Hey, I'm here with the 3rd chapter!
Wow, in like three days since I published this, we're already at 134 favs and 155 follows. Color me surprised.
1740, Orichar, Epicn't, dragonfox123, glad you like what I have out so far. Hope you enjoy this chapter as well.
mackerelfunfun, I'll be honest here, I probably have no clue to what canon Castoria is. This is my first time writing Castoria. I haven't gone through Lostbelt 6, so I can't say much about her character there. I'm going only on what I know, which is mostly what I can gleam on her voice lines.
And like what the Guest said, it's fanfiction, it won't follow canon to its fullest.
AccelBreaker, I hope you'll find what I have coming to be interesting hahaha.
BlankSlate00, I believe the idea has been done before, but not in this exact form, I don't think...
Ryu wolf, Bunnytoria and Archer Artoria, hands down. Gilgamesh lost to Saber Artoria, so if we have two of em, Gil won't stand a chance.
Kanon, well, we'll hopefully be seeing a lot of people getting rekt here. So yeah it'll be fun!
Shirou here is definitely more human, that is my take on him. He's less broken compared to the original Shirou, so there's that.
Yes, Lancer Artoria is the in-between. But glad you like the pacing so far.
Pleiniar, yes his food bills. Something I will be looking forward to write.
Luckenhaft, those are pretty interesting ideas for omakes, I'll definitely keep them in mind.
LoverOfArtemis, yeah I am aware, but again, I don't believe something exactly like what I'm doing has been done before. And don't worry, I'll definitely try to finish this. No abandoning this one, no sir!
So yeah, here's the new chapter.
XXX
Shirou, Saber Artoria and Rin stood outside a church. Under the dark night sky and the faint light of the moon, it gave off an ominous feeling.
Caster Artoria's voice sounded in Shirou's ears, "This feels kinda creepy."
The redhead nodded, "Yeah, not a place I think of to house an Overseer."
Rin snorted, "You'll find his character to be very fitting with this Church."
Saber Artoria stood outside the church, unpleasant memories resurfacing, "I shall stay guard outside."
Rider Artoria's voice sounded in their ears, "Assassin and I will do the same."
Lancer Artoria's voice spoke out, "That'll leave myself, Caster, Archer and Berserker then."
Shirou nodded, "What about your Archer, Tohsaka?"
Rin sighed, "Archer, stay on a lookout?"
The red Archer nodded in his spiritual form, "Very well."
The twin tailed girl glanced at Shirou, "Come on, the Overseer awaits."
She pushed the gates open, and the two walked into the yard of the church.
They reached the doors, and the girl pushed open the doors again.
"After so many invitations ignored and refused, imagine my surprise when my rebellious young ward called me about a boy. I suppose you're at that age now, aren't you, Rin?"
Rin's lips thinned, and she stared at the only occupant of the church, "Save me the bullshit."
Shirou looked at where the voice had come from, and he spotted a man, his face concealed by the shows, revealed only by the light of the moon as he stepped forward.
The man smiled darkly when he spotted Shirou, "I am the Overseer of the Fifth Holy Grail War, and my name is Kotomine Kirei, I welcome you, our irregular seventh Master."
The moment he revealed his name, alarm bells were ringing in Shirou's mind. Of course he knew of his father's greatest nemesis before he died.
Kiritsugu had warned him of the fake priest that was Kotomine Kirei.
Shirou thinned his lips, tightening his grip on his bag, "Kotomine... Kirei..."
The priest immediately spotted the glint of recognition and hostility, "You know of me, young man?"
The redhead nodded, "Yeah, my father has told me a lot about you, including your involvement in the previous war."
Kirei raised an amused eyebrow, "Your father? I can't recall having met any redheads in the previous war, with the exception of a Servant. May I ask what your name is?"
Shirou stared at him firmly, ready to grab his gun at any moment, "My name... is Emiya Shirou."
Realization hit the priest, and he did the only thing he could.
He laughed.
Rin frowned, "What's so funny, Kirei?"
The father laughed, and he managed to control his laughter, "I do apologise, I am simply surprised that the Magus Killer had a heir."
Kirei smiled widely, "Yes, I recall now. Kiritsugu and I had a wonderful relationship. Why it can only be fate, for his son to have summoned a Saber as well."
