A/N: Sorry only one chapter this week. Extremely busy but wanted to get something out. Enjoy!

Chapter 142

Banging on the door woke Doris from the most blissful sleep she could remember in quite a while. Blinking her eyes open, she glanced around the room, gaining her bearings. Suddenly the weight pressed against her registered in her brain. Looking down, a smile crossed her features as she took in the redhead sprawled across her chest. As the knocking sounded again, Blake stirred against her, but didn't wake. Doris knew she'd have to wake her but decided to take just another moment to enjoy waking with someone in her arms instead of cold sheets after sending her nights conquest on their way before dawn.

The knocking had stopped, but she could hear movement from the living area of the hotel room. Just as she was about to jostle Blake awake, her bedroom door opened. "Get your ass up Wolfe. I don't care how late you were out drink…" Olivia's words died on her lips as she took stock of the sight before her. A very naked Blake spread across an equally naked Doris. "Um, I'm just gonna…wait out…here." Olivia stuttered, motioning over her shoulder. She quickly exited the room as Blake's eyes shot open.

Doris giggled slightly at the shear panic etched across Blake's features. She hoped it was from getting caught by Olivia and not regret at the night they shared. "Morning." She muttered, hoping for a good response in return.

To her elation, the redhead sleepily smiled up at her and placed a chaste kiss to her lips. "Morning."

"Olivia sure has a nice way of waking people up doesn't she?" Doris said jokingly, trying to ease the tension she could feel coming off the woman in waves.

"Yeah. You think she'll be upset?" Blake asked nervously.

"Why would she be? Olivia Spencer has no say in who I sleep with, or date, and besides, she's the one that insisted you come along this weekend. She's on our side here."

Blake nodded, seeming to relax a little. "I'm glad. Natalia is a very good friend of mine and I'd hate for anything to mess that up. Olivia and I have such a complicated past, and I'm not sure she'll ever forgive me for my part in Natalia leaving last summer."

"Believe me, Spencer has already forgiven that, if she hadn't she wouldn't have allowed you to help plan their wedding and you certainly wouldn't be here. That woman is far from the hard ass she'd have everyone think she is."

"Oh, I know that. Just like someone else I know." She said smirking up at Doris. "It's just, I know you and her are close, and I wasn't sure how she'd react to finding me in your bed."

"She'll be happy for us." Suddenly unsure of herself, Doris was quick to add, "there is an us? Right?"

Blake smiled again and pulled Doris into a searing kiss, making the fact that they were in fact an 'us' now, very known. "Oh, there had better be."

Doris leaned in for one more quick peck. "Good. We better get up before Ms. Impatience's out there comes barging back in." She purposely rose her voice a little.

"I heard that Wolfe. You two have twenty minutes. We leave for the airport in an hour and I want breakfast, coffee, and all the details from you before then. I'll meet you downstairs." With that, Olivia left the room, leaving the new couple to pack and dress for their plane ride home.

Surprisingly, it only took fifteen minutes for Doris to appear in the dining hall before Olivia, suitcase being pulled behind her. She took the seat across from Olivia, taking a sip of her coffee before picking at the muffin in front of her.

"So, where's the rest of the motley crew?" She asked. Trying desperately to put off talking about Blake for just a few minutes more.

"They are all up in the penthouse with Natalia. Bags are packed waiting in the lobby. Where's your woman?"

"She went up to talk with Natalia. I guess they haven't had a lot of time for that lately."

"I'm sure. Natalia and I have been so busy, and with Blake trying to woo the mayor and all…" She let the thought trail off, trademark smirk firmly in place.

"Yes well…How was your morning with that wife of yours yesterday? I'm sure it was, invigorating." Doris tried again to change the subject.

"Oh no you don't Wolfe. Spill. What happened with you and Blake last night."

"Oh, come on, just give me a little about your morning."

"Fine, Natalia and I had a wonderful morning together and christened every inch of the master suite. Happy. Now, spill it."

"Alright, fine." Doris grumbled. "So, you know we went out to hit a few bars last night."

"Yes. I'm more interested in how you ended up wrapped around each other naked this morning."

"I'm getting there. So, we're out drinking, we were at our second bar, the first one was a total bust. I don't think there was a single person over twenty-five in the place. Anyways, so we're drinking and dancing, just having a good time, when all of the sudden Blake just pulls me into this earth-shattering kiss. I mean, we've kissed before, several times in fact, but this, this was different. She was definitely saying, 'take me home and fuck me.' I didn't want to rush things, so we stayed another hour or so. Eventually we were both more than ready to call it quits. We caught a cab back here and then well ya know…"

"Oh, come on Doris, you can't leave out the good parts. What happened once you got back to your room?"

