Wakko's Resolve

A/N: Hello everyone I know the story has been on haitus for some time. I am finally updating after developing the ending chapters, and figuring out the dynamics of the character relationships. I didn't want to update the story with bad content so I had to step away from it for a bit. Hopefully within a few chapters it will be complete. Thanks for hanging in there with me everyone I appreciate it.

Wakko sat in a quiet office across from the attorney that been selected to prosecute Memlo the only surviving person who was responsible for his brother's death, "So can we still try him?"

The lawyer nodded, "We can. Due to the damage done by the bomb we'll have to move the location, but yes the trial will continue as planned."

"That's good, I just want justice to be done for Yakko and everyone that Buddy injured" Wakko responded.

"Your brother would be proud" the lawyer smiled faintly, "You have really matured Wakko, though I am sure it was for the sake of Dot that brought about your change."

"To a degree" Wakko smiled faintly, "Thank you for seeing me on such short notice though I was in the area and just wanted to ensure that things would continue."

"Certainly, if anything comes up I'll be sure to let you know" the lawyer responded and saw Wakko out of the office.

The now eldest Warner nodded and walked out into the now quieting down city block. He had ventured out for the day since Dot was spending time with Claire before she left once more. Thanks to the setback from Buddy they'd be facing Memlo alone in the courtroom since their friend had to return to her treatments. Inwardly sighing Wakko started to make his way towards the direction of the studio lot, he should return home and say his goodbyes to Claire before she was gone again.

"Yakko, when will things start to get better?" Wakko asked, though knowing he wouldn't get an answer.

Meanwhile at the studio Dot dabbed her eyes as she watched her friend pack their few belongings once more, "Claire do you really have to go?"

Claire sighed sadly, "I'm sorry Dot I can't stay any longer. I know things will be okay though you have Wakko with you."

Dot looked like she was going to cry again for the third time that day, "We've always done better as a trio! So that way Wakko doesn't have to completely lose himself to being the oldest…"

"Dot.." Claire smiled and patted her head, "Yakko is still with you no matter what, you know that right? As long as you two carry his memories on in your hearts he'll never leave your side. You're actually quite lucky to that Wakko stepped up to the plate to fill the role as the oldest."

"I wish he didn't though" Dot confided, "In a way I feel like I lost the brother I had."

Claire was about to say something but a voice cut in anyways, "I'm still me Dot, I just have to be a little more serious at times. If I didn't at least try there's no promise that Yakko would be rolling in his grave" Wakko responded leaning against the doorway.

Dot nodded understanding what her brother was getting at, "Yeah you're right but still, I miss the old you too Wakko. The one that I at times found to be so repulsive I was sure you were adopted."

"I'm still that person, but for now I have to make sure you're taken care of and safe." Wakko replied pulling his sister into a hug, "It's a shame you can't stay."

"I'd love to really, but unfortunately if I don't head back who knows what will happen. Will you two be okay on your own?" Claire asked throwing her bag over her shoulder.

Wakko nodded, "You have nothing to worry about I'll be sure to keep Dot and myself out of trouble, within reason of course."

"There's the Wakko I remember, take care you two. Hopefully when the trial starts again I can come back and be there for you."

"We hope you can" Dot smiled and watched as Claire descended from the water tower one last time and then turned to her brother, "Wakko? Will we really be okay?"

Wakko nodded, "Of course we will be, Dot. We have our friends with us, and most importantly we have each other. I know things are tense right now, but in time it'll be back to normal."

"You're right" Dot smiled feeling like she was about to cry again, "So what should we do now, Wak?"

The now oldest Warner smiled and offer his hand to his sister, "I heard there is a new filming project going on, and it would be a shame if the resident pests didn't get a cameo now wouldn't it?"

Relief washed over Wakko as Dot smiled and nodded allowing him to lead her down to where the filming would be taking place. They decided to carefully pop in to where they wouldn't be noticed and waited for the exact moment to come out. As the actors came out into a romantic scene Wakko pulled out an overcoat and wrapped Dot in it, "Go get em Dot."

Dot grinned and took the place of the one actress, "Thanks, Wakko."

As the one actor came in for the kiss Dot felt herself to start melting, "Hello Nurse!"

"Who let the Warners on the set!?" The director called as Dot melted into a puddle under her coat.

Much to Wakko's surprise the entire cast started to laugh, almost as if they were happy that the two Warners had decided to pay their set a visit. The male actor smiled and helped Dot back to her feet, "It is truly an honor to meet you Ms. Warner. I was always a huge fan of the show."

Dot decided to play coy, "Aww why thanks. Everyone seems so happy though."

"That's because we are" one actress spoke up, "To see you two running around the studio lot again brings happiness and joy to everyone."

Wakko smiled feeling like he had something returning back to his life, "Then we'll have to make it a habit of running around the lot more often, huh Dot?"

Dot nodded, "How can we not if it makes people happy? You almost look happy too Wakko!"

Wakko smiled, "I really am, it's like I have a reason again to laugh and smile besides my adorable little sister. Until Memlo is put away, and the world is laughing again even if it's just here on the studio lot I'll do what I can to make sure everyone laughs and smiles."

"We're with you there Wakko!" Dot smiled hugging her brother, "He'd be proud you know."

Wakko nodded, "I know, if anything he'd somehow to find a way to make the moment comedy gold."

Everyone laughed nodding in agreement, and soon the shooting was back to normal with the Warners being allowed to stay. Deciding not to cause any more trouble for the time being as the filming for the day ended Wakko decided to use a large mirror and came up with the best Gookie he could. Before long the cast, and crew were in tears from their laughter. Wakko finally felt like his old self as he carried Dot back up the water tower and tucked her into bed. Smiling softly he went to his desk and looked to the leather bound journal that offered him some solace during the night. Picking up his pen he turned to new page and began to write his heart out once more.

Yakko,

I don't know what it was about today, but I finally feel like my old self again. Today Dot and I ran around the studio causing whatever trouble we could, and it actually paid off. We caused a whole group to burst into tears from laughing so hard. Seeing them laugh and smile really made me happy, and brought back memories of how we would cause chaos anywhere we went on the studio. It's kinda lonely here at the tower since Claire had to leave again. We're hoping that she can return when Memlo is brought to justice. I still can't believe what happened, but it's in the past now and for my sake and Dot's I need to look towards the future. You always taught us to look for the best things in life, and slowly we're finding them again. I hope you're at peace wherever you're at, and know that you are missed.

Love,

Wakko
