So full disclosure, I thought about deleting this chapter but it felt wrong to not give Tris and Tobias any happy memories before they go off to college and things get rough. Since I had it already written out I decided to post it. Hope you enjoy it! Love Ya'll!
As they coast to graduation, Tobias and Tris get ready for their senior trip to the Bahamas. Natalie was a bit hesitant about Caleb and Tris going but Caleb had made a compelling argument that Lauren was allowed to go on her senior trip, it just happened to be two weeks after graduation instead of the week before. Classes were done and all they had to do was walk across the stage. Lauren's trip had been to Miami but since this was an international trip, Natalie was still hesitant. Tris added that everyone going was 18 and they were all going off to college in only six weeks and it would be a good experience before being sent off into the world alone. Andrew finally caved in after talking to Marcus Eaton and Reggie Pedread.
Tris and Caleb had all their stuff loaded in the car. Andrew was going to drop his kids and their friends at the airport in a van since all of them lived on the same street. Natalie made a hearty breakfast for Zeke, Uriah, Tris, Caleb, Tobias, and Susan before they head off the airport with Hana and Evelyn coming over as well to see them off.
When they get to the airport, Susan giggles as she watches Andrew Prior give the twins a thorough talking to. Caleb and Tris smile and nod, listening intently to their father as their friends watch.
"So are you two good?" Tobias asks curiously as they walk to the security line. His parents were nowhere as strict as Natalie and Andrew Prior. He really was shocked that Tris and Caleb were able to come on the trip.
"Yeah, We had to get the whole, we are 18, we go to jail for real if we do something stupid and it will ruin our lives talk" Caleb laughs out as he shakes his head. Caleb wasn't one for mischief and trouble even though hanging around Zeke, Uriah, and Tobias over the years had gotten him into a few situations.
Susan leans over to Tris and whispers "Do your parents still think you and I are sharing a room?"
Tris feels her cheeks heat up and nods in response. She and Tobias hadn't been dating when they booked the trip and it was always the plan for Susan and Tris to share while Uriah and Tobias roomed together and Zeke and Caleb. Zeke and Uriah hadn't minded switching rooms and both Caleb and Tobias looked like two kids in a candy store when Tris and Susan told them the plan they were going to switch so Susan and Caleb could stay together and Tris and Tobias could too.
A few hours later the group arrives in Nassau. There were several others from their senior class that were on the trip as well including Molly Atwood and Gabe Hernandez. Tris hoped there wouldn't be any trouble between the two of them. Gabe and Molly had started dating earlier in the year and she seemed to keep her snarky comments about Tris to herself now that she wasn't constantly chasing Tobias. Thankfully Maria Kelly decided not to come, she was still harboring animosity against Tris about prom even though Tobias made it clear if she should have an issue with anyone it should be him.
"Everyone plan to meet back for dinner at 7" Susan yells out as everyone breaks from the front desk of the resort from checking in when they arrive in Nassau. Tris shakes her head as Tobias grabs their suitcases. Susan was the eternal planner and coordinator wanting everyone to stay on her schedule that she had outlined.
Tris and Tobias had been having sex for almost two months but she still had butterflies about them actually sharing a room together for the next 5 days. The hotel had changed her and Susan's room requests the week before from two double beds to a king bed. Tris and Tobias wasted no time breaking it in when they got in the room.
The next day the group spent relaxing on the beach and dancing in the pool. Tobias soaked up every minute of fun and relaxation knowing that the fall was going to be intense. College basketball was going to be much more work than high school. Tris had drank before but not heavily, it was interesting to see how many people were completely wasted at the pool. She, Tobias, and Uriah had a long conversation about making sure they were smart about what social media posts they put up and getting caught in compromising videos. They knew personal branding started right now as all of them had seen an increase in their IG and Twitter followers since National Signing Day.
Tris snaps cute pics of her and Tobias to post, she puts up a few of her and Caleb and a few group pics but makes sure no one has a drink in their hand even though the legal drinking age in the Bahamas was 18. She gets some great videos of the pool games. Uriah was a favorite of the event staff at the hotel, helping get other guests to participate in the pool games that afternoon.