"There's not a lot to tell, we were making out and then we were naked in my bed."

"Doris, I'm not buying it. I can see it written all of over your face. Last night was not just some roll in the sheets." Olivia dead panned.

"Well, you're right about that. It was the best sex I've ever had in my life. I'm not sure I believe that Blake's never been with a woman before."

"Tell me about it. My first time with Natalia was like, I don't know, fireworks or something. It was hard to believe that she'd never been with a woman and even harder to believe that she'd only been with two people before me."

"It was beyond that Olivia. For the first time since college, I think I actually made love last night. It was, amazing. I don't know how else to describe it. Usually it's fast and hard, just get off and get out. Last night, well, last night was something else. It was gentle and sweet. She asked me to teach her how to be with a woman. And let me tell you, she is a very quick study. It was just, wow. That's the kind of sex I want for the rest of my life, I mean, I'm not saying I don't still want a good hard fuck every now and again, but, I could learn to live without that if I could have last night over and over again." Doris told her friend, a blissful smile on her face as her eyes glossed over and her mind returned to the soft exploration she and Blake had of one another's bodies the previous evening.

Olivia had to bite back a laugh at her friend's face. She had never seen the mayor like this before and it was as amusing as it was endearing. "Sounds to me like you might have found your Natalia my friend."

"I think I might have."

"I'm happy for you Doris."

"Thank you."

Olivia reached over and pat her hand, knowing exactly what her friend was feeling in this moment, because it was exactly how she felt every single day with Natalia. As if the world could crumble around her and it would still be okay as long as Natalia was by her side. "Alright, enough of this mushy crap. Let's go up and check on the other's. We'll need to head to the airport soon."

The two stood, but, before they started for the door, Doris pulled Olivia into a tight hug. "Thank you Olivia, for making me bring Blake this weekend and not letting me throw away this chance."

Olivia rubbed her back as she ended the hug. "You were there for me with Natalia, now it's my turn." She replied with a smile as the two made their way to the lobby to place Doris's suitcase with the others and then up to the penthouse.

As soon as they walked in, Olivia made a beeline for her wife, who was leaning over the kitchen island talking with Blake. Something about her talk with Doris just made her want to have her love in her arms. She wrapped her arms around her from behind and placed a sweet kiss to her neck with a muttered 'I love you.'

Natalia smiled at the gesture and spun in her arms, wrapping her arms around Olivia's neck, and kissing her soundly. "I love you too. What brought this on?"

"Can't I just want to hold my wife?"

Natalia couldn't help the dopey grin that spread across her face. "Anytime you want mi amor." The two shared another tender kiss before Natalia spun back around to face her friend, grin still in place and Olivia's arms still firmly around her. She placed her hands over Olivia's on her stomach and held them there, more than happy to stay secure in her wife's arms for as long as possible.

"So, you two ready to have three open and running hotels." Blake asked, her eyes glancing over to Doris who was engaged in a tickle fight with Emma on the living room floor. It melted her heart to see such a soft side of Doris. She loved watching her with Emma, with all the Spencer-Rivera's really, but something about watching her with a small child just made her heart melt. She hoped one day it would be her own daughter getting tickles and slobbery kisses from Doris.

Natalia and Olivia both noticed that Blake's attention was far from on the conversation at hand but chose to ignore it. Knowing that it would take time for her and Doris to get to where they were, be more open with public displays of affection and allowing other's into their bubble.

"More than ready. This has been my dream for so many years, and now, thanks to Natalia, it's finally happening." Olivia answered, letting her own eyes drift to her daughter and best friend.

"No Olivia, this was all you. You did this, you worked very hard to get to where you are and I am so very proud of you."

Olivia kissed her neck again, unable to resist. "Yes, but it wasn't until you became my assistant that it really became a possibility for me. I needed someone I can trust to help me and you were the only one fit for the job."

"Thank you honey, for believing in me." Natalia said, craning her neck to meet Olivia's eyes.

"I always knew you could do it." Olivia answered back, getting lost in the love shining back at her.

"On that note." Blake began, already walking away. "I'll leave you two to make heart eyes at each other in peace."

