasn't Sayer gone to them? Or has he already and they turned him down? Akiza sighs and decides to push those thoughts of questions and doubts for the time being. Her next duel will surely bring a lot of answers.
Fireworks explode above the sky as people young and old go back to their seats. Up in the tower, Director Goodwin is standing watching the crowd below. Lazar is with him. "I tried to bring the girl to you, Director, but that Arcadia bunch wouldn't let her out of their sights. They may prove to be a problem down the road."
"Hmph… I'm not worried about those deluded fools," Goodwin tells him. "It's not like they have very much influence. Still-' He turns to look at Jack, who is sitting on a couch behind them. "They managed to make her their puppet. The situation is ironic if you think about it." In front of him, a holographic screen appears of Akiza being led by two young boys of the Arcadia Movement. "The Black Rose is a member of The Arcadia Movement. The Arcadia Movement opposes us. And yet, she's going to do us a favor." Another holographic screen appears in front of Goodwin. This one contains information and numbers of some kind. "According to ZigZix's readings, she is more than capable of getting Kevin and Luna to reveal their true powers. That being said, I do hope the dream-team couple wins this match."
He then turns back to Lazar as the holographic screen in front of him vanishes. " I want to see it, don't you Lazar? Don't you want to see Jack's Red Dragon Archfiend clash with Kevin's Junk Blue Delta Dragon? I want to witness the energy such a clash creates. I want to feel the power of two legends come alive."
Jack chuckles. "Huh. I'll make you feel so much power, you won't be able to handle it." He then turns to look off to the side to think. Kevin. You may think you are an incredible duelist… But this Black Rose has a power, unlike anything you've ever encountered. Show me you are worth something to me now that you have beaten Yusei. I want to see Goodwin's face when I use the dragon's power for myself.
A short while later, the stadium lights dimmer down, and The Announcer steps on a bench with his mic in hand. "Yeah!" He begins, exclaiming. "It's finally time for the final! The Winner of this next match gets to go on to the ultimate showdown… A one-on-one or two-on-one, if it permits, no-holds-barred duel with the master of faster himself- Jack Atlas!" The huge holographic sphere on top of the towers shows a Jack Atlas picture being engulfed in flames which begins to turn to a picture of Akiza. "Our first finalist is the mysterious Black Rose- Akiza!"
Below where the dueling area is, smoke shoots from the floor which then reveals an ascending Akiza who comes from the floor below. The crowd begins to boo.
"Go home, Witch!" Someone from the crowd yells.
"You're gonna lose, you freak!"
At that moment, The Announcer continues, "Challenging her is the dream-team couple-who has won the hearts of everyone in this stadium, including me, of course; Kevin and Luna!" Above in the sphere, the picture changes from Akiza to Kevin and Luna holding hands. The crowd cheers and below, smoke rises to reveal Kevin and Luna side-by-side with big smiles on their faces.
"Come on, Kevin. Luna!" Dexter yells in the stands from his seat. "You guys can do it!"
"This'll be exciting!" Yanagi quips.
"Be careful, you two. Very careful," Tanner adds a bit worried.
Back at the bottom, Luna's spirit friend appears beside her. Kuribon. So you are scared too? At that moment, the spirit of Blade Knight appears besides Kevin. Something bad is going to happen isn't it? He asks him and he simply nods with a huff.
In the shadows in one of the hallways overlooking the dueling area below stands a mysterious Sayer. Akiza, this is our moment. Seize this opportunity and introduce the world to the true power of The Arcadia Movement. Don't let yourself get distracted by that useless boy. He tried to stop us once before, but he will never do it again.
The Announcer continues, "Every card has let us to this moment. The final round of The Fortune Cup is about to begin!"
Ready, Luna. Kevin asks his girlfriend as he readies his duel disk.
As ready as I'll ever be, She says confidently as she also readies herself.
"Let's duel!" Akiza, Kevin, and Luna exclaim.
