Hey guys!
I was anxiously awaiting to post this new chapter because I got really impatient xD
You gave me such positive feedback last time and it really made me hope my story is actually good or something x)
Please enjoy, read you later! 3
Amity already woke up excited.
She was jumping down the stairs still pulling her shirt down while she sauntered into the dining room where breakfast was already served.
Without looking around much, Amity grabbed a sandwich and an apple, before leaving the room again and walking back up to her apartment to put on some other pants than her pajamas.
She opted instead for some designer dark green cargo pants that she had never worn before, but she'd have to settle for those.
Of course, she knew that putting on some simpler clothes wouldn't exactly make her fit in, but she'd at least feel less out of place, even if it was just for herself.
Humming, Amity checked herself out in the mirror, before deciding to tie up her hair in a half ponytail again, her usual hairdo.
Would Luz even send her a second glance in that get-up?
Maybe she should've gone for a dress. But wearing a dress to a construction site was very impractical. The site managers of before had strongly recommended wearing pants to her mother when she had shown up in a dress, and well, it made sense. Things could go wrong at a construction site, there could be beams or unattended wires sticking out of the floor and walls and cutting her legs.
Amity shook her head at her mother insisting she wear a dress to the site.
Getting ready quickly, she stopped by the breakfast one last time, pulling out a pen to scribble a quick thank you and a heart on a napkin for the maids to find later when they'd clean up again, before grabbing another sandwich and making her way to her car.
She had unsuccessfully tried to make her mother stop having them prepare breakfast every single day, but of course, Odalia Blight wouldn't allow any slacking in her house even in her absence. Her daughter couldn't be bothered to make some breakfast for herself, how dare she even suggest such a thing.
They were Blights, they had people doing the lower tasks for them.
Rolling her eyes, Amity turned the keys, the sandwich still between her teeth.
She always made sure to grab as much as she could eat for herself so it wouldn't be for nothing, and admittedly, it was nice having breakfast prepared already, but she was disgusted by the way her mother looked down upon people.
A sudden idea struck her when she was already down the road, taking the sandwich out from between her teeth after taking a bite.
She could just ask the maids to pack up what they had to prepare and take it to the construction site. Maybe she could make a few friends that way, after all, people loved free food, right?
She would make sure to ask Ms. Clawthorne today. Taking another bite, she took a turn, down the street out of the city, before taking the sandwich in her hand again and mimicking her mother's voice.
"Remember, Amity, they are the working class. Don't give them anything, or they'll flock you like a swarm of hungry geese.", rolling her eyes, she finished her breakfast and wiped the crumbs off her lap, "Bunch of bullshit, mom."
Oh, how she loved lonely car rides. There was nobody around to remind her of proper language or posture or stuff like that.
When she arrived at the construction site, the workers were already in full swing. A quick glance to the clock old her that it was just after ten in the morning, and if she could believe Ms. Clawthorne's reassurances, they started working here at seven in the morning.
Grimacing, Amity put the car in park and got out, breathing through.
That would mean some workers had to get up really early to be here. She shuddered at that thought, then she looked around. No architects today, no site managers of the construction team, no high management board.
Finally, freedom.
Maybe she could actually start a conversation with Luz today. She seemed open to talking to her the other day, when she slammed the boards on her head since she wasn't scared by her last name. Or she had just simply not known better. Actually, Willow had kind of said something like this, hadn't she?
Amity closed the car door and made her way up to the mansion, looking around if she could spot either of the Clawthorne sisters, but it seemed they were inside. She hadn't given them a time at which she would be arriving, so she supposed she would go search for them. Or…
A grin spread on her face when she snuck inside, nodding at some workers before making her way past the entrance area and up the stairs, unseen by any manager's eyes-…
Or so she thought.
"Ah, Miss Blight!", she heard a familiar, very calm voice calling out for her and flinched, ducking her head.
Damnit, caught.
"Ms. Clawthorne, I was already searching for you!", she declared when she turned around and was met by the older woman, holding out a helmet to her. Embarrassedly, she took it, but the site manager didn't comment on her lack of wearing one. Apparently, she was content with Amity immediately pulling out her ponytail and putting it on not to start a scolding.
"Miss Blight, I have some things I would like to show you if you could come with me?", she asked and with the tone of her voice, Amity already suspected, it was not a good kind of thing she was aiming to show.
As she should be right.
