Chapter 3: POV: Eight:

I mean, this was insane! Aliens! Real aliens. Not Mogadorians. Not humans. Other species! I mean, how cool was that! But I knew, better than anybody, that all good things came with a price. I notice the things that not many people notice. After I stumbled across a series of cave paintings in the Himalayas.

What specifically I'd noticed, were the burn marks on the ship. The last thing we needed was to be dragged into another intergalactic war. And we didn't know whether this dude was one of the "good guys" or "bad guys". But, somehow, I don't know how, don't ask me to explain, but I could kind of tell you it might have been something spiritual. That I could somehow sense that he meant no harm. That and the fact that he was in a pretty bad position and couldn't harm us anyway...I hoped.

Do not be afraid, I will not hurt you

Oh great. Next, he's gonna say: "Take me to your leader". Sorry, I watched too many Hollywood movies after I came to America with the rest of the Loric. But I didn't make a joke. Because like the rest of the Loric, I felt this weird sense of nostalgia. Like this alien was an old friend I hadn't seen in a long time.

Anyways..about the alien. The dude looked really, really weird. I mean the Mogadorians looked downright normal compared to this dude. If he even was a dude.

He looked like a centaur, except he had blue fur all over his body, and his "horse half" was smaller in proportion than a centaur's would be, more like a deer. His two arms looked pretty skinny and weak, at least compared to a human, and instead of five fingers on each hand, there were seven. His head was really bizarre. There was no mouth, for one! I guess that's why he needed telepathy. But then how did he eat? I probably didn't want to know. His nose was just three vertical slits. And his eyes were huge! Two almond shaped eyes, massive like the ones that the "green men" have, except they were bright green. And his ears also looked kind of like an elf's ears. And in addition to that, he had two stalk eyes like a snail, which allowed the alien to see in all directions. But what I almost missed entirely was the tail. The powerful looking tail, curved up and over his body, seemed like it was at least ten feet long, very, very muscular, and on the end of the tail, there was a massive scythe shaped blade at least a foot long. Definitely didn't want to get on this alien's bad side.

But as the alien clip-clopped down the entryway of his ship, as he put one hoof on the mud, he stumbled and fell. Didn't get up. I mean I know the mud was slippery, but it looked like he was in some serious pain. I saw his whole flank was burned badly and dripping greenish blue "blood".

We rushed to his side, and I automatically looked towards Marina. My friend. Who had the same concerned expression on her face now, as when I was about to die back in India.

"You're hurt!"

Do not worry for me. You cannot help. The injuries are fatal, I will die. As I must. The Yeerks will destroy or infest me if I'm not dead from my injuries. I pray that I die before they infest me..the Yeerk Empire does not need another Andalite Controller…

"No! You don't understand. We aren't normal humans. We can heal you! I can heal you right now!", Marina said, more forcefully now.

Before Marina walked towards the alien, Six and Nine stared at her, almost like an unspoken conversation went between them:

"You are telling this alien our secret?"

"He needs help, can't you see that! He's dying. I felt him dying!"

"This might be risky! No doubt this alien needs our help, but what if he's from another race like the Mogs!"

Marina hesitated

"That's a chance we can take…"

And walked towards the alien.

I admired Marina's bravery and compassion, but I wondered if this time, it might put her in danger. I prepared to shapeshift into an avatar in case some serious firepower was needed...
