chapter 27- Snow White is Cinderella
Now every good story needs a princess, a star of the limelight.
A Knight in Shining Armor, to rescue his Princess.
or a Prince Charming, to save the Princess from Disaster.
Unfortunately we do not have a Princess.
We Only have faded Star for this story.
Who is still a Princess in own right but unnoticed to all Toons.
She is a faded Star of Toon Town.
She's is no longer in stands Limelight.
For her acting career has ended.
But her sparkle has not Dime'd down.
Even though, No Fans come for her autograph anymore.
For, More of her fans dwindle by the day.
Cause, Hardly anyone watches her films anymore.
But because of her past, she's still allowed to still live in Toon Town.
And some still see her, and say is that her the actor?
And they say yah but she's olde school.
But that does not bother her.
This Lady still has a heart of gold, an her heart is in the right place.
She worries less for her unpopularity.
And she care's more deeply for the unwanted Toons of Toon Town.
Her heart goes out to them in sorrow and Love for them!
To the point of letting some 'the unloved Toons', room with her in own tiny apartment.
A small apartment that she barely makes enough money to keep.
She does this cause she has seen so many old toons go missing over the years.
She just doesn't want to lose any more friends.
And part of her blames herself for the lost of her friends.
No one seems to remember these lost Toons or care to look for them anymore.
She has tried everything to find her lost Toon Friends.
The police do nothing to help, Lost posters don't help!
People say there gone forever maybe melted by Thinner. . . .
No!
She believes in heart that, they are Alive!
They'll Come Back Someday!
Cause, her memory of the past is crystal clear, they are not forgotten to her.
So every day she works as a waitress at the 'The Ink and Paint Club'.
Customer's get mad at her for not being pretty enough.
They throw food at her and laugh at her.
But she still smiles.
She Puts on a act that everything is ok.
This girl once the talk of town Now, slaves away always threaten to lose her job.
As she server the people there food, or cleans Dishes, cooks, and clean the bathroom.
Some costumers' don't even give her tips for all her hard work.
She waits for her pay check at the end of the week.
Who is this girl you ask?
Why none other then Betty Boop!
"Bo. Bo. Be. Boop."
Betty sings to herself as she runs in rain, trying not jumping into the puddle's in Toon Town Sidewalk.
Poor Betty walks home to save money.
Betty would take the bus, but she has Poor to pay for Bus fair.
Betty has many poor Toons to feed mouths at home.
Betty has had a long day at the club, her feet hurt.
Sadly the club Betty works at, is only open on weekends and nighttime.
Once Betty lived on the good side if Toon Town.
But can no longer afford that.
Now Betty lives in apartment in the slum's or called the bad part of Town.
Betty has two other job's, one where she is Nurse to Toon Animals and Cook at a Restaurant.
Not to worry Betty not the only who has a job of her house.
Some of the Toons who room with Betty some of them have jobs as well.
They all pitch in to pay the rent.
Betty's roommates include.
Well we will see who they are soon.
Betty steps up the stairs to the top floor of the apartment.
Betty Boop Prov.
"Im home Guy's!"
"Hi Betty. where just almost ready for supper! But we got to be quite Popeye is still watching his TV program."
said Olive Ole with a sad voice.
"Is Popeye been doing better today Olive?" Betty inquired with sad tone.
"No Popeye lost another job again. But he's been a little better since he's been watching his favorite program on the Television in the living room." Olive explained.
Betty shock her head in worry. "He lost it cause he didn't show up for work."
"I'll talk to him after dinner."
"No I'll talk to him."
"Why don't we both talk to him together?"
"Your right Olive. Together."
Olive Oil Prov. or her Thoughts of the past Flashback:.
Olive knew normally in the past she wouldn't have gotten along with Betty but times where hard. And in the past Both Olive and Popeye owe Betty Boop there chance at fame. For years Olive was only in comics in newspaper not animation.
It was the crossover film in Betty Boop that started both Olive, Popeye, and Bluto career in animation.
But Olive couldn't understand why Betty Never held it over there head's.
Betty never reminded them?
It was hard for Olive to believe Betty was that nice.
Betty was a pretty but not vain.
Unlike Olive Oil.
With how many times Olive's been mean to Betty.
Betty Boop would alway treat her with kindness?
