A/N: Hello and welcome back to The Life Channel! I hope everyone is doing well. It's been a long month. I have been trying to keep myself busy with everything I have going on and I'm glad to say that I have great plans for this story moving forward. I don't want to spoil too much since I'm sure some of you will like this little surprise. It's something the original writers should have done since the show was airing, but what do I know (lol)? People preferred a certain type of archetype as the good side instead and also, for competitive reasons if I'm not mistaken, and that shaped what we have for the original Yu-gi-oh 5D's. Not the best in my opinion, but it's something at least. I will try to make it as good as it was intended to be. So expect that in like 3 chapters.
So Note (I'm pretty sure most of you know my writing style at this point, but just in case): Italics and underline is the conversation in mind between Kevin and Luna. Italics by themselves are the character's thoughts.
Yu-Gi-Oh Kevin's 6th Grade Life
Part 2: The Arcadia Movement
Chapter 16: Visions
"The signs are always there. See them; know them, before it becomes too late."
Location: Lightness
No One's POV
The creature with a beautiful white dress and an assortment of various colors on her skirt sat on her throne pleased at the recent turn of events. Blue may have made a mess of things, but that didn't mean that she could use that to her advantage.
At that moment, a blue being with dark blue hair and a white suit appeared in her vicinity. His white dress shoes clanked as he made his way towards White. Then, another creature with light green hair and a dark green dress appeared right behind him. Her skin is soft brown and she smiled at the scenery before her. So much peace and calmness.
"Mother," the boy's voice reached her ear.
She smiled, opening her eyes. "Blue. Green. Welcome."
"You seem in good spirits," Blue said with eyebrows raised. "Does your appearance in the Fortune Cup have anything to do with that?"
She smiles. "Of course."
"Then why?" Green spoke up for the first time. "Weren't you the one sour and in anger for how everything has changed?"
White laughed. "Mortals have the tendency to think that they know everything and they are the gods of their own choices. I just wanted to show them who their legacy is... Truth be told, I was not sure how things would turn out, but because of you, Blue, and because of my husband, events have finally been set into motion."
"Kevin has won and he is now King," Blue said with interest.
"Yes, and that is less important. While they think it matters, it does not. While we let them rest, for now, I will travel to Spiritus to help a broken village. I see now that The Princess is busy trying to restore order in her kingdom. I will visit and help her. I must trust you two to keep everything in order for when I return, we will open Kevin's eyes to the truth."
Green smirked and Blue nodded. "Very well. I will help the boy and the girl understand. Their little group now needs things to be cleared up."
"And that won't be a problem, I assume."
Blue shook his head. "Of course not."
White turned to look at her daughter. "What about Leo?"
"He is to be trained and I deal with that as we move forward."
"Very well. Then, I will see you two soon." And with that, White vanished.
Green turned to Blue. "What's next?"
He smiled. "Answers."
Kevin's POV
Those visions… There are 5 signers but we only know 3 of them. Could Leo be one since he was there with us? And that big spider outline of Jack's city. If that is the future, it's doomed unless we do something to prevent that… And then, The King and Queen of Spiritus… That's me and Luna. Me and Luna… I frown and remember the marks on The King in that vision. Yes. marks because I'm pretty sure I spotted two marks. The one I have now and another one I couldn't quite see.
"Kevin! Kevin! Kevin!" The chant of the crowd brings me back to the present and I watch as Jack is taken away on a stretcher. I turn back to the crowd and look over to the holographic screen of my name. I did it. I'm the King now.
"Kevin!" I turn to my friends who are frantically running towards me. I watch as Tanner goes to grab my duel runner. Dexter, Yusei, and Yanagi go to me.
"Hey, guys. Whats-"
"We should probably get going," Yusei suggests.
"Huh?"
"The media!" Yanagi exclaims in fear, pointing to the left of me. I glance over there and see a bunch of reporters behind some fence gates.
"Hey, Kevin! Photo!" Someone yells.
"Interview please!" Another pleads.
"Give us an autograph, new King!"
Suddenly, the fence gates come crashing down as the masses of reporters begin their hunt for me.
"Oh, let's go!" I exclaim and help Tanner with my duel runner. "Wait, what about Luna and Leo?"