Ms. Clawthorne had spotted a few construction errors, minor enough not to be too much of a hassle, but she probably wanted to make sure that the errors made by a different company were documented and noted by the customer, so Amity's parents wouldn't try and sue the Clawthorne company for any errors that they weren't responsible for.
It was basically a very long, boring lecture on construction mistakes that were either accidents or caused by minimal differences in different plans from different dates and-
Amity tried her very best not to yawn.
As luck would have it, the Clawthornes had brought their architect along to go over any errors and how to handle them if they got in the way of their construction, so Amity quickly found an out when she approached the site managed and the young woman, holding a plan and looking like there was a lot to discuss.
Taking a step back, Amity pointed to the staircase behind her as Ms. Clawthorne's attention was captured by the architect.
"I think we've moved past the stage where I can still keep up. Ms. Clawthorne, I do believe you have some things to coordinate now?", Amity smiled sweetly but apologetically, shrugging, "I'll be finding my way around."
It was subtle, but it was an unmistakable question to leave Amity to it, and she immediately nodded at that, barely being able to contain her annoyance that the architect had chimed into the conversation with the youngest Blight.
"Yes, of course. If you require assistance, have my card. You can call at any time.", she searched out a card from her suit jacket, before turning back to her architect who was already going over her plans and seemingly completely occupied by the issue she wanted to discuss.
The young woman turned on her heel and left Ms. Clawthorne to it, making her way up the stairs and shooting a short glance out of the window to spot the circular saw sitting on the trestle legs, with Luz nowhere to be seen. Good!
That meant she would hopefully be somewhere in this building! Maybe even in the same room as the other day.
Or maybe she had evaded the construction site again, but Ms. Clawthorne was here, so her hopes were up that the entire team had been brought today.
Humming, she made her way up and wandered down the hallway towards where she suspected the girl, but when she inconspicuously peeked inside, the room was empty.
Immediately, Amity pouted.
Where could she be?
Walking around and taking in the now much neater arranged wires around the walls, she listened for any voices she could make out to be nearby, before stopping in a bigger living room area that was overlooking the giant property.
Looking out of the gigantic windows that reached down to the floor, Amity sighed, then she let her gaze flick over the wonderful nature her parents would destroy to make room for the neatly arranged gardens her mother loved so much. Where nothing was out of place, and everything neatly trimmed.
Grumbling a little, she turned back and was quite surprised to spot Luz on the other side of the room, working on installing some boards on the concrete wall together with the girl she had spoken to before, Willow.
Unable to stop herself from staring, Amity watched as Luz exchanged quiet instructions with her coworker to mount the board on the wall at the correct angle.
While doing that, Luz's shirt rode up a little bit and Amity quickly looked away, but a frustrated groan let her listen up again.
"Luz and that is why you use the pockets on your pants.", she heard the annoyed voice of the other girl, so she looked back up and spotted the Latina doing some awkward poses to try and reach the water level that was just out of range.
Willow rolled her eyes and got ready to lift the board off the wall again so Luz could reach the level, but she quickly told her to hold her position.
"No, wait! I almost got it, wait!", she promised, her foot just almost reaching the level, but much to both their frustration, she couldn't kick it.
Until a pale hand grabbed it and lifted it up.
Amity almost felt her heart stopping when she straightened back up and caught Luz's gaze, trying a shy smile.
"Do you need this?", she asked and Luz nodded slowly, apparently recognizing her from a few days ago. An unsure smile was sent back to her and Amity felt her heart beating faster.
"Uh-… Y-Yeah.", she eloquently responded and Amity chuckled, handing the level to her, before watching Luz placing it on the board. Grumbling, she adjusted the board, before she and the other girl locked eyes.
"Okay, Willow, you were right, we need a third person. Put the board down, I'll get Gus.", she finally resigned at the scolding glare her coworker was sending her, and they lifted the board off the wall. But before Luz could even set it down, Amity spoke up again.
"… I could help?", she tried and once again, Luz's eyes were on her. Was she mad?
She seemed so different from the cheerful self that Amity had gotten to know.
She had surely found out her last name by now and hated her. After all, she had been scolded for not following her mother's rules, which were not to interact with Amity in any way because she was above them.
Shuddering, Amity was ready to call her suggestion off, ashamed by the possibilities of what could have changed Luz's demeanor, when the Latina set down the board and raised an eyebrow at her.
"Uh-… Sorry, Miss Blight, but I'm not sure I'm allowed to ask you for help."