Shirou stared at him warily, "What is a past participant of the war doing as the Overseer?"
The father chuckled, "What indeed? But that isn't what we're here to discuss, is it?"
The two teens simply stared at him, one of caution, the other also with caution, but not as hostile.
Kirei spread his arms out widely, "REJOICE, YOUNG MAN! For you are the first Master to have summoned seven Servants, one from each class!"
Rin scowled, "And how is that fair? The war is pretty much his!"
The father laughed, "Indeed, one would certainly think of it that way. But there is a bit of an issue, to my knowledge, the seven Servants are all of the same Heroic Spirit, are they not?"
Shirou nodded slowly, "You're not wrong."
Kirei nodded, his smile widening, "And if I am not wrong, the summoning took up a huge amount of magical energy, naturally."
The young man nodded again, and the father nodded, "Under normal circumstances, all magical energy used in summoning a Servant would be provided by and only by the Grail. I would assume at least half of that energy used was taken from a third party, most likely yourself, Emiya Shirou."
The redhead didn't give a respond, but Kirei could see the gears turning in the young man's head, and that gave him an answer enough.
Kirei continued, "In accordance to the Grail, an additional Servant of the Saber class can be summoned, whether by an additional Master, or an existing Master. And in addition, with the exception of Emiya Shirou, every Master will receive an extra Command Spell. I have already distributed this knowledge, along with that extra Command Spell, to every other participant."
Rin's eyes widened, "Wait what?! You told everyone else already?!"
Kirei smiled serenely, "Indeed, of course, I had planned to inform you before the other Masters, but you were running rather late. So I took the liberty to inform the others first."
The girl gaped, "W-WHAT?!"
Rin fell silent, her hair shadowing her eyes, and Kirei almost smiled at her reaction. Almost.
The girl glared at Shirou, "Emiya-kun, you owe me big time, got this?"
Shirou blinked, "W-wait, what?"
Rin glared at him, but neither men could feel any hostility behind it, "Because we were waiting for you I was informed last! Do you know how bad that is?! Someone else could've already summoned that extra Saber! I WON'T GET THE CHANCE!"
The redhead sweatdropped, "Sorry? I guess?"
It was at this moment that Kirei chose to withhold the fact that no one had yet to summon the extra Saber, considering preparations needed to be made. But of course, he had no doubt other Masters with that capability would be doing it.
Watching the daughter of his late teacher freak out was nothing if not amusing.
Rin grumbled, "... I'll just have to make do..."
Her eyes widened, "Wait a minute.."
She looked at Shirou, and her mind raced, a devious smile slowly making its way to her face, "Emiya-kun, you and I have a ceasefire, right? How about we make a deal?"
The sweet sickly tone greatly amused Kirei, while Shirou felt like he should run, but the redhead answered nonetheless, "What kind of deal?"
Rin's smile widened, "You can just give me one of your seven Servants, six is more than enough, wouldn't you say?"
The young man sweatdropped, "I mean, does it even work that way?"
Kirei held back an amused smirk, and he chose to dash his ward's hopes with a false truth, "Unfortunately, Rin, Servant contracts don't work that way. You can't just simply give anyone your Servant. Given Emiya Shirou's unique circumstances, I doubt he could even do it if he wanted to."
The twin tailed brunette slumped down, "Ughh... this is the worst..."
Shirou sweatdropped at her reaction, but before they could continue, Kirei spoke up, "Now, I've relayed what I need to, and you have reported to the Overseer. Regardless if the eighth Servant... or should I say, the fourteenth Servant, has been summoned or not, this Fifth Holy Grail has now officially begun."
That caught the two Masters' attention, and Shirou's demeanor changed, "That means everything is fair game now, doesn't it?"
Kirei smirked, "Indeed it does. Of course, any form of battle within this establishment is forbidden. This church is a safe haven, after all."
The redhead nodded, "I see, very well."
The priest chuckled, "I do look forward to what you can bring to the table, as the son of the Magus Killer."
Rin frowned, "Can we leave now?"
Kirei chuckled once more, "If you wish to leave without collecting your extra Command Spell, you are free to do so. Our business here is concluded, or at least, on my end."
The girl froze, before she hastily walked to the priest, thrusting her hand forward, "Make it quick please."
The priest smiled in amusement when he spotted one of the Command Spells gone, and he could pretty much guess that his ward had done something stupid.
