Chapter 6:
Don't stop me now

It was a peaceful evening for Akko as she had just got a package from Tomoyo. The package contained a bed for Kero and Yue with blankets and everything. Currently Akko was in her team's room setting them up. Her room wasn't anything special, there was a bunkbed in one side and a single bed on the other. And against the wall opposite of the door was three desks for the girls to do their work. Akko sat at her desk as she had already set up Yue's bed and was working on Kero's.
"How's this?" Asked Akko as she had just finished putting the bed together and making it.
Kero floated onto it as he made himself comfy. "It's perfect. Much better than the old one." He told Akko as she frowned at him. Afterall she made that bed for him.
But before she could say anything there was a knock on the door. Curious all three of them looked over and saw Professor Ursula standing there with a broom in her hand.
"Professor Ursula." Said Akko surprised she that she was here. Then there was an awkward silence as Akko and her guardians were wondering why she was here.
"Is there something we can help you with?" Asked Akko breaking the silence.
"Yes, I'm just informing you that I'm one of your guidance counselors." Ursula told her.
"But I have Kero and Yue helping me." Said Akko as she felt she was covered.
"That may be true." Said Yue as he floated over to Akko. "But our knowledge is old. If you take the time to learn from her, who knows what you'll learn."
Hearing that Akko understood as she bowed to Ursula. "Sorry about how I just acted." She Said to Ursula.
"That's alright." Said Ursula as she didn't expect that. She then remembered the broom in her hand.
"I'm also giving you your broom." She told Akko as Akko rushed over and claimed her broom.
Seeing this reaction confused Ursula as she wondered something. "Why act this way when you can already fly with the FLY card?"
Akko stopped and looked at her. "It's hard to explain." Started Akko as she looked at the broom in her hands.
"But riding a broom is something I've always wanted. And while it's true that I can fly with the FLY card it not the same. With FLY I ride my staff and I use its power. I guess what I'm trying to say is I want to fly on my own power."
Hearing that Ursula understood more then Akko could realize. That's when she looked over and saw the Shiny Rod laying on Akko's bed.
"That wand!" Ursula suddenly said making everyone in the room look at her.
"What about it?" Asked Akko as they only ones who knew what it truly was, was her, her guardians and her teammates.
"It just reminds me of something from a long time ago." Said Ursula as Akko and Kero bought it, but Yue gave her an odd look. Ursula then took her leave as Yue still had his eyes on her retreating form as he felt she was hiding something.
The next day Akko had her first broom flying class. Everyone was outside on the school's track as everyone faced their teacher. Their teacher was a woman of average height with brown eyes and light brown hair that was tied in a braid. She wore the standard teacher uniform along with a pair of pilot goggles and an aviator cap under her hat along with a green scarf and a pair of gloves. But what stood out for Kero and Yue was she wore a parachute. This was Professor Nelson.
"Broom flying class is now in session." Said Nelson as she stood in front of the students. Off to the side were Kero and Yue as they watched.
"New students will have a special class. Others will practice how to gain speed. All right. Begin!" Instructed Nelson as everyone but Akko's team got on their brooms.
"Tia Freyre!" They all said as they took off into the sky.
On the ground Akko looked up in awe as she couldn't wait to join them up there.
"New students, come over here!" Ordered Nelson as they did just that. But Lotte's broom was still in the shop, so she stood to the side.
"Broom flying is the most basic magic for a witch but be carful or you will get hurt." Warned Nelson as she had seen dozens of new students hurt themselves before.
"Yes!" Said Akko as she took this seriously.
"Frist hold the broom." Instructed Nelson as she held the broom with the broom's bottom facing the ground, as Akko and Suzy followed her lead.
"Pay respect to the broom, then get on." Nelson told them as Kero gave her a funny look. Soon all three were on their brooms.
"Imagine yourself flying in the air, cast the spell, and take off." Finished Nelson as she took off.
"Tia Freyre!" Said both girls as Suzy floated up and joined the others. But for Akko there was a dust cloud where she was.
"Akko!" Screamed Lotte as she saw Akko shot straight up as everyone looked over where she was confused.
With Akko she kept flying upwards as she held onto her broom for dear life. When it finally felt like she wasn't going any father up she cranked opened her eyes and gasped. She was so high up that could make out the continents.
'Is that Japan?' Thought Akko as she then started to fall.