Natalia and Olivia barely registered that Blake had walked away, too lost in one another to care. The connection they felt now was even stronger than it had been before Olivia's attack. The two had always been bonded on one level or another, from the moment they met. But now, it was so much more. It had been building since before Natalia left the previous summer, and then was rebuilt when she came back, becoming more then either one of them could fathom once Rafe was on board and then Ava returning from California. Now though, it was as if they truly were one soul, one heart beating inside two chests.

When Frank attacked Olivia, something inside them had shattered and they hadn't even noticed until the morning before. At first, they just chocked it up to Olivia and Rafe's recovery, but as time went on, they had both started to notice that they weren't quite as in sync as they used to be. It was just little things mostly, not knowing one another's schedules as they were used to, even when their days consisted of nothing more than taking care of Olivia and a few emails for Natalia to respond to, they didn't always know what the other one was up to. Then there was not being able to read each other as well as they always had. Olivia not realizing how effected Natalia was by the whole ordeal and vice versa. As Olivia started to get better, it became more noticeable, bumping into each other in the kitchen instead of seamlessly dancing around one another as they always had, the two responding to the same email or returning the same phone call. Nothing of huge impact to their lives or relationship, but a definite disconnect between them. Then there was of course their sex life. Although their love making was always spectacular, there was a change in the way they read one another's bodies, in the way they responded to each other. It wasn't anything drastic, but it was different. Neither woman had truly noticed until the previous morning and afternoon.

What they shared in their penthouse master suite had opened both their eyes to how distant they had become in some ways. Suddenly they were both aware that their hearts hadn't beat in time with each other as they always had in quite some time. After their morning, and even the way they seamlessly finished each other's thoughts and sentences while interviewing for a general manager. The way Natalia could read Olivia's body language as she spoke to the owner at the sandwich shop and spoke with potential employees. How Olivia just knew what Natalia was thinking as they spoke to Deborah. The way they were so drawn to each other again that they couldn't not be in the same room for very long and when they were in the same room they couldn't not be touching. It all reaffirmed that they were completely in sync once more. They had their connection back. And, as Natalia lay her head on Olivia's chest the night before, she realized that once again, their hearts were beating in tandem.

Turning in Olivia's arms, Natalia rested her forehead against her wife's and just breathed her in for a moment. "I've missed you, this."

Olivia pulled back to meet her wife's eyes. "I'm right here. Always."

The two met for a sweet kiss. Olivia moaned as she felt her wife's tongue penetrate her lips, deepening the kiss. Lost in their moment the two quickly forgot where they were. Olivia's hands found Natalia's hips as she pulled her flush against herself. Natalia's fingers threaded through her hair holding her close as they continued to kiss in the kitchen of their penthouse while their family talked just feet away.

After a moment, Isabel decided to put her mother out of her misery and cleared her throat loudly causing the wives to pull apart, Natalia's face flush with embarrassment as she took in her mother's shocked expression and her eldest children, as well as Ashley, Blake, and Doris, all trying to hide their laughter.

"You get used to it abuela, they kiss like that all the time." Emma piped up with a smile causing the adults in the room to chuckle.

Olivia pecked her wife's cheek and walked toward her youngest, running a hand over her ponytail. "Em, go and check your room and make sure you didn't forget anything, it's about time to head to the airport."

"Okay mommy." Emma said as she ran off to do as she was told.

Natalia gingerly sat next to her mother, feeling slightly ashamed that she had lost control with Olivia in front of her. "Lo siento mama." (I'm sorry mama.)

Clara cupped her daughters cheek and kissed her forehead. "No te preocupes mija. Recuerdo lo que es ser joven y enamorado. Tú y tu Olivia tienen algo muy especial. Agárrate a mija." (Don't worry my daughter. I remember what it's like to be young and in love. You and your Olivia have something very special. Hold onto it my girl.")

Natalia had tears in her eyes when her mother finished. "Gracias mama. Ella realmente es otra cosa, ¿verdad?" (Thank you mama. She really is something else, isn't she.) Natalia confirmed, smiling over at her wife who was busy teasing their son about something or other if his red cheeks and half bowed head were anything to go by. Most likely something to do with Ashley since his eyes kept drifting towards her.

"Yes mija, she is. I can tell how very much she loves you. Don't waste what God has given you Natalia. Love like yours, it only comes around once in a lifetime."

At that moment Olivia looked up and caught Natalia staring at her in awe. She winked and blew her a kiss before turning her attention to the group as a whole. "Alright gang, it's time we head on out of here. Let's go, Vámonos." She said, clapping her hands together to hurry them along.