Olive Oil just wants to be beautiful and be recognized for the Toon she is!
not for the man she with!
But Since Now many old Toon's where left homeless on the street's.
or worse living in toon homeless shelter or even worse melted by Thinner.
Betty took in so many Toons out of the kindness of her heart.
The best Olive could do was get along with Betty.
The worse was the alternative.
See, Poor Popeye had gotten into a bit of a depression.
Popeye had worse anger fit's and wouldn't talk to Olive for days.
Poor Popeye would just sit in his wooden rocking chair.
He would hardly move or eat.
Popeye was sad cause he lost so many Toon friends over the years.
But losing Bluto, that sent Popeye off the Deep end!
They considered bringing Popeye to the Doctor.
but if they did they knew what might happen.
The Doctors would say Popeye is a danger to himself an other's!
The Doctor's will use that as a excuse to lock Popeye up!
Like they did with Wimpy, Popeye's Friend!
Wimpy still haven't left the Hospital!
It had been years!
As long as they payed the Hospital bill Wimpy would not be melted buy Thinner!
Popeye didn't want to roommate with Betty at first and over use her kind Hospitality!
but Olive Oil'e told Popeye they where in way on the run from the Doctor's and the police.
And Betty Boop would be late place they'd look!
Popeye thought Betty's place looked like a zoo there where way to many animals everywhere!
Popeye also didn't like someone else who was there!
But Olive Oil had a plan she was in contact with a old girl Friend!
Threw mail.
This old Toon girl had the same problem as Olive Oil.
Both girls lived in the shadow of there Men in there life.
Both Toon Girls where about the same age.
But unlike Olive Oil, this girl had lost her ex boyfriend to death.
For a long time This Toon girl hated her ex boyfriend, she would write to Betty her hatred of him.
But the last letter was sad.
Olive Oil's friend was angry she said she thought someone must of killed her ex boyfriend!
he was dead and she wanted Justice!
They couldn't go to police, since he was such a old Toon.
Olive Oil was ready to help her friend get revenge for his death!
Just till they found out who was responsible for his death!
So Olive Oil was doing Detective work on the side to look for the culprit of the murder.
Olive Oil considered her friend might of Murdered her ex.
But Olive Oil wanted to believe her friend wasn't lying to her!
And Olive Oil's prime suspect the one and only Mickey Mouse!
Olive Oil was convinced Mickey Mouse killed HIM!
But How to prove to gather evidence?!

Present Time:
When we last left Betty and Olive they where having a touching girlfriend moment!
Then someone flew threw the wall!
Olive gave a jump but she knows she should be used to this by now!
Since they all lived with a ghost!
So it was a nice ghost living in there house ok!
Popeye still didn't like the ghost kid said it creeped him out to know end!
But the ghost kid never did any harm!
Olive always had to keep reminded herself!
The ghost's name was Casper the Friendly Ghost!
"Hi Betty! you made it home safe?"
"Hi yah Casper! Traffic was drat but I made it! how are yah!"
"Ok Betty. I made all my rounds today! I made sure all out roommate friends where conformable."
"That's a good boy!"
Just then a swarm of Animals came stampeding to the front door to Betty!
Tackling Betty down to the ground to give her kissing licks with there tongue's and hugs!
Olive moved to the side since she was used to this by now.
Now these pet Toons could not talk they where more animal then Toon!
but the still lived under there roof or Betty's Apartment.
They Toon animals would Rome the day outside in toon Town running a away from the pound catcher till in the evening they would come to Betty Boop's House!
"One at a time!" Betty giggle's.
Both Olive and Casper are happy to see Betty happy.
They both make a silent smile an looked at each other with nod.
Both would give there lives for Betty Boop if it meant to protect her!
Flashback to how Betty helped Casper:
Betty couldn't help herself every time she found a abandoned toon Animal she just had to nurse them back to health. She didn't keep them all them forever just till they got better. After they got better. some she brought them to there lost homes, Some she found them new home's, and other's staid with her for year's.
It was the same with other Roommates over the years. Betty would like to think she help many Toons over the years. But why does she feel like a failure. she tried so hard to help everyone but she still lost some very important Toons in her life.
