A/N: Welcome back to TheLife Channel. After a whole month, I have the next chapter of this epic story! To be truthful, it is not easy to produce a chapter this long. I have been wanting to ask you guys, do you prefer this method? Long chapters, monthly updates, or short chapters and more constant updates? I don't know if that would actually help me produce more frequent chapters for you guys because 1.) Other adult responsibilities and school/work and 2.) Sometimes producing a chapter like I want to create doesn't come out as I meant for it to come out. That leads to a lot of editing and revision phases. I'm one of those that want to produce something epic, fair, and good to a certain degree and unfortunately, it does take me a whole month. Sometimes a lot more. Anyways to be seen what happens, but for sure, it is a monthly thing for the moment.

Chapter 19- The Battle against Chaos Part 1
"Despair... Can you feel it? Once you ruled this Kingdom girl, but now, this Kingdom is mine!"
Kevin's POV
"So you are White? " I ask as we; me, Luna, and the White Being with a rainbow dress and really long white hair that reaches all the way to the ground, walk on the dirt path away from The Kingdom of Spiritus.
"Yes, I am White. The first being to be born across time, space, and worlds," she says.
I nod and squeeze Luna's hand. Our fingers are intertwined and right now, I have so many questions that I don't know what to ask first. "So… where is everyone? Where were you when Princess Eclipse needed you? Where were you when the King and Queen of Spiritus needed you?"
I suddenly feel pain in my chest. Are you okay, Kevin? Luna asks in worry. I nod but decide to not worry about it. "Where is everyone?"
"They are stuck. Princess Eclipse and Blade Knight have been taken by the forces of Chaos," she explains.
Luna gasps. "Oh no…"
"We were too late." I squeeze her hand in reassurance.
"It's still not too late, child. At the end of this trial will be your toughest challenge yet and to answer your question of why I wasn't there to help this Kingdom… Well, I can't really tell you."
"What?!" There it is again. That pain. What's going on with me?
2 21 20... 9 3 1 14 19 8 15 23 25 15 21. I feel my soul being taken away like the feel of the wind on your face. I suddenly find myself in some type of laboratory. There are wires and cables everywhere and there's a young man sitting by a table. He has crazy colorful hair and he's invested in something on the table. I move closer and see him tinkering with some kind of circular device.
"Daddy!" I look to the source of that sweet voice and see a young white hair little girl by the doorstep.
The young man turns and smiles. "Darling, what is it?"
"Mommy says it's time for dinner."
The young man smiles and nods. "Alright, sweetie. Tell mommy I'm coming in a bit. Have you gotten the table set up?"
She nods and goes to sit on his lap. "Yes, what are you working on daddy?"
"This sweetie-" He shows her the device. It's a circle with 10 different colors alternating every few seconds. "This is the next step in evolution."
"Evolution, daddy? Are you a scientist now?" She giggles.
He smiles and kisses her on her forehead. "Right now, yes. Hopefully for a while, but if I finish this; next time, I will be an adventurer."
"Ohhhh, can I come?" The little girl asks in excitement.
"Yes. Of course, sweetie." He hugs her tight and then he laughs. "Come on, let's go eat with mommy one last time."
She jumps off his lap and holds out her hand. "Yayyy!"
The young man leaves the device on the table and leaves with his daughter. I take a look at the device and reach for it. As soon as I touch it, I jolt awake and feel Luna's hand squeeze mine.
"Kevin?"
"Don't worry, dear child. I just showed him where I was at," White says to her.
What did you see?
I shake my head. I don't know. I'm so confused.
"We are here."
I take a look in front of me and see forest and greenery until the end of space.
"What?" I look around. "What-"
"Step forward children," White clarifies.
Luna and I take another step and our scenery changes. Now in front of us is a destroyed palace. Beyond a few stairs up is a white and black building in ruins.
"Welcome to Chaos' home of destruction."
We make our way up the stairs and soon arrive at the entrance where in front of us sits a black being with red and black robes. He raises his red eyebrows and smiles wickedly.
He begins to laugh and the place rumbles as echoes of his mischievous laugh travel around.
"23 5 12 12, 23 5 12 12, 23 5 12 12. 25 15 21 2 18 15 21 7 8 20 20 8 5 13 20 15 13 5, White."
"What?" Luna questions. "What is he saying?"
I frown and begin to walk toward him. "What have you done? Where are Princess Eclipse and the rest of our friends."
He laughs and gets off of his seat. Not going to lie... He is tall.
"Stupid boy."
I feel it again. That pain in my chest but it feels nice somehow.
"Black stand down. You-"
Chaos laughs. "Your precious Black is no more. Thank you for making this easier for me. I will feast on your spirits and I will bring total domination on what you humans call the mortal world."
"Not a chance. We are here to stop you and get the answers that we want!" I raise my arm and my duel disk appears. "Luna, you ready?"
"Of course!" She does the same and her pink duel disk also appears.