Kevin's POV [Akiza vs Kevin/Luna]
(4000 vs 4000 vs 4000)
All of us draw our 5 cards and I look at my first set of cards with confidence. Nice.
"First move is mine," Akiza declares and she draws from her deck. "I draw. I summon Wall of Ivy in defense mode." A spiky green bush appears on her side of the field with 1200 defense points. "Next I play two cards face down and I end my turn."
We should play it slow for now, I tell Luna.
Yeah, She says, agreeing.
"I draw." I get my 6th card and play my ace. "I summon Speed Warrior in attack mode." A grey-suited man with thrusters on his back and a breathing helmet on his head, which connects to its chest, appears with 900 attack points. "On the turn, it is summoned, his attack points double." His attack increases to 1800. "Go Speed Warrior, attack her Wall of Ivy!" My warrior begins its sprint to Akiza's monster.
"You had better be careful Kevin, because when my Wall of Ivy is destroyed, one of my Ivy Tokens take root on your side of the field," Akiza explains as Speed Warrior approaches his target. He gets on his hands and spins with his legs up high. He smacks into Akiza's Wall of Ivy and it shatters in an explosion. Speed Warrior returns to my field and an Ivy Token materializes in front of me.
"We've seen the Black Rose use this strategy before… It really created problems for Commander Koda and Sir Ransborg," The Announcer points out. "What kind of havoc will she wreck on the dream team couple this time?"
I don't like this, Luna tells me. I nod.
"These could be a problem," I agree. Nonetheless, I want to see what motivates her. "I place one card face down and that's it for now." I look at Akiza. "It's your move."
"You're too kind," she simply says and she draws from her deck. "Now, then! Remember, that last round when I summoned my Wall of Ivy only to have you tear it down with your Speed Warrior?" She then plays a trap card. "Well, I'm playing The Cursed Ivy trap card to bring my Wall of Ivy back." Brown roots shoot out of her trap card and make their way to Akiza's duel disk. They go through it and then, it makes its way to the floor where it grabs Akiza's monster from the void. Her spiky green bush reappears in front of her.
She's trying to increase the number of Ivy tokens on our side of the field, Kevin, Luna warns me. When they get destroyed, we'll take 300 points of damage for each one.
Yeah. I got nothing right now to stop those little plants. I tell her. She nods and prepares to draw.
Hopefully, I do, "I draw!" Luna exclaims and she looks at her hand. Oh. What's this?
I raise my eyebrows and look at my girlfriend, confused and a bit worried. What's wrong?
I drew "Princess Eyes of Time." Isn't this yours? She asks.
Oh, it must have been messed up with your cards when we were preparing. I point out. She nods as she looks at the card.
Should I-
"Are you two going to keep looking at each other for the rest of the duel or are you going to duel, Luna?" Akiza interrupts our thoughts.
"The dream team couple are looking at each other for support," The Announcer comments. "How sweet." The crowd awes.
I smile and see Luna blush. Play it, Luna.
Are you sure? She asks.
I nod and she gives me a heartwarming smile, nodding back. "I activate The Spell card 'Princess Eyes of Time'." The card appears in front of her and glows. "By sending a material from my field to the graveyard, I can special summon a synchro monster. I send Speed Warrior to the graveyard." It disappears. " And I special Summon QuickFlash Warrior!" My upgraded Speed Warrior appears with 1800 Attack and defense points. "Now go, attack her Wall of Ivy once again!" QuickFlash Warrior shoots out to the sky and descends back to the ground with one leg pointed at Akiza's monster. It turns its body to do a spin attack upside down and smacks the plant-type monster. It shatters and just like the last turn, another Ivy Token appears on our side of the field.
"By destroying my Wall of Ivy, you've also taken out the Cursed Ivy trap card. And when my Cursed Ivy is sent to the graveyard, it summons two more Ivy Token to your side of the field," Akiza explains.
"Oh, no," Luna says softly. Our field is now full.
"You got anything else for me, Luna?" Akiza asks her. She shakes her head. "That's disappointing. I draw."