All in different terrible way's. When Betty and Olive still where trying to get along. Olive could not understand why Betty needed so many animal's. That's when Betty broke down sobbing she told Olive the truth about Bimbo, Puggy, and Koko.
How she considered them like her family but lost them.
Betty feels she needs to help other animals to cope with her loss.
Even before losing them she would do this often help animals but not to this extreme!
That's why Casper has been so much help in taking care of the animals, while Betty has been at work.
After Casper lost his haunted house Casper had nowhere to live.
Even Casper's friends went missing like Wendy, Casper's uncles, Cousin Spookie, and Hot Stuff.
Casper needs his Friends it's part of his obsession as a ghost!
Casper was fading away without a purpose in life!
Fading cause his friends where his family that he lost!
Till Betty Boop came!
to Casper's hunted house used to be!
Betty was worried about Casper!
when Betty read in paper that more Toon house's where being melted down!
Betty found Casper right in the construction site. . Casper was crying for days lost an alone with no Friends.
Betty gave the poor kid ghost a big hug and invited Casper to live in her house.
Casper insisted none of the other Toons living in her house would except him cause he's a ghost!
Betty told Casper They just gonna have to listen to her cause its her House her Rules!
Betty almost lost her job that day looking for Casper but it was worth it!
Betty had a horrible feeling Casper might of disappeared like all the other toons in her life!
But Betty was right Casper was disappearing from Loneliness of the lost of friend's!
Casper is a ghost and Casper obsession is being friends and helping friend's!
Casper's Obsession was nearly the death of him!
Later Casper felt like he owed Betty Boop his life!
Betty Boop was like the mother Casper never had!
Casper was sad but he knew his new home had people who were just as sad as him!
It was best to keep on smiling to make them feel better!
You see there are many ways a Toon can get Lost, for more then one reason!
Its not cause of one big villain pulling all the strings, like we like to believe!
Or a Toon losing there studio!
While that can hurt a Toon they can still find a way to survive!
Some even Melt away from Thinner or there ink fade's them away from neglect!
Ink can fade away it's not permanent forever!
Not all lost Toons end up in wasteland and get lucky or unlucky!
But then again if there in Wasteland There considered dead in ToonTown!
But even then!
some lost Toons never even make it to Wasteland!
Some go a place much more terrible!
But that place will save fore later!
Present Time:
Olive Oil's prov.
Olive heard a pot being banged.
"Ok guys you know what that means Dinners almost ready!" Olive Oil said.
There in the hallway was 'Woody the Wood Pecker, Banging a pot with a wooden spoon.
"Where coming soon woody just be patient! Now did you set up the Table?" Question Olive Oil.
Woody gives a small nod.
"Ok will be there soon!"
Woody gave smaller bang on the pot then a small smile.
And walked away to the dinning room.
Woody the Wood Pecker Flashback:
Woody the Wood Pecker if you didn't noticed did not talk this whole time!?
WHY? Why? Why cause Woody was a damaged Toon, who lost his voice!
Woody could still talk there was nothing wrong with his voice box!
but Woody just refused to speak.
By damaged I mean, Woody was damaged on the inside.
In fact no one knows why?
Woody just wont speak anymore but what they could get out of him was he saw something horrific.
Also because Woody lost his voice he was less Looney and Crazy.
Witch was even more scary.
It was like whatever happened to Woody made his personality take a one eighty turn!
That made Woody a different person more down to earth and less happy or hyper.
For once Woody actually used hid brain to learn things.
Woody knew he couldn't get a job not when he couldn't talk.
And for a while he was useless in the house considering he had no life skill's.
But Lately Woody was learning from Olive how to cook.
Woody didn't know why he was learning cooking.
This is woman's work, or so he was told!?
But it was something to do since Betty did get him a home!
and Woody did not want to live on the streets of toon town again!
Woody felt shy of pretty Betty but knew she was a kind person.
Back to the Present Time:
"Whats for dinner?" Betty trying to make small talk as they walk there way to the dinning room.
"Spinach! Hopefully Popeye will eat it this time! It used to be his favorite!" Olive said.
"Hopefully." Replied Betty.
Casper spoke above there heads. "Guys I'll try to get the other's down for dinner ok!"
"Thanks Casper!" said both Betty and Olive at the same time.
Casper laughed it was funny to see these two Woman getting along!
considering there past where they used to hate each other?