Akko's first thought was to use her broom, but she then stopped as she wondered if was safe to do so. Akko then started to feel the heat as she fell, so she pulled out her key.
"Oh, key that hides the power of the stars, reveal your true power before me. I, Akko command you under our contract. Release!" Said Akko as she pulled out her most trusted card.
"Card created by Clow, abandon your old form and reincarnate, under the name of Akko, your new master!" Chanted Akko as she tossed the card forward and transformed it into an Akko card. "WINDY slow my descent!"
WINDY then came out as it made a small tornado around Akko as it slowed her descent.
Back on the ground everyone saw the tornado as they made room for it. When it reached the ground, it dispersed revealing a shaken Akko as WINDY turned back into a card.
"Are you ok?" Asked Nelson in worry.
"Am I back on the ground?" Asked Akko in a shaken tone.
"Yes." Nelson told her.
"Then I'm good." Said Akko as she added. "If it's ok, I'm taking a nap."
And with that Akko fell down passed out from the excitement and transforming a card. Seeing this people crowded around her as Kero and Yue flew over and made sure she was ok.
"Is Akko going to be fine?" Asked a worried Lotte.
"She'll be fine." Kero told her. "She's just suffering from magic overuse and the rush from her trip."
"But what caused it?" Asked Nelson as she had never seen anything like that before.
"My best guess is she used too much magic." Said Yue as this confused everyone.
"She used too much magic?" Asked as confused Lotte.
"Yes, you see Akko has a high amount of inner magic. Whenever she uses a card that card takes what magic it needs from Akko in order to complete it's task." Explained Yue as that made sense.
"But what about her wand/staff she uses in class?" Asked Suzy as she has no problem with it.
"That's because she's focused on the task at hand." Said Yue as this was different. "Flying is harder because you need to change your energy output as you fly and Akko hasn't learnt that level of control yet."
"Also, she was super excited for this class. So she might have dumped a lot of magic into her broom without realizing it." Added Kero.
Nelson nodded as this did make sense. "Ok, you two take her to the infirmary for now." Said Nelson as she pointed at Lotte and Suzy. "The rest of you back to class."
With that all the girls, but Lotte and Sucy went back to class. As the two went to pick up Akko.
"Allow me." Said Yue as he wings grew and encased him. They then parted as Yue was in his real form. He then picked up Akko and held her in a bridal style as he headed to the infirmary with the girls and Kero following her, as Kero held Akko's staff.
Later that day Akko woke up and was allowed to leave the infirmary. But not before Rebecca made the joke that she was ready to make a bed solely for Akko. As they walked Akko head was low.
"What's wrong Akko?" asked Lotte as she had a good idea.
"I've always wanted to ride a broom and now I'm having control issues." Said Akko as she felt like it was one thing after another. And to think she still had that class to teach. Would anyone even take her seriously now?
As they walked, they came across a trophy case filled with pictures of witches, but Akko's eye went to the window as she saw some girls practicing what looked like a baton bass but with brooms.
"What are they doing?" Asked Akko as it looked fun. Outside Akko saw one girl pass a ring to another girl as she flew off.
"It's for the broom relay coming up. They are practicing passing the baton." Explained Lotte.
"Broom relay?" Repeated Akko as she wondered if it was like a normal relay.
"The Luna Nova cup broom relay. It's a tradition." Lotte told her as she turned around and looked ta the trophy case behind them.
"Teams of three race towards the finish while passing along a baton." Continued Lotte as she explained the competition.
"I see." Said Akko as she looked at the photos. Her eye then landed on a photo of Chariot. Seeing this Akko's eyes shined.
"Oh no." Said Kero as he knew that look in her eyes.
"What's wrong?" Asked Sucy curious.
"That's Akko's 'lets do it' look." Said Kero as he dealt with many times before.
"Let's do it." Said Akko as she didn't hear Kero. "Let's win the race."
Both Lotte and Sucy looked at each other with worried looks.
"But Akko you're having problems with control right now. And my broom isn't ready yet." Lotte told her with worry in her voice.
"I bet we still have time before the competition. So I have time to train and you have time to get your broom." Countered Akko as she wanted to win.
Lotte wanted to argue, but Akko made some good points. So all she could do was nod. Afterall if Akko could capture all the Clow cards, riding a broom should be easy right.