Everyone stood and gathered what little wasn't packed in their suitcases then filed out the door, Olivia and Natalia walking out last hand and hand, stopping to take one more look at their beautiful penthouse suit. They shared a few gentle kisses in the doorway before closing it behind them and following the rest of their group to the elevators.

Once the jet was in the air and Clara was able to breathe properly, well mostly, Natalia decided it was as good time as any to talk to her mom about staying in Rafe's apartment while Isabel was in St. Louis. Moving from her seat to the sofa, she asked her mother to join her. Clara was scared to move from her seat belted seat, but did as asked, sitting on one side of Natalia and Olivia taking up the other side with an arm laying across the back, playing with the fine hairs at the nape of Natalia's neck.

"Mama, Olivia and I have been talking, as well as the kids, and we'd like to propose something to you." Natalia started.

"Alright."

Natalia looked at Olivia, who smiled encouragingly, and then back to her mother. "Well, Rafe has decided to move out to the barn apartment with Ava, which leaves his apartment in the basement open." She paused, knowing her mother was a proud woman who would take this as a handout and not as the offer for her to not have to be alone that it was. "I, well we, would like it if you came and stayed with us at the farmhouse."

Clara took a moment to digest the information and the offer. She had to admit that it would be a dream come true to be back in the same house as her daughter, and it would be a huge bonus to be able to get to better know her grandchildren. However, she refused to live off her daughter, that was not how things were supposed to be. She had planned on finding a job when they returned to Springfield and after the sentencing trial so she could move out of the hotel. She hated feeling like she was taking from anyone, especially one of her children.

"I don't know Natalia. I appreciate the offer, but, I had intended on seeking a job this week so I could find a small apartment of my own. I don't want to impose on your family, and without a car, it would be difficult to get to and from town for a job from the farmhouse."

"We may have a solution for that as well if you're interested." Olivia interjected.

"I'm sorry, a solution to what?" Clara asked, more than confused.

"Well, mama, one of our ladies from the laundry room left us to spend some time with her sick granddaughter in Florida. For the past few weeks some of the girls have been picking up a few extra hours here and there to make up for the loss since we haven't had time to find a replacement. If you'd like, you can start the job on a trial basis, make sure you like it and that you're a good fit for the job, which Olivia and I both think you will be. It's the same for the house. We'd like you to stay with us for a few weeks while Isabel is in St. Louis preparing for the opening. We can discuss a more long-term plan after the opening. That way you can see how you feel about the job and the apartment and a ride to work wouldn't be a problem since Olivia and I will be going in every morning anyway." Natalia explained.

Clara wasn't sure what to think. Her daughter and her wife were offering her a place to live that wasn't a hotel and a job. She was worried about letting them down, but also excited at the prospect of working. If she earned it, it wasn't a handout. "Wh…are you sure mija? Olivia?"

Olivia reached over and pat her hand. "We are more than sure. Not only is this a family business, a family you are a part of, I tend to have a feeling about people and what they are capable of. I also don't mess around when it comes to my business. I think you would be great in this job. It's nothing major, just folding and stacking towels, sheets, and blankets, stocking the carts for the maids, and helping Maria with inventory. We could start you at just a few hours a week until you got used to it and decide if it was for you or not. As for the apartment, like Natalia said, we'd really like you to come and stay while Isabel is helping with the grand opening, however, if we decided to make this permanent, or even just for longer than a few weeks, you could pay the utility bill as Rafe did, and, if it would make you feel better, you could pay us a little rent. Not that we expect it, but I have a feeling Natalia gets her absolute hatred for handouts of any kind from you. I can tell you are a proud woman, and I would never want to make you feel like you can't do it on your own. From what I can tell, you had a husband to do that for many years, now that you are away from him, I hope you never feel trapped, helpless, unwanted or unneeded again."

Clara wiped a few tears from her cheeks and leaned over Natalia to hug her daughter-in-law. "Thank you. Thank you for everything."

Olivia hugged her back and kissed her cheek, "You're very welcome. So, is that a yes? Will you take the job, and the apartment, at least for now?"

Pulling back Clara nodded. "Yes. On a trial basis, if I'm not doing a good job, or if I'm just not working out, I want you to fire me as you would anyone else. Understood." Olivia only nodded and gave a mock solute. Clara smiled at her and then looked to her daughter. "You got a good one mija."

Natalia beamed at her mother and then her wife. Taking Olivia's hand, she kissed the back of it. "I sure did." As Clara made her way back to her seat. The Spencer-Rivera women shared a few chaste kisses. Each one a reminder of just how wonderful their family was. Every new member only adding more love.
