A/N: First things first, Welcome back to TheLife Channel!

I really want to thank a special individual for reviewing the last chapter. You know you who are lol, but I appreciate it so much that you took the time to leave a comment. A good one and I thank you so much for that.

This chapter is very short and I apologize for that, but it's a good filler chapter. Not my best work, but I felt like I had to get something out for you guys in time. The next chapter is 75% done. Maybe I will post it in the next couple of weeks. I'm not sure yet. It really depends if I work on the next chapter after that.

Besides that, I really don't have much to add, so enjoy the next installment and if you have any other questions or concerns, add a review or PM directly. I do repond as quickly as possible.

Disclaimer: I don't owe Yu-gi-oh 5D's. If I did I most likely wouldn't be here lol

Quick side note: The Bold letters at the beginning is just Luna telling a story. Other characters add their thoughts, but it goes back to dialogue pretty soon.

Chapter 18: The Tale of White

"Where were you when we needed you the most?"

There was once a village. A small one; about 10 people. There was this very young beautiful lady with long white hair and glittering blue eyes. She had a family. She had people around and they all had one goal; to grow as a community.

Wait, Leo interrupts. How do you know what she looks like?

Because I would look at the book all the time, Leo, Luna says. Not only for bed like you did. Now shush, I'm telling a story.

Sorry.

As I was saying, this girl wanted to help grow her community and so she did. With the help of her people and the monster spirits around, they prosper, but one day, one creature wanted something in return. This creature wanted to be noticed and thanked in every way possible, but of course, it was not that easy. This creature was known as Chaos. The spirit of dark desire and affection. Through denial and impatience, this creature ended up bonding with neighboring villages. The bad thing about that was that these neighborhood villages wanted total control. They didn't care about others's rules. They just wanted to be worshiped.

Some time passed, and this girl met this very handsome and amazing gentleman. He was the protector of the village. He was always helping and trying to give to those in need. Instantly, she knew that he was the one. And so, they talked and talked. To no end's meet. They eventually got married and had three kids. But of course, all happiness and peace didn't last long. One day, Chaos and his men decided to raid this couple's village. They fought back but it was no use. They were outnumbered and so, the only chance they had was to flee with whoever wanted to follow.

But, even so, they didn't have much time. The intruders caught up, and the guy had to stand back to let his community get away. That was the toughest time for the girl, but she made it. At the lowest times, after losing everything and her loved one, she never gave up hope. Because of this, another light creature came to her. Her name was White…

She told her, "Don't lose hope and move forward. If you do, You have my blessings and I will grow your kingdom to the most beautiful thing ever." And so, she did. Her 3 three kids grew and eventually, they grew the community to something big. With the harmony of monster spirits, they worked to form a new community. As this community spread, these 3 kids formed kingdoms. One of those kingdoms became known as Spiritus. The Kingdom of peace and prosperity. One of that girl's kids grew to become the Queen of Spiritus. One day, a Prince came into the Kingdom and met the queen. He was everything she ever wanted and one day, they had a kid.

Princess Eclipse… Kevin adds.

Yes, our daughter…

Wait, your daughter?! Leo interrupts. What?! Who-

Leo, shush. I will explain later. I am telling a story.

But anyways, yes Princess Eclipse was born. This family had everything; A Kingdom. Love and happiness. But… Dark days soon came. The Kingdom saw the random disappearance of monster spirits. The King and Queen tried to seek answers, but no one was able to give them answers. Until one day, a prophet came to their castle. He told them that dark times would fall over the kingdom and they would have to leave to help their kingdom. But not all hope was lost, he told them their daughter would be the one to save their home.

As she grew, she asked for training to become a better princess. Her parents were wary of making her a fighter, but she only wanted to help her family and her home. And so, they did train her. She trained day and night. With her gifts of fire, she became a warrior.

One day, a hooded creature came to the castle and asked to see the Queen and King. They met him, but everything turned bad when this person turned into The one and only… Chaos. He had come to claim what was his. The Queen was not gonna give up her home. Her precious home and family. And so, the King and Queen took their daughter into hiding with their most loyal companion.

Blade Knight.

Yes, Blade Knight. A silver warrior who always stood by the King's and Queen's side no matter what. For some time, The Kingdom of Spiritus fought against Chaos and his minions.

Didn't Princess Eclipse see the whole battle? Leo adds in question.

Yes. My mom told me that she did. She escaped her hiding spot to help her parents, but in doing so, she witnessed the devastation that would break her heart. Her parents gave up their lives to seal Chaos away. Their spirits expelled Chaos from the Kingdom of Spiritus and all the monster's spirits soon returned. The Kingdom rejoiced, but The Princess felt like she had failed herself and mostly her parents.