Nonetheless, he added one extra Command Spell to her already existing ones, refilling the same spell she'd utilized.
Once they were done, Rin immediately put as much distance as she could between herself and the priest.
Shirou's lips thinned, "I won't expect to see you on the battlefield, will I?"
Rin blinked, "Eh? Why would he be involved?"
The fake priest's smile turned dark, for a brief moment, "That remains to be seen, Emiya Shirou. Let us leave it at that, shall we?"
The redhead nodded, "Fine."
He turned, and the girl blinked, "Wait, we're leaving already?"
Kirei smiled, "Oh, and here I thought you wanted to leave."
Rin blanched, and she quickly followed after Shirou, earning an amused smile from the priest.
As the two reached the doors, Kotomine Kirei spoke up once more, "One last question, Emiya Shirou."
The redhead turned to look at him, "What is it?"
The priest asked, "What will you hope to achieve in this war? I couldn't ask your father this before his untimely demise."
Shirou's lips thinned, "What I want to achieve?"
Kirei nodded, "Is it to prevent the tragedy from ten years ago? Is it to save everyone on the planet? Or do you have a totally different motive?"
The redhead responded, "Who knows? Maybe I'll show you before the war ends."
With that said, the two left the church halls.
As the door closed shut behind the two teens, an arrogant voice reached Kirei's ears, "So, that is the King of Knight's new Master."
The priest looked back to see a blonde man in casual clothing coming out of the shadows, "Does that interest you, o King of Heroes?"
Gilgamesh scoffed, "Well I won't lie and say it doesn't."
The King of Uruk scowled, "But it disgusts me to see seven of them serving the Faker."
Kirei smiled in amusement, "Is that jealousy, my King? It is unbecoming of you."
Gilgamesh scowled, "I can feel no amount of jealousy, fool."
The priest's smile widened, "Mind enlightening me, my King?"
The blonde scoffed, "Everything that exists belongs to me. Regardless of who lays their hands on them, it is mine nonetheless, as infuriating as it is. But in an act of pity, I shall allow that Faker to enjoy the presence of his Servants, for now."
Kirei chuckled, "One can argue that people do not belong to anyone but themselves."
Gilgamesh's lips thinned, "I keep you alive because you provide me entertainment, mongrel. Do remember your boundaries."
The priest lowered his head, but he knew the King of Heroes wouldn't kill him just yet, "My humble apologies, my King."
The blonde king snorted, "Whatever, I tire of this shack."
In the blink of an eye, the King of Heroes vanished, leaving the fake priest alone in the church halls.
After a moment, Kirei smiled, "I do look forward to what you can bring, Emiya Shirou. The heir of the Magus Killer and Master of seven Servants."
(Linebreak)
With Shirou and Rin, the two left the Church, and Rin glanced at Shirou, "Emiya-kun, I've never seen you like that."
Shirou blinked, "Huh? What do you mean?"
The twin tailed brunette looked at him, "It's the first time I've ever see you so hostile. Well, granted it was him, but still..."
The redhead sighed, "Sorry, it's just the things I've heard from my father, Kotomine Kirei is someone you should never trust."
Rin raised an eyebrow, "Really? After my father died, he's the one who taught me everything I know. He's an asshole, but he's not really that bad."
Shirou fell silent, before he nodded, "I see, then I'll just have to take your word for it."
Saber Artoria, who had overheard their conversation, thinned her lips, unsure if she should voice her opinions on the priest.
She was brought out of her musings when Shirou called to her, "Saber, we're done. Let's go back."
The blonde knight nodded, "Understood."
As they walked, Rin stopped walking as she spoke up, "I guess this is where we part ways."
The two turned to look at the girl, and Shirou raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
The brunette steeled her features, "Our ceasefire was so you could sort things out, right? Now that that's done, regardless if you do have seven Servants, we're officially enemies, right?"
The redhead sighed, "Are you really sure you want to go there?"
Rin furrowed her brows, "What do you mean?"
Shirou's eyes turned cold, "I am the heir to the Magus Killer, Tohsaka."
Saber Artoria's lips thinned, and she spoke out warningly, "Master."
A gust of wind blew, and Archer was suddenly behind Shirou, blades poised to strike, but at the same time, the Servant in red found himself unable to act any further.
