Chapter 6: Pigs, Clay, and a Princess

Duster stumbled out of the Osohe Castle, clutching onto the spittoon, he carefully held onto it as he made his way through Tazamily, thankful that people were still asleep at this time. He also still had the strange pendant in his pocket. Hopefully this was the object his father was looking for. Otherwise…

He arrived back at his house and opened the door, Wess immediately turned around to face him.

"Ah, Duster," Wess said. "Did you bring the important item?"

"Yeah," Duster set the spittoon down on the ground.

Wess looked at the vase, then back at Duster, "Is this?!" He examined it more carefully. "This luster… This Texture… This delicate, profound, and shiny...quality! This is the legendary Noble Spittoon passed down from generation to generation in Osohe…" Duster let out a sigh of relief.

"It seems I was right…" Wess said. "Duster you are… EXCEPTIONALLY STUPIDER THAN I THOUGHT!" Wess picked up the Spittoon and smashed it against the ground.

"Your moron! You moron! YOU STUPID MORON!" Wess grumbled. "You call yourself a thief, yet you can't even tell what it is you need to steal?!"

"It's not like you gave me a description, a name, or even the slightest indication as to what I was looking for!" Duster snapped back. "You only ever referred to the important item as the important item! You didn't tell me what the hell it was!"

Wess frowned. "Did you bring anything else?" He muttered. "Any other big jackpot items?" the sarcasm in his voice was unheard of.

Duster muttered to himself as he took out the amethyst pendant he found the strange person drop on the ground. "I found this...but I suppose this isn't the important item either?"

"This…" Wess looked at the pendant with wide eyes. "Well...it's not what I was looking for...but...where did you find this?"

"Some girl dropped it inside the castle...that's about all I can tell you."

"Duster! This pendant belongs to the princess of Osohe Castle! You moron!"

"Can you lay off?"

"Now, you moron." Wess paced around the room, "Your first job was a completely spectacular failure...but this is no time to be calling you a moron. We will be going back to Osohe Castle at once! And I shall be accompanying you this time, you moron."

"Fine...let's get going." Duster muttered.

It didn't take long for Duster and Wess to make it back to the castle and realize something was wrong.

The grounds outside of the Castle had been completely torn up, and there were two weird machines that they couldn't quite describe.

They looked like metal wagons, with a large top and some sort of weird motorized thing that pumped out smoke. It also had some weird large opening from the center top. On each of the strange silver machines, there was the emblem of a pig's snout on them.

"What are these things?" Wess asked curiously, examining the strange contraptions. He shook himself back to the present. "No matter, the enemy must already be inside."

They ran inside, and were met with a rather strange sight. There were two people dress up as Pigs, standing behind a statue of Clay with a red bulb flashing at the top.

"Oinkers, so the Boss said we need to find some artifact?" One said.

"Yeah, that's what Boss said." The other replied.

Both of them turned their attention to Duster and Wess.

"Uh oh, Intruders!" said Pigmask Right.

"Fire it up then! Don't just stand there you stupid idiot!"

"Roger!" The Pigmask on the right took two weird wired antennas that summoned a bit of lightning, and pressed into the Clayman, after a lot of zaps and a bit of beeps. The red light at the top of the antenna came on, the Clayman blinked, then it stood up.

"Attack the intruders, Oink!" the Pigmask said.

The Clayman got up and quickly ran over to Duster and tried to unleash a powerful punch.

Duster quickly ducked out of the way and did a sliding kick sweep, the attack didn't do much, other than tell him that this was going to be harder than he first anticipated.

"You always get us into trouble you Moron." Wess took out a Thunder Bomb and chucked it, the Clayman smacked it out the way, blasting the bomb into the two Pigmasks who blew up and smashed into the walls.

Duster took out a sprinting bomb and threw, the blast went across the area and put a small dent in the Clayman's structure.

Wess threw a smoke bomb down and quickly moved with blinding speed and performed a quick hand slap chop to the Clayman's face, it left a large footprint, which the monster merely shrugged off.

The Clayman punched the ground, sending large chunks of rock and debris all over the castle floor, blowing Duster and Wess backwards.

The Clayman ran over and made an attempt to Body Slam Duster by falling down on top of him. Duster quickly rolled out of the way as the Clayman crashed down, it did send a shockwave that pushed him back just a little.

The Clayman made a motion to push itself back up, however, it found itself unable to lift itself up. Duster seized the opportunity and quickly used a powerful leg blow to blast the Clayman backwards, as the clayman was flying through the air, Wess took out a thunder bomb and carefully aimed it into the creature's spacious opening that was meant to serve as an eye.

The Clayman smashed into the wall and then exploded in a burst of electrical shocks, sending chunks of clay into the ground and on the floor.