At that point, Luna has paused and she has tears in her eyes. Kevin gives her a warm embrace and she happily accepts it. The whole gang is back at Blister's hideout. Each on their own seats, attentive to what Luna and Leo have said.

"That's a crazy story," Tanner says with raised eyes.

"But, true," Yanagi adds. "I have heard parts and rumors of The Tale of White, but not the whole story."

"Wait, now that I think about it, where was White during that battle between The King and Queen of Spiritus and Chaos?" Kevin questions.

"I don't know," Leo says. "Our parents never really told us much about White."

"Yeah, I asked my mom about White and she said she didn't know. The book didn't really tell us where she was during any part of the war."

"Hmmm," Kevin wonders for a bit.

"Wait, Luna, what do you mean your daughter?" Leo asks Luna again.

Luna smiles. "We think we may be descendants or hum," she turns to Kevin.

"We may have The King and Queen in us," Kevin tells Leo and the rest of the group. "Like we may be descendants of The King and Queen."

"That makes sense why you two can hear each other and those blue marks of yours," Yanagi explains.

Kevin and Luna both roll up their sleeves to show their blue marks. Their highlights are present, but at the moment, they aren't glowing. "Wait, how did you know we can hear each other even though we don't speak?"

Yanagi laughs. "It is a bit noticeable and The King and Queen were able to do that, if I'm not mistaken."

Kevin raises his eyebrows and nods. He blushes a bit. "We are very quiet and we look at each other a lot, don't we?"

Tanner chuckles. "Pretty much."

"So I was not crazy," Leo says.

Luna smiles. "Yeah, we can talk with each other with our minds. Pretty convenient though."

"That's pretty cool," Leo says in awe.

Kevin smiles and then he looks down to the floor with a frown. "So Yanagi, you don't know much about White and the story?"

He shakes his head. "I'm sorry, I really don't. In my travels, I didn't really look through that legend."

Kevin nods. "Then I think me and Luna need to pay Princess Eclipse a visit."

"How will you do that?" Tanner questions in concern.

"Traveling to the Spirit World. I really need to know who White is. I also want to ask about this." He shows his mark. "During the duel with Leo, I spaced out and saw my mark beginning to turn black."

Yanagi raises his eyebrows. "I hope it doesn't mean what I think it means."

"What?" Kevin asks, looking at him with desperation. "I heard when a mark turns black, something bad will happen soon."

Luna takes his hand and crosses her fingers with Kevin. "I think we should go. To see if Princess Eclipse can tell us more about her family and these marks."

Kevin nods.

"How does that work?" Tanner asks. "Traveling to the Spirit World."

Luna shrugs. "I think when we are asleep, we can cross without any problems.

"And we are going to have to go sooner rather than later…" Kevin says with a hard expression.

"Why?" Tanner questions.

"When I was dueling Leo, I saw this Black Being. He talked to me in this weird language, but then he told me that he was going to help me just once. He said he wants Chaos and that he will wait for me in Spiritus."

"Chaos…" Luna whispers.

Kevin nods. "Yes, and he must know what happened with The King and The Queen of Spiritus."

"We will go later tonight," Luna reassures her boyfriend.

Yusei's POV

It's crazy to think that a couple of weeks ago, I was in Satellite working on my duel runner with my friends. A black car makes a stop in front of me and Lazar. Rex Goodwin gets out. "Yusei. It's time you learned the whole truth."

"About what?" I clearly question. We are standing on an unfinished bridge. Rex points past me and I follow his pointing to the horizon where my home place resides. "About where you come from… and where you are going." He walks past me and stands with his hands behind his back, overlooking the scenery. "How do you like the bridge Yusei?" He then turns his head towards me. "Did you know that it was once going to connect The Satellite with New Domino City?"

"So why was it never finished?" I carefully ask.

"Hmmm. I'm glad you asked." He turns back to look over the horizon. "You see, if the construction of this bridge was ever completed, it would have given the evil that lives deep beneath the satellite access to my precious New Domino City. And the battle that is about to begin must never reach these shores."

"But what about the people in the satellite?" I question in deep concern.

"They will become enveloped in eternal darkness unless someone can save them."

"So why aren't you using the power you possess to get them out of there?" I now have raised my voice.

"I can't do that."

"But why?"

"Because as long as the people in the satellite remain there, The darkness will stay as well."

"But why would you put the people of the satellite at risk?"

"Yusei, the time has come for me to tell you the truth."

I look at my arm where my mark is. "Why don't we start with this?"

"That is the mark of The Mark of The Crimson Dragon." Goodwin begins. "It belongs to those who protect our world from The Darkness."

"Oh, is that all? Then why did it choose me, huh?"

Goodwin closes his eyes. "Because you are strong and selfless, Yusei, the dragon knew you would not run from a challenge or from the darkness that is coming." He then opens his eyes and turns to face me. "And this darkness is dangerous. It will take on many forms. It may be a stranger or a friend, but you will know for they will have the mark of the shadows."

