The air was rancid with the stench of humans.
The stale brittle bones were all that remained of the meager band of criminals.
Instead of going around them I smiled and crunched them under my feet vigorously.
The smell of death was like sweet incense to my nostrils.
I had heard their beautiful cries of agony as that ivory child slept.
I had made her sleep deep so not to distress her by the massacre that took place here.
Soon she would be free of this scum of the earth.
That leader to the Ruffians,
I'd look into his eyes, I'd burn into him with the blood lust of my eternal gaze and I'd make his heart melt and his courage fade.
His knees would be nothing but useless rubber before me.
The Ivory Child would thank me. She would treat me kindly.
The Prophecy spoke of a child placed in the care of humans.
She had both Djinn and Shaitan blood running through her veins.
She had the power to reunite both the shaitan and Djinn people together.
Descendants of Iblis were rare. Most of his children he had either destroyed or imprisoned.
The people of Djinn and the people of Shaitan did not associate with each other often. So to have a child that was the offspring of both races was a miracle in itself.
A Ivory Godess was always inscribed in the ancient books of Prophecy.
The Ivory Godess would then shed her human ivory skin to reveal her true form. Green and blue scales and in each scale was written the name of every Djinn and Shaitan alike.
Only the rightful ruler of the Djinn can find her.
I found her without much trouble so I must be the rightful ruler.
It is a funny thought to think that these humans take slaves when in turn they shall soon become my slaves.
The Rogue Remnant of the Ghouls were quite hungry.
It was a easy meal for them and that much fresh food doesn't come to the desert often.
I enjoyed watching them devour those pathetic humans whole.
They didn't even have to lure them to their deaths. They were already dead before the ghouls got here.
The Ivory Goddess is the only creature amongst humans that I can grant wishes without consequence. I can't twist her words and trick her with my smooth words.
I cannot feed on her wishes.
I must give her exactly what she wishes without any trickery.
The only trick I could perform on her was a simple sleeping spell.
"Awaken Ivory Child".
I purred to her softly.
She blinked 3 times and then she awoke.
"Are they gone?" She rubbed her eyes and arose from her measly moth eaten rug.
"They are gone...all but one. He is hiding. He isn't far away. Don't you worry child I will find him and when I find him he shall run until his feet bleed and he will run until he reaches civilization. He'll rant and rave of what he saw and how he survived. They will deem him a madman and he will become a beggar and no one shall accept him as a businessman ever again.
Does that please you?"
"Yes it does. All except the part where his feet bleed."
"Oh yes, consider that a bonus. Madness and blood, what a beautiful combination. Don't you think so?"
"What happened to all of them?"
"They all dropped dead just like you wanted and Then the ghouls carried them away".
I smiled just at the thought of them of perishing before my eyes.
"They...they devoured them...the ghouls I mean".
"Yes of course they did. I saw the ghouls devour them myself."
I licked my lips with glee.
"How do I know you didn't kill them yourself? Prove it to me".
The ivory child challenged me.
She stood up on her feet upon the luke warm sand barely touched by the newly resurrected sun.
"See for yourself Sweet Child".
I summoned a ghoul.
His matted hair hung over his eyes and covered him from top to bottom. Two fangs protruded aggressively past his black bottom lip.
Instead of feet he had two hairy hooves.
His hands had long black nails that came to sharp points and they were perfect for tearing into human flesh. The ghoul was holding onto a male corpse.
The corpse was gushing out blood like a fountain.
The blood was everywhere, on the sand, on his claw like hands, on his fur, his fanged face and even on the rough surface of his hooves.
The sight caused quite a stir for the ivory child, her cheeks turned a unpleasant green and she gagged slightly and a thin green substance emitted from her lips.
"Is this your first sight of blood child?"
She coughed and hacked out more bile onto the sand.
"No, I've seen enough in my time. I grew up on a farm. My cousins used to slaughter animals right in front of me all time but...this is...different. I've never seen a human bleed out like that...right in front of me. He was already dead wasn't he?"
