Reaching the Island of Darkness was no small feat. Having braved a storm that brought about Star-teeth, the Bounty had been rendered immobile and drifted on the ocean, before crashing into an isolated prison. To find Zane's father was both a boon, and a concern. To keep him safe was the goal of the Ninja, just as it was his goal to fix the Bounty. Braving, and freeing a Leviathan was all Lloyd, proving his strength and heart. As everyone continued to hide the Bounty on the shore, Kai watches a patrol of Stone Warriors pass by.
"This whole place is swarming with Stone Warriors. We're definitely in the right place." Kai warns.
"Brilliant thing about us being Ninja and knowing how to hide." Jay boasts, doing minimal work to actual hide the ship.
"Who want's to hide, when you can fight?" Cole complains.
"We have no way to damage that army, Cole. We will fight when we have a way to harm them." Kai assures.
"That is why we must find the Temple of Light." Wu adds, leading everyone back inside to Misako.
"The scrolls say that there is a hidden temple on the island. If you find it, it will give the ninja pure elemental powers. Powers that can destroy the Stone Army." Misako explains.
"So you're saying we get to fight? Woohoo!" Cole exclaims.
"And I thought I was a battle maniac." Kai mutters.
"And for you, Lloyd, it says that once the Green Ninja finds the instrument of peace, he will strike it, and know the power of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master." Misako adds.
"Ultimate Spinjitzu Master?" Lloyd repeats in confusion.
"It means that you will be able to invoke the power of the Golden Dragon. An ancient fighting style only practised by the First Spinjitzu Master." She elaborates.
"This sounds too good to be true. There's a catch somewhere." Kai states with suspicion.
"The catch is; the Temple could be anywhere on the island, and all we have is this." Wu answers, holding out a medallion.
"The medallion, acts like a compass. When all three holes match up, the location shall be revealed." Zane's father adds.
"How'd you know that?" Jay asks.
"Oh, I did a lot of reading in my spare time. Adventure stories were my favourite." He admits with a laugh.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Zane asks, resulting in everyone standing up and moving out, all but Lloyd, who is held back by Wu.
"Keep to the shadows, Ninja. Garmadon does not yet know we are here. Let's keep it that way." Wu orders, before the ninja depart.
Finding Garmadon's camp was easier than anyone expected, and watching it from afar was even easier. But Kai felt that things would not stay that way for long, as he watched Garmadon animatedly order the Stone Warriors. His main focus, however, was on the crate of dark matter he held. A key ingredient to the creation of Stone Warriors.
"Wait." Zane notes. "Look!" He points to an open storage area, where his falcon lay.
"I can probably get him without anyone noticing." Kai assures. "I need to get to a bush nearby that shed." Without waiting for a response, Kai dashes away, bush to bush, until he is only a dozen or so meters, before he brings the downed bird toward him with a telekinetic pull.
"I see you now." A raspy, evil voice calls to Kai, making him freeze for a moment.
"The Overlord, I presume." He retorts, ensuring the falcon was held close to his body. "What did you do to the Null?" The Overlord laughs, a deep, menacing sound.
"A simple bit of Alchemy, cursed one." The Overlord answers cryptically. "But I must truly thank the First One, for his actions not only cursed him, but the land we now stand upon." Stone Warriors began to move in Kai's direction. "And now that I know you are cursed, I can follow you wherever you go."
"That's just lovely. If you come to my home, make sure to knock first." Kai retorts, bolting out of the bushes before the Stone Warriors could make an attempt to grab him. As he activates his spinjitzu, he clears the camp, but the army continues to follow. "I hope you found it! Cause we have company!" Kai shouts to the others, who immediately begin to head back, Kai, and the Stone Warriors, hot on their heels.
As they return to the Bounty, Kai shouts once more.
"We've got incoming! Prepare for a fight!"
"How many spotted you? One? Two?" Wu asks.
"ALL OF THEM!" Kai screams the answer, turning to face the army, nothing but the damaged falcon in his grasp.
"Did you at least find the Temple?" Misako questions.
"Top of the mountain." Jay answers quickly, looking to the vehicle that sat prepared for the ninja.
"Everyone get in. Make your way to the Temple, and don't stop until you reach it." Wu orders. The ninja jump in, with Kai being the last one, the Stone Warriors moving into the clearing. Lloyd already sat in the vehicle, as Cole closes the canopy, protecting us from anything else for the moment.
As the rock-slide takes the Stone Warriors back to the base of the mountain, the ninja gain the time they need to begin searching for the Temple atop the mountain. As they search, the light that showed the way shines bright, alerting them to the Temple, finding their way to it.
As Lloyd opens the doors, the inside of the Temple is shown to be covered in murals, all depicting the events that had led to the current moment, from Wu recruiting Kai, to the Devourer, to the current moment that they look at the murals.
"How can it all be here? How did they know what would happen?" Jay questions.
"Destiny." Lloyd answers.
"The basis of each even was predetermined. We would have fought them, either the way we did, or another way, but they all occurred." Kai adds, before both he and Lloyd look at a particular mural.
"I think I know what we need to do." Lloyd states, pointing to the image, before brushing away the dust in the middle, revealing his symbol. "Find your symbol at each corner." Kai, Zane, Cole and Jay each search, placing themselves at each location. "Now what?" Lloyd wonders aloud, before the shouts and cries of the Stone Warriors alert the ninja to the nearing arrival of their foes. Lloyd remembers the words of his mother, before looking up. "The bell. It's an instrument. You guys ready?" He asks.
"Bring it." Cole answers for everyone. Lloyd lumps, and uses a pillar to rebound off, gaining even more height so that he can strike the bell, the sound echoing beyond the mountain, yet not deafening to those right below. As Lloyd lands back at his area, the bell emits a heavenly light, before a beam is sent down, ricocheting off Lloyd, and off the crystals around the temple, each illuminating the pillars of each ninja, their attire changing, and a weapon hilt materializing in their hands. As Lloyd begins to levitate, spinning on the spot, each hilt emits a snap hiss, as elemental blades extend, each ninja feeling a burst of power that courses through them.
"Guys! Send him your powers!" Kai orders, and without hesitation, the elements of Fire, Earth, Ice and Lightning converge on Lloyd, changing his attire, and a burst of energy surrounds him before he lands. Kai can feel the overflowing power leech from Lloyd, and calls to him.
"LET 'EM HAVE IT!" Lloyd shouts. With a powerful display, each Ninja manages to defeat sects of the Stone Army that attacks, their pure elemental powers acting as primordial energy that stripped the Warriors of their invincibility. Lloyd, released the Golden Dragon, forcing the remaining Warriors to retreat, or die. Now, the tides had turned, and those on the side of good stood a chance.
