Zion woke up in her mansion on tuesday morning, in a bed surrounded by plushies. She held her stuffed snake close to her body as she snuggled it close to her. Her alarm clock went off, playing a cover of the Lumiose City theme, which motivated Zion to crawl out of bed and shut it off. She stretched, then changed out of her pastel gold night gown, into her prim and proper black suit and pink skirt. Zion found a mirror close to her enormous canopy bed and stared into it while applying just the right amount of blush to her cheeks and mascara for her luscious lashes. When all her makeup was done, she looked at herself in the mirror and smiled.

"Lookin' good, Zion!" Zion reassured herself that she was ready, as she gave a quick peace sign. Then she left her room and headed to the kitchen. It was gigantic, with a top of the line gas burning stove, a dishwasher that worked near instantaneously, a state of the art fridge with a computer to send more cold air to certain areas at the touch of a button, and a long table that could seat ten. At the stove, her father was making a breakfast of bacon and pancakes. It was very basic, for a rich family like the Zakenna's, but Zion liked simple. She wasn't like most of the other rich girls she knew. Just as she sat down at the table, a timer went off, signalling that the pancakes were ready. Her father dished up the pancakes and set the table for him, his daughter, and her cousin, who just walked through the door. He had orangey gold braided hair that went with his gold eyes and he wore a fancy black suit that matched Zion's, except instead of a skirt, he wore black pants and a pink tie. He sat down at the table, sitting across from Zion. The pancakes were delivered to their seats as Zion's father sat down at the table. He shared Zion's golden hair, but there were grey patches in his moustache. He was a little overweight, boasting a fairly wide frame. The family began eating their breakfast together. Zion took large bites, despite her small size, and from the looks of it, she enjoyed her breakfast.

"You make such spectacular pancakes, daddy! There's no better way to start the day!" Zion complimented her father's culinary concoction.

"I'm with Zion here. Best pancakes in the world." Zion's cousin piped up.

"It seems the pancake batter I used is a huge it around here. Loving the positive reception, kids." Zion's father appreciated the feedback. Soon, the kids finished their breakfast, and Zion left her seat to pack lunches for herself and her cousin. Their lunches consisted of a slice of vanilla strawberry cake, a BLT sandwich, and traditional japanese rice. Zion took her own lunch bag, and gave the other one to her cousin. Then they packed it into their backpacks.

"Have a great day at school, kids. Remember, positive in, positive out. Right?" Zion's dad waved goodbye to the kids.

"I never forget that message, daddy!" Zion waved goodbye as her cousin opened the door for her. The two of them walked to their private limousine and hopped in the back seat. Their driver waited for them.

"Good morning, young master Zion. Same to you, Mr. Trae Granderson." The driver greeted them. "I'm assuming you're going to school."

"Yes, sir. Set a course for Curley Zenon Private School." Trae told the driver where to go.

"No rush, driver! We've got some time before the first bell rings!" Zion tried to help the driver relax as he put his foot on the gas. The limousine lurched forward as it drove down the freshly paved road, lined with diamonds and emeralds. As the limousine kept rolling across the road, Zion and Trae hooked up their Nintendo Switch to the tv in the back seat and played MarioKart together. It was a favourite pastime of theirs, and they were both talented racers. Their only real competition was each other. They ended up getting through the entire Star Cup before the limousine stopped at the doors of Curley Zenon Private School, a fancy school with an exterior made of a shiny and hard black material. Students filed through the doors, wearing uniforms that matched those of Zion and Trae. The two of them exited the back of the limousine and walked to the doors of the school together. The atrium was decked out in black, and the roof was made of of a shiny silver material that glowed like glitter in the sun. There were four hallways, one for each grade level. Zion and Trae both proceeded down the top right hallway, which had a pink floor that matched Zion's skirt. Zion made her way through the small crowds of kids, who are all her age. She immediately spotted a girl with teal hair with a ponytail that faded to gold. The girl recognized her too.

"Hey, Zion! Happy Tuesday!" The girl greeted Zion with a hug. Zion happily returned her hug.

"Hiya, Pamela! How's your brother doing?" Zion asked.

"Loki's doing great! He's learning how to read, and he's reading full picture books by now!" Pamela talked about her little brother.

"Wow, and he's only two! I can't wait to see what he's reading when he grows up!" Zion cheered. Pamela smiled a warm smile.

"Mother's been pouring lots of money into helping his mental development after we found out he has Asperger's. He's doing so well and we're all so proud of him!" Pamela expressed excitement for her brother, just as her soul gem briefly glowed.

"Oh! Another magical girl is here!" Pamela took notice of the flashing. Zion giggled.

"It's probably just reacting to my soul gem again!" Zion put her hand over her mouth as she laughed.

"Yeah, probably." Pamela laughed along with her. Then, the first bell rang and the girls went to their first class together, leaving their hallway and going directly to the school kitchen. The lead chef gave out a recipe for their school's famous variation of Shabu-Shabu, and the students got to work. Zion and Pamela were paired up together at the same stove. Pamela held the recipe and Zion got out the ingredients.

"Okay, first we pour the celery stock into the pot. We need about a third of the pot to be full." Pamela read out the first step.

"On my way!" Zion saluted her friend, then ran to the fridge and got out a large bottle of celery stock. The bottle was almost as big as Zion herself, and she was having difficulty carrying it. A group of other girls laughed at Zion's attempt at carrying th bottle. Zion looked towards the ringleader, a tall girl with long, curly grey hair and dirty brown eyes.