Wess took a moment to catch his breath as he and Duster turned to each other.

"Let's get moving you moron, we need to get through here and up to the third floor!"

After what felt like three agonizing hours of nonstop fighting, They finally arrived in the room where the Duster had found the Noble Spittoon. With each Pigmask they fought, they were accompanied by a drone that could fire weird rockets, beams, not to mention the absurd amount of floors.

"This is the place." Duster said.

"Yes," Wess examined the room, a weird facial structure, accompanied by two walls showing something that looked like an entire dance sequence were hanging. "I'll have to open this door." he turned to Duster.

"YOU!" he said, "Turn around now! Allow me to open the door."

"But what if I have to find-"

"DO IT!" Wess scolded, "I'm not going to stick my butt out or anything."

Duster rolled his eyes and turned around, he waited patiently for a few seconds, before hearing his father make some very...interesting step patterns.

He turned around and, through sheer willpower, refrained himself from laughing.

Wess was standing, hunched a little, shaking his booty from left to right making arm movement on either side, akin to the wall paintings on the left side.

Wess stopped and made his arms in circles, from left to right, as if he was spinning a baton. Then, he made a circular motion, to which Duster quickly turned back around, hoping he hadn't seen anything, he heard more footsteps going in a faster spinning motion before coming to a halt.

He heard the sound of the face of the wall moving open, revealing a passageway behind the area. Then, Wess started speaking to him.

"I believe I taught you this dance when you were young. I also told you a million times to do it if you were ever stuck."

"Yeah, I did, until I embarrassed myself in town with it."

"Either way you moron, let's get moving."

They arrived in a large room that had a balcony overlooking the courtyard, in the center of the courtyard, there was a strange needle looking object in the area.

"What's that?" Duster asked.

"I do not know." Wess said. "I asked King Osohe long ago, but his usual kind and gentle expression turned stern, and he told me to forget about it. Whatever it is, it is best we leave it be."

SNAP BANG POP!

"DAMN IT!"

A large sound of a weird contraption being set off, followed by a female voice cursing herself echoed through the area.

"Oh dear…" Wess said.

The two quickly ran into the adjacent room, and then quickly had to duck in opposite directions as a beam of ice shot towards them. It missed both of them and smashed into the wall.

Duster looked up and saw the same girl who had dropped her pendant. Now that he had a decent chance to look at her, he noticed she was about his age. She was sitting on the ground, with her leg stuck in some sort of binding rope that looked like a trap his father would set.

The girl's eyes widened at the two of them.

"Wess?!" She asked, her voice a bit more tomboyish than expected, much like her outfit. "Is that you ya old geezer?!"

Wess let out a sigh of relief. "Oh, princess, it was you! Oh, this does bring back memories. I would forget about you oh for a bit but…" the girl's face looked at him a bit deadpanned.

"No wait, I stuttered up my words. I wouldn't have forgotten about you except for a bit and…" Duster too felt himself facepalm at this.

"Dammit, Duster, You moron! Get your act together!"

"I haven't done anything!"

"Whatever," The girl said. "Can you all help me, I got my leg caught up in this stupidass trap. Can't afford to die here, so I was just gonna cut my foot off."

"Oh ho ho!" Wess muttered. "I see you are as reckless as ever, but you needn't resort to removing your foot, Princess." Wess bent down and gently undid the trap, allowing the ropes off the girl to spring free. "I'm so glad to see you're alright.

The girl stood up, and walked over to Duster. "I believe you have something that is mind? Ya little thief."

"For the record, I didn't steal it." Duster said, taking out her pendant and handing it to her. "You dropped it. My name is Duster, not that you asked."

The girl rolled her eyes. "Damn, Can't let my guard down for even a second. Anyway, my name's Kumatora, nice to meetcha."

A bit of silence caught up with them. Then, Wess clapped her hands together.

"Alright, back to searching. Princess, will you be joining us?"

"Of course I will Geezer," Kumatora replied. "Can't rely on your old ass to do things right. Duster, don't get me killed."

That's all for this month's chapter. I think Kumatora has the most personality out of all the main characters in Mother 3, such a shame that she barely gets much character development. But, she does a such a job of making me laugh just about every time she opened her mouth to speak. I think making her a bit of a tomboyish princess with a quick to irritate attitude but a caring personality deep down.

With that being said, I've always been curious about Kumatora's and Duster's relationship, they've had interactions that seem to indicate feelings, but I don't think it was ever confirmed. There is one character that I feel like doesn't get enough recognition in Mother 3, and I have current plans to change it. I think based on this story's description and my current process of thinking who it is.

Anyway, I'll see you all, hopefully next month, for the next chapter. Leave a review if you want, or just say nice chapter.