That night everyone heads to the club on the resort property for some dancing and more drinking. Tris and Tobias stayed in their own corner with Zeke, Uriah, Susan, Caleb, and a few other folks they were cool with. Tobias was loving the glow Tris had to her skin from spending the day on the beach. She had changed up her look in the past few months, which he liked but it was still casual and not too girly which he liked but he knew it drew more attention for her.
When Tris leaves to go to the bathroom a guy grabs her arm as she walks past the bar.
"Let go of me," she says immediately with a scowl on her face as she tries to walk away.
"Why don't you come have a drink with me and my friends?" The guy insists. Tris felt disgusted by the way he licked his lips and looked her body up and down. He was not much taller than her but had tawny skin like Tobias with curly hair. He reeked of cheap cologne which made Tris turn her nose up.
"How about I don't" Tris remarks annoyedly and yanks her arm back but the guy tightens his grip on her.
"Don't be like that, we're just trying to have a good time, My name is Peter"
This guy gave Tris the creeps. The fact that he was being so aggressive was pissing her off.
"And I have a boyfriend so I'm not interested," Tris says forcefully.
Peter gets up and moves in front of Tris so she can't pass to go to the bathroom.
She stops and narrows her eyes. She wasn't going to let this guy think that he could intimidate her.
"Move!" She demands as his friends smirk. His arrogance radiated off of him. Tris had her hands on her hips as she refused to back down.
"Just one drink, your boyfriend won't even know. Cute piece of ass like you should be looking for some fun. My boys and I just want to hang out" Peter comments as he runs his hand down Tris's arm which she immediately snatches away from him.
"I believe my girlfriend said to leave her alone," Tobias says in a deep voice walking up behind Peter.
Peter turns around looking Tobias up and down but doesn't say anything as he moves aside this time. Tris smiles at him and moves to take his hand. She gives Peter an eye roll as she walks past him. Peter glares at the couple as Tobias walks with her the rest of the way to the restroom.
On the third day of their trip, Tris spies a basketball court on the resort property, and at breakfast, she asks if anyone wants to play a pick-up game. Tobias, excited, is the first person to say yes along with Uriah.
"Do you ever think about anything but basketball?" Molly says dramatically with an eye roll across the table.
"Actually yes," Tris snaps back with an attitude and goes to sit on Tobias' lap and gives him a full-on kiss with tongue that he happily returns.
"Ugh" Molly returns and gets up and walks away.
Tris laughs despite the fact that she was annoyed. She was over Molly and her comments. She had been having such a good time, she was determined to let them get to her while they were in the Bahamas.
After breakfast, she, Uriah, Zeke, Caleb, Susan, and Tobias make their way over to the basketball court. Tobias grabs one of the balls and he and Tris play around shooting until three guys walk up. Tris recognizes one as the obnoxious guy Peter from the club the night before.
"Hey, we want to use the court," he says arrogantly walking to the middle of the court with his friends behind him.
"Well, we are using it" Tobias replies with just as much arrogance in his voice, picking up his dribble to hold the ball at his side.
"How about we play you for the court? We win, you come back later, you win, we'll leave" Tris offers.
Peter scoffs, "Let's get this over with. Me, Drew, and Akil against your team"
Tris moves to the center of the court and Peter once again scoffs.
"Really, why are we even wasting our time if you have a girl on your team? This will be over before it starts"
Tobias smiles at Tris, this was going to be fun. He knew better than to underestimate her. Tris, Uriah, and Tobias were very comfortable with each other on the court, whoever this guy was he had no idea how good they were.
"We'll see about that" Tris says amused as she picks up her leg to stretch her quad muscle as Uriah jogs over to join them.
"I got him," Tris says motioning to Peter. She wanted nothing more than to show this creep up.