Ducking her head, Amity felt a shiver running down her spine. So, Luz had been scolded a few days ago. Which explained why she was suddenly so careful and polite around her. Willow had already told her, she remembered.
For some reason, that hurt.
Amity couldn't exactly explain why, but something about Luz's behavior had amazed her, and being handled like usual somehow hurt now.
"Technically, she offered it.", Willow now jumped to her aid and dared to give Amity a small smile, a genuine one, without the uncertainty Luz's smile had held, "And, you know, whatever the customer says."
A small grin now spread on Luz's lips, so she turned back to Amity who was visibly more relaxed with the mischievous suggestion Willow had dropped, returning her grin with a small shrug.
"Gus is awfully far away, and if Miss Blight insists?", she chuckled, stepping away from the board and grabbing a pair of spare gloves from the tool box they had brought up here, offering them to her.
Smiling, Amity took them.
"I do insist. What can I help you with?", she asked, but Luz held onto the gloves.
"Lilith finds you doing this and I'm dead.", she suddenly said in a far more serious tone, but Amity shook her head, not wanting to give up her one chance at bonding with the younger workers and most importantly, with Luz.
"I'll handle her. I asked to help, after all.", she reassured the young woman who now grinned wider.
"Alright then, Miss Blight. If you could just hold that board up to the markings we made, that'd be great.", she explained and after putting on her gloves, together with Willow, Amity lifted the board back up. She lifted it to the chest-high position, finding the marking Luz had talked about, before giving a nod.
"Okay, got it.", she mumbled, before making sure not to slip from her position. Willow seemingly effortlessly held the board up, while Amity was readjusting her hand, allowing Luz to take her time with measuring if the board was level, before watching her pick up some earmuffs.
"It'll be loud, Miss Blight. If you'll allow me?", she held the earmuffs up and Amity's breath hitched, managing to nod over her faint blush when Luz reached up, came closer, and placed the earmuffs over her helmet and on her ears.
Was she this out of shape?
Since when did Amity blush when someone attractive just came close to her?
Was it that aura around Luz that she didn't know how to handle? Or was it this dumb board that seemed to get heavier and heavier the longer she held it?
The world was muffled when Luz now grabbed a drill and placed it in a pre-drilled hole in the board right next to Willow, before starting to drill into the concrete wall.
The drill was much louder than she had expected. Only now she also spotted that Willow and Luz were wearing colorful earplugs, probably to keep their hands free for working without having to push off the earmuffs whenever they wanted to communicate.
The longer it took for Luz to drill into the wall, blow the hole free of dust and screw the board against the wall on Willow's side, the more Amity noticed her arms starting to shake.
She hadn't realized she was this out of shape. One would think the workout she had done in school would have done something to give her some upper body strength, but the longer she had to hold this board up, the more often she had to readjust her hands, reposition her body and make sure not to lose the marking on the wall.
Finally, Luz came over to her and set the drill into the pre-made hole in the board, before starting to lean against it. Coming closer to Amity, she straightened the drill, then she started the machine, her shoulder beginning to vibrate mere inches from Amity's face.
Suddenly, Luz's smell was all up around her, and she could feel the warmth from her body.
She smelled good, like wood and concrete dust, with a certain musk of sweat to it. Amity swore she smelled so good.
When Luz finally screwed the board tightly against the wall, she let off and grinned at Amity who was still coughing from the concrete dust that had gotten in her face when Luz had drilled the hole.
"You good?", she asked and suddenly, the amicable and honest attitude from before was back.
Amity managed to nod, before taking off her earmuffs, trying not to cough too much.
"Y-Yeah! Just a little, uh-… Dusty.", she admitted and Luz laughed, clapping her shoulder.
For a second, Amity was worried about her shirt getting dirty but then found herself apathetic about her dumb shirt. Bonding with Luz was worth ten ruined shirts.
"You'll get used to dusty.", she chuckled but at Willow's pointed glare, she quickly caught herself, "I-I mean, if you're still up for helping. I'm sure Gus is available at the moment-"
"No!", Amity quickly exclaimed, not wanting to give up her carefully built acceptance, "I-… I've got nothing else to do! I want to help."
That earned her a quizzical look from both girls, Luz being the first to speak up.
"But like-… You're the customer. Don't you have, uh-… Some studies or, you know… Don't you wanna go home?", she asked and Amity quickly shook her head.