"Oh dear, does baby Zion need help with her bottle?" The girl taunted her and her group broke into laughter. Zion tried her best not to engage with the girl.

"Let's get her a high chair, Claire! She's too small to be walking on her own yet." Another girl chimed in. Claire laughed along with her posse as Zion brought the bottle to Pamela, who picked it up and poured it into the pot until it was about a third full. Then she gave the bottle back to Zion, who wobbled back to the fridge while awkwardly holding the bottle. Claire and her posse kept mocking and laughing at Zion as she did. Then, one of them spoke up.

"Hey, Zion! How's your mommy doing?" The girl purposely struck a nerve.

"Mommy's been gone for years! She went on a business trip and hasn't come back since I was five!" Zion shouted. The girls laughed even harder.

"Got mommy issues?" One of the girls added in.

"I'll be your mommy, little girl~" Claire teased Zion and held out a golden bib. Zion desperately wanted to ignore Claire and her relentless insults, but that was a step too far. Zion shot Claire an uncharacteristically nasty glare in an attempt to get her to shut up, but Claire smugly put her hands on her hips.

"Oh, is baby Zion throwing a little hissy fit?" One of Claire's girls taunted Zion in a singsong tone. Zion advanced towards Claire.

"Wait, don't engage her! It'll only make her want to do it more!" Pamela tried to warn Zion.

"I'm not a damn baby, Claire!" Zion shouted.

"You definitely act like one, kid." Claire retorted. Zion was slowly losing her cool when another girl approached them. She had brownish red hair styled like a cream puff that faded to white at the bottom. She also had deep crimson eyes and a fearsome glare.

"Leave Zion alone, missy." The girl spoke in a french accent. Claire laughed her off.

"Leave her alone, the frenchie sings~" Claire actively mocked the girl's accent.

"Girl, what's Zion doing to you? Nothin'. So leave her outta your mouth!" The french girl tried reasoning with Claire.

"Keep pretending you actually care about that little pipsqueak, Milady Mephi. Imagine the look on her face when you backstab her, you traitorous snake!" Claire suddenly snapped back. "You love seeing people fall to their knees when you take everything from them, so do that to the runt over there!" Claire outright challenged Milady to break Zion's heart. Milady shook her head.

"I may be a snake, but I have my loyalties." Milady crossed her arms as she began speaking to Claire. "Zion is one of two people I'll never ever betray, no matter what." Milady asserted herself. While all that was going on, Pamela was making the shabu shabu dish alone, hoping that Milady had the situation handled. Zion's smile returned to her as Milady stepped up to defend her. Claire scowled.

"Fine, be that way. I'll expose you to the entire damn school if you get in my way again! Think about how Zion will see you before you defy me again!" Claire screamed before turning tail and walking away. Milady sighed.

"Jeesus, all that because Claire likes pickin' on people." Milady cursed under her breath. Then she turned to Zion and gave her a hug. Zion returned her hug.

"Thanks a lot for sticking up for me, Mimi-Chan. I owe you for that!" Zion practically smothered Milady in affection, nuzzling her cheek and hugging her tight. Milady sighed.

"What Claire said about me is true." Milady began. "I've lied to people. A lot. I've taken advantage of them. Despite that, you stay with me. Why, Zion? Why do you love me specifically?"

"Mimi-Chan, it's because I care about you! Deep down I know there's some goodness in your heart and you've shown that around me!" Zion tried to cheer up her french girlfriend. "No matter what happens, I'll always be by your side and sure, you do crappy things sometimes, but I'll never let those overshadow how awesome you are! I'll never forget that first witch we fought together! In fact, I still owe you for saving my life that day!" Zion displayed a great amount of trust in Milady.

"She's right, you know. You aren't all bad! In fact, you've shown to be pretty damn good, at least to Zion!" Pamela chimed in as she sprinkled in the secret ingredient before letting the shabu shabu cook. Milady smiled slightly, knowing that she had Zion and Pamela by her side.

"Thanks a lot, guys. I promise I'll stay loyal to you two. Y'all are too sweet." Milady lightly stroked Zion's silky smooth hair as she hugged her some more.

"You're super sweet too!" Zion returned her Milady's complaint, and then proceeded to boop her nose, causing her to giggle and blush.

"Stay innocent, Zion. For your own sake." Milady smiled as she released Zion from the hug and waved goodbye as she headed back to her stove. Zion's cheek were very red as she smiled sweetly.

"Ohhh, Mimi-Chan is so sweet and cool and awesome! I love her soooo much!" Zion's voice grew slightly higher pitched and her eyes resembled pink hearts. Pamela giggled.

"You're even cuter when you're blushing, Zion!" Pamela smiled asthe shabu shabu finished cooking. It looked incredibly appetizing. The girls lifted the pot by the handles together and moved it up to the main counter, where ot would stay heated and be served for lunch later. Zion and Pamela looked on, with one hand on their hips and the other wrapped around each other's shoulders. They were incredibly proud of their creation, as they often were in their cooking classes. To them, it was just another beautiful dish in their long list of culinary delights. Zion was definitely a happy girl, with people like Milady, Pamela, Lauren, and Trae in her life. She just couldn't wait for the next day.