"First 15," Tobias says as he bounces the ball in for a check to the guy named Drew. He was shorter than Peter, closer to Tris's height. He didn't look that athletic but maybe this Peter guy could carry the game on his own.
As soon as the game begins, Tris, Tobias, and Uriah turn up the heat and don't let up. Tobias has to focus because he loved to watch Tris in her element. He loves the intensity and cockiness Tris has, he knew he had it too, it used to annoy the crap out of him but not now. She's stolen the ball twice from Peter already and scored 6 of their 12 points. Tris passes the ball to Tobias quickly and he makes an easy jump shot. Only two more points and they would win.
Tris takes the ball out and Tobias can tell she was planning on driving to the basket when Peter sticks his foot out and trips her. Tris tumbles and cries out as she falls. Uriah, Susan, Zeke, Caleb, and Tobias immediately rush over to her.
"What the fuck man" Zeke yells out looking at the three guys as Peter backs up with a sickening grin on his face.
"I'm okay" Tris replies shakily, wincing as she bends her knee which was scraped up and bloody along with her elbow.
"Baby, are you okay?" Tobias asks, looking at her up and down wanting to see how badly she was hurt. His heart was racing as he inspected Tris's knee hoping that there was nothing seriously wrong.
Tris nods, she was shaken up, but she really was okay. Once Tobias and Caleb help her up, Tobias feels the rage build in his chest.
"That was a bitchass move, you could have fucked up my girl's scholarship" Tobias spits out.
"Fuck you and that whore" Peter replies arrogantly as he turns to walk away.
"Aye, watch your mouth" Caleb snaps, stepping toward where Tobias was standing. He wasn't as athletic as Tris and Tobias but he wasn't one to back down from a fight either.
Tobias feels something inside him snap. He turns to Peter and shoves him square in the back.
Peter recovers immediately after stumbling a bit and quickly turns and pushes Tobias back. Tobias draws back and throws a punch landing across Peter's jaw. Drew and Akil swarm Tobias, as Caleb, Uriah and Zeke jump in. Tobias doesn't let up on his punches as Peter grabs him by the shirt.
"Tobias, Zeke Stop It", Tris yells frantically. "Stop It Right Now" She didn't want this to turn ugly. This jerk wasn't worth it if the resort security showed up. This was one of the things that they had to think about now, every move would bring intense security from the school or the media.
"Caleb!" Susan calls out trying to figure out how to get the boys to calm down. She was also worried about what would happen if the boys wouldn't stop. Caleb, Uriah, and Zeke pull away first. Zeke realizes that Tobias is still going ham on Peter and steps in to try and pull him away.
Tobias is still full-on ranging even though Zeke and Uriah are trying to pull him off of Peter. Tris's voice pulls him back from the place he was in as he delivers two punches directly to Peter's face.
"Tobias Amari Eaton, Listen to me! Please, Let it go!" Tris yells louder this time.
"God, I think my nose is broken," Peter complains, holding his head back as blood pours out. Drew was clearly going to have a black eye and Akil was moving his jaw back and forth.
"Stay away from all of us or I'll finish what I started" Tobias threatens as Peter and his goons walk away. His shirt was torn at the collar and his knuckles were bloody but that was the extent of it.
He trunks back to Tris. "Come on let's get you back to the room so you can chill out for a minute"
She nods and Tobias puts his arm around her waist as they move slowly to their room. Susan stops off at the front desk and gets a first aid kit. Tris assures everyone that she's okay. Once in the room, Tobias cleans her cuts slowly and then helps her take a shower.
"Your hands" Tris gasps as she looks at knuckles as she sits on their bed with a towel wrapped around her. Even though they had just showered, the evidence of the fight was still there.
"Don't worry about my hands" He says curtly as thought back to what that asshole did to his girlfriend.
Tris is about to say something snarky but she pulls back. She was really trying not to make everything an argument between the two of them. She could see from the look on his face he was still angry about the altercation with those jerks and that had nothing to do with her.