"Don't worry, we'll meet with them. Let's go before you become paparazzi meat."
A short while later, we thankfully managed to avoid the media, and now, we're making our way through an underground tunnel. Luna's finally by my side, hand-in-hand with her blue pajamas like that dream or visions I had during the duel. Tanner is wheeling my duel runner and everyone else is right beside us. As soon as I saw Luna on her feet, I decided to hug the air out of her. She laughed and congratulated me on the victory.
For some reason, it felt like a long time without Luna by my side, but that's probably because I didn't have her alongside me to duel. It felt so weird. I feel her squeeze my hand in reassurance and I look at her. She gives me a soft sweet smile. She's soooo pretty. I notice myself beginning to feel hot and I decide to comment on our current situation. "Good thing this tunnel is very wide."
Tanner laughs having seen the interactions between me and Luna and he explains. "This passage was used back when the Stadium was being constructed."
"Huh, convenient for us," I answer.
"Yep, because no one ever uses it now. Blister told me about it."
"Anyway, you're something else, Kevin! You actually became King!" Yanagi exclaims in excitement. I smile at his praise.
"That's so awesome," Leo says. "Now, I'm considering whether to have that duel with you or not."
Dexter laughs and I see Yusei smile. "Oh, don't chicken out now. You got to duel his cards. They're so powerful."
"Did you see his dragon!" Leo reminds him. "He even got out Yusei's dragon and it was just so coooool."
I raise my eyebrows and let go of Luna's hand. "Oh, here, Yusei. Before I forget." I go to my duel runner and grab Stardust Dragon and his 'Junk' monster cards. I hand them back to him. "Thank you."
Yusei smiles and he puts his Stardust Dragon card back into his deck on his belt. But he then offers me Junk Synchron and Junk Warrior. "Here. This is my gift to you for believing in friendship and helping out Jack."
"Yusei, but I-" He interrupts me with a shake of his head.
"Take them. I know they will help you out in the near future."
I smile with a nod and go put them back into my deck. "Thank you."
"At any rate, it seems we're gonna have to lay low at Blister's hideout, "Tanner suggests and turns back to look at Yusei. He nods in approval. "It'd be safer if Kevin, Luna, and Leo stay with us, too."
"Really!? Alright! I get to stay with Yusei again!" Leo exclaims in excitement and pumps a fist up high.
I glance over to Luna and see her in deep thought with a worried expression on her pretty face. Pretty- I shake my head and call her attention. You okay, Luna? You have been really quiet.
She gives me a soft smile and nods. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm just worried about everything we saw.
Satellite, it, well… I grab her hand and squeeze it softly again. Whatever we saw, I'm sure we will put a stop to it before anything bad happens.
I turn to Yusei and ask him. "Were you there with us in that light while I and Luna fought Jack?"
He frowns but nods. "Yes. I saw all that too. If that is the future of Satellite, we got to stop that from happening."
I squeeze Luna's hand in reassurance and she gives me a heartwarming smile. It will be okay. We got Yusei with us on this.
"What is a signer?" Leo then suddenly asks.
"Hehe," Yanagi begins. "To discuss that, we turn it over to me! Listen here, Leo. A 'signer' is- oh I got to tell you guys about my many globetrottin' adventures!" I see Luna smile as he begins to tell us the crazy adventures that he would go on.
I know Luna's worried, but we will save and protect those who are in danger. I just hope Princess Eclipse is alright. That vision where both The King and Queen disappear because of that black creature really worries me too. Why does he look so familiar? I feel myself getting a headache and when Luna squeezes my hand in reassurance, I decide not to think about it and listen to Yanagi tell his tales.
About an hour later, after we take Dexter home, we finally arrive at Blister's hideout which is an empty floor on what looks to be an abandoned apartment building. Tanner parks my duel runner in Blister's garage and assures me that it will be kept safe. After we get accustomed to a room that consists of a huge table in the middle, various couches around, and a few shelves by a wall, and another wall with a long window overlooking the outside around, does Yanagi take a seat to explain. He has grabbed a whiteboard and a marker and begins to draw something.
"It has been a while since I've seen this, you know," he says. Luna, Leo, and I stand in anticipation with Yusei behind us. "My memory's kinda vague, but it was somethin' like this." He stands up to let us see and what we find is a replica of the various marks Luna and I have encountered so far. Yusei gasps behind us and he begins to explain.