"Are you challenging me to a duel?" Chaos laughs again. A black/red duel disk appears on his arm. "Very well. I will play your little pawn game and humor you for at least a few turns before the darkness consumes you both!"
Suddenly, a green light shines bright next to us and both me and Luna cover ourselves with our arms.
"What the-"
I next see Leo standing there confused and with his duel disk on his arm.
"Leo?" Luna questions and he looks toward us.
"Luna? Kevin? What's going on? Where-" He goes quiet for a bit. "Oh…"
"Hmm." I hear White say.
"Another soul for me to destroy. Is this your doing White?" Chaos questions. She shakes her head.
"Yes, I will help out!" Leo readies his duel disk. "Guys, Green asked me to come and help you guys against Chaos."
"Green?" Luna and Chaos ask.
He nods and he looks at Chaos. "You are going down!"
Chaos laughs again. "You need another puppet, White. Very well. No matter. Because we are doing a 3 vs 1 match. I start with 12000 life points. Each one of you gets 4000 and if your life points fall to zero, my dark shadows will consume you all and your souls will join the rest of my collection."
"Dream on, Chaos. We will defeat you and when we do, you will tell us what happened to The King and Queen!"
"Let's duel!"
No one's POV
(Kevin, Luna, and Leo Vs. CHAOS)
[4000, 4000, 4000 vs 12000]
Everyone draws their 5 cards. Leo looks at his hand and he smiles. I got to make my sister proud. I got to show Green that I am strong. "I will make the first move, I go first!"
Leo draws and he looks at the card he drew. "Perfect! I summon out my Morphtronic Scopen!" A black telescope appears and transforms into a small robotic creature with 800 ATK and 1400 Defense points. "Now since my Morphtronic Scopen is in attack mode, I can special summon another Morphtronic from my hand. Let's go, Morphtronic Radion!" A phone appears and transforms into a robotic creature with an antenna on its head. It has 1000 ATK and 900 DEF points. "Go! I tune my Level 3 Morphtronic Scopen with my level 4 Morphtronic Radion- Docking strength with courage to protect world peace! Synchro Summon! Envoy of love and justice, Power Tool Dragon!" A machine dragon-type monster, with a blue digger claw and a green flathead screwdriver as hands, appears with 2300 ATK and 2500 DEF points.
"Nice, Leo!" Luna compliments.
He smiles and continues, "With my dragon's effect, I can make you choose between 3 equip cards and whatever you pick, it gets added to my hand. The rest go back to my deck." 3 cards appear on the ground and Chaos points at the left one.
Leo nods and he smiles. "Exactly what I needed. I equip my Double Tool C&D to my Power Tool Dragon." His Dragon's attack points increase to 3300. "I place two face-down cards and I end my turn." Power Tool Dragon's attack points go back to 2300 due to the effect of Double Tool C&D.
Kevin frowns as he looks at his cards. No Princess cards at all. Do you want me to go? She asks him through his mind.
"Tell me, heroes. Why do you fight?" Chaos questions.
Kevin frowns and just as he's about to answer, Leo says, "Because you are the bad guy and you will be defeated."
"Oh, is that so? Did your precious Green tell you that?" He laughs.
"Yes."
"And you, Kevin? Has White told you why I want you?"
He shakes his head.
"Of course, she hasn't and why is that?"
Kevin looks at White and she shakes her head. "Don't listen to him."
"But he must know, dear White. Wouldn't Black say that to you if he was here?" He laughs again. "My dear boy, you are destined for awesome things."
He raises his eyebrows. "You deserve to know who you are and why you are here. Has she told you any of that?"
Kevin shakes his head.
Chaos shakes his head. "I can tell you everything you want to know. Where you came from and who you are, if you simply give up."
"Kevin," Luna whispers to him. Don't trust him.
He looks down and whispers. "Go, Luna. You go."
She nods and draws a card. "My turn. I summon Fairy Archer in attack mode." A cute redheaded fairy with yellow/red wings and a yellow-hearted bow appears with 1400 attack points and 600 defense points. "I then activate my fairy's effect which allows me to deal you 400 points of damage for every light monster I control." Her fairy takes aim and shoots out an arrow towards Chaos. It hits and he doesn't even flinch.

"I end my turn." She turns to Kevin who is looking down at the ground.
Are you okay? She asks worriedly.
Kevin looks up at her and nods. I think so. Nice shot for your turn. She gives him a smile and a nod.
"I see. You two can communicate by thoughts," Chaos adds. "You two are like those rulers I once faced."
"The King and Queen?" Kevin questions.
"Of Spiritus?" Luna adds.
Chaos laughs. "Yes, and it was their fate to fall to my powers."
"What did you do to them?" Kevin questions with some anger in his voice. "Tell me!"
Chaos smirks. "I squeezed their light from their souls."