The reason? A pair of very familiar blades, one of holy light, the other of cursed darkness, were crossed at his neck.
But that wasn't just it, for an antimaterial sniper rifle was aimed at his back, and Rider Artoria spoke out coldly, "Don't move, Archer."
Archer Artoria, too materialized, the swimsuit Servant standing between Shirou and Rin.
Rin's jaw tightened at the fact that her Servant had been neutralized almost immediately, and Shirou spoke up, the cold look vanishing from his eyes, "I told you before, I don't want it to be personal, Tohsaka. You're someone I know from school, and I hope we can still stay friends."
The brunette sighed, "You say that now..."
The redhead sighed, "A lot has happened tonight, Tohsaka, I'd rather we don't have anymore happening. Besides, we still have to deal with the Bounded Field at school."
Rin blinked, "Wait, didn't you set that up?"
Shirou frowned, "Of course not, I only became a Master this evening, the Bounded Field was there since this morning. And it's rather... unpleasant."
The twin tailed girl furrowed her brows, "If you didn't set it, then who did?"
She looked at him, "And what do you mean by unpleasant?"
The redhead sighed, "I don't know the specifics, but it's not something good. It's definitely more than just some random defensive field."
Rin folded her arms, "I... see, that changes things... a lot."
Shirou nodded, "One of our conditions for the ceasefire was to not harm anyone from school, right? How about we work together to resolve that first? War or not, I don't want to involve innocents."
The girl sighed, "Fine, I'm not in any position to refuse anyway."
The redhead nodded, "Thanks."
Rin sighed in defeat, "You're the worst, you know? I guess being the son of the Magus Killer really is different."
Shirou chuckled, "Believe me, if I did things the same way my father did, you'd be five feet under."
The girl shook her head, "I don't even wanna know now..."
The redhead smiled, and he glanced at his Servants, "That's enough."
Mysterious Heroine X looked at her Master, "But Shirou..."
Shirou nodded, "It's fine."
Rider Artoria sighed, "If you say so."
Archer thinned his lips, "How nice of you to threaten my Master into agreeing, Emiya Shirou..."
Assassin scowled, removing her swords from his neck despite her displeasure, "Watch your words, Archer."
The Servant in red scoffed, "Duly noted."
Rin sighed, "Anyway, should we meet up tomorrow to suss out the Bounded Field tomorrow?"
Shirou nodded, "Of course."
The girl nodded, "Great then... I'll see you tomorrow."
"Are you done talking now?"
Before they could part ways, the voice of a young girl reached their ears, and everyone snapped back to where the voice had come from.
Rin's eyes widened when they spotted who had spoken. A young girl that looked like she couldn't have been any older than 12, with pale skin and long white hair.
But what caught their attention was the giant figure that stood beside her.
A giant was the only thing that could describe him. He had dark almost charred skin. His muscles were firm and hard, almost like rocks.
He also had wild unkempt hair, and he had a pair of mismatched eyes, one red with madness, the other yellow with power.
Rin gulped, "Berserker..."
The girl smiled, "Good evening, Onii-chan, this will be the second time we meet, right?"
Shirou stared at her warily, uneased by the fact that she shared the exact same face as his late sister.
The young girl looked at the Servants present around the two, "To think you summoned so many of them, I'm really impressed."
She took a few steps forward into the light of the lamp posts, and she did a small curtsy, "Nice to meet you, Tohsaka Rin. I am Illyasviel von Einzbern, I'm sure you should recognize my name."
Saber Artoria, as well as most of the other Artorias, thinned their lips, recognizing the girl easily.
Rin clenched her fists, "Einz-"
"Don't bullshit me!"
She was cut off by Shirou, and she was taken aback when she anger burning in his eyes for the very first time in her life.
Even the Servants were taken aback by his reaction, and Saber Artoria asked, "Master?"
Shirou ignored her, glaring at Illyasviel, "How dare you use my older sister's name?!"
That surprised everyone, and Illyasviel narrowed her eyes, "Your sister's name? Y-"
The redhead whipped out his gun, pointing it at the girl, his grip so tight that the gun was shaking in his hands, "First you take on her appearance, now you use her name. Do the Einzbern enjoy disrespecting the dead so much?!"
Rin asked, "Emiya-kun, what do you mean? You have a sister?"