"That tail-"
"Yusei what's wrong?" Leo asks in concern.
He shows us his hand and pulls down his sleeve. He reveals a red mark; 3 points and various lines on one end. In the middle, it looks like 2 eyes.
That's his mark, I say to Luna. It looks pretty cool, but it contains a lot of mysteries.
Not more than ours, She says as Leo turns to look at his sister.
"Luna, what about yours?"
She pulls up her sleeve to reveal a blue mark; an upside-down triangle with a half-moon inside, its ends pointing to the left. At that moment, I decide to pull down my sleeve and reveal my mark. It's also a triangle with a half-moon inside, but with its ends pointing to the right.
"Oh, you also have one, Kevin?!" Leo exclaims, in astonishment. "And I thought I was seeing things when you were both dueling Akiza."
"But what does it all mean?" Luna asks softly.
"According to the legend that I've heard of the People of the Stars," Yanagi begins. "The head, wings, hands, legs, and tail, of The Crimson Dragon, each of its parts, were all broken up and sealed into people called 'Signers' as birthmarks."
"Wait," Tanner interrupts, pointing a finger outward. "The only Signers we know of so far are Yusei, Akiza, and Jack- The three of them. But, for that crimson dragon to show up like that…"
"The fourth and fifth signer might've been somewhere around there," Yanagi points out in understanding.
Leo pulls up his shirt exposing his belly. "No birthmark on me anywhere, I guess?" He asks Luna. She laughs softly. Her expression then goes serious.
"Yusei, Leo was there with us," she tells him. "During Kevin's duel with Jack."
He looks at Leo and nods. "I know", and he begins to explain to Yanagi and Tanner what happened in the duel after Jack and I disappeared in that flash of light.
"That's weird," Tanner agrees after Yusei's down. "If he doesn't have a birthmark, how could he have been there to see everything, Gramps?"
Yanagi shakes his head. "I don't know."
"Do you know anything else about our marks?" I then ask Yanagi.
He shakes his head. "Besides what we talked about, no. Sadly, I wasn't able to find much in my adventures."
I look down and sigh.
Don't worry, Luna reassures me. Maybe we can try to visit Spiritus soon to see if we can get some answers.
How are we going to do that? I question in doubt.
I'm not sure, but we can try something later. She squeezes my hand and I smile.
"Well I'm going grab us something to eat," Tanner says. "You guys hungry?"
At the mention of food, my stomach growls. I laugh. "Yes please."
After a good dinner of burgers and fries, we all decide to call it a night. Tanner decides to take one couch, Yanagi and Leo take another one, and Luna lays down on another one. Luckily, Yusei manages to find a blanket for her. I take the floor beside Luna and after we all tuck in for sleep, my girlfriend asks, You sure you don't want to sleep on the couch with me? I don't mind.
I feel my cheeks beginning to heat up. No, it's okay. I'll be fine on the ground. Just rest up, Luna. We'll talk more soon.
I look up to see her offer her hand at me. I smile and take her hand in mine. You love that don't you? I look to my left and see her bright golden eyes in the soft moonlight. She gives me a soft smile.
It makes me feel safe. Don't you?
I chuckle and squeeze her hand. I definitely love it.
It doesn't take us long before I hear Yanagi's snores and the fatigue of the last two days finally catch up to me. Soon, sleep watches over me.
I soon awake again but what confuses me is where I am at. I'm standing in the living room of Luna's place and my eyes shortly fall on the invitation to The Fortune Cup on the table off to the wall.
I smile, remembering the duel between me and Jack. I can't believe I was able to beat him.
Suddenly, I feel something heavy in my hand and I look to see my deck. Of course, my deck was there to help me. I smile again and flip my deck over. My eyes fall upon Princess Eclipse. Daddy.
I frown and feel deep sadness. I need to go see her. Luna and I need to go to Spiritus as soon as possible.
I then feel my arm burn and I look at my mark glowing. For whatever reason, I make my way to the outside where the pool is. I then find another person sitting at a table overlooking the balcony. The green ponytails give her away. "Luna?" I question in confusion.
