Chapter 22

Four's POV

What the fuck?

I knew that Tris was different but what was that? I have no idea what happened.

After I injected the serum, I was staring at her. Something about her makes me want to stay close but I don't know why.

I finally decide to go over to the computer and I see absolutely nothing. As I keep watching, I don't know what was happening. I try to figure out what is happening but it's just confusing.

At some point, it stops.

I look over to where Tris was and see her starting to wake up. When she does, she looks over to the camera and then comes over to where I am and she pushes me to get to the computer.

What is she thinking? If Jeanine ever found out, we could both be killed!

But yet again, something makes me not stop her.

What's wrong with me!?

I could take her down within seconds and it would be second nature. Yet, I'm frozen in place, unable to move. I don't understand why it's like I would rather take the leadership position than letting someone hurt her. But why?

Before I know it, we are staring at each other and she leaves.

I feel heart by it, like why would she leave and not explain herself, she had done it before. Why change now?

Anyway, I decided that I should continue the rest of the simulations.

After Urhia, who was the only one after Tris, I headed down to the cafeteria for lunch.

"Hey, Four! How did my little bro do?" Zeek asks.

I don't respond.

"Four?"

"What?" I ask, completely confused, I don't remember getting to the table.

"You all right?" Zeek asks.

"Oh ya, sorry, just deep in thought."

"Oh my gosh! Did anyone just hear that? Little scarry Four was thinking!" Uriah yells.

"Will you shut up!" I say annoyed and frustrated.

"Sorry big guy, but it's just funny."

"Whatever."

I end up not getting any food for lunch because I can't find it in me to eat.

"So, who caught your attention?"

"What!?" I ask shocked, what is he thinking asking me a question like that?

"Shill, ok, you've just seemed happier lately, that's all." He says putting his hands up like he is surrendering. I just shake my head.

"Just stuff doesn't make sense these days."

"Are we supposed to understand that?" Uriah asks

"Shut up dude!" Zeek says and hits Uriah on the back of his head.

"Hey Four, one of your initiates just ran out."

"What?" I ask turning around. I see Tris running out of the cafeteria. I don't know what came over me but I found myself following her.

As I follow her, I see she is heading to the bathroom. When I get there, I hear something but I don't know what it is exactly.
