Chapter 2

Damian's POV

I don't know how long I was out, once I opened my eyes, 3 human beings are standing far from me. Is this where they live? I sit up and noticed that I was on a bed

"Now, you are awake. Would you like to share your information with us?" A man sits beside me and Fou is on top of me

"Ugh, what in the hell just happened to me?" I groaned in pain as I bore my eyes at him

"Sorry, Da Vinci was a little rough about you earlier because they don't know whether you infiltrated Chaldea or not. By the way, I'm Dr. Romani Archaman. You may call me Dr. Roman. This one is Mash Kyrielight, she's the one who called us there when Fou said something about you being in the server room. Last, but not the least is Leonardo Da Vinci, the one who knocked you out." I shake my head

"No, Leonardo Da Vinci is a man who painted Mona Lisa." I argued to Romani, Leonardo steps in.

"We're not sure about our history, so we cannot be certain about your sudden appearance here as well in Chaldea. What do you want from here?" She suddenly... wait, is it a she or a he? I took a breath before answering

"I was in Safe Haven, I was following my friend because he's about to go on a date with someone he just met. I was trying my best to stop them, but unfortunately, I tripped onto something and then I ended up here." My brows suddenly creased, "Why do I have the need to explain this to you by the way?" I asked in an upsetting tone

"Well, it's because we are running some background data on you so that we'll know where you live before we send you back in there. But unfortunately, there's no such thing as Safe Haven. Are you sure about your location?" Romani asked again

"Yes, I am sure. Cameron is a human being teaching in Safe Haven, she got there several weeks ago." Archaman nods and write it down

"Cameron, do we have someone we know as a Cameron here in Chaldea?" He asked Mash and Leonardo

"No, Dr. Roman, but I think that person Damian is talking about is just a normal human being in Earth." Mash stated

"Yes, I agree to what she implied, but we're not sure whether Cameron really is a human being after all." Leonard points out, are they trying to say I'm bluffing?!

"You see, there's one thing I should be aware of." Romani deflected their statements and stared back at me, "How come you don't have a class?"

"Class? What do you mean? Class just ended several hours ago before I even got here." His mouth gapes open

"I- Not that kind of class, what I mean is your affiliation. You really do look like a Berserker, but Da Vinci and Mash told me they couldn't sense you. Have you fused with someone else before in your life? So I'm with Da Vinci's theory."

"Well, as much as I want to be here, I cannot leave my shop. Share me the details after this, Mash."

"Y-yes, Da Vinci." She takes her leave and Romani still his eyes on me

"What do you wanna know now, Romani Archaman?"

"This guy- You're still studying and seem young, but you have the guts to be informal-" He was cut off by Mash

"Dr. Roman, I think scolding him won't do, but hitting him will do." A what now?

"Please, Mash, let's not resort to violence in the early morning. I'm sure he'd be glad to talk to, right, Damian?" Romani stares at me, "Or I'll just let Mash to let things out?" They're much more vile than my father is, is this why we existed?

"...Fine, but I want to go home after this." They nod at my request, "Okay, here goes..." I told them everything, after a while, only Romani couldn't grasp the thought of it.

"So, there is a dimension here in this very Earth that no one knows? How about the people who are working there?"

"It's a life commitment, you cannot go back from the way you want it to be, that's why we rarely have any human employees."

"Is that so? What happens if they really don't want to work there anymore?"

"I don't know, probably hypnotize them and make them forget everything about this before my people deport the human back to their own lives. I'm not certain of it, but I guess-" I was cut off when an alarm blares off the hall, they sighed.

"As much as interesting your life is in Safe Haven, I'm afraid we're having a catastrophe." Romani pointed out before he stands up

"Catastrophe? What kind of catastrophe?" I asked them

"Either a singularity occurred or a turbulence happened." I followed them through the server room

"Director Olga, good to see you. How were things now?" Romani greeted her and she turns around only to shriek at me

"Eek! Why is there a monster here?! You should terminate it before something else happened!" Olga said in a frightened tone

"Sheesh, lady, calm down, it's not like you're going to be a good snack." I bluffed and it made her angry

"Excuse me? I'm not a good snack? How dare you-" She was cut off by Romani

"Director Olga, your motives, please." She composed herself but ignored him

"Whatever, we are now experiencing another anomaly. A new singularity appeared and it seems that we will not exist after 2019 ends," She says and points it out on the globe.
