Chapter 23 - My Only Pet
In the previous chapter, the final battle between the exorcists and the evil deities were continued. Finally, Jerryson and Ceres were facing with each other for the final strike despite Allen's protests. During in the middle of the fight, Hera intervened in, fighting against her instead by using her forbidden attack ability in which she allowed to died in an instant. Jerryson tries to provoked her but it failed and Hera finally killed her, leaving Jerry, Allen and Corinne to be unconscious. A few hours later at the Black Order headquarters, Jerry was finally regained consciousness with his animal friends surrounded him. However he tells to them that the prophecy will gonna arise soon as possible. On the other hand, the other exorcists were surprised that there is something wrong with Allen's body in which only Corinne and Jerryson knows of what Ceres said before she dies.
Will our mouse exorcist protagonist can able to find a solution to prevent the dark prophecy and saved his only master from the brink of death?

At the outside of the room, Thomas went approached to his mentor Lavi.
" Master, how was Sir Walker? "
" Not so good, Thomas. " not in a good mood
" Why not? "
" He felt so much terrible pain.. just like how the dark prophecy said.. "
" said about what? "
" The child from the shadows.. will gonna born soon as possible.. "
" Say what?! you mean a child of darkness, isn't it? "
" Precisely it is.. "
" Uh, is there's a solution to prevent it? If it will gonna happened, Sir Walker's life will gonna be at terrible risk. "
" I know that we are all so worried for Allen including General Cross. Maybe Jerry can able to find a solution to prevent it.. "
" But in where? "
" It will be a secret one.. but for now, Miss Artagnan will be guarding him at the room. "

At the inside of the room, Corinne was guarding and watching at Allen, was still able to breathed but with a little much pain that he felt on his body.
A few minutes later, she seen him that he had regained a little bit consciousness.
" Allen, you are awake. "
He turned his head and said " Corinne.. why are you here? "
" To guard and watch you of course. "
" Where was Jerryson? I don't seen him. Is he's well? "
" Uh, he just went out in somewhere.. finding a solution to prevent that dark prophecy.. but of course he was getting well that much.. he had awoke a few hours ago. "
" I see about it.. I guess I'm getting painful than ever.. I guess that the witch Ceres had been totally sexual assaulted me that much.. just like how Patricia Dalton did this to me.. " tries to move but he can't
" Just hold still, Allen. You will gonna be alright. Jerry will gonna come back with a cure. "
" And the others? "
" They were at the outside.. I guess all of us were getting worried about you and your condition. "
" It was? "
" Mhmm... but I'm afraid that Hera was not with us anymore.. "
" Seems so.. she had sacrificed her own life just to saved us.. she was looked like more than a goddess.. but she was no longer with me again.. " with a little sad expression on his face
She hold his other hand, in which Allen reacted in surprise.
" Don't you worry, Allen. I'm still right here to look and to take care of you no matter what. I had sweared that I will gonna protect you from harm and great dangers... with honor and dignity.. "
" Corinne.. "
" .. is because I loved you more than everything.. "
He smiled at her and said " I loved you too, Corinne. And besides, you haven't given up on me since we first met with each other. You are far more different from any other ladies.. "
" Yeah, and one more thing.. when the war problem was over, we should getting married. "
" Wa.. wait.. getting married? " with a little blush on his face
" Of course, is there's something wrong with that? "
" Bu.. but.. that was too sudden to do that, Corinne. Hold on.. did my master Cross told you that? "
" Uh, yes.. he had promised to me that I will gonna marry you.. and besides that.. Jerryson need some parents to looked after with.. and besides, he didn't know of his real origin. Since he haven't one, maybe we should be his foster adopted parents in the near future.. "
" So.. are you saying that Jerry will be our own foster son? "
" Exactly it is.. that is why we will gonna getting married first.. to have a complete family.. a real family.. "
And so, Allen had finally understood that Jerry needs a father to looked after him.
At the outside of the room, Inspector Howard Link was getting devastated with brokenhearted expression, had realized that she truly loves Allen Walker so much although he thought that she didn't recognize or awared of his real feelings for her although she was falling in love to someone else.
Somehow, his facial mood was been noticed by Yu Kanda, who was passing by at the other side of the corridor.