"I'd just be alone back at home…", she admitted and kicked some dust, "I could help around here, at least, and my studies don't start for another few months."
At that, Willow grinned.
"If you're gonna be here anyway, I'm sure helping for today won't hurt. As long as you take responsibility, Lilith will have our heads otherwise.", she laughed and Amity quickly nodded.
"Absolutely. This is voluntary, I wouldn't want you to get in trouble for that.", she assured and Luz smirked, already lifting the next board. She couldn't look away at how effortlessly she did that, making Amity blush.
"Well then, Miss Blight.", she waited until she took her end of the board and let go of it as soon as Willow and she held it securely, "Let's get to work."
That only made the smile on Amity's face bigger.
"I'm Amity.", she reintroduced herself and Luz and Willow nodded.
"Nice to meet you!", they said in unison, making all of them laugh while Amity and Willow searched for their markings on the wall where the next board would go.
When they were done with the wall, Amity wiped the sweat off her brow while neither Willow nor Luz seemed fazed. They had put up the boards in record time, barely needing more than ten minutes per board, and were now moving on to cleaning their tools, happily chattering while they were still not discovered, having found some topics to talk about during their work.
Amity laughed when Luz looked over to Willow indignantly.
"Hey, wow, I'll have you know I had good grades during my apprenticeship.", she shot at her friend who was still snickering.
"Yeah, but that doesn't make your graduation better. You were awful in middle school.", she remarked and Luz pouted, shaking her head.
"Who needs middle school anyway? It's just a bunch of nonsense. I was glad to leave school early and start an apprenticeship instead of going full term.", she mumbled, which is where Amity cut in.
"Education is important, though.", she noted, earning a nod from Willow, even if the girl had cut school short as well, to which Luz merely huffed.
"Come on. What do I need biology for? Seriously, I don't wanna be a doctor or vet. The school was hell for my ADHD and I'm glad I could leave all that behind."
Amity perked up at that, lifting her eyebrows.
"You have ADHD?"
In an instant, Willow violently shook her head at her, while Luz grinned widely.
"Yeah, that's why I hated school. Sitting still all day long was torture."
Willow buried her face in her hands and gave an exasperated sigh at that, making Amity snicker.
"Is everything alright, Willow?", she asked and Luz's coworker groaned.
"Seriously, don't get her started.", she just mumbled and Luz shrugged, quickly moving forward, apparently to spare Willow whatever was annoying her about Luz.
"So, you say education is important. Where did you go to school?", she asked and Amity grumbled. That was a low blow.
"Far away from here. I was sent to a private school.", she mumbled and Luz put on a smirk.
"Do I sense some sort of, I don't know, disliking there?", she asked and Amity groaned.
"I didn't like going to that school, but education is still important!", she reasoned, but Luz had apparently already won, in her book.
"Yeah yeah, sure, you tell that to yourself.", she cheerfully quipped and Willow couldn't help but snicker at that. Amity leaned back down over the toolbox she had been rearranging, grumbling.
"Luz, school isn't necessarily the education Amity is talking about.", she explained, even if the Latina waved her off.
"Alright, alright.", she laughed, when suddenly, a voice startled her.
"What is going on here?", a female voice very similar to Ms. Clawthorne sounded and Amity looked up, met by Edalyn Clawthorne, the site engineer and Luz's and Willow's boss.
Immediately, she got up to her feet and felt her heart beating faster, while the other two young women reacted decidedly more relaxed at that.
"Yo Eda, you got a new employee.", Luz joked while Amity looked back down to her crouching in front of the drill she was still wiping down, trying to find out if she was actually joking or just trying to cover up her nervosity.
But when she looked back to the Clawthorne again, she acted a lot more relaxed than her sister.
"Oh yeah?", the woman looked back to her, her long gray hair tied up in a ponytail, while she was wearing work clothes. She was apparently managing the actual construction around her, while her sister was doing all the planning. Mustering her up and down with yellow eyes, Ms. Clawthorne finally grinned at Amity's dirty hands, gesturing at them, "Since when does our customer work with us?"
Chasing for words, Amity stuttered, until Willow came to her aid and spoke up for her.
"She asked to help, Eda.", the young woman explained and smiled over to her, "And she did a good job."
Shrugging with a grin, Amity nodded, then Eda held out her hand.
"Miss Blight, welcome to the job. I'm Eda.", she smirked and Amity gladly took her hand, not minding at all that the older woman's hands looked like hers.