But that gave Casper hope!
Hope, that good things still can come out of the living Toon's!
Casper's Prov.
There where many residents of Betty's apartment house.
Many came and went over the years.
Casper was one of the permanent residents!
considering Casper had no where else to go…
First stop was Heckle and Jeckle the Magpie's!
They, where interesting pair!
Who did not get along with Popeye!
They didn't stay forever considering they where a birds of a feather!
But they enjoyed a good laugh once In a while.
Casper knocked on a door. "Guys its super time!"
"Coming!" They both said at the same time.
There was no need to open the door!
considering they would just fly out the window and into the window that was the dinning room!
Eat there fill and be on there merry way!
Onto the next room Pink Panther was in this room.
There was a note on the door.
"Out to Lunch."
Lunch pasted, witch meant the Pink Panther would once again be out all day and back at night to sleep.
Well Onto the other room's door's!
Now, the next door coming up was locked. But locked for a reason. This room was for Betty's closest friend's Bimbo the Dog and Koko the clown.
But they had been missing for a few years.
No mater who came Betty left that room empty in hopes that her boys would come home!
Poor Betty even cleaned this room every week!
in hopes her boys would come to clean room when they came back.
That is IF they came back!
She even had a box in her room, that was empty, for her small white dog named Pudgy.
He was lost to.
Honesty Casper couldn't understand how Betty could be so nice when she had lost so much!
The next room was a small hole in the wall.
Casper only had to knock.
It was Mighty Mouse's sometimes home!
Casper always made sure not to pass threw the wall of Mighty Mouse's house so as not to disturb him.
a Zoom cam out of the hole only to return to his hole.
Might refused to eat with the other Toon's.
Mighty would grab his food in the Kitchen only to come back to his hole in the wall.
There where a few other rooms but they where empty at the moment.
Like the room for Popeye and Olive Oil two beds for both of them and a third bed for there friend Bluto.
Who, is still missing.
Popeye has become depressed since his fighting buddy has been gone.
Popeye was in the living room's rocking chair staring into space.
Poor Popeye, had all his fighting sprit left him.
He looked for weeks for his lost friend Bluto and the other missing Toons but to no avail.
Now Popeye wasn't the only Toon who gave up on the search for the lost Toon's.
Casper then past his own room he liked to sleep in that bed for the night.
Yes Ghost's can sleep to!
Another few room for the animal Toons who needed a place to sleep for the night!
There where other Toons who stayed at Betty Boop's apartment at one point but they all left for one reason or another.
At the top of the apartment on the roof.
There we see not much but clothes liner to hang Clothes.
A small garden for when food is Scares for these poor Toons.
A Shed to have the garden Tools.
And a Dog House.
this Toon Dog only stays to guard the garden full of Vegetables.
The Dog House used to Belong to Betty's dog Pudgy.
The dog now in the 'Dog house' blame's himself for the lost of the little white dog Puddy.
But not just the lost of Pudgy, but the other 'Lost Toons' he couldn't find.
So he stay's inside a doghouse like a common dog.
He tried so hard to find the lost Toons'!
So Now he lives' in the Dog House like a real DOG he feel's he is!
But this is not a Normal Dog this Dog used to be the Once Hero 'Underdog'!
But now he really feeling down under. But where is Underdogs friends like Sweet Polly?
Gone, and Considered Dead.
Just like all the other lost Toons.
So Underdog no longer has a reason to be Underdog.
No one wants there shoes shined anymore ether.
So Underdog cant even be Shoeshine boy.
Underdog doesnt even want to be called Underdog anymore since he feels he isnt even worthy of the name.
And what of the vitamin Pills that gave Underdog Strength.
There gone to.
Underdog feels a kinship with Popeye and Mighty mouse, considering they all went to look together for there lost friends!
They where like a hero team for a while!
only to find there gone forever!
Underdog knows he can never replace Pudgy in Betty's eyes.
Now Underdog doesn't always stay in the dog house but he tends to the Vegetable Garden while Betty is at work.
And Betty works the most then all of them.
Underdog cant even get a real job!
Why they wont except him cause he's a Dog!
Underdog hates himself for being a burden to Betty and the other's!
Times are hard.
Underdog pays no attention to the News paper or TV only the pigeons keep him company.