The next day Akko was in the field with her broom and with her staff on her back just in case. Nearby was her guardians, Nelson and Rebecca just in case something went wrong. Akko got into position as she got on her broom and was ready to put her magic into it, but as soon as she did she started to breath heavily and started to sweat as what happened before came rushing back to her.
Akko then let go of her broom and stepped away from in fear as she fell onto her butt. Seeing this everyone rushed over to her.
"Akko what's wrong?" Asked Kero in worry, but all he got was Akko breathing hard.
Nelson looked at her as she knew what it was. "She has Posttraumatic stress disorder or better known as PTSD." Nelson told everyone as she had seen at many times before.
"PTSD?!" Repeated Kero in shock. "How?! She's been in danger before how is this any different from those times?"
"It's always different for everyone." Said Nelson s this was the first time she saw it in someone's Akko's age.
Rebecca kneeled down near Akko as she made sure Akko's pulse was in an acceptable area. But when she did she almost missed it, but she felt magic that wasn't Akko's. Rebecca's eyes went wide for a second as she realized what happened. Luckily no one noticed it.
"Perhaps it would be best for Akko to take it easy for the rest of the day?" Suggested Rebecca as she knew what really happened here.
"Yes." Agreed Nelson. "Perhaps you should go into town and forget about school for a bit?"
Hearing that Akko nodded as she clamed down. "Lotte did say her broom was ready to be picked up." She told them as she got up and grabbed her broom and walked off.
Nelson turned to Rebecca and was about to say something, but all she saw was her walking off in anger.
"What is that about?" Nelson asked herself out loud. But little did they know someone over heard them.
With Rebecca she knew who was to blame as she headed to her place. Once there she slammed the door open. It was a nice little place with a master bedroom, a kitchen/living room and an office/spare bedroom.
"Eriol!" Snarled Rebecca as she saw her husband sitting there with a sewing kit.
Eriol saw and heard his wife and knew he was in trouble, big trouble if the dent in the wall was anything to go by.
"Yes, dear." Said Eriol as he decided to play it by ear.
"Don't you 'yes, dear' me." Rebecca told him as she marched right over to him. "What was the one rule we agreed on when we started this?"
"Not to hurt Akko." Answered Eriol as he wasn't sure what was going on.
"Then why did you give her PTSD then?" Rebecca demanded as Eriol was shocked to hear that.
"What are you talking about?" Asked Eriol confused. "I just gave her a slight fear of flying."
Now that wasn't what Rebecca was expecting. "But she has all the symptoms." She told her husband.
Hearing that confused Eriol. "But my spell shouldn't have done that, unless…." Trailed off Eriol as he thought about it.
"Unless, what?" Asked Rebecca as this confused her.
"Unless, the spell that tampered with Akko's magic had an unknown side affect on her, changing the spell I casted on her." Said Eriol as this was troubling.
Rebecca thought about it and agreed with him. "How long did you cast that spell to last?" She asked him.
"About a mouth, give or take a week or two." He told her as she glared at him.
"And why did you cast it in the first place?!" Demanded Rebecca as she hoped it wasn't for what she thought it was.
"So, she would transform the FLY card." Eriol told her as he saw his wife got even angrier. "I did it because once she learns to fly a broom, she might never have a chance to transform it."
"And you don't think she would do a group transformation?" Questioned Rebecca as she wasn't sure where her husband was going.
"No, because I believe she can make the card evolve." Eriol told her as Rebecca gasped. Rebecca was quite as she let it sit in.
"Fine." She finally said as Eriol relaxed a bit. "But your sleeping on the couch until she transforms the FLY card."
Eriol nodded as he knew better then to push his luck. And he had a backup plan in place in case Akko didn't use the FLY card in the race. But he knew he should get used to sleeping on the couch for now.

Last Wednesday Society
Later that day Akko and Lotte were walking to the Last Wednesday society where Lotte's broom was repaired. Joining the two were Kero and Yue as they took cover in Akko's bag as they were curious to what this place was. All they have heard was it was a place to get magic items and was a café.
As the two girls walked, they talked about the shop and what it was like. But Akko had yet to tell her friends about what happened earlier, as she didn't want to worry them.
Soon they reached their destination. Akko and her guardians were a bit weirded out by the entrance to the store. For in the windows were skeletons and above the door were skeletons of animals. And above the door was the stores name.
"Is this the right place?" Asked Kero as he popped his head up and looked at the shop.
Seeing this Akko looked around and saw no one as she stuffed Kero back down.