Upon calling her, she turns to me and smiles. "Hey, Kevin. Beautiful isn't it?" I take a seat beside her and look over the edge. The city is sparkling in the night and just over the horizon is the sun beginning to rise. The view is breathtaking.
"I used to do this once every while. Wake up at the crack of dawn, wait until the sun rises, and take in the whole scenery. Seems so beautiful, but of course, everything is not what it seems." She frowns and I look at her arm. Her mark is also glowing. I decide to grab her hands with mine and intertwine my fingers with hers.
"Maybe after stuff dies down, I wouldn't mind watching the sunrise with you," I say. She watches me and then smiles.
"You're amazing, you know that," she then tells me. "I'm glad you're my boyfriend," and then she blushes.
I raise my eyebrows. "What's wrong?"
She shakes her head. "You'll probably find out when you wake up."
"Hmm?"
"Don't worry about it. You know, I just remembered another thing my parents told me about the fairytale," she says.
"Oh?"
"We could be sharing the same dream and that's so coooool!" She giggles and I smile.
"You really think so?" I ask her.
"I know so and I couldn't ask for more." Then she frowns. "Aren't you worried?"
"Worried about what?" I ask with sincerity.
"About what's next? About what's going to happen and these marks?" She looks at our marks.
I look over to the horizon, watching as the first lights of the sun begin to wash over the city. "I'm terrified to be completely honest, but I got you." I turn to look at Luna again. She's quiet as I continue, "I got my girlfriend. I got my friends and I got a few memories. Yes, I am scared, but knowing I got support against whatever we will face, I'm not scared. I have faith and I have hope that whatever happens next, we will be okay." At that, I see the tears in Luna's eyes and she wipes them away.
"Do- Do you remember anything else about your past?"
I nod. "I have seen this boy with smooth black hair and this brunette girl. They appear randomly when I close my eyes, but I don't know anything else." I close my eyes. "It's like when Leo mentioned Green. Something clicked, but I can't remember anything else."
Luna squeezes my hands. "Don't force yourself. We really need to go to Spiritus to talk to our daughter."
"Our daughter, huh," I smile at Luna and she blushes.
"It's strange not calling her that with everything we know," she interjects. "Plus, I don't mind and I like it."
I nod. "Same, but you're right. We need to contact Princess Eclipse. The question is how?" We're both quiet and then Luna decides to ask that question.
"Did you see The King and how he had two marks?" She carefully asks.
I frown and nod. "I did but-"
Suddenly a bright light glows in front of us and we see a beautiful dragon appear.
"Kevin. Luna."
"Ancient Fairy Dragon?"
The dragon nods. "Prepare for the darkness. Yusei has come across a Dark Signer." A Dark Signer. I close my eyes as a memory of me dueling against someone with a spider birthmark in some school comes to mind.
"What's a Dark Signer?" Luna questions confused.
"They are a group who want to drain both of our worlds into despair and total darkness. You cannot let them. If you do, both worlds will fall and Satellite will be destroyed."
I nod and squeeze Luna's hands. "What do we have to do?"
"Be ready for anything. You both will soon be taken to Spiritus to continue your mission." She suddenly grows bright and I wake up.
I yawn and feel something heavy on top of me. I open my eyes and see Luna sleeping on my chest.
"You two seem really comfy," Tanner says from the table to my right. I see him smile with a computer in front of him.
I blush and I whisper to Luna. "Hey, Princess. Time to get up."
She smiles opening up her eyes and suddenly she plants a sweet kiss on my cheek. "Good morning. Thank you."
I raise my eyebrows. "I- I-"
She giggles and gets off of me.
"How did that even happen?" I turn to Yanagi and Leo who are also just waking up. They stretch and I see Leo frown at me.
"I think last night, you gave me a kiss on the cheek and told me if you could sleep with me," Luna says. "Seems like you don't like the floor."
I wonder and seem to recall me doing that half asleep. "Is that why you were blushing in our dream?"
Nodding, She smiles and looks over to Tanner. "Good morning." She looks at Yanagi and Leo and smiles at them. "Good morning you guys."
"Morning," Leo answers half-heartedly.
"Good morning, Luna," Yanagi says back.
Is your brother okay? I ask my girlfriend.
She nods. Don't worry about it… I'll tell you later. I nod. "Where's Yusei, Tanner?"