Underdog knows years has passed.
but he doesn't care to know how long.
Underdog keeps to himself most of the time but will come inside when the other Toons ask for him which is Breakfast and Dinner.
In Bettys apartment everyone eats lunch alone.
Underdog for years has been skipping lunch to save on money.
He's a Toon he can survive.
Know one knows he has been doing this!
but Underdog won't tell the others he doesnt want them to worry.
Besides why should they care.
There tight on money they need to save every penny.
Underdog threw much discipline wont eat the garden even if his tummy rumbles.
Threw all the craziness of Toon Town, Underdog has protected there Garden from Looney Toons, Of all kinds!
How did he do this?
(I don't know if you havent Noticed. But There is no Looney Toon's in Bettys Boop house.
No, not because they are not invited.
But because they are Toons who look out for there own!
Looney Toon's consider themselves all Brother's or Family!
They stay in a part of Toon Town made Especially For Warner Bros Company!
and Yess they might be owned by Disney now but they Refuse to live in Disney Land.
Betty Boop used to be part of Fleischer Studio's.
Betty is a part of Toon Town where Toons lose there Studio's.
The Toons are Segregated by there Studio and the less Popular you are the Less nice part of Toon Town you live in. )
So How can Underdog be a Hero, without his hero Strength energy pills?
Well Underdog took to what Popeye used to do eating Spinach.
At first Underdog grew Spinach in hope's someday Popeye would eat it again and get his Strength back.
But soon Curiosity got the better of Underdog and began eating Spinach quite often.
Underdog soon found out Spinach was a great way for a Toon to gain there Strength?!
No! Underdog did not gain his super Strength back.
but he was much Stronger then he was when he was Shoeshine Boy.
This was good it meant Underdog could throw off (with his garden Hoe's) any Toon who jumped into 'His' I mean Betty's Garden.
It took a while for Underdog to get used to Casper considering he was a ghost.
But since Casper didn't need to eat Casper was told it was ok to find the others to come to dinner.
Underdog had his straw hat on while carrying some new potted Plants, when he saw Casper come threw the roof wall.
Scaring Underdog to dropping the plants!
"Dinner Time!"
Crash!
"Casper! Look what you made me do!"
"Sorry Shoeshine!" Exclaimed Casper.
Casper was still nice to Underdog by not calling him Underdog.
Cause Underdog didn't want to go by name anymore. If you haven't notice Underdog is not speaking in rime because he doesn't consider himself a hero.
"Just, use the door next time!" Underdog face pam's.
"I can help fix them if you let me?"
Underdog was tempted to say no, but looked at Casper's face he looked very sorry.
"Fine. You can help. After Dinner!"
"Ok!"
Underdog started to go down the steps now Normally Casper would go right threw the walls back to Dinning Room. But Casper felt the need to walk with I mean Float with Underdog.
"I can get you there much quicker!"
"How?"
"We can go threw the walls!"
"I think I rather not."
Casper felt awkward.
"I'll tell everyone your on your way!" Casper smiled and flew threw the wall.
Casper really wanted to be friends with everyone! But sadly not everyone was willing to be friends with Casper! and Casper knew this! but it was still so hard!
Casper knew everyone was sad cause they lost so much friends. That's why Casper was understanding to everyone in this broken house.

"Popeye come to Dinner Betty's back from work!"
"Ill eat later!"
"No you gonna eat what I made and your gonna like it!"
"What is it?"
"Spinach!"
"I'll pass!"
"What is wrong with you Popeye you used to like Spinach!"
"That was before. . . ."
Popeye put his head down he sounded so sad his words made Olive give in.
"Fine! I have some pea soup you can eat instead."
"Thanks' Olive."
"I don't know what I'll do with you, your terrible!" she said with a sad smile.
he gave her for once a sad smile. "You quite a Terror yourself Olive." Popeye Countered with a bad Pun.
They both chuckled a laugh.
Now most people would think there fighting but these two are being the most Romantic they can Get!
Ok!
Telling each other Bad Funny puns, was a way of saying they love each other!
They'd do the same with Bluto!
Before Bluto disappeared. . .
"Well lets not keep Betty waiting."
Popeye didn't need to get up from his rocking chair. Olive pushed his chair to the dinning room it was easier this way.