"'Mark of the shadows!?'" I exclaim. "You must mean The Dark Signers! I dueled one of their drones!" I remember seeing that purple mark on that boy's arm. "And he had a glowing spider on his arm."

"Then the first battle of the war has already been won," Goodwin says. "Just as you were chosen to protect the light, they choose to protect the darkness. They will stop at nothing to stop you, Yusei."

"Dark signers? Chosen Protectors!? But when did all this start?"

"Perhaps we should go back to the beginning, 5,000 years ago when the war began."

"Now we're getting somewhere. Tell me."

"Hmmm. There were two great armies- one of shadow and one of light. They battled across the face of the earth, nearly destroying the whole planet. The army of light wasn't an army of men and steel, but of dragons, five power creatures that had sworn to protect the earth at all costs. They fought the army of shadows, comprised of other creatures, unknown except for the scars they left on the soil. The armies had gathered for one final battle. The dragons knew they had not the individual strength to win, so they combined their power into a single force: The Crimson Dragon. The Creatures of the shadows fought fiercely, but they were no match for the combined might of the dragons and their crimson hero.

"Eventually, the army of Shadows was defeated, but not , its essence was trapped deep beneath the earth taking with them one prisoner, The Ancient Fairy Dragon."

I raise my eyebrows.

"The creatures of the shadows were imprisoned under the Nazca lines, but the dragons knew that one day, they might return. And so they sacrificed themselves, instilling the power of The Five Dragons in Generation after Generation of humans, hoping that maybe The Crimson Dragon could be summoned again." I look at my right arm.

"You have the spirit of a dragon in you, Yusei. Just as the Dark Signers are possessed by the growing power of the army of shadows."

"But how? And why now?" I question him. "I- I thought they were trapped under the ground or something! It's been 5,000 years!"

"It was something we couldn't possibly predict that would happen," Goodwin explains. "Tell me, have you heard of the Ener-D Reactor? It was built to absorb the positive energy created through dueling. But to create a better future, we had to take risks in the past. Years ago, a prototype was built. It was kept deep underground, below the slums of the Satellite. Our goal was to harness the incredible energy created through the competition of dueling and use it as a positive force.

"Imagine: powering all of New Domino City with just a pack of cards. We would be a beacon for the world! But then, something happened. Instead of releasing useful, positive energy, the first Ener-D Reactor had a meltdown. Negative energy erupted and split New Domino City in two. Everything above the Reactor was infused with this negative energy. It became a barren wasteland of depression. It became the Satellite.

"But the troubles didn't end there. The burst of negative energy was so strong, the surface of the earth trembled. And something deep beneath it was awoken."

"The Army of Shadows!" I comment.

"Exactly. They fed on the negative energy, growing in power until now, when they were strong enough to continue their war. We can't let that happen. I know this must all come as a shock, but I promise you that my grief is even worse than you could imagine. After all,, I was in favor of its creation. I thought it would help people. But low and behold the power of this reactor has sparked a war between the signers and the forces of I know how to end it and I'm going to need your help along with Kevin's and Luna's.

"That Duel Tournament wasn't held just for fun. I had some suspicions who the signers might be and that tournament proved it. Now that I've gathered you all together, you can combine your strength and defeat The Dark Signers- Those who are trying to open the earthen prison of the shadow army."

"And if we can't and they release the 'Shadows'?" I ask in doubt.

"If that should happen, well, you've already seen a glimpse of our fate. During Kevin's duel with Jack. Do you remember?"

I close my eyes and remember Kevin and Jack fighting it out. It felt so real and that spider mark all over Satellite. "I can't get it out of my head. The Satellite was destroyed. Can't we evacuate? Get all the people to safety? I got friends that are stuck there, Goodwin!"

"Where would you take them? Satellite's first. Then New Domino would be next. The planet will be reduced to Ash, but the first battle must take place in the satellite! That's where this negative energy originated, and that's where it must be stopped."

"What am I to do?! Am I supposed to beat this army of shadows on my own!? Am I supposed to put the safety of all my friends in my deck?!"

Goodwin then points to the Satellite. "The people need you, Yusei! They need you and Kevin. The powers you both possess can be enough to help this troubled world. You both can defeat The Dark Signers or let them take over. What do you choose?"

"I'll take these signers on." I will protect Kevin and Luna and the rest of my friends. "But wait, you said there's five of us, didn't you? I'm only counting 3 signers. Who are the fourth and fifth?"

"We first thought that Luna was one, but surprisingly enough, she gave us something different. Like that boy, Kevin. I'm still working on the other signers, but rest assured that both Kevin and Luna can help you in this war," he explains. "But I'm sure they'll show up. For now, let's get you back to The Satellite." As he says that, a big hilo-carrier rises from below and opens up to reveal my duel runner. He turns to me and says, "Don't let the world down, Yusei."