Kevin angrily draws from his deck. No Princess card. At all… "I will do the same to you…"
He plays his spell card. "Crocodile Super Polymerization. If I don't have any monsters on my field. I can remove from play 'Crocodile' monsters from my deck to fusion summon." He grabs all his Crocodile cards and put them in his pocket. A spirit of each one of them appears and turns into a ghost. Their eyes turn black and they all fade into a dark light. From that, a 7ft human-like crocodile with a black hat on his head appears. It is wearing a red suit and has a long black staff in his hand. It has 4500 attack and 3500 defense points. "I fusion summon, Crocodile Ruler of Chaos!"
"Woah, that monster has a lot of attack points, Kevin," Leo compliments.
"Yes, and since it's my first turn, I can't attack. I end my turn."
Chaos grins and he raises his hands up to his chest. "A very powerful card you have there, Kevin. You see White wants to keep you restrained."
"What do you mean?" He questions confused.
"You have the potential to rule this world. Any world at that and I want to help you."
"Is that so?"
"Black…" White begins.
Chaos laughs and he draws from his deck. "Persistent in thinking he is still here, White."
"He is!" White declares.
"I activate my monster's effect from my hand." He shows his monster and a black mist comes out of his card. "By discarding Shadow and Light from my hand, I can add a ritual monster and a ritual spell from my deck to my hand."
"Ritual?" Luna asks.
Suddenly, Kevin feels dizzy and feels a sudden drop in temperature. He closes his eyes and sees a different place in his vision.
What the? Where am I?
He then sees huge entities roaming the forests and lands beyond the horizon. Each one is outlined in different colors; there's a blue one, a red one, a yellow one, a green one, an orange one, and a purple one.
That red one looks like a spider. It's like that purple spider mark I saw over satellite when I was dueling Jack.
Ha ha ha! Kevin looks around wondering where that voice is coming from. Players! You must defeat these immortals if you want to go back to your lives. As long as they remain, you will be stuck here in DAO forever!
Kevin's vision changes again and he finds himself in Chaos' palace. What was that… DAO?
"I activate the ritual spell card, 'The Sword of Chaos'." Chaos continues. He plays it and a red/black sword appears from the card. It glows and Chaos raises his arms out. He is covered by that mist from earlier and he laughs.
[Chaos' LP: 10000]
"When the light is devoured by the shadows, the darkness prevails and gives birth to chaos! Rise and bow down, 'Khaos Knight'!" The sword moves forward and from the ground, a black warrior with red glowing eyes appears with 2800 ATK and 2500 DEF. It grabs it and knives the ground below. Khaos Knight gets on one knee and bows to Chaos.
He sacrificed his life points to summon a strong monster. Luna tells Kevin. He ritual summoned…
This is bad, Kevin says to her.
"Khaos Knight, take what is yours!" It stands and faces Leo's synchro monster. It jumps towards it and it slashes its sword at Leo's dragon. Power Tool Dragon roars and its attack points decrease to 1150.
"What!?" Leo exclaims. Khaos' attack points increase to 3,950.
"My monster can strip your monster's attack points since it's a synchro monster. I now activate my spell card, 'Sword of Darkness'. With this, my monster gains attack points if its attack points are different than what they are supposed to be." His monster's attack points increase to 5100."
"They are higher now than Kevin's Crocodile monster," Leo points out.
"Exactly and now, attack Khaos Knight. Make him feel the darkness!" His monster raises his sword and it slashes Kevin's Crocodile.
[Kevin's LP: 3400]
Kevin's mark begins to shine. A blue aura covers him from the blast. "I activate Crocodile Super Polymerization from my graveyard. By removing it from play, I can negate my monster's destruction."
"Hahaha," Chaos laughs. "Unfortunately for you, my knight has an ability that allows me to attack again."
"What?!"
"Now go, attack Luna's fairy!"
Kevin looks at Luna with a worried expression and she says, It's okay. I'm ready.
But that's 3700 of your life points!
"Don't worry Luna, I activate my face-down card, 'Attack Redirect'. With this, when an opponent attacks and I control a synchro monster, I can redirect that attack to my dragon."
"Leo…"
He smiles at her and prepares as his card shines bright. Khaos Knight slashes his sword again at Leo's monster and It explodes.
"Haaaa!" Leo yells as the explosion wipes him off the ground. Luna yells, "Leo!" And he lands on the ground.
Kevin also goes to his sides and he sees his clothes all torn and scratches all over his body.

Leo's POV
One word; ouch… As I lay on the floor, for a second, I think of giving up. I can't though. My mind wanders to the conversation I had earlier with Green.
I had just gotten to bed and had fallen asleep when I woke up to that same green garden. Green was at the center taking care of her plants.
"You're here, Leo. You finally came."
"Yeah, why am I here again?"
She smiles and she touches a dying green plant. As soon as she does, it regrows and it regains its strength.
"Do you want to help us?"
"Us? What do you mean?" I ask in excitement. Even without knowing what it was, I really wanted to do something like any superhero does. They help with no questions asked.