"Why did you do that?" Asked Lotte confused.
"We don't know anyone around here." Said Akko as she added. "Who knows how'd they react."
Hearing that Lotte understood as they entered the store. Inside they saw shelves filled with all sorts of items and potions. Near the door was a cash register and a man.
The man had pale skin and brown hair that went to his shoulders. He had a slight beard on his chin. He wore dark green shirt and black pants and a gray apron over it. On his right arm he had a green tattoo of a skull with horns surrounded by what looked like flames or mist. This man was the owner of the shop.
"Welcome." Greeted the owner.
"I'm here to pick up my broom." Said Lotte as she handed the man a paper and he nodded. But when he saw Akko he did a double take, like he knew her but couldn't remember from where.
"Well… Oh, this one. I'll be right back." Said the owner as he left the room to get Lotte's broom.
Akko looked around the store as Kero and Yue popped their head out as they looked around too. It wasn't a big store, as the stock was in the front and the café was in the back corner.
As Akko looked around, she suddenly felt a magic presence. It wasn't the same as the one that cause the water tornadoes. It felt weaker and like it was restrained. Akko followed her senses to the back of the store where she saw a cage. But what was in the cage was weird. For sitting in it was a broom.
The broom was red. The top of the broom had an arrow with a hand grip on it and the bottom looked like feathers almost. But what stood out the most was this broom was bolted down.
"Why they need to lock up a broom?" Asked Akko as it made no sense to her. Both Kero and Yue were just as confused.
"Wait could this be…" Said Lotte as she walked over and saw an old newspaper article hanging nearby.
"This is the legendary broom, the Shooting star!" Lotte told Akko and her guardians.
"The Shooting star?" Repeated Akko confused.
"It is said that once upon a time, a witch crossed the Atlantic Ocean on a broom. The broom works without the energy of the Sorcerer's stone. The legendary broom has magic power in itself. When it flies, it looks exactly like a shooting star." Explained Lotte as it was quite the tale.
"So that's why I sensed it." Said Akko as she looked at the broom and to both girls shock the top of the broom bent forward as if it was looking at Akko.
"Careful girls, that broom can be quite wild and dangerous." Warned the owner as he walked over to them with Lotte's broom.
"Dangerous?" Repeated Akko wondering how a broom could be dangerous.
"It's so dangerous, that'll keep flying even when the rider falls off." Said the owner as he gave Lotte her broom back.
"But as long as it locked up, even if the broom escapes the chain will pull it back. A dangerous broom." The owner told them.
"Is it that fast?" Asked Akko as the broom interested her.
"They say it once passed a jet." The Owner told Akko.
"Amazing!" Said Akko as she could never do that with FLY, but then again she had never tried that before.
"If I had this broom, I'd win the broom relay easily." Said Akko as she thought she used her inside voice.
"You? You're going to enter the broom relay?" Asked the Owner surprised.
"Yes." Said Akko as part of her wondered if she could even do it.
"Well no one can ride this broom." Said the Owner as he doubted anyone could. "Beside this year's winner will be Diana. No doubt about it."
"See." Said the Owner as he held out a school paper saying Diana would win. But his eyes widened when he saw an article on the back about Akko having the Cloud cards.
The owner looked at the picture and then at Akko, as he did this a few times making Akko worried.
"Wait a minute, you're Atsuko Kagari! The new owner of the Cloud cards!" Said the owner in shock.
"But you can call me Akko." Said Akko as she didn't know what else to say.
"Wait here." Said the Owner as he rushed off. Akko looked at Lotte unsure what to do, as Lotte as at a loss too.
The Owner came back with a large book that Akko recognized as the life and times of Cloud Reed. When Kero first read it he said it was nearly completely true with a few facts off a bit.
"Could you and the guardians of the Cloud sign this?" Asked the Owner as he held it out to Akko.
Akko could only nervously chuckle as she took the book. "Sure." She said as Kero and Yue floated out of her bag as they all signed the book.
But what no one saw was Amanda was hiding around a corner as she looked at the Shooting star and grinned.

Luna Nova
It was the night before the broom relay and Akko couldn't sleep. After leaving the Last Wednesday society Akko called Tomoyo after finding out her name was spreading. And unfortunately, word had reached Japan. Though the good news was her name hadn't reach Japan yet, just that a girl from Luna Nova had the cards. With that in mind Akko was going to call her parents when she done with the relay, as she didn't want to split her focus on riding her broom.
