Chapter 2:

When it rains

It's been two days since Akko started classes at Luna Nova and it hasn't been easy for her. For what ever reason she's been having problems with her magic. She couldn't understand why though, and neither could Kero or Yue. Though they had some ideas on why. And the worst part, it's been affecting her classes. Every time she used the wand they gave her, she either couldn't do the magic or she would over do it.

And worst yet was her fellow students. Every time something went wrong, they'd laughed at her. Here she was trying her best and what does she get in return, people laughing at her. Though she was glad she found such great friends in Lotte and Sucy. They were always there at her side, helping her and supporting her. She was lucky to have such great friends. It was almost like having Tomoyo around. She even thought about telling them about the Clow cards.

Her thought then changed to what Kero and Yue told her the first night they got here. Apparently, the Shiny rod real name is the Claiomh Solais. And it's like a super wand, that not only works off magic and also the user's emotions increasing it powers. It also chooses its users meaning it approved of her. That also meant Shiny Chariot did something to make her loss it. But what shocked Akko the most was Kero and Yue told her that the Claoimh Solais can bring about a new age for magic.

Learning that really made her head spin. She wanted to ask how they knew this, but her head was hurting too much to ask.

To be honest all theses secrets she had to keep are starting to get to her. Afterall Akko is the type of person who wears her heart on her sleeve. It was easy for her to keep the Clow cards a secret at home, because no one asked about them. But here where magic is everyday, someone was going to ask about the book sooner or later.

Akko sighed as she looked out the window and saw it was still raining. A perfect reflection on how she was feeling. Though for some reason its been raining since the school term started and for some weird reason Akko felt like she was sensing something from the rain.

"Is everything ok?" Asked someone from behind Akko bringing her out of her thoughts.

Turning around Akko saw one of the teachers before her wearing the school's teacher uniform. She had long platinum blond hair that went to her mid back with light blue eyes.

"Yeah, just lost in thought." Answered Akko as she then thought of something. "Sorry but what class to you teach here? I'm stilling learning who teaches what here."

Hearing that the teacher giggled. "That alright. I'm Rebecca Hiiragizawa and I'm not a teacher, I'm the school's new nurse."

Hearing that Akko nodded as Rebecca continued. "So, what's got you so lost in your thoughts Akko?" She asked shocking Akko.

"How do you know my nickname?" Asked a confused Akko.

"Well you did make quite the entrance." Rebecca told her as Akko blushed and rubbed the side of her head.

Rebecca then joined Akko at the window. "But please tell me what's wrong." Rebecca asked her as she looked Akko in the eyes.

"It's been hard." Answered Akko. "I've been doing my best, but it just doesn't seem to be enough."

Hearing that Rebecca placed a comforting hand on Akko's shoulder. "No one said school would be easy." She told Akko, but as she looked at her Rebecca realized something.

"Or is it because you're a first-generation witch and you're learning some of these things for the first time, while the rest of your classmates already know them?" She asked Akko.

Akko could only look away. While Kero and Yue have helped her with her magic and general knowledge. She couldn't help but feel like her magic and everyone else's magic were in different worlds.

Rebecca could only look at Akko as she felt bad for her. While it is true that professor Ursula has volunteered to help tutor her, it's would take quite some time for her to reach the other student's levels.

But before she could say anything else, they heard the bell.

"Thank you for your time nurse Rebecca." Thanked Akko as she gave her a bow as she went to her next class.

"Akko." Spoke up Rebecca as Akko turned to face her. "Just remember, when things aren't working out right, take a second and breath."

Hearing that Akko nodded and continued on her way.

Rebecca watched as Akko left as she felt for her. "Your such an amazing young woman Akko. Everyone will know that and maybe sooner then you think." She said to herself as smiled and went about her business.

Akko entered her history of magic class as she sat down with Lotte and Sucy. As they other students entered the classroom, many were talking about their teacher as this was their first class of the year. The reason being was he was the first male human teacher here at Luna Nova.

Soon the teacher entered. He had short dark blue hair and snow-white skin. He had large gray eyes and wore rectangular glass. And while the other teachers wore witch robes, he wore a dark blue suit with a tie.

Seeing him the girls looked at him and talked as he arrived at his desk.

"All right girls settle down." Said the teacher as they complied with him.

"Thank you. Now my name is Eriol Hiiragizawa." Said Eriol as Akko was surprised that was the same last name as Rebecca. "Now then I know I'm the only male human here. But that doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. And just because I'm male doesn't mean I can't do anything. Afterall look at Clow Reed."

Hearing that many of the students agreed as Clow Reed was as famous as the nine old witches.

"Now then a quick question for you all what was Clow Reed famous for?" He asked everyone as many hands went up including's Akko's.

Eriol looked at them all before picking one. "Miss Diana Cavendish."