"Kevin and Luna are about to fight Chaos. Do you want to help them stop this evil from destroying your world and mine?"
Of course, I said yes. Now as I lay on the ground with barely 50 points in my name, I should have probably said no.
"It will be a dangerous thing to join them in this battle." Yeah, I see now. "But, I promise, you will help your sister."
Luna! "Leo! Please get up… Please." I hear her sobs and somehow, I manage to find the strength to get on one knee. Luna is there and Kevin is also there, trying to help me stand back up.
"I'm okay…Luna." I tell her with the reassurance that I think I have, but something feels off.
Chaos laughs and I see Kevin make a fist. "What's so funny, Chaos?"
He grins. "This. A mere mortal like him has managed to withstand a powerful blow like that."
"Of course…" I tell him. Why am I having trouble breathing? "All for my sister."
"How touching. Unfortunately for you, that won't last long."
[Leo's LP: 49.]
"What? Why are Leo Life points decreasing?" Luna questions. "Leo?!"
I fall back again to the ground without realizing it.
[Leo's LP: 48]
"I activate… My Power Tool's dragon's effect… By removing Double Tool C&D from it, it is not… destroyed." And I black out.
Kevin's POV
"What is this?" I question seeing our surroundings beginning to be covered by a black fog. I see my and Luna's mark glow. "White?"
I look around and see her gone now.
My mark. It hurts. Luna says to me. She has tears in her eyes and I see her trying to wake Leo up. "Leo, please get up, Leo." She whispers. "Kevin. What happened to Leo?"
"Chaos! What did you do?" I question and feel the warmth on my chest.
Chaos laughs. "I didn't do anything, dear boy. You see Leo took a heavy blow and survived and now, he is barely staying alive because of my terrain. The darkness is going to consume him when he runs out of strength."
"That's not fair!" I exclaim. "He... He..."
"He wanted this! Now, where is White when you need help? Where is your help in these dark times?" He laughs and places 3 cards face down. "Where is your savior, Kevin? Give up and I promise I will not let you down. I will tell you where you came from and why you are here. Just forfeit. You know you want to."
If it means-
Don't you dare give up. Don't forfeit. Luna says in my mind. I feel her pain and it hurts my heart.
But… You, Leo. You guys are suffering.
She nods but gives me a heartwarming smile. Don't use that as an excuse to give in. You have life points. Make the best of it and don't worry about me or Leo. We will be okay.
I look down and make a fist. Where is White… What can she even do to help us now?
"It's my turn, I draw." Luna looks at her cards and thinks for a bit. "I play 'Fairy Tale- Luna' in defense mode." A cute purple-haired girl with yellow fluffy ears appears. It has 1850 attack and 1000 defense points. "With her effect, I can target your Khaos Knight monster to send it back to your hand unless you send another Khaos Knight from your deck to the graveyard."
Chaos grins. "Lucky me, that I have another one in my deck." He gets the card and sends it to the graveyard.
Luna sighs as her cute monster frowns. She sets two cards face-down cards. "I switch my Fairy Archer to defense mode and activate its effect. You take 400 points of damage for every light monster I have." Her Archer aims and shoots an arrow at Chaos. He smirks. "I end my turn."
[Chaos' LP: 9200]
I did all I could do this turn. Use my face-down cards and take him down. She tells me. I nod.
I need to draw a Princess card. So I can help your brother.
[Leo's LP: 40]
I Draw and frown. Junk Synchron. I look at my cards and try to decide what to do.
"Do you feel it?" Chaos asks me. "Do you feel the despair as you can't do anything to save your friends…" I grit my teeth and make a fist. I can feel that feeling again like I did when I was dueling Leo. What's going on?
Kevin? Luna asks and I see my hands beginning to glow Blue. Suddenly, the aura turns black and I raise my eyebrows.
"I activate my trap card," Chaos declares. "'Rolling the Game'. Let me help you, Kevin. You see with this card, each one of us can roll a dice on our turns. If you land on a 2, 4, or 6 you must return that amount of cards back to the deck and draw half of the number of cards you put back. If you can't, you lose life points equal to the roll amount x 200."
I look at my cards and frown. Why would he help us? Kevin, are you going to do it? Luna questions.
I look at her and wonder. I need to. If I can't get a Princess card or anything that can help Leo, he is going to lose.
She nods. I hold out my hand. "I will roll." A black dice appears in my hand and I can feel it heavy in my hand.
"With this, you will be able to help your dear friends. Does that make me the bad guy here?" Chaos questions. "Where is White when your friend here is suffering?"
I frown. Kevin…
He is right. Where is White? Why isn't she helping us? She expects us to beat Chaos when she is not here to help us in this fight! I then feel it. That anger and annoyance inside my heart. I feel a pinch on my arm where my mark is and I see it begin to change to black. "What the-"
"Yes!" Chaos celebrates. "Embrace it, Kevin."