And she wished this were getting better on that end. The best she could do was sit on her broom anything else would cause her to collapse.
Akko just sighed as she sat on the school's roof as her legs dangled over the edge. Her mind kept going to the race and she wondered if she could even do it. Sure she had a plan in place in case she couldn't, though a part of her wondered if it would be legal.
"What are you doing here Akko?" Asked someone from behind Akko. Akko turned around and saw Diana there.
"Just clearing my head." Said Akko.
"I should report you for being out so late, but I can see something is weighing heavily on you." Said Diana as she sat down with her.
Akko looked up at the sky as her eyes fell on the full moon. "I tired Diana." She told Diana who looked at her funny.
"What do you mean?" Diana asked her curiously.
"I feel like it's one hurtle after another lately. First was gathering the cards, then the trail. After the trail I though I was in the clear, then I came here and found problems with my magic. Sure I figured it out, but now there's some outside force out there after me. And worse of all I can't fly a broom!"
Diana looked at Akko as she brought her knees up to her chest and looked defeated.
"I won't lie Akko, you've done more then me." Said Diana gaining Akko's attention. "All I'm known for is being a Cavendish, being a descendant of Cloud Reed and having the best marks in school. If I had to be honest, I feel like you've been through more and accomplished more than me."
Hearing that Akko didn't know what to say as. To hear Diana of all people say that made her feel better.
"Is there something you've always wanted to do?" Asked Akko curiously.
Diana sat there as she thought about it. "I've always wanted to hold all the Cloud cards in my hands." Diana told Akko as she still wanted that even after her little episode she had with TIME.
Akko then brought out the Cloud cards and held them towards Diana.
"Want to hold them?" Asked Akko as she then added with a giggle. "And don't worry nothing bad will happen this time."
Hearing that Diana frowned at the second part, but regardless took the deck of cards. As she held them a part of her wished she was told about them being unsealed and she went to get them like Li did.
"Akko." Said Diana as she choose her words carefully. "I overheard what happened to you and your broom."
Hearing that Akko head hung low as Diana continued. "I don't think it's PTSD." Now that made Akko shoot her head up.
"Why do you say that?" Akko asked her confused.
"The Cavendish's have been known for our healing magic, and after everything you went through capturing the cards, I feel like this isn't natural." Diana told her as it didn't make sense to her.
Akko nodded as she felt the same way. She taken tons of falls trying to catch the cards, heck she even saw her friends vanish before her. And this fall is what causes it?
"I agree, but if it isn't natural then what is it?" Asked Akko as she could only think of one reason. The force that cause the water tornadoes is back and targeted her again, but the question is what for?
"I can only think of what caused those water tornadoes." Diana told her as they were on the same page.
"But how will you take part in tomorrows race?" Diana added curious.
"I have my ways." Akko said with a grin.
Akko face then turned sober. "Diana thank you for just now." Akko told her as she felt better as she then stood up.
Seeing this Diana also stood up as she handed the cards back to Akko. Then to Diana surprise Akko gave her a quick hug to show her thanks.
"Just know tomorrow I'm going to win." Said Akko as she had her confidence back.
"You mean I'm going to win." Said Diana as she was looking forward to the race.
The next day everyone was getting ready for the race as the students taking part were on the field. Some were stretching, while other checking their brooms, and such. Headmaster Holbrooke had just finished her speech as many were wanting to win this race.
One such person was Sucy. If they won, they would get not only the trophy but something from Professor Lukic their potions teacher. While Sucy was sure Akko would try something to make up for her not being able to fly on her broom, she wasn't going to take any chances.
As Akko focus on her magic she saw the yellow team as they were members of the Luna Nova news network. Which confused Akko. After all she saw one of them with a mic and she thought that tech was banned here since she had to hide the laptop, she uses to skype with Tomoyo. But she knew better then to question something like that, for now.
"Akko will you be alright?" Asked Lotte as Akko hasn't been able to properly fly yet.
Hearing that Akko smiled as she brought out two Cloud cards. "Don't worry I have a back up plan." She told Lotte as Lotte didn't know which cards they were since their back was facing her.
"Wouldn't it be better to use the FLY card?" Asked Lotte as she didn't want Akko to pass out from magic loss.