Tobias continues to think quietly as he continues to clean up her wounds. That jerk had been him. Which was how Tris had the scar on her face. It made him sick to think that he had been just like that asshole even though he was just a kid at the time. Tris was so strong. She took so much shit from guys and girls just because she loved playing basketball and was damned good at it.
"I'm sorry, Baby," Tobias says softly as he places a bandaid on her knee and plants a soft kiss over it.
"Why? You didn't trip me, that jerk Peter did" she shrugs.
"No I mean I'm sorry for pushing you when we were 11. I did the same dumb ass thing because you were about to beat me."
"Finally he admits he was wrong" Tris crows triumphantly throwing both her hands in the air before sliding back onto the bed.
Tobias laughs as he crawls onto the bed with Tris.
"Well I guess since it took so long for me to really apologize I should do something to make it up to you"
"And what would that be?" Tris asks suggestively. They were both naked, her knee and elbow were throbbing but she wouldn't mind making love right now.
Tobias grins, "Well you know watching you play kind of gets me worked up and since you are injured, you should sit back and relax "
"Well, I should probably tell you that you defending my honor kind of got me excited too" Tris lets him know as she leans back and giggles wondering what he was up to. Even though her knee was still throbbing but it was better.
Tobias grinned as he pulled her towel away slowly. He had never done what he was about to do. He could admit he was too shellfish with the other girls had been with. Tris was different. He wanted to please her.
After a few kisses, he moves down her body. She was understanding now what he was about to do and the anticipation was killing her. Tris didn't like to share too many details with Susan because she was sleeping with her brother and it made it awkward but Tris did appreciate her since she and Caleb had been having sex for almost a year and between Susan and Lauren she had gotten some good advice. She tried to relax and let Tobias take the lead most of the time as she learned her body and figured things out.
"I've never done this before," Tobias says when he's situated between her legs.
"Really" Tris breathes out her chest heaving. She had been very intimidated about being less experienced than him when it came to sex so it was nice to know that this was something new they would experience together.
"Really" Tobias reassures her as he places a soft kiss on her inner thigh.
Tobias moves in slowly leaving kisses along her thigh. Tris sucks in a breath as his tongue moves through her folds. He could smell her arousal and it went straight to his groin. Tobias licks and sucks and Tris squirms and tries not to pull his hair too hard. Tobias smiles against her, loving that he was able to have that effect on her. Tris arches her back trying to press his face closer to her center. Tobias moans against her as Tris feels her breath increase.
"T. Baby that feels so good" Tris pants as she tries to push herself up with one hand as she massages her breast with the other. She wanted to see and watch, it was kinky but Tobias doing this was so hot.
Tris falls back onto the soft bed as she feels her orgasm build up, Tobias hears her moans get louder and he focuses on her clit, licking and sucking more aggressively. Tris thinks she sees stars when she convulses as waves of pleasure wash over her. Tobias chuckles as Tris spouts gibberish and clutches the sheets. He pulls himself up to hover over Tris smiling as she was still breathing heavy but smiling just as big as he was.
"I love you, T. that was….I have no words" Tris says with a breathy groan. Tobias leans down and kisses her. Tris moves so that she can grip him and guide him into her.
"I was supposed to just do something special for you," Tobias says in a low voice as he brushes her lips with hers.
"Perro, Te desso ahora" Tris says with a grin as she reaches up and runs her hands down his back.
Tobias returns her grin he loved when she said that while they made love ever since that day in the pool. He pushes into her and they both groan at the sensation of being connected again. For him, it was nothing like being inside of her.
"I love you Tris" He leans down and kisses the scar on her jaw gently. He moves in and out of her slowly. "Am I hurting you?" he asks.
"No Baby, you feel so good. Please don't stop," Tris assures him. The pain from her fall was the last thing on her mind right now.
They hadn't talked about their future together. Both of them were so focused on getting to the professional basketball level, but in that special moment, both of them whispered to each other they wanted this forever.
Graduation day is crazy. Caleb and Tris feel like Natalie makes them take a million pictures. They both tell her to calm down when she starts crying and pulling out their baby book before they leave for the ceremony.
