43. Chapter 43

The quiet gives her time to think about not just the great space she and Fitz are in right now. But, also the impending doom that is lurking. They've been waiting for weeks for the surveillance details to come back on Cyrus, and that time is just around the corner.

Cyrus has been acting rather odd as of late, showing up unprepared for meetings, and even late to work a few days this past week. Something surely wasn't right, and it was a consensus of the White House staff that something very wrong had to be the cause for Cyrus being off kilter.

Olivia could feel the pit in her stomach getting larger, as her anxiety about the situation weighed on her. The more she thought about how serious the situation must be to throw Cyrus off of his game. The more she knew that it wasn't going to end well, and that made her sad.

Snapping from her thoughts Olivia finds herself just outside the gates of the White House. She pulls up and shows her pass with the guard allowing her to enter. As she drives up to the parking area; she notices the intensity of her anxiety is rising.

After pulling into her parking space, she turns off the car and takes a breath, trying to calm herself before getting out of the car. She doesn't want to freak Fitz out; they have a wonderful weekend planned with the kids, some fun family time. But, she can't shake the feeling of something terrible being on the cusp.

She'd agreed till this point to allow Huck to work for Fitz, without her being in the loop. She said she was going to stay away, but right now, her gut is pushing her to want to be in the know.

So, she picks up her phone, and as she prepares to call Huck. Her phone rings, scaring the bejesus out of her. It's him, it's Huck. Could he be calling to confirm what her gut instinct has been trying to tell her? Maybe, maybe not.

Thank you for reading this fan fiction tale. Yeah, I am leaving you in suspense. Don't hate me. I felt like I needed to give some background to how Olivia is changing day by day.

But, I promise the details of what Huck has discovered about Cy will be revealed in the next installment, and I assure you. It will be a game changer. Stay tuned for that developing plot line. Additionally, we will and find out how Olivia's girls night discussions manifest themselves in her future conversations with Fitz, and her therapist.