I shake it off and throw the dice. It bounces on the ground and soon lands on the number 4. I take 3 of my Junk cards and The Tricky and return them back into the deck. My deck shuffles.
Kevin. What's- Ke-
I hear Luna scream and I see her fall to her knees. I see her touch her arm where her mark is.
"Luna?" I ask in concern and go to her side. Can you hear me?
"I'm okay. It hurts…" She tells me.
"I can't hear you anymore." I try again and she shakes her head.
I look at my deck and see it beginning to glow a black color. I touch my deck and feel it in pain. I draw and raise my eyebrows. Prince Khaos and Prince Capture. I never had these cards before.
"Where are your friends, Kevin?" Chaos continues. "Where is your help? You can't even help your dear friend, Leo. How do you expect to help yourself and win?"
[Leo's LP: 30]
I had enough. "Shut up!" I scream. I feel it again. I look at my arm and see that black mark from when I was dueling Leo and that guy; Kit. It has entirely replaced the blue mark that I had before. Instead of it being a triangle with a half-moon inside; ends pointing to the right, it is a circle with a half-moon on the inside. Its ends point to the right.
"Kevin…" Luna whispers at me. I look at her and see her sad and in pain. "Your mark… I can feel it. Don't give in please."
I look back at my cards and then look at Chaos. He has a very mischievous grin and that fuels my anger inside.
"I summon out Prince Khaos in attack mode!" A blue-haired guy with black eyes and a very nice-looking purple suit appears with 2000 attack and 1800 defense points.
"Prince…" Luna says. She looks at her deck and I continue. "On the turn that this card is summoned, I can special summon another 'Prince' card from my deck." I look at my deck and see some blank cards. I don't know what happened to my 'Princess' cards, but these 'Prince' cards are here to help me and I will gladly accept their help. "I summon out, 'Prince Randon' in defense mode." A white-haired guy with black eyes and a light blue suit appears with 100 attack and 2000 defense points. "The cool thing about 'Prince' Randon is that its level changes based on its position. Since he is in defense mode, it is treated as a level 1 monster." I feel my mark beginning to hurt a bit more, but I decide to ignore it. "Now go, I tune my level 4 'Prince Khaos' with my level 1 'Prince Randon'- My mark glows brightly.
"Yes," Chaos says. "Embrace it!"
"When hope is shattered, a new warrior will rise to fight back-" Prince Khaos jumps and glows. It turns into 4 green circular rings and it surrounds Prince Random. It turns into a yellow outline and a black star appears in its place. The black light explodes. "I synchro summon, 'Prince Moondust'!" A warrior with red/orange hair appears. It has black eyes and it wears a dark red suit. He smiles mischievously. "When I synchro summon this card, I can decrease my monster's attack points to give one player Life points equal to half its attack points." I point to Leo and my monster's attack points go to 0.
[Leo's LP: 1130]
"Oh, what happened?" I see Leo trying to get back up. Luna is there helping him out.
Luna sighs and she smiles at me. "Thank you."
"You managed to help out your friend and in doing so, you lost your monster's power. How will you fight back now, Kevin?" Chaos laughs and I smile.
"Glad you asked. One of Prince Moondust's effects is that by tributing one of my monsters, I can target your Khaos Knight and its attack points will decrease by the same amount." My Crocodile Ruler of Chaos disappears in a bright light and a white light heads to Chaos' monster. It encircles it and its attack points decrease to 600 attack points.
"Ha! My monster still has more attack points."
I grin. Enjoy it, Chaos. "Attack Prince Moondust with rays of the moon!" I declare.
Chaos laughs. "You have lost it."
"Kevin?"
My warrior holds out his hands and the moon appears above us. It shines a bright white light on Khaos Knight, but it raises up its sword and blocks the attack. It repels and slashes Prince Moondust. It explodes.
"Ha!" I take cover and Luna yells.
"Kevin!"
[Kevin's LP: 2800]
I hold my ground and grin. "I play my quickplay spell 'Prince Capture' from my hand." I activate it and the card appears on the field. A moon appears and shines bright. "You see when my synchro monster is destroyed, I can summon a 'Prince' Synchro monster from my extra deck that is one or two levels higher than 'Prince Moondust'."
"What?"
I smile and grab my new synchro monster. "I synchro summon-" A black mist appears from the explosion and transforms into a black orb. It explodes. "'Prince Oblivoid'!" A warrior with rainbow hair, black eyes, a dark blue suit, and a white star on its back appears. It has 2400 attack and 2000 Defense points.
"Woah." I hear Leo say. He's back on his feet now. I relax and nod.
"Interesting. You sacrificed your monster and some of your life points to summon out something better," Chaos says. He smiles.
"Yup," I nod in agreement. "A small price to pay, but it's worth it to summon something that will surely end you. Now, I activate my monster's effect." My monster's back star outline glows. "When there is a monster on your field with attack points different than its original, I can decrease it to 0." His Khaos Knight drops to one knee. "That's not all because I can also inflict you damage equal to its original attack points."
