Memlo vs. Wakko
A/N: I do not own anyone they belong to Warner Brothers. Enjoy everyone
"Alright Memlo we know you're one of the people responsible for the death of Yakko Warner" an officer slammed his hands down on a cold metal table.
Memlo remained silent smirking over so slightly, "So what if I was? It was worth it in the end to see those little brats suffer so much!"
Dot and Wakko watched from behind the glass both feeling anger coursing through their veins. Dot wiped her eyes and hugged her older brother for support, she had been hoping and dreading for this day when they would finally get answers to all of their questions.
"Well?" the officer asked again.
Memlo leaned back, "Fine I'll tell you all about how we pulled it off. It was real simple actually Buddy and I crossed paths and the thing that brought us together was our hatred for the Warner's. The whole plan was actually his idea, but since he had been banned from the studio lot he needed someone to help him get in. That was easy enough for me since I was producing a movie there at the time. Under the cover of night we rigged the water tower with explosives just to ensure that no one would survive the tower collapsing in such a way. Of course somehow like always those brats found a way to cheat death and make our lives a living hell."
"How could he hate us so much" Dot started to cry.
Wakko rubbed her back, "I dunno, but he can't hurt us now Dot. They'll protect us from the evil people like him and Buddy."
"I guess you're right" Dot sniffed and looked back out the window as the interigation moved forward, "I wonder how Claire is doing we haven't heard from her in awhile now"
Wakko stood next to her, "I'm sure they're busy trying to help her, Dot. Until then it's just us but we'll be okay I know we will be"
"You're right" Dot smiled trying to be strong.
The two watched for hours as the cops tried to squeeze as much information out of Memlo as possible. They started to understand just what kind of monsters they were dealing with, and how they had just wanted to sit back and watch the Warner children burn. Neither one of them could think about what would happen if Yakko hadn't of sacrificed himself, would the two menacing men had gotten their wish? Pushing the thoughts aside Wakko and Dot decided to step out and attempt to get some fresh air, and figure out what was going to happen next. Wakko was determined to press charges against the two, and it was obvious they would have a strong case against Buddy and Memlo. Part of him still wanted to take matters into his own hands, but knew that was the last thing their brother would have wanted. Their thoughts drifted to their friend, how was she doing? Claire was usually one on calling at least once a day to check up on them, but to not hear from her so late in the afternoon started to stir up fears and doubts.
"You two may want to come back inside, someone's on the line for ya" Bugs came out and consoled the two.
"Thanks Bugs" Wakko yawned and pulled Dot back into the large stone building, once he got to the phone he picked up the receiver, "Hello?"
"Good to hear your voice, Wakko" a rather tired sounding Claire responded.
"We thought you had forgotten about us!" Wakko teased.
"Would I do such a thing? Sorry I've been asleep most of the day have I missed anything major?"
"Nothing much I guess, Memlo has fessed up to everything Dot and I are going to press charges" Wakko smiled faintly, "Do you think you'll be able to be here for the trial?"
"I'll try, can't make any promises but I'll try." Claire responded before going into a coughing fit.
Wakko frowned a little, "Just take care of yourself first, was good to hear from you"
The eldest Warner hung up the phone and looked at Dot who seemed to understand exactly what was going on. Feeling defeated she turned around and looked out the window into the busy city streets, at least things were starting to get better. For a short while silence consumed the room that the two sat in until an officer came back out and tried to console the children once more.
"So what would you like to do?" the officer asked.
Wakko looked at him grimly, "I am going to do whatever it takes to press charges against Buddy and Memlo. They murdered my brother in cold blood, destroyed Warner Brother's Studio property, and then tried to hurt my little sister. That is something I will not stand for"
The officer nodded, "They both lawyered up, but I'm sure you two can afford a good prosecution team. One of the other officers will take you two back home. I wish the best of luck for both of you."
"Thank you" Dot smiled.
Wakko nodded, "Thank you for doing everything you could. I'm sure my brother is at peace now."
The officer nodded and left to end their shift, leaving the two Warners alone once more. The two had gotten used to the feeling, but at times it still got them rather down and depressed. Within ten minutes another officer appeared and took the two children back to the studio lot, where they were welcomed with a surprise. On the grounds of where the old water tower stood, a new one took its place. In front of it was Plotz, Nurse, Scratchansniff, and even Ralph.
"Welcome home" Plotz smiled and handed a key to the tower to Wakko.
Wakko felt his eyes water a little, "T-Thank you…"
"Everything has been placed back the way it used to be, We're just sorry it took so long" Plotz apologized.
"Don't worry about it" Dot smiled, "Come on Wakko let's go home!"
Wakko nodded, "Yeah, it's been far too long"
Everyone smiled as the duo rushed up the tower and quickly unlocked the door and shut it behind them. Things were still far from normal but some normality had been restored with the water tower being back in its rightful place. Meanwhile on the inside Wakko and Dot started to cry as soon as the door clicked behind them. They were moved by the generosity of Plotz and everyone else to ensure the water tower was just as it was before. There was just one thing missing that they would never be able to replace in the water tower.
"Yakko, we're home" Wakko smiled bitterly.
Dot wiped her eyes, "It's been too long, but everything still looks the same. Almost feels the same too"
Wakko nodded smiling faintly, "Yeah, almost does"
For once in a long time things had started to return to normal for the two remaining Warners.