There was Betty talking to Woody the wood Pecker about what he did wrong by setting the table. He put spoons instead of fork's.
Already Heckle and Jeckle where there perch on there chair.
They learned manner's only around Betty.
When Betty was gone they where back to being jerks!
She taught the Magpies to wait to eat for everyone.
So they can all eat together!
Popeye still had no idea how she did that?!
It was like this Girl had a spell on animals to listen her?!
All Animals Loved Betty Boop she was so kind and caring!
The other animals where already eating out of there bowls on the floor. T
hey where more Animal then human consensus.
So they had no need to wait for everyone.
As Popeye and Olive came in the dinning room.
Popeye once again couldn't keep is mouth shut.
"This place is like a Animal Zoo!"
Grumble, Grumbled, Popeye.
"Oh, Popeye mind you manner's!"
Exclaimed Olive Oil.
Betty then smiles and sunshine. "Oh Hi! Popeye! How are you today!"
Popeye Grumbled in response. "The same as always Betty! Terrible! "
Betty made a small frown. "Im Sorry to hear that! Maybe you'll feel better after Dinner!"
Just then Casper popped threw the wall.
Popeye nearly jumped out his seat!
Lucky Popeye kept his thought's to himself of not only living in a zoo but a haunted Apartment to!
"Guy's, Shoeshine is coming to Dinner! And Mighty Mouse already ate!"
"Oh and what about the Pink Panther?" Betty seemed worried.
"He's, not coming again. He's gone out to Lunch."
"Sounds to me he never wants to eats with us! In fact no one knows where he goes everyday!" contoured Popeye.
"Popeye! The Pink Panther is free to come and go and he please's! He still pays his rent on time!" Exclaimed Olive Oil.
The Pink Panther just's slide's the money in envelope under Betty's door. The Pink Panther was nice guy to pay on time.
"He might not like our Vegetables!" Popeye muttered.
"I wouldn't blame him he is a carnivore he needs to eat meat." Interrupted Underdog or Shoeshine as he came in.
"Shoeshine Im so glad you came! Where all ready!"
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
A bang from a pot interrupted everyone. It was Woody he listened silently to everyone while he was hungry. Woody needed everyone to listen to him that it was time to eat. Woody could still not talk.
Betty smiled in understanding smile she just knew what Woody wanted.
"Your right Woody it's time to eat! Now everyone say grace!"
What's this?! Toons Praying for there supper!? Yess, Some habit's never die.
These Toons where so old that things common back in the past where still practice by them!
But they only prayed if they would eat together at the Table.
But what do Toons not real Humans have to Pray for?
Well let's see what Betty has to say.
Since she's the head of the household.
As they all hold hands she spoke.
"Our Father Thank you for this food. and Bless this food, when we have so little. Thanks to Olive and Woody's cooking.
And, Shoeshine's Garden.
Im glad I made it safety from work back.
And Thanks For my Job and our Jobs.
And Im glad we all were able to come all to Dinner today.
And Pray for The one's we love who are lost that they be able to come home again.
And bless this food to our Body's. Amen."
Yes this is sad but Prayer's is all they have left! since they lost their friends.
Then these poor starving Toons ate, their meal like savage animals!
Like this could be there Last Meal!
Cause it most likely could be there last!
Betty then stood up form her chair she had something to say.
'Guy's I— '
Instantly there was a knock at the Door.
Popeye grumbled.
'Well who's gonna get the door?!'
Before anything could escalate Betty chimed in.
'I'll get it!'
Knock, Knock, Knock,Knock,
'Im coming!'
Knock, Knock, Knock,Knock,
'I'll be there in a minute!'
Betty should of looked threw the key hole in the door. But for so long she had only friends come over.
Betty made Gasp with her hands to her mouth!
'Oh! Who might you be?'
In a pleading frantic voice a little demon said.
'Please Miss Betty! I need your help to help Felix!'
This little devil held out a note to Betty.
Betty grasp hold of the little note.
Betty read it.

In a trembling small voice Betty said.
'Who are you? An, Where did you get this?'
'My names Bendy I'm a game Toon.
And Felix the cat gave it to me!
I need your help Betty to save him!'
Around the corner the other toons who lived in this apartment gasped they heard the whole thing!