" Is there's something wrong, Sir Link? You looked so very doubted. "
" Oh, it was just you, Mr Kanda. It was very nothing.. " didn't turn his back, out of his good mood
" Let me guess, I guess Miss Artagnan was truly felled in love to Mr. Shortstack, huh? "
" How did you know that? "
" I had seen that in your face.. filled with loneliness and brokenhearted.. "
" Will you mind just leaved me for a moment? I need some fresh air. " still not in a good mood
" Oh, okay.. "
And he left the spot, making Kanda was getting wondered of his reaction.
" I might be thinking that.. he was still in love to Miss Artagnan.. despite she was already fell in love to Mr. Shortstack.. do it think that Chief Komui and the Central Headquarters knows about it?... "
On the other hand at the cafeteria, the other exorcists and the staffs of the Black Order were having their own conversation with each other.
" Geesh.. I'm started to getting worried for Allen. " Chaozil said
" If the dark prophecy will gonna be fulfilled, there is no way that we could win against a dead evil goddess. " Bookman stated
" I hoped that he was not in terrible pain that much.. " Krory said
" I'm afraid we are all so very worried for Allen's condition... even Chief Komui was worried as well.. " Reever said
Lenalee enters in
" So.. how was the meeting goes? " Reever asked
" I guess my brother and the members of the Central Headquarters were having a private discussion on how to find a way to remove off the dark offspring from Allen's body. " she said in response
" It was? " Krory asked
" Precisely it is although Jerry was still struggling in finding a solution. I guess he was totally worried for Allen as well.. he said to me that he was much more than a mentor or an ally.. " Lenalee stated
" Hold on.. what are you referring to? " Reever asked her
" Are you telling that Jerryson needs a guardian, isn't it? " Miranda Lotto asked
" Yes, it is. "
They were surprised of what she had said.
" I will gonna explained to all of you of everything.. " she said in a calm manner
At the meeting room, Chief Komui, the generals and the Central Headquarters members were having their private discussion. But somehow, Malcolm Rouvelier noticed that Howard Link was still not in a good mood, not paying attention. This makes everyone were getting wondering of his strange reaction.
" Mr Link, are you still paying attention or not? I guess you are not listening to the conversation. This is a serious matter! " Rouvelier asked in a loud voice
" Sorry, Sir. I was just thinking of something on my mind.. " he replied
" Uh, I guess we have to set aside for that later after this.. I guess we are running out of time. " Chief Komui told him in a calm manner
" Sorry for my harshness, Chief. Alright, shall we proceed then? " Rouvelier said
Back at the recovery room, Allen had felt much terrible pain on his body in which Corinne looked at the full moon at the outside, in which it was turned dark reddish.
" This is can't be good... "
She turned her head back to Allen, and holding him in a normal tone manner " Just hold still, Allen. Jerryson will gonna returned back with the cure. "
Then, the animal exorcists Mata, Kirei, Siren, Baldo and Thomas enters in. Upon seeing Allen's foot was started to getting bleeding, they were surprised in horror.
" Oh no! His foot was getting bleeding. " Baldo said, with a surprise expression on his face
" Oh my.. " Siren said
" What should we do now? " Mata asked Corinne
" Called Lenalee and the others, quick! " Corinne told them
" We will " Kirei responded
The four were left out with the exception of Thomas, was still standing beside her.
" Just I expected to.. " he uttered
" Yeah, you say so.. I guess it was finally coming.. " Corinne said
" I can't take this much longer.. I guess I'm gonna died.. to be reunited with my foster adopted father Mana in heavens.. I can't take this anymore.. " Allen said, felt the terrible pain on his body
" No, you will never died, Allen. We can't let allowed the dark prophecy of the evil goddess will gonna be succeeded.. Jerryson will gonna returned back with the cure and to healed you up.. " Corinne told him in a calm manner
" But how much long? " he asked, with an anxious facial expression
" Just in a few hour, I'm so sure of it. You should stayed strong, okay? Jerryson has not given up on you, trust me. " Corinne answered in response, with her hand holding along with his
" Okay.. I will never ever give up on him no matter what the cost.. after all, he was more than a friend, an ally or a secret apprentice.. more than everything.. "
Corinne smiled of what he had said.
A few moments later, Lenalee and the other exorcists arrives in and they were shocked of what they had saw.
