We get to see how both Javert and Madeline/Valjean deal with its repercussions, particularly when Javert's men start to think of him as a lesser man. Don't panic there's an ok-ish ending when I get there.

What if the 1832 June Rebellion never took place? It's now late in 1834 and Julien Enjolras is losing faith in his cause and the loyalty of his friends. But then the unexpected appearance of a young woman has an irreversible effect on not only his life, but on the lives of the Amis. She is not a cause, but a trigger, a trigger that will set off a very different version of events.

Cosette is passing on, but before Heaven, she needs to see three people who changed her life.

Javert, God of Order; and Valjean, God of Mercy, are both distressed by the rising discontent in the country of France, although for different reasons. Javert is annoyed that the building revolutionary effort is putting strain on his system, and Valjean just wants everyone to be happy. Mortal war and immortal bickering ensue, but it's a whole lot fluffier than it sounds. Mostly.

A foster kid, Cosette didn’t have the ideal childhood. But it seemed out of character for her to run away. Marius is willing to do anything to help her. As she stays in the shed in the backyard, they grow closer, friendship blossoming into romance as Marius tries to figure out why Cosette ran away.

Cosette was never stubborn until she got sick. As a child, it was drilled in her that she couldn't rest when she was ill. Now that she was older, she simply refused to be sick. Yet it only took some prodding to get her back to bed.

"We'll get married." He tells her, as she cleans out Valjean's room with tears in her eyes. "I don't want your pity." She scoffs at him. "I can never love again like I loved Marius." "Then don't marry me for love, marry me for security." She sizes him up and down with bleak, wet eyes and finally nods. "Alright."

The night before the barricades rise, Grantaire reflects on how he is unable to believe in Enjolras' cause, and decides to join in the battle anyway because of his love for Enjolras himself. To the tune of "If I Believed" from Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier.