"It would, but I would then have to use my staff, and this is a broom relay. So that would be cheating." Akko told her as Lotte had to admit she was right.
Akko then looked over at Amanda as she felt a familiar magic, but she couldn't place it. But as she looked at Amanda she saw her leaning on a covered box.
"All the teams, assemble here." Ordered Nelson as everyone gathered around her as they lined up.
"You are to fly the Luna Nova special course for this broom relay. Don't forget to charge energy from the Sorcerer' stone. The first rider must check to make sure the baton is secure. If the baton is damaged, lost, or can't be passed to the next rider, you will be disqualified." Nelson told them as many girls had rings on their left wrists.
"Now, the first riders must get to their starting position, while the second and third riders quickly move to their relay positions." Nelson added all the girls took off.
"Miss Kagari a minute." Said Nelson as Akko stopped and walked over to her.
"You asked me about your plan was legal or not." Said Nelson as Akko nodded. "After talking with the headmistress, we agreed as long as you ride your broom it will be legal."
"Thank you." Said Akko as she saw everyone was far off.
"Kero could I get a lift?" Asked Akko as Kero's wing grew and encased him as he transformed into his real form.
"Oh course." Said Kero as Akko got on his back and flew off.
Nelson looked at Yue with some worry on her face. "Why won't she use the FLY card?" Asked Nelson as the FLY was her favorite card.
"Because she would be cheating." Answered Yue as he added. "And while I haven't known Akko as long as Kerberos has, I can say that she will never use the cards to cheat."
Hearing that Nelson nodded as she got on her broom and took off. But she had to admit she did gain a little respect for Akko just now.
At the starting point all the girls stood on a tall stage as Lotte looked nervous as they awaited the start signal.
"On your mark, get set…" Said Nelson as she fired her starting gun as a firework shot out.
"Tia Freyre!" Said all the girls as they went to take off. But only Lotte took off.
The reason why no one else took off was because the straw on their brooms had somehow grown roots latching onto the stage and kept them in place. What no one knew was Sucy used a potion on all their brooms to keep them in place.
As the girls tried to take off Sucy forgot about one person as Constanze as her broom was a mixture of a normal broom and a machine. As it had propeller and an engine. And as such she quickly passed Lotte.
Soon Constanze reached the pass off station as Jasminka got on her broom as she sat sideways and took off. Soon Constanze passed the others and handed the ring off to Jasminka.
"They customized their brooms! No wonder the nutrients didn't work." Realized Sucy as Jasminka was getting out of eye site.
"Sucy!" Yelled Lotte as she reached the hand off spot.
"Lotte, over here!" Said Sucy as she took off and Lotte handed her the ring.
As Jasminka flew she was eating a bag of chips as her attention changed as a doughnut was hanging from a tree. Now normally someone would wonder why a doughnut would be hanging from a tree, but Jasminka didn't care as she grabbed it and eat it. Then to her joy she saw more hanging from the trees.
Jasminka followed the doughnuts as she flew off the course, as Sucy grinned as she was glad, she set this up just in case.
Meanwhile at the last pass-off point, which was a large tower, the girls waited for their teammates, all but Amanda. Amanda was hiding in the tower as she looked at the box she had as she took off the cover revealing the Shooting star.
"I'm Amanda, a rebel just like you. Let's be friends." Greeted Amanda as she went to release the bolts holding the broom down.
Then out of no where the broom took off but was still be held down by a chain.
"You…" Growled Amanda as she tried to use the chain to bring the broom down.
Outside Akko eyes went wide as she turned to the inside of the tower.
"Akko?" Said Diana as she saw the sudden movement.
"The Shooting star is here." Said Akko surprising the other girls as they all looked inside the tower, just as said broom flew away.
"Was here." Corrected Akko as everyone looked at where the broom was.
Diana was about to head in and see what happened when they heard someone.
"Akko!" Yelled Sucy as Akko brought out her key.
"Oh, key that hides the power of the stars, reveal your true power before me. I, Akko command you under our contract. Release!" Said Akko as her staff appeared before her as she then pulled out two cards.
"Cards created by Clow, abandon your old form and reincarnate, under the name of Akko, your new master!" Chanted Akko as she tossed the cards forward and transformed it into an Akko cards. "MOVE, FLOAT move my broom."
Akko then got on her broom and put her staff in her sash as the cards power caused her to take off. Sucy then handed the ring off as Akko took off.