" Just I had expected... the dark prophecy will gonna fulfilled as she had said.. " Lavi said
" Any ideas? Where was Jerryson? " Kanda asked him
" He's was still looking for the cure to removed off that thing.. " Lavi answered
" Just hold still, Allen.. you are gonna be alright.. " Miranda said, with encouragement
" This is was an unexpected.. if Jerry does not bring the cure.. Allen's life will be over for real.. " Bookman stated
" No way! It can't be.. " Timothy said, with a surprise
(Back at the meeting room)
Chief Komui smashed both of his hands at the table and said in a loud voice " What? Removing the offspring from his body by killing? That's was too brutal! "
" I know that, Chief but I'm afraid we have no option but to slain off the dark offspring from Allen Walker's body or if we don't, his life will be in terrible vain.. " Rouvelier said
" But there is some other way to prevent it. Killing from the body was not a good option. " Chief Komui said
" Do you really think that Sir Jerryson can able to handled in this crisis? I'm afraid he can't able to reached on time.. " Klaud Nine asked General Cross Marian
" Jerryson was far more different from all of us humans.. but his strong determination and loyalty was still on Allen.. and besides, he will never give up that easily.. he was started to getting act as a mature one.. " Cross Marian replied
" Are you really saying that Jerryson will be succeeded? " Froi Tiedoll asked
Cross Marian just nodded his head, stated that it was a yes.
Rouvelier sighed and said " I guess Jerryson was far more different from us.. but somehow.. the fate of this war will be lies on him right now.. "
(Back at the recovery room)
More blood was coming out of Allen's feet.
" This is can't be right! The birth of the child of darkness will gonna arise.. " Lavi said, with a surprise expression
" Do you really think that Jerry will gonna returned back? " Chaozil asked Noise Marie
" He will gonna returned back sooner.. I'm so sure of it.. " Noise Marie answered in response
" Just hang on, Allen.. just hang on.. " Lenalee said
A few minutes later, Jerryson had finally arrived back, holding the antidote on his hand. When they had seen him, they were surprised.
" Jerry! " Baldo said
" You had came back. " Kirei said
" So, what kind of antidote did you brought? " Mata asked
" I will gonna explained everything later. " Jerry answered
And he went to Allen's aid. When Allen sees him, he was also surprised.
" Jerry?... " in a little weakened state
" Right here, Master.. I had already have the cure. "
" Really? "
Then, he signaled Thomas to get a cup. After a few minutes later, he returned back with the cup and handled to Jerry.
So, he poured the antidote liquid on the cup.
" What kind of antidote was that, Jerry? " Kirei asked
" I will gonna tell this thing later. " Jerry said in response
After pouring the antidote liquid on the cup, he slowly handled to Allen.
" Here, Master. Drink it. "
He followed of what he had said.
" Are you really sure that it will gonna work it out? "
" Trust me, Master. Just drink it.. "
And so, he drank the whole antidote liquid from the cup. After that, they were waiting of what will gonna happened next.
" Are you really sure that it will gonna work, Mouse Moron? " Kanda asked him
" Of course, it is.. Kanda.. I swear. " Jerry answered in response
" Come on, work.. " Krory said
A few minutes later, Allen vomited out the dark offspring out from his body. Much to their surprise, it was an immature male child, with blood on it.
" This child.. I might be thinking that it was not developed at it full state.. " Bookman stated
" You mean reached until 9 months, isn't it? " Lavi asked
" No way! " Thomas said, with a surprise
" So.. what will gonna do with this thing? Allen can't raised a child of darkness by his own. " Lenalee asked
" Just slaughtered it " Jerry responded
" Are you really sure? " Mata asked
Jerryson just nodded his head, stated as a yes. And so, the other exorcists with the help of Reever and the Black Order staffs, they had killed off the offspring and buried at the outside of the headquarters.
As the dark offspring was gone, Allen's health condition was finally getting better. Also, the dark blood full moon had been faded away, returned back to its original state.
Somehow, Allen hugged Jerryson tightly.
" Thank for saving me from the brink of death, Jerry.. I couldn't make it without you.. " with strong emotions on his face
" I had do this just for you, Master.. and besides, I will never ever abandoned you anymore again. I will gonna protect you with all I have. "
Allen tapped his hand on his head and said " Oh, Jerry.. My Only Pet.. I loved you so much.. "
" I loved you so much, Master Allen.. I mean.. my foster adopted dad.. "
This is the first time that Jerryson called him " Dad ".