Shirou's glare didn't leave Illyasviel, "I had one. Kiritsugu had a daughter, and her name was Illyasviel von Einzbern. But the Einzbern kept her away from us, and a year before Kiritsugu died, they killed her."
Saber Artoria decided to speak up, "Master, calm down. That is your sister, I can recognize Lady Irisviel's daughter anywhere."
The redhead scowled, "There's no way that is her! Kiritsugu said the Einzbern killed her, and my sister should be 18 by now! You're nothing but a fake!"
Archer almost broke out in laughter at the irony.
Illyasviel, on the other hand, was confused, but not amused at all, and her lips thinned, "Enough... Berserker, kill them."
The hero cursed with madness, responded, dashing towards them, and Shirou growled, "Berserker!"
In the blink of an eye, Mysterious Heroine X Alter appeared in the opposing Berserker's path.
The cursed hero swung his axe sword, and X Alter raised her hands, catching the swing as it came down.
The exchange unleashed a giant shockwave, pushing Shirou, Illyasviel and Rin back a few feet.
The larger Berserker growled, pulling his sword axe back before swinging it at the smaller Berserker.
X Alter simply grunted in response, before blocking the strike with her arms. With a burst of Prana, the blonde Berserker pushed the axe away, much to the ancient hero's surprise.
Not missing a beat, X Alter reached forward, and from her fingertips, arcs of lightning shot out, striking the ancient hero.
The son of Zeus crossed his arms, using his sword axe to block the bolts of lightning as they pushed him back for quite some distance.
Mysterious Heroine X Alter thinned her lips, "... So that didn't work..."
The shorter Berserker sighed, "This is taking too long..."
She glanced back at Shirou, "Master, I request for a dozen red bean buns, black bean buns and chestnut buns each when we go home."
The redhead blinked, a reaction mirrored by Rin, "E-eh?"
Caster Artoria's voice sounded at his ears, "Just say yes, Master."
Lancer Artoria nodded, "Agreed."
Shirou frowned, "... Fine... Got it, Berserker!"
A ghost of a smile appeared on X Alter's face, and what looked like a hilt appeared in her hands. Shirou instinctively activated his Structural Analysis again.
This time, the headache wasn't as bad, and he only managed to gleam into bits of the item. The name was still shrouded for him, but with his knowledge of the Servant's identity, he could make out the last part of the name.
... calibur...
His eyes widened, "Wait, is that-!"
He was cut off, as from the hilt, a beam of pure magical energy ignited to life.
Yes, it was a light saber.
X Alter dashed forward, the amount of Prana flowing to her sword increasing by the second, and she swung.
Berserker roared and swung his own axe sword in response, but X Alter saw it coming. With an additional burst of prana, she ducked, before stabbing her sword straight into Berserker's chest, the beam saber piercing through the ancient hero's skin.
Not stopping there, she kicked the Berserker away, swapping her single bladed light saber for a twin-edged one.
"Altereactor... Critical levels!"
A dark purplish aura raged around the petite Berserker, and Shirou felt his reserves drop.
A technique accessible only by the Alter version of King Arthur of the Servant Universe.
The twin edged beam saber glowed with power.
Its dark light would reduce everything to particles.
Mysterious Heroine X Alter dashed forward, swinging her twin edged sword at the Berserker. The ancient hero recognised the threat, and he retaliated.
His arms blurred, the axe sword moving to smash the blonde to bits, but her attack was already in motion.
Parrying the axe sword, X Alter clenched her free hand, as if choking something. In response, the Berserker's sword arm stiffened, bending back as if something was grabbing ahold of it.
The blonde Berserker moved, and she swung her light saber in an uppercut. The larger Berserker growled and tried to block it with his other arm.
While it did prevent fatal damage, the force behind the swing had sent the behemoth flying.
Leaping after him, X Alter focused all of her Prana into her sword, and she unleashed everything in one strong swing.
That was her Noble Phantasm.
A technique only available to her, for it required not a sword, but the internalisation of her entire existence. Her energy itself would form the sword.
That was the Black Dragon's Twin Blade of Victory.
Mysterious Heroine X Alter spoke out, invoking the name of her Noble Phantasm, "Cross... CALIBUR!"
The blonde Berserker swung, and her attack met her intended target, landing a single slash on the Berserker.