Akiza grabs another card from her hand and activates it. "And from my hand-I'm activating 'The Seed of Deception' spell card. So with the power of this spell card, I summon out 'Dark Verger' in attack mode." A plant with two stems and eyes on each one of them appears with 0 attack points. "But now, I'm going to do a little landscaping to make room for something stronger. Ha! I advanced summon 'Rose Tentacle' in attack mode!" A huge Rose with red eyes and various tentacles as spiky vines appear with 2200 attack points. "The best thing about Roses is that their thorns are dangerous as their petals are beautiful. And you, Luna, are about to experience that firsthand Go, Rose Retaliation!"
She holds out her hand in attack and her monster's vines travel to QuickFlash Warrior. They wrap around our monster and begin to crush it. It explodes and creates a huge shockwave that sends dangerous winds around the whole stadium.
We groan as we try to withstand her fierce attack.
[Luna's LP: 3600]
"You okay, Luna?" I ask her and go to her side in worry. She's breathing heavy, but she smiles at me and nods.
"Yeah, I'm good. That was powerful though."
"Luna only took 400 points of damage from that attack, but I got a feeling The Black Rose's strategy is about to blossom into something far more terrifying," The Announcer tells the crowd.
I frown, understanding, and turn to Akiza. This is bad.
"That attack was just the beginning, so get ready for my Rose Tentacles' special ability to squeeze you into submission. Now, Luna takes damage for the four Ivy Tokens on your field!"
"No." So that must mean she is going to attack Luna four times!
"This might hurt," Akiza says.
"I won't let you hurt, Luna! I play my facedown trap card, 'Princess Protection'," I call.
*Introducing "Princess Protection" Trap card. When a player will take battle damage, you can redirect the damage to another player. You can't target a player which will cause their life points to be reduced to 0.
"This card prevents you from laying a hand on Luna!" I exclaim. The crowd awes again.
"Kevin…" I hear Luna say softly beside me as the trap card shots a blue bubble towards Luna. It engulfs her.
"Oh…" Akiza says, suddenly lost in thought. Her expression suddenly turns dark and she shakes her head. "Fine. Even if she won't take any damage, you will, Kevin. I don't understand why you will waste a card to help her out when you can't even save yourself. She will just get in your way. This is the part of the battle that I enjoy the most. Because now, I get to watch the power of my Rose Tentacles and Ivy Tokens bleed your life points dry!"
"Incredible," The Announcer comments. "Akiza has managed to plant 4 Ivy Token to The dream-team couple's side of the field which means she can unleash a quadruple dose of destruction. Lucky for Luna, Kevin has managed to redirect all her attacks to him. Her knight in shining armor will take all the damage for her. Will he be able to withstand 600 points of damage for each attack?"
At that moment, I see some of the crowd behind us begin to disperse. "Woah, it looks like the fans are running for the exits, and who can blame them. Especially after witnessing The Black Rose's destructive powers in her last two duels. I wouldn't want to be in Kevin's shoes right now."
This is gonna hurt, isn't it? I chuckle mostly to myself and begin to prepare.
"Let's see if people keep picking on me after this!" Akiza exclaims, raising up her hand. "Get ready, Kevin!" A spiky tentacle attacks and pierces right through one of the Ivy Tokens. It shatters and causes a huge wind wave that shakes the whole stadium. I groan and stand my ground as I watch people take cover behind their seats. The tentacle then heads to me and grabs my right arm. I groan again as I feel the pain surge through my arm.
[Kevin's LP: 3400]
"Here's one more. Attack!" Akiza declares as her fingers point to another one of my monsters. Another tentacle shatters another token and it grabs my left leg. I groan feeling the pain once more.
[Kevin's LP: 2800]
I'm sorry, Kevin. I hear Luna apologize. I turn to look at her and offer her a genuine smile.
"It's okay, Luna. I reassure her.
If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have to endure the pain, She says. I can hear the sad and worried sweet voice from her.