Back at the meeting room, one of the Central Headquarters came in and telled to them that Allen had finally recovered from the brink of death, in which everyone they were surprised in astonished, including General Cross Marian. But somehow, the red haired general was just smiled, realized that Jerryson had did the right thing.
And so, they ended the meeting discussion. But somehow for Inspector Howard Link, he tries to went approached to Corinne, wanted her to talk with him.
But somehow, it was all too late for him when he had witnessed that Corinne kissed Allen on the face.
" Good night, Allen. "
" You too, Corinne. "
Before she left the room, she placed a blanket around on him and to checked just to make sure that he was felled asleep. After a few minutes of checking, she returns back to Allen, who had humbly felled asleep and then she said in a whispered manner " I loved you so much, Allen Walker. "
After she had finished said those words, she left the recovery room and going to an another path. But she didn't realized that Inspector Howard Link was hiding from the wall, was watching the whole scene and he felt strong sadness and grief in his heart, realizing that she truly loves Allen more than him. After that, he left the spot.
Later on, he went back at the office in which Rouvelier was waiting for him. When he sees his facial mood, he was surprised.
" Inspector Link, what's got into you? You had been acting so very strange back then. "
But he had became speechless, still with sadness on his face.
" Hold on.. is all about Madame Artagnan, isn't it? "
He was surprised of what he had said. Rouvelier just nodded his head and said in a serious tone manner " I had already know that you and Madame Artagnan were close friends from the past.. but she have her own decision to choose the right suitor for her. Somehow, you two are far different from each other.. maybe you should let her go that way.. "
" I'm afraid I cannot "
" Why not? " with his eye twitching
" Is because I had truly in love to her since I met her.. but somehow when she had finally laid her eyes on Allen Walker.. I felt so sad and heartbroken.. whenever I had seen her was hanging out with him.. I was so felt desperate.. "
" So.. are you saying that you are secretly jealous to Allen Walker, aren't you? "
He nodded his head a little bit and said in a low tone voice manner " Just a slight.. even though that she was already fell in love to Allen.. I still have feelings for her.. I couldn't let go of it.. "
Rouvelier just sigh and said to him " Look, love is so very complicated that it is.. it was so very hard.. especially when you trying to chased a person who was so very special to you.. but not all the times that you always thinking of love things at all the times.. and besides, the real feelings will be come from both the mind and the heart.. and also, Madame Artagnan made her own choice.. you should try to do the same thing as well.. find the right person who can make you happy.. to the fullest.. "
Link had finally understood of what Rouvelier said to him.
Then, Rouvelier turned his back away and said to him " We will be leaving by tomorrow morning. "
" Sure thing, Sir. "
And he walked out, leaving Link behind.
Later that midnight before he went to bed, Link wrote a letter note for Corinne and after that, he placed it at the top of her desk and then, he slowly left the place.
" It is a farewell for both of us.. after all.. you are so very happy with Allen Walker.. I had hoped that someday that you might able to forgive me.. is because I loved you so much, Corinne. But this time, I will gonna let you go.. "
The next morning, Jerryson and the other exorcists were eating at the cafeteria. A few minutes later, Corinne came in along with Allen, who was temporarily sitting in a wheelchair, is because he needs to recovered from yesterday.
When Jerry sees them, he turned his back and said " Oh, it was you, Daddy Allen! Corinne! "
" So.. how was your feeling, Allen? " Reever asked him
" Feeling better that much but I need to recover myself first. " Allen answered in response
" By the way, I don't seen Inspector Link anywhere. " Corinne said, twitching her head, by looking in every corners
" Huh? Why not? " Jerry asked, with a little bit curiosity
" Actually, when I had woke up early in the morning.. I had seen a letter note at my desk. I don't know exactly what was going on. I guess there is something bothered on him that I don't really know.. " Corinne said
Jerryson had finally realized on his mind that Inspector Link was also in love to Corinne as well but he will never bothered in her love relationship with Allen, his foster adopted father and he had must let her go and she will gonna be truly happy with the person that she truly loves with.
" Uh, Jerry.. is there's something a matter? Are you thinked of anything in your mind right now? " Corinne interrupted in, when she sees him was out of his mood
Jerryson, had became speechless, didn't know of what words should he'll gonna say next.
Now, everything were returned back to normal state as the dark prophecy was finally destroyed off, the exorcists were preparing for their next journey. But however, Inspector Link must decided to let Corinne go and to stayed with the man whom she truly loves with, Allen Walker.