Akko looked over as a girl with long platinum hair that had side-swept bangs and green-tea highlights. Her skin was pale and she had light blue eyes.

Akko noticed two things. The first was she was sitting with two of the girls that made fun of her at the leyline, as they all had blue sashes. The second was she looked a lot like Rebecca.

"Clow Reed is most famous for making the Clow cards and the guardians who protect them." Answered Diana.

"Very good and how many of them are there and the guardian's names?" Asked Eriol.

"There are 50 cards and they are protected by Cerberus of the moon and Yue of the sun." Answered Diana as the girls around her praised her.

Akko's hand then shot up. "Yes, miss Kagari?" Asked Eriol.

"She's wrong Mr. Hiiragizawa." Said Akko as many girls gasped and whispered to themselves.

"That is right." Said Eriol shocking everyone even Diana. "Do you now the right answer then?"

"Yes." Said Akko with a smile. "There are 52 Clow cards and it's Cerberus of the sun and Yue of the moon."

"That is right." Said Eriol shocking everyone even more as Diana never got stuff like that wrong before.

Soon class was underway, but Diana couldn't help but look at Akko a fair bit during class as she wondered how she got the answer right, while she didn't.

Later that day Akko and her friends were in the cafeteria having lunch. Though there wasn't much of a selection of food since most of the options were potato based.

As they ate their lunch Akko saw Diana and her team head over to them.

"Hello…." Trailed off Diana as she only knew Akko's last name.

Akko caught on as she introduced herself. "I'm Atsuko Kagari, but you can call me Akko."

Diana nodded. "Very well Akko. How did you know the right answers about Cloud Reed?" She asked as it was bother her.

"It's because he's one of my magical heroes." Answered Akko as she got the 'continue' look from Diana. "Also, my dad is a university professor, and he studies strong magical beings on the side."

"I see." Was all Diana said as that satisfied her curiosity.

"Well you can tell your dad that Diana here will be the next owner of the Clow cards." Said the black hair girl.

"Barbara!" Said Diana in a scolding tone to the know identified girl.

"What? It's true." Said Barbara as she turned to her teammate. "Isn't that right Hannah?"

"Yeah!" Agreed Hannah. "Afterall you're a descendant of Cloud Reed."

Hearing this Akko wanted to ask several questions like 'why would she get the cards?' or 'where were you when the seal was broken?'. But she settled for this question.

"What if somebody already has the cards?" Akko asked Diana surprising everyone in ear shot.

"I'm sorry what do you mean by that?" Asked Diane not quite understanding what she meant.

"What if someone is already master of the Clow cards right now?" Said Akko as she reworded her question.

Diana stood there as she thought about it. She then realized she didn't have an answer for her.

"Of course, Diana will get the cards." Said Hannah as she was annoyed by the question. "She's the best witch in the school. Even the teachers go to her for help."

"But what if she doesn't get them? What if someone from a non-witch family gets them?" Asked Akko hoping she doesn't point to herself too much.

Hearing that both Barbara and Hannah were getting annoyed.

"Listen here, Diana will get the cards end of story." Said Barbara with a frown of her face. After all who was this… nobody asking if Diana wouldn't get the cards. Of course, she'll get them.

"Both of you that's enough." Said Diana with authority in her voice. She then turned to Akko. "To answer your question, I don't know what I'll do if someone else got the cards, but it's highly unlikely to happen."

And with that the blue team turned and left. As Akko watched them go, she couldn't help but wonder what they would do if the truth came out.

At the same time Rebecca watched the whole scene with a frown on her face. She looked at Akko and Diana as she then went off somewhere.

Later that evening after classes were done Akko was walking to the cafeteria after checking in on Kero and Yue. The two were fine as they were going over her history textbooks, trying to find out everything they could, so they were up to date.

As Akko walked near the doors leading to the courtyard she stopped, as she then felt something. She turned to the doors as she heard the rain falling harder, trying to figure out what she was sensing. Then to Akko's shock the doors burst opened as a water whip came for her.

Akko had no time to react as the whip grabbed her and dragged her outside, causing her to scream in shock.

Her scream was so loud that the other girls in the cafeteria could hear her. Curious to what happened many of them looked at the window and saw Akko being held by the water whip.

"Akko!?" Cried out Lotte in shock and worry.

"What's causing that to happen?" A random girl asked as they watched as Akko got free.

"Somebody get a teacher!" Another one yelled.

Meanwhile Diana watched as she was ready to go save her but stopped when Akko brought out her necklace for some reason.

Back with Akko she finally got free of the water whip as it then turned into a water tornado as two more joined it. Seeing the trouble she was in, Akko brought out the key of sealing.

"Oh, key that conceals the power of darkness, reveal your true nature to me, by my power, I command you, release!" Chanted Akko as she expected her staff to appear before her, but nothing happened.