"Oh yes, quite dead. It's a pity he didn't suffer. The agony would have been beautiful".
"Then I suppose it's alright then, if he didn't suffer any."
I handed her a newly conjured handkerchief that had the the initials N.D woven in the silk material.
Nathaniel Demerest was what that stood for.
It was the human name I had chosen for myself.
She probably thought I was human the poor girl.
"Thank you". She used the handkerchief to clean the corners of her mouth.
"What are you some kind of sorcerer?"
"Sorcerer, no I'm much more powerful than that. A sorcerer has limits to his power, but my power is limitless and eternal."
"So you're so powerful that even the sands and all the creatures that live in the sands obey you?"
"Yes the very sands obey my command but the ghouls they simply cannot refuse a free meal."
"Are you Iblis?"
"Iblis has falllen... from power so to speak. Now I am in charge or at least I shall be very soon. Are you still feeling ill my sweet child?"
"You can stop calling me child. I'm actually not as young as I appear."
"It must be...your perfect skin that is so deceiving. So sorry. How may I address you?"
"Anna. Most call me Anna.".
"Well Anna are you lost?"
"No not really."
"Do you know where you are?"
"In the middle of the Arabian Desert".
"Oh it sounds like you have it all figured out. I suppose I should leave you to it. Good Day Dear Anna".
I pretended to leave.
"No wait. Look I suppose I wouldn't mind a few pointers. I could use a bit of help. You know how the desert all looks the same. You can't exactly follow any tracks with the sands always moving around."
"Well in that case I would be more than happy to escort you back. Where are you headed exactly?"
"Maybe to some abandoned ruins somewhere...I mean obviously back to civilization".
"You don't seem so sure." I raised one eyebrow to convey my intrest.
"All I want is to go somewhere where i don't run into any assholes like those men that tried to sell me on the Black Market."
"Oh so a asshole free area. I doubt if that's anywhere on any map but I'll see what I can do. Do you intend on returning to a hotel or something?"
"I don't intend to return anywhere to be honest. I don't even want to return back to regular civilization."
"Where would you rather stay Sweet Anna?"
"I wouldn't mind staying here with you for awhile."
She leaned forward, leaning closer towards my chest.
She lay her cool head on my chest.
"You did save my life from those awful men after all, so I don't mind returning the kindness. What do you require kind sir?"
"What do you think I'm a Knight or a prince that has come to to your rescue? I assure you that if you kiss me I will turn into a terrible and hideous beast". I warned her. I realize I had used the wrong choice of words. I should of said a terrible and hideous monster.
"Terrible and hideous suits me just fine". she said with a disgustingly romantic sigh
"I am a monster, not a beast. This isn't going to be like a perfect little fairytale Anna."
"Nothing is ever like a fairytale. Nothing is ever perfect. True Beauty sometimes isn't always pretty."
I have to admit I quite liked this attention.
"I don't require anything...except maybe a kiss".
I knew what I was doing. I had expected this.
For I knew if she gave me exactly 3 kisses she would legally become my bride for all eternity.
Once she became my bride we would find the gem in which I was confined, I'd find the sad little soul that freed me from my prison and then once I granted them their 3 wishes, I could set free the rest of my kind and then we could rule both the Dijnn and Shaitan and all humanity for all eternity.
Things we're going exactly the way I'd planned.
Indeed every knee would bow down to me.
I would be ruler of not only the whole earth but I would be the the ruler of the new world. No one would be able to stop me once my true power was regained. No one would be able to stand against me. I would be unconquerable and no power in all the realms would be able to defeat me. Except perhaps Iblis himself but there was no chance of that. Iblis was unavailable at this time. He was sealed away from all reality and even from time itself.
The Ivory Goddess would be the key to true eternal power. The wishes were my gateway.
I would have to first keep her away from the rest of civilization for awhile but that wouldn't be problem as I had found out. She was already in arms ready to give me her first kiss.
It was almost too perfect. Who knew getting a wife would be so easy.
