Chapter 25

I don't think, I act. Tris was going to die if the man dropped her.

As I'm getting closer, he talks and I freeze.

"Bitch! You're a fucking bitch! I should have locked you up! You know David is the one that brought me here." The man says. Tris' eyes widened. When I finally get to them, I tackle the man away from the railing, hoping that Tris would catch the bar.

The man is pretty heavy so he doesn't fall to the ground, he just stumbles a bit.

I don't hear water splashes so I assume she didn't go in. The man is definitely over weight. I know how to take him down.

Where Tris is should be behind me so I don't have to worry about this guy getting to her.

The guy tries to get behind me but I don't let him, focusing more on blocking than hitting. I quickly grew tired of this and punch him in the temple. It causes him to lose balance and stumble a bit. He somehow manages to get back to be able to fight and suddenly I don't see the guy, I see Marcus.

I didn't freeze, I act. I don't know what comes over me but all the training I did here came in. before I know it, he's on the ground and I'm beating him up.

I try to think about how I got here. Did I lunge at him, did he lunge at me? Did I punch first, kick? I don't know, my body and mind are talking to each other but I don't know what's happening.

It's like when you sleep for a long time, but it felt like it had only been a few minutes.

All I know now, I'm kicking this man that I thought was Marcus.

"Tobais." I don't know if I imagined it but I swear someone said my name.

"Tobais." I know I heard it now.

I look over my shoulder and see Tris. I stop. She's leaning on the railing for support, trying to walk my way.

I stop hitting the man and run to her. She falls into my arms. I picked her up, her upper body in my left arm and her lower body in my right arm.

She looks up to me and her head falls to the side, into my chest. I leave the man there, focusing on Tris.

I brought her to my apartment. On my way, I look at her face. A few times I thought she stopped breathing but felt her breath through my shirt. She has a few bruises forming, probably from the man. Who was that man? It seemed as if they knew each other but how? I didn't recognise him, it's not Andrew, her father. Who could it be then?

When I get to my apartment, I bring her to my bed. The apartment is nothing special, simple even.

I place Tris under the sheets and put a blanket on her. I feel bad leaving her, I feel like something is going to happen to her even if this place is almost impossible to find. I know that I have to go get that guy so I leave a note just in case.

When I find the man again, I drag him to the tattoo parlour. Tori is there and Max should be there.

When I get there, as I predicted, Tori and Max were there. They look at me and then see the man that I dragged here.

"Four?" Max says.

"Does anyone know who this is?" I ask no one in particular, hoping someone knows him.

"Are we supposed to?" Tori asks.

"I don't know, he attacked someone," I said.

"Why did you bring him here?" Max asks

"If both of you don't know him, then how did he get in here?" I ask instead of answering his question.

They both look at each other, not knowing what to say.

"Who did he attack?" Tori asked.

"Tris."

She looked pained. "Is she ok? Where is she?"

"I brought her to my apartment, it's the first place I thought of."

"Your apartment is the first place you thought of, not I don't know, the infirmary!?" he says, clearly mad.

"Max calm down, he did what he thought was right and it was, how did this man get in here? Is he working with someone? We need to take this seriously." Tori said. She made perfect sense, it was what I was thinking.

"Fine, I'll go talk to her." Max decided

"She's sleeping." I said, there is nothing worse than him talking first thing in the morning.

"No, I'll talk to her. If she'll talk to anyone, it will be another girl. She is still new, it might scare her if you talk to her." Max seemed to debate the idea and when he was going to protest, she continued. "Talking to you is like if you combined Eric's aggressiveness and Four's quietness, two thing you don't want."

"Fine, it's not like I'll get anywhere with you anyway." He sais under his breath.

Tori turns to me. "Let me know when she wakes up, I'll come talk to her," she turns to Max, "take the guy and make sure he can't leave and no one talks to him until we know more. We might have to take him to Candor."

After that was settled, We parted ways. I went back to my apartment where Tris was still sleeping and Max took the man, whoever he was.

Its been awhile... There will me lots of posts in the next week. My school had a COVID outbreak and they say that I have been in close contact with the person. So with nothing to do, I will be posting a more. Anyway, if you want to talk to some one, I'm here.