He shrugs. "Wasn't here when I woke up." But right at that cue, the door opens and Yusei walks inside.
"Hey. Where've you been 'till now, so early in the morning?" Tanner asks with concern.
He walks to him and answers, "I had a duel with a guy with a birthmark on his arm."
"What?" Tanner stands up at that. "The fourth signer?"
"No, he called himself a 'Dark Signer'."
I raise my eyebrows and see Luna also tense up.
"Dark Signer?" Tanner questions.
"That birthmark…"
"We think they are the people we are supposed to fight," Luna says to them. "Ancient Fairy Dragon told us that you were fighting one of them."
He nods. "We should get ready. I think I should pay Goodwin a visit pretty soon to get answers."
We all agree and take turns freshening up. After I exit the restroom, I find Luna and Leo talking quietly on one of the couches in the room. Now, Yusei is in front of a computer screen, typing away. Yanagi is sitting on a stool beside Yusei with arms crossed watching him work.
"Hey, Kevin. Mind helping me with some drinks for everyone?" Tanner asks me. I nod and give him a smile. I go to where he is making drinks and I help him pour the ingredients into the cups.
"So, you and Luna?" He whispers. I smile and nod as I also pour the ingredients into the cup and begin to stir. "You two really seem so attached. Was the media all bark and bite or?"
"We're together," I tell him. "As boyfriend and girlfriend and because we wanted it."
"I see. Try not to hurt her, Kevin. I know it's in your best interest and I just want both of you to be happy."
I nod and continue. "Thank you. I don't remember much of my past. It's all over the place in my mind right now, but I do care a lot about Luna. She's all I have right now, Tanner, and she's my first priority, to be honest."
He smiles in approval and takes a cup to Yusei. Thank you. I hear Luna say.
I smile. Are you and Leo okay?
Yes. We're okay now.
I nod and grab three cups and take them to Luna and Leo. "Thank you," he says with a smile.
"You still can't contact Blister?" Yanagi asks Yusei.
Yusei stops typing and stands up. "I'm thinking of heading back to Satellite. What that guy said is starting to worry me."
"Huh? 'Going back'?"
"Is it about that whole thing about Satellite getting annihilated?"
He nods. "It is."
"You're going?" Luna suddenly asks and gets up. Leo is right beside her. "You're going back to Satellite, Yusei?"
"Yusei…"
I also stand up and tell him. "You shouldn't go when we are still in the unknown over what's going on."
"There's something that I have to make sure is true."
"You can't! Isn't Satellite a really dangerous place?" Leo questions in fear. "Don't go back there. Just stay with us in the city!"
"Wasn't it you who said that Signers should stay together, Yusei?" Luna asks him with a deep concern for her friend. She suddenly grabs my hand and squeezes it in reassurance. Yusei comes over to us and kneels down. He places his hand on Leo's shoulders and then his other hand on my shoulders.
"Signers are always bound to meet again," he tells us.
"Yusei…" Luna says.
Suddenly, we hear sirens outside. That takes our attention and Yusei goes over to open the window. We follow and watch various officers come out of their vehicles. One of them begins to speak over a microphone.
"Can you hear me, you Satellite scumbag!?"
"Isn't that Officer Trudge?" I ask in confusion.
"That's the guy that was kicked out when Yusei was talking to Director Goodwin," Leo agrees.
"The city is no safe refuge for you!" The Officer continues. "I'm gonna haul your ass in this very second, so you'd better get good and ready!"
"Tch, talk about bad timing," Tanner says next to me, clearly annoyed.
"Just the opposite," Yusei says. He looks down and then begins to make his way to the door. "I'll see you guys soon." And with that, he's gone.
A/N: Yeah, this was a really short chapter. Lowkey, a filler if you want to call it like that. But, I feel like it was necessary. The next one will be longer since I plan to have Kevin and Leo duel, finally. One issue I do have with this is making each character's deck balanced enough and not too overpowered since this is the beginning of the story. But anyway, yeah. Hope you guys enjoyed. Any criticism and/or ideas are highly appreciated. And if you want to be part of this story, send me a DM and we can talk about your character and their custom cards. It'll be a cool idea to have them and Kevin face off as past friends. Thanks again and see you all soon. Peace.
