Reunion
A/N: I do not own Wakko and Dot they belong to Warner Brothers. Also when I put 'end' at the chapter it's just the end of that, don't worry you'll know when this story is finished.
Dot and Wakko sat in the airport anxiously for a flight that should be coming in at any moment. I had been about three days since they heard from Claire, and got the news that she would be coming back to the studio. That news alone gave the two remaining Warners hope that things would eventually return to normal, of course that's if they knew what normal really was. Wakko continued to stay on lookout while Dot seemed to be off daydreaming again. After the horrible ride to the airport Wakko didn't blame her one bit, though something didn't sit right with him. The figure that had saved them before at the mall had appeared again, and just as before saved them from being nearly killed. Though they kept their face concealed there was just something about this figure that struck Wakko as odd.
While one Warner was in thought and the other in la-la land neither of them noticed the girl walking up on them. Claire laughed a little at the sight before her and decided to just stand there and see if they actually would notice her. The treatments had been long and hard, but thankfully her toonitis was in remission again. Noticing that she was getting nowhere she started to hum the Animaniacs theme which instantly caught their attention.
"Claire!" Dot instantly jumped up and hugged her.
The girl smiled and hugged Dot back, "Great to see you again, Dot. Looks like you've been doing well"
"I've been trying" Dot grinned and nudged Wakko, "Hey come on get up and see who's here!"
Claire smirked slightly and quickly put on a clown mask as Wakko turned around, "Hello little puppy boy!"
"CLOWN!" Wakko screamed and drew out his mallet.
Dot and Claire burst out laughing, "Wakko relax!"
"That was kinda cruel" Wakko muttered.
Claire kneeled down and looked at him, "Sorry just couldn't resist I needed a good dose of humor, and you around clowns just seems to do the trick. Can you forgive me, Wakko?"
Wakko sheepishly nodded, "I suppose so, after all you are our best special friend!"
"Thanks Wakko, you have no idea what that means to me" Claire smiled gently and patted his head, "Now why don't we get out of here?"
"Sounds good to me!" Dot chimed in and followed the others out.
Wakko and Dot noticed that their friend looked different then when they had last saw her, she had lost weight and almost looked like a skeleton. They figured it had probably been from the treatments, and paid no more mind to it. They were just happy that she was back and could offer a little comfort when it came time for the trial. It wasn't going to be until next month, but they would take whatever time they could get with their friend. The trial had been scheduled earlier, but had been pushed back due to issues among the jury. That didn't stop the resolve of the now oldest Warner though, he wouldn't rest until he saw that justice was finally served for his brother. The ride back to the studio was rather quiet due to the fact that Claire had fallen asleep in the back seat with them. Scratchy who had offered to be a chaperone for the day noticed as well, and asked that Wakko and Dot be patient with their friend.
"She seems really tired" Dot sighed softly.
Scratchy looked at her from the rearview mirror, "Well Dot the treatments are very hard on the body, she'll probably be drained for some time."
Wakko looked just as sad as Dot, but then smiled, "But she's here and will be here with us when the trial actually starts. We should be thankful that she's even still alive."
"Wakko…" Dot beamed, "that was unlike you completely!"
"Oh zip it" Wakko scowled back at his sister.
"Somethings never change, do they?" Claire asked keeping her eyes still shut.
"Guess not" the two Warners responded in unison.
The three burst out laughing at the reminiscence of earlier times. For the rest of the trip Dot and Wakko filled Claire in on what had been going on around the studio, and more importantly the case involving Buddy and Memlo. The girl sat there intently listening to everything they had to say as if she was taking in as much information as possible. After what almost felt like an eternity the car finally pulled back into the Warner Brother's studio lot. Wakko and Dot both jumped out glad to be free from the confines of the car, Claire wasn't far behind them. The three took in a deep breath of the closest thing to fresh air found in Burbank. Wakko turned his attention to the trunk of Scratchy's car and grabbed Claire's bags for her.
The girl smiled and nodded in thanks and followed the two Warner children up the tower ladder, she had heard stories of the infamous water tower, but had never been inside of it herself. Dot smiled and opened the door and invited Claire inside, and once she did the girl felt like she had been transported to another world. Looking around she could see a lot of memrobelia from the golden days of the studio, including several posters and pictures featuring Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes cast. Rummaging through her bags Claire pulled out a box collection of the Animaniacs series, and then turned to the two remaining Warners.
"Are you two interested just for times sake?" She asked.
Dot felt her eyes water, "Of course! Where did you get those?"
Claire shrugged, "Internet."
"Faboo! I'll go make the popcorn!" Wakko grinned and rushed off to the kitchen.
Dot laughed a little, "And I'll be the cute little tour guide, this way please!"
"Just lead the way" Claire smiled and followed Dot around the tower for a quick tour.
The last stop was the living room in which Wakko was already waiting for them with a giant tub of popcorn. Grinning from ear to ear Dot joined him and soon Claire followed suit after placing the first DVD into the DVD player. The show's theme started to play as they searched through the menu for a marathon option. Upon finding it the trio began to re-watch the entire series from beginning to end.
The trio had made it to the halfway point of the series and Dot had just started to doze off. Claire was still wide awake and watching intently and recalling her favorite lines that were memorized. To Wakko's surprise a lot of them were actually his and Dot's. As the night continued it slowly made its way to morning,a and Wakko wanted to do one last thing before sleep decided to claim him. At some point Wakko pulled out his journal and turned to a new page, he was trying to get back into the habit that he once held so dear to him.
Yakko,
It feels like forever since Dot and I have felt his happy. Claire has finally come back into our lives and has offered a little light in a dark time. Right now we're actually going through a marathon view of the entire Animaniacs series, though the only ones up now are myself and Claire. Dot fell asleep during the Cutie and the Beast, which is kinda funny since she liked doing that one so much. With the trial looming ever so close, I just hope that maybe somehow you are trying to find a way back into this world. I keep thinking about what I have to do, and I think I finally have an answer. I just need to be myself and do what I can to keep Dot safe. I may not be the greatest big brother in the world, but I certainly took lessons from the best. Dot and I both can say that actually, anyways I guess that's all I have for now since I should try and get to sleep eventually. Even though so much time has passed, I still miss you.
Love,
Wakko