"Hmmm." A White mist appears around Chaos and white light shoots out of it. He groans.
[Chaos LP: 6400]
"I activate my trap card 'Rules of The Ancient'," Chaos says. A black altar appears from his trap card. "When I take damage from an effect I can play soul counters equal to the amount received by 1000." He raises his hands and two black orbs appear. They circle around the altar and then they go in.
Soul Counters: 2
"That won't help you, Chaos!" I tell him. "Go attack his Khaos Knight with Colorful slash!" My warrior nods and makes his way to Chaos' monster. It reveals a blue sword and it slashes the enemy's monster. It explodes.
[Chaos LP: 4000]
Chaos smirks. "I activate the trap card. 'Ritual's demise'." His card reveals and he grabs a card from his deck. 'This lets me add another copy of The Sword of Chaos to my hand."
"I place one card face down and that does it." I look at Luna and she smiles at me.
I try to smile back, but then notice the mark on her arm. It's also black. "Are you okay?" I ask.
She gives me a nod and another reassuring smile. I look at my cards. I will protect you, Luna.
No one's POV
Luna looks at her arm where her new black mark is. It is now an upside-down triangle with a half-moon; ends pointing to the left. Kevin? Are you okay? Kevin? She can't hear him in her thoughts anymore, but now she can feel it. The complete anger and frustration from him. He wants to take down Chaos, but she knows that "this" is not the way to go. She's got to find a way to reach him. Without this… She looks back at her mark and groans. It's like needles against her skin. It's annoying.
Luna looks at her brother who is now back to his feet thanks to her boyfriend. She sighs as she watches him look intensely at Chaos. He's barely standing with ripped clothes and marks all over his body, but he's ready to face whatever Chaos throws at him. He's changing and I'm so happy he is. Suddenly, she feels something bad.
"Luna!" She hears Kevin call her and she finds him with his arms around her waist. Luna almost fainted.
"I'm okay. It's okay," she reassures him. This is not the time to be weak!
Chaos laughs. "So the great descendent of The Queen of Spiritus is feeling over the weather. See, my terrain is making all of you tired and soon enough, none of you will stand."
Luna feels Kevin tense as he holds her close. She knows something now. She can't be without him. Internally, she laughs. She's just a little girl, so what does she know about that feeling? Luna closes her eyes and remembers the love her parents had when they were around. That look they would give each other when they just looked at one another even across the room. She knew she was little then and also wanted something like that. Something so special, but now she really knows what it is.
"Hey, I gotcha." Kevin's voice reaches to her and she opens her eyes again. "Make your move, Chaos!"
"If you insist," he says and draws from his deck. "I activate the effect of my Ritual's Demise from my graveyard. By removing it from play, I can add one ritual monster from my deck to my hand." He grabs his trap card and throws it up in the air. It disappears. He then grabs a card from his deck and smiles as he adds it to his hand. "Now, I play The Ritual Spell Card, Sword of Chaos!" He plays it again and a red/black sword appears from the card. It glows and Chaos raises his arms out. "By discarding my Dark and White monster card, I can automatically ritual summon without paying any life points and the best part is that if I don't control any other monsters, I can gain the life points instead!" The black fog around covers him and chants. "When despair rises, hope is devoured by the shadows. Break from your chains, I command you to rise! 'Khaos Darkness Dragon'!" The sword moves forward and from the ground, a black light shoots out to release a big spiky black dragon. It has red eyes and red spikes on its arms and wings. It has 2800 attack and 3000 defense points.
"I activate my trap, 'Bad Reaction to Simochi'!" Luna intervenes. Her trap card reveals and shoots out a white light to Chaos.
He groans in pain.
[Chaos' LP: 2000]
"As long as I'm standing, you won't get off the hook that easily," Luna says with a smile.
Soul Counters: 4
"No matter," Chaos says. "Because of you, my altar is now at 4 counters. Halfway to your demise. I now activate my 'Khaos Darkness Dragon's effect. Once per turn, I can target one of my Ritual monsters in my graveyard and special summon it."
"Oh no," Kevin says.
Chaos' dragon roars and shoots a black beam to the ground. From it, Khaos Knight rises with 2800 attack and 2500 defense points. "Time to have your efforts wasted! Go, Khaos Darkness Dragon. Attack Leo's monster with Dark Beam of Destruction!"
Leo frowns. "Oh no…" He hears Luna say.
Chaos' Dragon prepares as it takes a deep breath. At that moment, Kevin makes a fist and feels time slow down as a hard decision presents itself. He knows he should do something to not let Leo's monster get destroyed. Why am I deciding whether to help him or not? Of course, I need to help him.
Do you?
Kevin closes his eyes and imagines the next scenes in his head. Chaos' Dragon destroys Leo's monster. He moans as his life points drop to 630. "Leo!" Luna yells as he is lifted from the ground and flies a few feet back. She goes to him and Kevin quickly follows. They both see his eyes open, but they seem without life. "LEO!" Luna screams and she tries to wake Leo up.
