believe it was a murder suicide. He thinks Rowan made it look that way. And, uses Jordan to kill Warren, to thwart Rowan's plan of using Warren to ruin the Grant Administration."
Olivia shakes her head as she replies, "So even though both of them wanted to ruin Fitz's legacy. Their hate for each other was greater." Huck nods as he says, "In a nut shell yeah. If Jake had just let Rowan's plan run its course. Both of their goals would've been met."
Olivia says, "That's insane. I still don't understand what my father's plot was to take down Fitz. And how Warren was tied to it." Quinn replies, "Oh. That's simple. Warren managed to steal some documents from Cyrus' storage space that had information about Defiance, Operation Remington, Verna's murder, and it included information about James' murder too. That's why Jake didn't trust Rowan's plan. He thought because the information Warren had implicated him as well as Fitz; Rowan was throwing him under the bus along with Fitz."
Olivia worriedly responds, "So wait, this information is just out there for anyone to find?" Huck quickly replies, "No. Of course not. I took care of it. See when Jordan killed Warren, he didn't know that Warren didn't keep the files in his house. He kept them in his office. So, he left empty handed, and I'm pretty sure Jake and your father are either sweating bullets or hotter than fish grease right now. Because both of them are unaware of where the files are located and both of their plans are thwarted."
Olivia sits for a moment in awe and then says, "Okay. So, we are in the clear, and have so far avoided a major crisis by you getting those files Huck. What else did Cyrus leave behind to bite us in the ass?"
He responds, "Thankfully nothing. I wiped all of his electronics, including his smart phones. So we're covered in that respect. But, what do you want to do about Warren? Rosen should be snooping around here soon. Did you want to feed him Jordan as a suspect?"
Olivia thinks for a moment and says, "I like that idea, but we have to let David think he figured it out. Otherwise he won't go for it." Quinn replies, "I say we don't feed him anyone. It doesn't affect us one way or the other if someone is prosecuted for the crime. It's not like Jordan is going to give himself up. They'll never find out who he is anyway."
Olivia agrees as she replies, "That's true. You may have a point Quinn. Huck, do you think Jordan is a threat on his own?" He responds, "Not after I pay him a visit." Olivia looks at him as she replies, "Fair enough. Do what's needed, and nothing more." He nods as he says, "Of course."
Quinn replies, "I guess we won't have anyone to serve up to David as a suspect then huh?" Olivia responds, "Well, like you said, we don't have a dog in this fight anyway, so it doesn't matter. Besides, I think we have bigger concerns."
Huck asks, "What's that?" Olivia sighs as she responds, "The fact that my mother is roaming around free, in and out of federal prisons without being captured or noticed for one thing. And secondly, Jake and my father's beef getting other people killed can't be taken lightly."
Huck and Quinn agree with her, both are major concerns, but the latter is the most concerning of all. Huck says what they are all thinking; "As long as they're alive Liv. They'll always be a potential problem." She nods as she says, "I know. I have to talk to Fitz about it. I can't make that decision right now."
Quinn replies, "Understood. Whatever you decide we will back you Liv." She smiles at her as she responds, "Thanks Quinn. Thank you both. You did a great job as always." Huck says, "You're welcome. We'll leave you to your thoughts, and let us know what you decide." She nods in agreement and they both leave her alone in her office.
Sitting with this truth is weighing on her. Why is it she always comes back to this point when it comes to her father? Here she is again, considering her father's fate. And, dealing with the fact that her mother isn't any better than her father. She says out lout, "What in the hell did I do to deserve these two as my parents?"
After about an hour of pondering how to proceed, she can't seem to come up with a resolution. If she hasn't come up with anything right now. She knows she won't be able to figure out what to do in this very instant. So, she decides to give herself a break. A break from work all together and focus on herself and her thoughts.
She picks up her phone and makes a phone call to her therapist. When the secretary answers, she says, "Hi Judith. This is Olivia. I know I canceled my appointment today. But, I was wondering if Dr. Baker still had my slot open?"
Judith replies, "Hi Olivia. Yes. Dr. Baker does have your slot open. If you like we can pencil you in." Olivia smiles as she responds, "Awesome, I will be there in twenty." Judith responds, "Good. I will let the doctor know. See you then." Olivia replies, "Okay. Bye."
When she hangs up the phone, she knows this is the right decision. Before she does anything else, makes one more life altering choice. She has to clear her head mentally. So, she grabs her things and lets her team know she's leaving for the day. She knows that the next set of choices she makes cannot be undone.