"What?!" Gasped Akko in worry as this had never happened to her before.

Then to her dismay one of the tornados went for her. Akko saw this and started to run, but she knew she wouldn't make it in time.

"Akko!" Yelled a deep voice as a torment of flames hit the tornado.

Looking at the source Akko saw a mane-less lion with large angelic wings on its back floating in the air. It also had a breastplate and a helmet both made of metal with a large red stone on each. And on his right ear her wore a jewelled earing. This was Kero in his real form.

"Kero!" Yelled out Akko in joy as Yue still in his disguise form flew down to her.

"Akko what's going on?" Asked Yue as Akko explained.

"I don't know! I was heading for some dinner when I sensed something. The next thing I know I'm bring attack by water." She explained as Yue nodded.

"Then why haven't you used the key yet?" He asked her as he knew he told her not to, but in a situation like this she needed it.

"I tried. I could bring out my staff." Akko told him shocking him.

"Hey, I could use a hand over here!" Yelled Kero as he dodged another attack from a water whip.

Yue saw this as his wings then glowed and grew becoming more angelic as they encased him. When they opened Yue was now a young man with long silver hair that flowed down his back in a loose ponytail. His bangs were short showing his silver eyes. He wore white silken robes with dark blue amour over them. He had a jewelled earing on his left ear and a side cape that hangs on his right shoulder.

Back with the other girls Diana looked on in shock. 'Why are both guardians of the Clow cards protecting her?' Thought Diana in shock as she watched the two protect Akko.

But her thoughts were interrupted when both professor Finnelan and Ursula entered the room.

Professor Ursula was a young woman with long blue hair that went to her back that she tied into a ponytail that sits on her right shoulder. She has red eyes and wore glasses. She wore the teachers uniform for the school and had one feather in her hat.

"What is going on here?" Asked Finnelan as she didn't get the whole story from the student who got them.

Lotte then rushed over to them. "You've got to save Akko!" She told them confusing the two teachers.

"Save her form what?" Asked Ursula confused.

Lotte opened her mouth to answer, but she didn't know how to tell them without sounding crazy. "Just look." She told them as that was her only answer at the moment.

The two professors did that and were shocked to see Akko dodging water whips, while Yue and Kero attack the water tornados.

"What is this?" Asked Ursula mostly to herself.

"I don't know." Answered Finnelan as this was something she had never seen before. "How did this happen?" She asked the students.

"We don't know." Answered Diana. "We were all eating dinner, when we heard Akko scream and saw this outside."

"What did that girl do?" Finnelan asked herself in annoyance, as she already putting the blame on Akko.

"It wasn't her." Said Ursula causing her superior to look at her. "Look at how the water is moving. This is a high-level spell, something someone at her level could never do, even by accident."

Finnelan heard that as she nodded as she didn't even bother to ask why the guardians of the Clow cards were there. Though she did guess Diana had something to do with them though. With that in mind the two teachers went out to help their student.

Back with Akko she was panicking on the inside as she dodged another whip. For whatever reason she couldn't call her staff. And if she couldn't call for it, she couldn't use the cards properly. And if she couldn't use the cards then she was useless in this situation.

She then watched in horror as one of the water tornados caught Kero swallowing him. Akko could only watch as she saw Kero being held in place in the tornado. Then to her horror again she watched as another tornado grabbed Yue and kept him inside on it.

Seeing this Akko felt like hyperventilating as her friends were trapped and she couldn't call on her staff.

It was then she remembered Rebecca's words 'when things aren't working out right, take a second and breath'. With that in mind Akko took a deep breath and calmed herself. It was then she felt… connected to her magic somehow, as words came into her mind.

"Oh, key that hides the power of the stars, reveal your true power before me. I, Akko command you under our contract. Release!" Chanted Akko as her magic circle appeared under here. The key then started to spin in place as it grew in size until it became a staff with a pink rod with the top on the key staying the same.

Akko then grabbed the staff and gave it a twirl as she looked up at the water tornados. She then pulled out the FIREY card.

"FIREY destroy those water tornados." Commanded Akko as she tossed the card up and brought the staff to the card, as she expected the card to activate. But nothing happened as the card fell to the ground.

Akko looked at FIREY as she picked up the card as she didn't understand what went wrong. 'Unless since the staff is new, I need a new card for it.' Thought Akko as she was going to focus again.

It was then that another whip came for her. Seeing this Akko didn't have time to move as it was coming to fast. Then out of no where a magical blast hit the whip. Akko then turned to the direction of the shot and saw both professors Finnelan and Ursula.

"Akko get out of there!" Yelled Professor Ursula as the two were ready to deal with this problem.

"I can't." Akko yelled back. "I got to save Kero and Yue!"

Hearing that confused the professors as they both thought the guardians were with Diana. So why would Akko worry about them, unless.