Hey, I promised I would protect you, Luna, and that's what I will do no matter what I have to endure. You mean a lot to me and no pain will break me to fail that promise to you.
"You're not giving in yet?" Akiza then asks me. I stay quiet and she continues. "Well… maybe this will change your mind!" She holds out her fingers for the 3rd time and another tentacle shatters another one of my tokens. It then grabs my left leg and I groan for even more pain. "Haa…" Somehow, I am able to endure it. It hurts like hell, but all this is to keep Luna safe; My dear girlfriend safe even from my so-called Sister Rose.
[Kevin's LP: 2200]
I take a look at Akiza and see it. She's enjoying my pain even when she used to be the one worried about all the pain I would get. She wants me to see how cruel she can be to break me and that's what is driving her to do this. She doesn't care about winning. Akiza. Please remember.
"I am going to enjoy this. Now attackkkkkk!" She points her fist at me this time and the last tentacle shatters my 4th Ivy Token. It begins to wrap around my body and it lifts me above a few feet off the ground. I groan, closing my eyes and I feel the most pain now in my whole body.
"Look at you up there. Hopeless and alone. No one can help you and no one wants to. Now you know what it feels to be me in this cruel cold world," Akiza tells. I open my eyes and see her smiling. She's enjoying my pain. She's actually enjoying my suffering. Suddenly, the tentacles dive me down back to the floor, and it crashes me with full force. The impact causes a huge whirlwind around.
"Woah," The Announcer says, "Akiza's attack has the whole stadium in panic. The place is in complete chaos. Just like we thought, Akiza is-"
"A witch," I hear someone say.
"It's true," someone else adds.
"That girl is a witch!"
"Cheater!"
"She's dangerous!"
No… She's alone. I say mostly to myself. Somehow, someway, I get back on my feet even with them trembling below me.
[Kevin's LP: 1600]
"Kevin!" Luna is by my side and she grabs my arm with hers. She has tears in her eyes.
"I'm okay," I reassure her and give her a small smile. Suddenly, my mark begins to glow as well as Luna's and somehow, I feel her emotions of doubt, pain, terror, and love. "I'm okay."
No One's POV
Kevin and Luna stand arm in arm with their marks glowing brightly. At this point, Kevin's clothes are a bit torn. Kevin draws. "Akiza, we want to help you," he says. "We want to be your friend and we are going to use every card we have to prove it to you." At that moment 'Princess Eyes of Time' Spell card's effect activates.
[Kevin's LP: 700]
"Wait, what gives?" Yanagi questions from his seat. "Why did Kevin lose even more Life points?"
"Due to the effect of Luna's spell card on her turn. Since Kevin didn't return QuickFlash Warrior back to his extra deck, he takes damage equal to half of it's attack points," Dexter explains to him.
"Yeah, if he would have had it on his turn, he could have even summoned another monster to boost up his defenses," Tanner adds. "Unfortunately, Akiza destroyed it on her turn."
This is my fault, Luna adds and frowns.
No, Luna. It was my mistake; For going easy and taking it slow. I didn't take into consideration that she would destroy QuickFlash that easily, Kevin tells her. He then looks to Akiza who is panting hard. "I think I understand it now. What makes you tick, Akiza. Because of all what people have put you through. You enjoy it."
"Enjoy what?" She questions.
"You enjoy people's misery," Kevin clarifies. "You like how it makes people feel. You like how it makes you feel."
"You're right," she agrees with a wicked smile. "And for the rest of this duel, I really plan on enjoying myself."

A/N: To be honest, I love how this chapter turned out. There wasn't much action in terms of the duel, but I wanted to include a bit of the aftermath of Kevin/Luna's duel against Yusei and some of Akiza's thoughts. The next chapter will probably be the whole duel for Kevin/Luna Vs Akiza. Depends on how long it turns out. I don't really want this to go into part 3 because I'm already desperate in wanting to do the final match. You all already know how it's going to go but no spoilers.