Chaos laughs. "He's gone. His life was being drained by the second already and that punch was enough to knock him out! Due to the effect of Khaos Darkness Dragon, since he destroyed a synchro monster, it can attack again."
"No…" And it does. Kevin tries to shield them both but the force of his dragon's attack feels like the burden of the world on his shoulders. They are both knocked to the ground. As Kevin lays on the ground, his eyes fall on Luna. He gets up with all his remaining strength and he gets on his knees. He sees the devastation before him. He sees Luna's life drained from her eyes. He has failed. Chaos attacks again and destroys Kevin's monster. It attacks again and wipes out Leo.
Luna's turn is missed because she can't do anything anymore. Kevin draws but he doesn't care to look anymore. He has failed and there is no point in continuing so he gives in. He forfeits and Chaos' home terrain consumes him in the total darkness.
Kevin's POV
Where am I? I question as I try to open my eyes. I can't though and I see total darkness. Did I lose? Did we fail?
No, child. I hear a voice. That voice that belongs to someone familiar. You can open your eyes if you think it will make it easier for you.
I decide to and the white light shines all around me. I see white space. Infinite white space and for some reason, I think, I have been here before.
Yes, and you know already where we are.
I nod. "This is your home, White." She materializes before my eyes.
"Why did you leave us?" I question and feel the anger in my chest.
"My powers are limited right now. Chaos' terrain has made me weak too and during all this time, as his powers grow, mine weakened. I left because I am weak."
I guess I can understand that, but, "Why did you bring me here?"
"I need you to remember your goal." White then takes a seat on a Clear White throne.
My goal… I then see various scenes play in my head. "My goal is to find my parents. My goal is to return home…" I then see her. My dear Luna. "My goal is to make her happy."
White nods and looks deep within my soul. "Fight it because I can't help you. Fight it and I will give you the strength to fight Chaos. I promise you that."
Suddenly, I find myself back in the duel. Chaos has declared his attack and I remember to protect Luna. That means I can't let her brother get hurt. If he does, it will shatter her heart and I promised to protect her no matter what.
"I play Synchro's Tricky!" I declare and watch as the trap card glows and makes Chaos' dragon attack my warrior instead.
"Haaaa!"
(Kevin's LP: 2400)
"By removing from play my Speed Synchron from my hand, my warrior's destruction is canceled."
Chaos sighs. "Persistent. I end my turn."
"Thank you, Kevin."
I nod and he draws. He smiles analyzing the card he just got. "I activate the spell card Morphtronic Accelerator. This allows me to return my Videon to my deck to destroy one of your cards. I choose Rules of the Ancient."
"I won't let you. By sending my Khaos Knight to the GY, I can prevent my card's destruction," Chaos says.
"Dang… At least, I can draw one more card from my deck." He does and nods to Luna. She nods back. "I activate Luna's spell card on the field, Horn of the Unicorn, which raises my monster's attack and defense by 700." A white unicorn horn appears on Leo's dragon head and its attack points rise to 3000.
"Awesome Leo!" Luna compliments.
He also activates Power Tool dragon's effect and makes Chaos choose a card so Leo can add it to his hand. He gets Morphtronic Cord. "Go Power Tool Dragon! Attack Chaos' Dragon!" His dragon lowers his head and a white light shoots from his unicorn horn.
(Chaos' LP: 1800)
"I activate my dragon's effect. By removing from play Khaos Knight from my graveyard, I can prevent my dragon's destruction." The black mist around covers his dragon and shields it. Leo frowns and he looks at his hand. "I place one card face down and I end my turn."
Luna's POV
That card Leo place can help us. Why didn't Leo use it to keep his dragon safe? I frown, feeling my mark again. I wish I could hear you, Kevin. I look at him and see him looking down on the ground with fists by his side. I can't hear him, but I can feel it. Please, Kevin. Don't give in.
Somehow someway, he feels it because he turns to look at me and when our eyes meet, I can feel him. Please. I give him a soft smile and he closes his eyes and shakes his head. Please…
Mom. Mom. That voice. I know that voice. I scared… Please mom where are you?
That's Princess Eclipse. I look at my deck and wonder. I place my hand on it to feel it. Don't be scared. I am here. " I draw!"
I drew Princess Protection. I will protect you daughter. I remember reading that line every time The Queen would put her daughter to bed. Chaos' minions tried to kidnap her, but her mother was always there. I will be there to always protect Princess Eclipse. I look at Kevin again and his eyes meet mine. I smile at him again. I will protect you too. "I play your trap Chaos, 'Rolling the game'." I then feel it. My mark burns on my skin, but I try my best to not give it too much attention.
"Luna?" I hear Kevin's question.