Akko clamed herself again as she tried to reconnect with her magic like before. As she connected with it, she felt the words come to her again.

"Card created by Clow, abandon your old form and reincarnate, under the name of Akko, your new master!" Said Akko as the Clow card then transformed in her hand. The card was orange with the picture and name of the card in the front, while the back was the same color with four stars in each corner with the symbol of Cloud red in the centre. The card now had the same front but was in pink and the symbol on the back changed from Cloud Reeds sun and moon to Akko's symbol of the sun, moon and a star in the centre.

Seeing that the card had transformed Akko wasted no time as she tossed the card up and brought her staff to it as the wings on the side grew outwards. "FIREY destroy those water tornadoes." Ordered Akko as to everyone's shock but Akko's fire came from the card and took form above her.

Flying above Akko was what looks like a male adolescent angel with a bit of a phoenix mixed in with flaming hair. He has a red bejewelled circlet on his head and had elf-like ears. But what stand out most for FIREY is its bright orange wings.

As the students watched as FIREY flew towards the water tornadoes, everyone knew what had just happened.

Atsuko Kagari, the witch with no talent or magical family, has the Clow cards.

Hannah and Barbara looked over at Diana in worry as they just saw her standing there, eyes fixated on FIREY as it just freed Kero and Yue.

"Diana?" Asked Barbara in worry but didn't say anything else as everyone gasped as FIREY was before them looking at Diana with wide eyes.

No one said anything as they weren't sure what was going to happen.

Then Hannah spoke up. "This card must be leaving Akko for you Diana." She told her friend.

Hearing this FIREY looked at Hannah causing her to take a step back in fear. FIREY then snapped his fingers as a small flame appeared on Hannah's shoes.

Seeing this and feeling it Hannah cried out as she put the flame out as FIREY then transformed back into its card form and flew back to Akko.

Back with Akko she was huffing and puffing as she used her staff to keep herself up. Calling on FIREY took more out of he then she thought it would have. She watched as Kero and Yue flew over to her.

"Akko are you ok?" Asked Kero as he gave her a worried look.

"I was going to ask you that." Akko told him with a smile, but her guardians gave her a worried look, so she answered him. "I'm fine, just tired."

FIREY then returned to Akko as she grabbed the card. Then out of no where she fainted. She would have hit the ground if Yue didn't grab her and held her in his arms.

"What's going on here?!" Demanded Finnelan as she and Ursula came over to them.

Kero and Yue looked at them in shock as their eyes drifted to the nearby windows as they saw the students looking at them.

"This is too soon Yue." Said Kero as they wanted to wait longer so Akko could make allies in the magic community before revealing herself as the heir to the Clow cards.

"I know." Was all Yue could say as he had no idea what to do next.

But what no one knew standing on top of one of the building was Rebecca, but her outfit was different. Instead of the standard Luna Nova staff outfit, she wore a long and fluffy blueish white coat dress with the ends of the dress being tan coloured. On her head she wore a white witch hat styled like a bonnet.

"I must say Akko, I did not expect you to pass that test so fast. I guess I gave you good advice after all. It should help you when you go for the words." Rebecca said to herself out loud.

"I am curious though dear, why did you do this in the courtyard? I thought we'd agreed to do it at the track field away from the students and staff?" Said Eriol as he stepped into sight wearing blue robes with a large black hat, both of them sporting unique yellow decorations. And in his hand, he was holding a staff. The staff was gold in colour with the top having the moon and sun merged together as the sun's rays went out in different directions and lengths.

"I know." Said Rebecca as she looked down as Finnelan was yelling at Yue and Kero. "But the magical world needs a wake-up call. And I feel Akko can bring that call."

Eriol nodded as he heard this. "I see, but are you saying this for the her and the cards sake or for the grand Triskellion?" He asked his wife.

"Both." She told him as Eriol kept his eyes on her.

"You'll never change." He told her as he then kissed her on her cheek. "And I hope you'll never will."

He then looked down as Yue, who still had Akko in his arms, gave Finnelan a talk down as Kero and Ursula stood to the side having a pleasant talk.

"We have a lot of re-planning to dear." Said Eriol as this one stunt had derail nearly all their plans for Akko. "And we need to tell Spinel and Ruby what has happened, as well."

"Then let's get started." Said Rebecca as the two left the area. As what they had planned for Akko was still a mystery.

Well here's chapter two. I bet none of you though I was going to reveal Akko status as the new master of the Clow cards to the school like that. And who know how this will change things.

Know I just ant to let everyone know since they had never revealed Akko's parent in the show, I'll be giving them the same jobs as Sakura's parents from Cardcpators.

As for Eriol for those who are Cardcaptor fans please don't spoil it for the Little Witch fans. As for Rebecca she is my own OC for this story and for those who read the prologue you might be able to guess who she really is.