As X Alter landed on the ground, the energy from her strike overloaded Berserker's body, causing a large explosion as the ancient hero's body fell to the ground.
The blonde Berserker nodded in satisfaction, walking back to Shirou, "Did I do good?"
Shirou blinked as he stared at Illya's Berserker, "Y-yeah. You did good."
X Alter smiled, "Can I get a headpat?"
The redhead blinked, "Uhh, sure?"
He slowly patted on the shorter blonde's head, earning a silent hum of happiness.
Rin stared at the blonde Berserker in shock, "What kind of monster did you summon, Emiya-kun?"
Her own Servant stared at the scene warily, and he spoke up, "It's not over yet."
Rin blinked, "What?"
Illyasviel thinned her lips as her Berserker got up, his wounds healing instantly. While her Servant was fine, she wasn't happy at all.
Somehow Shirou too had a Berserker, and her Noble Phantasm had taken down not one, but three of her Berserker's hearts. It would've taken more, had the Servant not defend himself at the last minute possible.
The white haired girl scowled, "Berserker, let's go home. We're done here."
That caught the opposing two Masters' attention, and Shirou aimed his gun again, "You're not going anywhere!"
But before he could pull the trigger, the giant Berserker blurred, grabbing his Master and dashing away. Shirou gritted his teeth, and he turned to his Servants, "Rider, after them!"
Before the maid could respond, Lancer Artoria materialised in front of Shirou, "Calm down, Shirou."
The redhead glared at the older blonde, "What do you mean calm down?! They're getting away!"
The older King let out a breath, staring sternly at him, "You are not in the right state of mind to fight, and as Saber has said, that is your sister."
Shirou scowled, "She's not my sister, my sister is dead!"
Lancer shook her head, "Saber has lived through the Fourth Holy Grail War, just as I have. We've seen your sister before, and she is Lady Irisviel's daughter. Calm down."
The redhead clenched his fists, and he raised his left arm, only for the older blonde to speak, "If you wish to use a Command Spell, then we cannot stop you. But ask yourself, once you reach her, what will you do? Will you kill her even when there's a chance she's truly your sister?"
That stopped Shirou in his tracks, and he took a deep breath, lowering his hand, "... Sorry... I... got carried away."
Lancer Artoria smiled softly, "I won't say I understand how you feel, but perhaps consider if Kiritsugu was given false information."
The young man simply nodded, "Yeah, I'll do that."
Archer Artoria stepped towards him, a small smile on her face, "Then let us go home. You still owe Ecchan 36 servings of dessert."
Shirou sighed, but a small smile appeared on his face, "Got it."
Rin sighed, "What the hell... I'm heading home, I can't take this anymore."
She looked at Shirou, "I'll see you tomorrow then, Emiya-kun."
Shirou nodded, "Yeah."
The two walked their separate ways, and as they did, Archer stared at Shirou in his astral form, 'Emiya Shirou...'
The young man was obviously different from his past self, way too different, and it meant he needed to reconsider his plans.
"Surprised?"
Caster Artoria materialised beside him, and the red Archer decided to do the same, "Yeah, how did you know I was still here?"
The twin tailed blonde smiled, "Trade secret."
The male Servant sighed, "You... You're Artoria, right?"
Caster Artoria nodded, "You of all people should know, Shirou."
Archer's eyes widened, "How did you-"
The blonde smiled, "Trade secret."
She looked at him, "So, what will you do now?"
The white haired Servant snorted, "No idea."
Caster Artoria walked towards her Master, "Talk to him, you'll find him to be quite different."
The twin tailed blonde vanished into her spiritual form, leaving the man. Letting out a breath, Archer vanished as well, returning to look after his Master.
The man had a lot to think about.
With Shirou and his seven Servants, the young man had retired to his room after promising X Alter he'd make her the buns tomorrow, leaving the seven Servants in the living room.
Saber looked at her Lancer counterpart, "Did you know he would react that way?"
The busty blonde shook her head, "No, not exactly. But Shirou is stubborn, and if he was told that Illyasviel had been killed by the Einzbern, then his anger is nothing if not justified."
The other counterparts nodded, and Saber looked at Berserker, "Speaking of which, Berserker, your Noble Phantasm..."
X Alter yawned, "... The results of my training, that's all..."