Kevin's POV

Me and Luna are in the bedroom next door. After we spend the following afternoon moving Blister's boxes and cleaning the room and beds, we are finally in bed, side by side. Luna has been asleep for the past half hour. I have been with eyes wide open looking as she slowly breathes. She's beautiful…

I smile and then frown. I remember what Tanner told me before we all went to bed. "Kevin. Be careful. If it was Chaos who tempted you to go to where he is at, be very careful and use all you got against him. Here." He gave me one of his cards. "Some help. I hope it's enough."

I nod and give him a big hug. "Anything is enough." Suddenly, I feel Luna tense up and she begins to move . She softly moans in discomfort as she moves her head back and forth. She grips the bed sheets tight as if her life depended on it. Luna, it's okay. I whisper. It's just a dream.

Worriedly, I take in her small hands in mine and I see her relax a bit. I snuggle in close to her and close my eyes. I'm coming to you, Luna. I'm coming.

As quickly as I close my eyes do I begin to feel a pull. I feel my body leave the real world and next thing I know, I land on some grass. The sun is about to rise and I feel the soft breeze of the wind. I turn to see the castle of Spiritus standing tall and in one piece. I sigh and then, I look down to see my fingers intertwined with Luna's fingers. She's asleep still and I smile at how peaceful she is.

Suddenly she jolts awake and when she sees me she moves over to me to give me a strong hug. I feel her soft sobs.

"Hey, it's okay. It's okay now," I softly says and pass my hand over her soft green hair.

"I saw them," she says and sniffles. "I saw The Crimson Dragon and our dragons battling some dark creatures."

"Dark Creatures?" I ask in concern. "Our dragons?"

"Yes, they had colorful outlines all over them. One was red, another blue and it was horrible," she begins to cry and I hold her. "Yusei's dragon, Akiza's dragon, Jack's dragon, and I think Leo's dragon was there. I'm not sure."

"It's okay. We're okay. We're safe."

She pulls away. "We are, but Satellite is not, Kevin. They are Dark creatures trying to destroy Yusei's home. We got to stop them. We got to help Yusei. Ancient Fairy Dragon was taken by one of those dark creatures…"

I nod. "We will and I'm sure Yusei is doing something as we speak. Let's find our answers as soon as possible and we will go back to help Yusei."

I stand up and then, I turn to Luna to offer her my hand. "Let's go see our daughter and get some answers from Chaos."

She nods and smiles. After getting up and taking my hand, do we begin to make our way to Princess Eclipse.

Yusei's POV

I wait in my runner and check if everything is alright with my ride. A few minutes later, a man's voice comes over the comms. "We're approaching The Satellite. Opening Cargo Hatch. Prepare for Drop Off. T-minus 10 seconds and counting. 10. 9. 8."

Kevin. Luna. I promise you guys won't have to face any more danger. I will defeat these Dark Signers. I will keep you and the rest of my pals safe. I start my engine and rev it up.

"7.6.5." I just hope I got enough power to do it. I back my runner on the ramp and begin to feel the strong winds. "Cargo deployed."

I hit it and soon land on the ground of the Satellite. My home and well as Jack's. I begin to pick up speed but then, I feel the eyes of someone on me. I slow down and swirl to a stop.

"Nice Landing, old pa." That voice! "Huh? Who's that?" I look up and on top of the rubble of trash and junk do my eyes fall on an old friend." He is riding on a black and yellow duel runner.

"You got a lot of nerve coming back here." He looks different from the last time I saw him. Instead of the yellow markings he once had on his face due to Sector Security, they are now red. Also, his eyes are all black.

"Crow…"

No One's POV

Kevin and Luna are really surprised to find no one in the castle. Absolutely no one. "Princess Eclipse?!"

"Princess Eclipse?!"

"Blade Knight!" Kevin calls in confusion. "Where is everyone at? Hello?"

"Heroes." Kevin pulls Luna back and he prepares himself to protect her. "Who's there?"

Suddenly, a white light glows in front of them and a White Being appears. "Everyone is gone. It's time you two faced Chaos. An alternative version of the one I once called Black."

Meanwhile in the dark depths of Satellite, three hooded figures stand. The one in the middle begins to speak. "And here is where The Awakening began. Can you feel it brothers? The negative energy flowing through the land? Soon, the satellite will fall to the Army of Shadows… And then the world will follow!" He begins to laugh in a crazy way. Shortly after, the other two join him.

A/N: There you have it. A bit of a filler to explain a bit more of White, The King and Queen of Spiritus and tease a bit of what is to come in the next few chapters. I foreshadowed something cool and exciting for Yusei. Thanks for reading and I hope to see you all pretty soon. Peace out XD
