On her journey all over Thra, she not only meets the one Gelfling that she wants to spend the rest of her life with, but also finds herself in the midst of the resistance against the Skeksis' reign of terror. And in addition, a very dark secret is revealed about her past...

As the ritual began in the Castle of the Crystal, the Scientist at least knew what was coming. But miles away, in the calm of the Valley, the Alchemist had little warning.

Deet is the first and only Grottan Guard at the Castle of the Crystal, and hasn't had much luck in making friends. When Rian, the son of Captain Ordon, is reluctantly assigned as her mentor, she's convinced that things can't get much worse. Now it's up to Rian, Brea, and Seladon to get her back and escape the planet Earth, with the help of a human childling, Penelope and her dog, Fritz.