Mysterious Heroine X spoke up, "Ecchan doesn't have a holy sword like most of us, not in the same way. Her energy makes up the sword, that's why her Noble Phantasm is a conceptual one, rather than a physical one like the Excalibur."
Caster Artoria nodded, "I suppose I'm in the same boat."
Saber blinked, "How so?"
The twin tailed blonde smiled, "I do have various Noble Phantasms, of course, but the one that defines me the most is a conceptual one."
Saber Artoria nodded, "I see..."
Caster Artoria smiled slightly, "Another story for another time."
The twin tailed Caster looked at her counterparts, "For now, we should make sure we cover our bases. I'll reinforce the Bounded Field, Emiya Kiritsugu had chosen a good place to build a base."
She looked at the ground, "There's a decent leyline here, not as a good as the one on top of the hill, but that one is taken already anyway."
The other counterparts nodded, and Saber blinked, "Wait, taken? By whom?"
Rider was the one who answered, "The witch of Colchis."
Saber's eyes widened, "What?! How did you-"
Lancer cut her off with a smile, "We have slightly different pasts, Saber. This is one of them."
The younger counterpart thinned her lips, "I see. Then we should strike."
Assassin huffed, "Too immature, that's why we should cut down all Sabers!"
Berserker yawned, "X-san, you're at it again..."
Archer chuckled at their antics, before looking at her 'original' self, "It is still not the time, our Master is not ready, and he has other priorities. Besides, until the enemy Caster acts, we can bide our time."
Saber sighed, "Fine..."
Assassin scoffed, "Don't worry too much, I can scout out the area with my Saber Ninja Arts, and I'm protected by the rules of the Cosmos Dimension anyway."
Saber Artoria blinked, "Apologies, but what does that mean?"
Lancer Artoria sighed, "Don't worry about it, she can conceal herself and can't die too easily."
The younger blonde blinked again, "I... see..."
Archer Artoria smiled, "Well, if we're done here, I'm gonna go check on Shirou."
Assassin stood up, "Me too!"
With that said, the two blondes headed for the redhead's room, much to Saber's confusion and Rider Artoria's exasperation.
Caster Artoria smiled, "You'll understand soon... Probably..."
(Linebreak)
With Illya, the girl was back in her castle, and she was throwing what could only be called a tantrum.
Her two maids watched as their master threw a glass at the wall.
Sella asked, "What is bothering you?"
The girl growled, "I don't know what to think anymore!"
The maid asked, "Is it regarding your brother?"
Illya nodded, throwing spoon, "Of course its about him! Grandfather said Kiritsugu abandoned me! That he found a new son!"
Sella asked again, "And is that not true?"
The girl growled, "I don't know!"
She slumped onto a chair, "Onii-chan said he thought I died... And he seemed really angry..."
Berserker slowly approached his Master, gently patting her on the head, or as gently as he could.
Illya found the act endearing, "Thank you, Berserker..."
She looked down as the ancient hero removed his hand, "I don't know what to do... I was going to kill him after seeing him... But now..."
Sella closed her eyes, "Regardless, he is a Master, and thus your enemy. You shouldn't let this hinder you."
Illya looked up at the ceiling, "I know, but that doesn't mean I can't keep him alive."
Sella furrowed her brows, she could guess what was going through her master's mind.
If Emiya Shirou, and by extension Emiya Kiritsugu, had mistakenly thought Illya had died, then it would make sense for them to not have tried to meet her before.
That meant that the hatred and anger that had been fostering in the young girl's heart would be null.
It would simply be a misunderstanding, and hopefully Illya would regain a form of family.
Sella shared a look with Leysritt, and the two nodded. The older maid spoke up, "Regardless of what you choose, know that we will support you, my lady."
Illya simply nodded as she leaned on her chair, she had a lot to think about.
But she was simply too emotionally tired, and she quickly drifted to sleep.
And for the first time in years, she dreamt of her parents, she dreamt of the days she'd play with Kiritsugu in the snow.

Done! So that's the 3rd chapter! We got to see Berserkers fight it out!
We'll be having an additional Saber class Servant, no it won't be Shirou's. But it might be revealed soon, in the next few chapters.
It's already been decided, so do guess who it is.
So yeah, I'll try to work on the next chapter soon.
Read and review please, until next time!