"I was a little bored and they needed help putting up the substructure, so I thought I could jump in.", she said while taking her hand back, smiling at her.
Nodding at that, Eda then turned to Luz and Willow, holding up a finger.
"Don't let Lily see this.", she mumbled, before clapping her hands, "Anyway, since you two are already done up here, we've got some deliveries downstairs and need to unload the truck."
The two workers nodded and left their tools where they were, already walking towards the hallway, when Eda waved Amity with her.
"Lily is already searching for you. But don't worry, she won't hear of this. She'd only flip her shit.", Amity giggled at that.
"I'll make sure not to say anything, then.", hiding her hands in her pockets, she reminded herself to put the pants into the laundry later. When they walked downstairs, Amity already saw all of the workers gathering outside where Ms. Clawthorne started directing them and giving instructions to where the deliveries would go and where to stash the supplies they would only need later.
Some of them were already at work, and Luz was one of them.
Amity couldn't deny that she felt her heart beating a little faster when she watched Luz heaving a bag of mortar on her shoulders, waiting a bit until she regained her balance, before hopping off the truck's back and walking towards her. She quickly stepped to the side and Luz winked at her, making her blush, but she quickly caught herself while Eda led her to her sister. Lilith shot her a look but didn't question Amity's ruffled appearance, she was too busy directing and instructing her employees. That left Amity with a great observation point to look at Luz just exiting the mansion's front door again, sauntering back to the truck.
For a moment, she allowed herself to really look at the young woman she had worked with for the past hour.
Her brown skin was kind of dusty and sweaty, but not in a bad way. Amity bit her lip, shaking her head. This was so inappropriate…
Luz wiped her brow, before jumping up on the truck's cargo area and grabbing the next bag of mortar, lifting it up and walking it to the edge, before heaving it to her shoulders with a start, testing her balance, before jumping back down to the ground again.
Amity would've probably broken her ankles twice already, but Luz just continued walking towards the mansion, and she got a nice look on her back. Humming, Amity clenched her fists, trying not to stare, but she was absolutely staring.
Luz didn't, by any means, have a broad build. She was lean and actually seemed kind of scrawny, but her back had a nice curve when she was walking with a load like this, and even if the shirt had gotten a little sweat-stained, Amity couldn't find herself being repulsed by this.
Luz jumped up to the porch and her gaze was drawn to Luz's exposed calves. She was lean and fit, but not necessarily muscular. Furrowing her eyebrows, Amity watched her until she had vanished inside the house, thanking everything that she looked like she was just observing the workers unloading the truck.
For the moment, at least. When Luz came back, she had to look away quickly, not to give away that she had been staring at her.
Oh, she was definitely in for a ride.
But before she could continue watching Luz carrying heavy loads around, which she found weirdly enticing, Ms. Clawthorne turned back to her and cleared her throat.
"Miss Blight, I noticed you have been around for a bit longer now. Did you find anything that needs my attention?"
Quickly shaking her head, Amity smiled up at the older woman, trying her best not to show her blush spreading to her ears when she heard Luz laughing.
"No, everything is just fine. I haven't found anything of concern and trust you to meet my parents' expectations.", she reassured the site manager.
"Well, I would love to go over some minor details in my plans with you, but I'm afraid I'm busy.", the older Clawthorne gestured to her sister, "But I'm sure my sister still has some things to explain to you if you like?"
"Not re-", Eda started, but Amity quickly interrupted her.
"She could be showing me around! I'd be very interested in the specifics of, uh…", she looked back to the younger Clawthorne, waving her hand, and the site engineer only belatedly noticed but jumped to help her out when she did understand.
"Oh! Uh, we'll be installing the first few sheaths for the wall panels to prepare for the decorative elements. And we will start tiling the bathrooms since the floor heating system has been installed and covered up already.", she recited, probably having briefed her employees with that a few times already, hence her monotone explanation.
Amity nodded at that and smiled at Ms. Clawthorne, smiling at her in a very sweet but unbudging way.
"Yes, that. Thank you, Ms. Clawthorne, I will be seeing you when I head out again.", she excused herself before shooting an expectant look at Eda who did her best to cover up a snicker, following her back inside the house.
Inside, the site engineer smirked and pointed back to the direction where they had come from, referring back to her sister.