"It's okay. I'm okay." The black dice appears floating in front of me and I take it. It feels heavy, but I still roll it. I will also protect you, Kevin. I know how I feel about you and without you, I don't know how things would be. My dice lands on the ground and bounces once.
Chaos laughs, "Perfect. As a last despair, she has chosen to embrace it and roll her life!"
It bounces twice. "What will she get?! Hahahaha!"
It lands and I smile. "A one, Chaos, and when I roll a one, I can just draw a card with no penalty."
Chaos frowns. Smiling, I draw another card. The card glows and for a second, I see Princess Eclipse, but the card begins to glow and it transforms into someone else. "Thank you," I whisper, closing my eyes. I then feel it in my arm. I look at my mark and see it turning back to the old one that I have come to love and appreciate.
"Luna, your mark," Leo says to me. I nod at him and smile. "I first activate my Archer's effect. Which lets me inflict 400 points of damage to you for every light monster I control."
My fairy takes aim and she shoots out an arrow at Chaos.
[Chaos' LP: 1000]
"Nice Luna," Leo compliments. "You're almost out of Life points!"
Chaos grins and raises his hands. The black fog around closes in and for some reason, I feel the air heavy.
"Woah, that…" Leo gets on his knees.
[Leo's LP: 1129]

"Leo!" I go to his side and I grab his arm.
"I'm okay… I'm just tired," he gives me a weak smile.
"Stop it, Chaos," Kevin demands.
He laughs. "The more Leo is here, the weaker he will get. He isn't like you two. He doesn't hold a mark nor is he in any way special. I am really surprised he has lasted this long."
I turn back to Leo and see him breathing hard. "Don't listen to him, Leo." He gives me a soft smile again.
"I will take you down and I will start with this!" My two monsters disappear. "With the power invested in me, I call upon a beautiful soul!" I look at the card and imagine Princess Eclipse smiling at me. She nods and I smile. "I tribute my Fairy Archer and Fairy Tale- Luna to summon 'Queen Eclipse'!" A majestic lady with orange/red hair and magical blue eyes with blue flames around them appears with 0 attack and 0 defense points. She has a glamorous red dress and flames surround the hems of it. She looks so much like The Queen of Spiritus.
"The Queen…" Chaos steps back and for a second, he seems scared.
She turns to me and smiles. She nods and I nod back. "Chaos. It's time this ends now. I place one card face down and I end my turn."
I turn to Kevin and I see him looking at The Queen with a focused expression.
"That's the Queen?" Suddenly, he gets on his knees and says, voice shaking, "I'm sorry…"
The Queen walks to him and knees down. She raises his chin with her hand and it seems like she whispers in his ear because his expression changes to surprise. "I'm sorry…"
He has tears in his eyes now and The Queen shakes her head. She touches his hand and smiles. He nods and stands back up. "It's my turn. I draw." He looks at his card and frowns. His arm falls to the side.
"Kevin?" I question with concern.
He shakes his head. "I end my turn."
"Hahahaa," Chaos suddenly laughs. "You may have been able to summon out The Queen but she can't do anything because her powers are sealed!" He draws. "Time to finish what I started. I use my dragon's effect which lets me resummon my most trusted servant. Rise again, Khaos Knight!" His Knight appears from the ground again with 2800 Attack and 2500 defense points. "Now, it's time you faced true despair. By activating my spell card 'Chaos Calling', I can sacrifice my Khaos Knight to advance the ritual for my most powerful servant."
Soul Counters: 12
"What?" Leo exclaims. He puts a hand over his heart. Oh no… "Leo!"
(Leo's LP: 1095)
He falls to his knees again. I try to help him but he shakes his head. "I'm okay. It's okay."
I look over to Kevin and he has his eyes on the floor. I then see a black aura around him. No… Kevin, please.
"Hahahaa. Now that my Trap card has enough counters. I can remove 12 of them to ritual summon a ritual monster directly from my deck!" His deck begins to glow a black light and he grabs the card. "Despair fuels its power. Darkness takes over this pathetic world and feasts on these mere mortals. I ritual summon Khaos X Demon!" The ground below begins to crack and I try to balance myself as the ground shakes. In front of Chaos, the ground collapse and some kind of black creature with red glaring eyes begin to come out. It has long arms and longs legs.
"What is that?" I question and suddenly feel scared. The temperature has dropped and I feel it. I feel the despair, the hopelessness, and the doubt that we will fail. I once failed Ancient Fairy Dragon. What is it that I won't fail again? I'm weak and can't be someone to lean on when things are hopeless.
"The Time has come. Give in heroes and meet your fate." The demon swings out his long arms and a strong wind passes by us. "Haaaaa!" I yell as the force lifts me, my boyfriend, and Leo off the ground and we crash a few feet back. As we lay on the floor, I can't help but cry a bit.
What are we going to do now...

A/N: And there you have it. Pretty intense things happened in this chapter. Kevin is changing and at first, I wasn't too sure about that change, but it is necessary for what I have planned for him in later chapters.