"Really, Ma, you're going to make us late" Caleb whines as Natalie pulls out a picture of the day he and Tris came home from the hospital.
"Remember how we had to sit in the back at Lauren's graduation because we had to take a million pictures and look at the baby book." Tris reminds her as she puts on her heels to go with her cap and gown.
"They are right Ma, we can walk down memory lane later" Lauren adds trying to rush their mother along.
"It's not every day my babies graduate from high school" Natalie sniffles closing the book.
"I know dear, but look on the bright side, we will finally have the house to ourselves" Andrew reasons as he tickles her waist and pulls her in for a kiss.
"Ewwwwwww!" Tris says, scrunching up her nose.
"Ah man, I don't want to hear any more" Caleb replies putting his hands over his ears.
"Gross! " Lauren says, shaking her head.
Andrew and Natalie let out a round of laughter as they all head out the door for the graduation ceremony. Caleb and Tris were both surprised when they returned from the ceremony to find out that Andrew had traded in their shared care for two new Lexus SUVs. A blue one for Tris and a Black one for Caleb.
"Daddy Thank you!" Tris exclaims almost knocking him over when she hugged him.
"Yeah Dad, this is great! This isn't too much is it?" Caleb knew how his mother did not love extravagance even though they could afford it. She had shaken her head when Tobias got an upgraded Mercedes G Wagon for graduation and The Pedrad's let Zeke and Uriah pick out matching Audi's for their graduation gift.
Andrew and Natalie smiled. They had both agreed that with the twins being on different campuses even though they were in the same city it would be difficult for them to share a car.
"Since you two earned scholarships, your mother and I thought we could take some of the money we put up for your education to make sure you could ride in style." Andrew winks.
The Pedrads, Blacks, Eatons, and Priors all talked to the homeowners association for their neighborhood and work together to host a block party in celebration of all their graduates. It was much easier since all the kids wanted to celebrate together anyway.
When Tobias's grandmother Edith asks him to bring his girlfriend over to meet her, he prepares Tris that Marcus's mother can be a little over the top. She was feisty and always spoke her mind. She preferred to stay in California, usually only coming to visit during the holidays every few years.
"Well now, aren't you something! Let me get a look at you"
Tris blushes as Grandma Edith evaluates her.
"My my my is this your friend that lives next door? The little wild child with the basketball?"
"Yes, ma'am that's me" Tris admits with a laugh. She had been a wild child, her hair was always all over the place and she and Tobias played basketball every day until Natalie or Evelyn made them come into the house.
"You have turned into a beautiful young lady" Edith remarks as she places a finger under Tris's chin to study her face.
"Thank you ma'am" Tris replies shyly.
"I like this one, I remember you two arguing day and night. You two have passion, that doesn't always happen. Don't let him keep you up all night sweetheart, the Eaton men can be animals"
Tris feels her eyes go wide at what Ms. Edith was insinuating.
"Grammy! Oh my God! Please stop" Tobias exclaims putting his hand over his face and feeling his face heat up in embarrassment. He had prepared Tris but he clearly wasn't ready for all this today.
"Oh Hush, I was young once, I know you two are going at it like rabbits, just make sure you put a jimmy hat on when it rains," Edith says as she pats Tobias on the cheek before she walks away to go find her son.
"Did that just happen?" Tobias says looking up at the sky as Tris falls out laughing.
"Yeah it did, well she wasn't lying" Tris tries to get out as she holds her stomach as she continues to laugh. "Did she really say jimmy hat? That was better than any sex ed class we had"
Tobias could watch her laugh all day long. She looked so free and happy. Tobias pulls her close and she wraps her arms around his neck as she finally gets control of her laughter.
"You know my mom said the same thing about us being good for each other and she saw how we were drawn to each other"
"Well Miss Prior, it looks like we were supposed to be together," Tobias says before leaning down and giving Tris a kiss on the tip of her nose.