"You're pretty keen on her not finding out you made your hands dirty, hm?", she smirked and Amity smiled back, shrugging.
"Well, my parents would be less than amused to find out their daughter has been mingling with the working folk.", she said, her voice slipping into a mocking tone when she mimicked her mother, making Eda look back at her with an amused expression.
"Oh damn, that bad?", she snorted, "Sounds like a hell of a lot of prejudice if I'm concerned. But don't worry, Lily isn't as much stuck up her butt as she seems. I'll talk to her and this can stay our little secret if you like. After all, I'm not against a voluntary helper."
Amity gave a relieved sigh, before turning around to see Luz just entering the mansion again, this time with a few heavily wrapped boards it looked like, probably decoration elements. She winked at her and Amity spluttered, watching the girl go by her with a smirk.
She hadn't noticed Eda picking up on this.
"Luz!", her boss called and the girl set down the decoration elements in their designated spot, before spinning around and jokingly saluting.
"Yeah, Eda?", she replied and the older woman smiled mischievously, gesturing at Amity.
"Since you're one of our more experienced workers, I want you to take Amity under your wing for as long as she likes and show her what you're doing, alright?"
Luz nodded, giving Amity a small grin, which let her melt right on the spot, before tilting her head.
"And, uh, what will I be doing?", she inquired, making Eda put a hand to her chin in thought. Looking around, she apparently searched for a task where Amity could be helping before she snapped her fingers and gestured them to follow.
"I've got a task for you two!", she called and Luz let Amity follow her first, much to her dismay. If Luz had walked up front, she could've looked at her some more…
No. Bad Amity. Keep your focus.
She followed Eda outside and immediately felt relieved at the cool wind blowing into her face, before making her way around the house and seeing Eda approaching a piece of flattened land that was obviously prepared for a terrace. Next to it, she saw a pile of unevenly broken stones and immediately recognized them as the tiles that her parents had planned to be covering a good portion of the backyard near the mansion. Luz came to a stop next to her as Eda pointed to the piece of flat land, grinning.
"We need the terrace tiled. There's a plan that I'll be bringing out for you, and it's basically just a lot of puzzling together stones. Luz, you've done this before, you know what to do.", she smirked, "Alright, you two, have fun!"
Amity gulped when Eda turned on her heel and left them alone, before Luz turned to her, grinning.
"Sounds great! I love tiling terraces, being out in the open is a lot nicer, don't you think?", she opened and Amity managed a smile that wasn't overshadowed by her blush, nodding.
"Yeah, great! So, what will we be doing, exactly?", she asked again and Luz led her to the pile of tiles, slapping on one lying on the top. It was a rough stone that was broken to be an uneven piece and gestured to a concrete mixer standing just by its side.
"We'll puzzle these tiles together so that it looks nice and after that, fill in all the gaps with concrete. The foundation was already set by the guys before us, which means we just have to fit these tiles together and finish the joints with concrete. Easy!"
Trusting Luz's enthusiasm, Amity nodded and clapped her hands together.
"Alright, where do we start?", she asked and Luz lifted a tile off the pile she was standing next to, before handing it to Amity. She tried her best not to topple over immediately, when the other woman handed her the solid stone, and not to seem like she was suffering under the weight more than necessary.
"Back in that corner! You can just walk over the prepared slab and set the tile aside there.", she instructed and Amity leaned back a little not to have too much weight on her arms, walking to the far corner and making a fool out of herself setting down the tile outside of the marked area, trying to let it slip to the ground carefully and ending up in an awkward crouch while letting it slip out of her arms and down her thighs to rest on the concrete next to their working area.
Luz followed her suit with another tile and waved at Eda on the inside, before jumping to take a plan through the window that her boss was holding out to her.
"Alright, we'll just try to fit them the best we can since we don't have a pattern to go after, and I'll have the advantage of you deciding how it should look like in the end.", she grinned while Amity's heart stopped.
"Wait, I decide? I've never done this before!", she exclaimed and Luz chuckled, placing a hand on her shoulder. She wasn't even minding Luz's equally dirty hands.
"It's easy, I promise. This is not about doing it perfectly, it's just about the aesthetic. We can purely work after how we like it.", she explained and Amity breathed through.
"Alright. But still, I've never done this before-", she tried and Luz waved it off.
"That's why you got me! And now let's get started!", she cheerfully announced and Amity would've lied if she had claimed her heart didn't jump at this.
Let me know if you liked it!