"Is that legal?" Asked one of the girls.
"She is riding her broom." Another girl said.
Diana just watched as she grinned as Akko found a way to ride her broom without putting magic into it. But she then wondered where her team was.
Meanwhile back at the starting line the other girls had just freed their brooms as they took off hoping they could still win.
As Akko flew she was going at a moderate pace. Then out of no where something collided with her as Akko went flying and hit the ground. The only good thing was Akko was flying close to the ground when it happened.
"Is that…" Said Akko as she saw the Shooting star flying towards her. Akko ducked as the broom went over her, but for whatever reason Akko grabbed the chain as she went flying with it.
But the speed at which the Shooting star was going Akko lost her grip, but then out of no where the broom turned around as Akko fell on it.
Seeing she was safe Akko gave a sigh of relief. "Thank you." She said to the broom as she then realized it wasn't slowing down but going faster.
Akko and the Shooting star then flew though people houses, over a snow covered mountain and even into the sea. Akko's eyes went wide as they barely missed a submarine. The next thing she knew they were flying along side an airplane.
Then to Akko's horror there was a flock of birds before them, as Akko held on to dear life. But a bird hit her staff as it went flying down.
"NO!" Yelled Akko as she lost sight of her staff.
As Akko's staff fell it was suddenly caught by Diana as she had a worried look on her face.
With Akko she knew she had to gain control, or who knows what could happen.
"Please stop!" She begged the broom as the Shooting star didn't listen to her.
Akko was getting nervous now as she had one idea. An idea she hated, but it was her only hope.
Akko concentrated as she focused her magic into the Shooting star as her magic symbol appeared. Akko kept her mind on the task as she didn't see the Shooting star as a broom, but a living being.
As Akko's magic reached the Shooting star's Akko felt connected to the broom.
'Please let me off.' Thought Akko as she wanted to find her staff.
'No.' Said the Shooting star shocking Akko 'We're winning this race.'
And with that Akko and the Shooting star headed back to the race course. As they flew Akko grabbed hold on the metal bar before her as she planted her feat on the one behind her.
Soon Akko was back on track as Diana was before her as Akko saw her staff with her.
"Akko!" Said Diana in shock as she didn't expect this.
Behind them Amanda was rushing to gain up with them.
"It's my broom. Give it back to me!" Yelled Amanda as she wanted the broom back as she went for it only for Akko to move to dodge every time.
"It doesn't want to go with you." Akko told her as she then sped up.
"Hey Akko!" Said Amanda as she was about to speed up as well only to her a whistle, causing her to stop.
She looked over and saw Nelson with a red card facing her way.
"Your disqualified." Said Nelson as Amanda was confused. "You failed to grab the baton."
Confused Amanda looked down ad saw her baton was really a doughnut.
Back in the race Akko and Diana were neck and neck as they saw the goal in front of them. Neither girl said anything as they focused on the gaol before them.
'Watch out!' Cried the Shooting star as the metal bars Akko was holding onto broke, causing Akko to lose her grip.
Akko went flying off the broom as everyone gasped at the sight, but before anyone knew what happened Diana grabbed her as the two crossed the finish line together.
But no one cared as all eyes were on the Shooting Star as the end of the broom spread as they became wings for the broom as it flew away.
Later Akko's group got disqualified for Sucy's cheating, so Diana's team won by default and due to Akko not riding her own broom across the finish line.
As for the Shooting star there was a sighting of it over Japan as it seemed to be flying the world. The good news was it wasn't causing any sort of harm or the authorities didn't see a reason to recapture, for now.
Diana stood in front of her team's victory photo as it didn't feel right.
"Congratulations on the win." Said Eriol as he walked over.
"It doesn't feel like a true win." Said Diana as she added. "Next year I hope to truly race against Akko."
Eriol smiled at that as Diana walked away leaving him alone. "And maybe next year she'll be using the FLY." He said to himself softly.
He then gasped as he held him back. "God, I hate sleeping on the couch."
Now I would like to explain myself about giving Akko PTSD. I needed a reason for her not to be able to ride a broom. I know that sound mean, but as I was thinking about it I realized that if Akko could ride a broom then why would she transform the FLY card. And I don't want to use the FLY in a group transformation, I fell that card diverse better. And as I stated it won't last long.
Now onto the race I know some of you wanted Akko to win, but with Sucy cheating I'm surprised they didn't lose because of that in the show.
