A romantic comedy where Roger tells his friend Eddie a story of how he and Jessica met and fell in Love. In the midst of this romcom, an egomaniacal businessman competes for Jessica's affection while something bigger emerges from behind the scenes. My take on a prequel if another Roger Rabbit film went to Disney DVD and Blu-Ray.

4. Chapter 4: No One's Been Like Gaston

Hey, guys. It's another chappy to this fic where we see a new main antagonist for Roger and Jessica. In fact, this OC is inspired by the villain Gaston from my favorite Disney film, Beauty and the Beast. Also, thank you guys for reviewing and liking the story so far. Not sure how many chapters it will take to finish this story but maybe between 10-20 at best depending on the buildup. Feel free to throw ideas into the ring for me to use on making this story the best it can be. It helps a lot. Anyway, Roger Rabbit belongs to Disney not me. Let's get It.

=====Chapter 4: No One's Been Like Gaston====

"And we've been dating ever since.", Roger explained his first date situation with Eddie as the private eye nodded sipping his drink. Eddie had his eyebrows raised for a moment as Roger wondered of something.
"What's wrong, Eddie? Got a buzz or something?"

"No. I'm a little more tolerant to booze. But what I'm wondering is that for you to have such a lucky lady, you may have a rival of sorts. Right?", Eddie asked the toon rabbit. Roger nodded and spun his chair around feeling dizzy afterwards. Once Roger shook off the stars, he cleared his throat.
"Yeah. He was something else wanting Love Cups. Oh, where to begin?"

=====Flashback======

It was two months since Roger and Jessica were in a relationship and it was going strong. Roger and Jessica were laughing having a conversation in downtown LA.

"And that's how I'm allergic to human booze. I blew everyone away with that stunt.", Roger chuckled to Jessica as she laughed some.
"Hmm. So that's how you got Kicked Out the bar with Herman. But that's a little confusing. If you're allergic to human alcohol, then you should be the same with toon alcohol.", Jessica raised an eyebrow. Roger shrugged and grinned about the situation assuring the ginger.
"I have no idea. But toon booze is what I do best. But hey, I learned my lesson.", the rabbit chuckled as the couple were walking through the city without a care in the world. But Little did they know that they were watched by a tall brunette man who had a business suit looking suave as ever. He eyed Jessica infatuated with the ginger but glared harshly at Roger with jealousy. His bumbling yes man that resembled LeFOu from Beauty and the Beast waltzes up to the man wondering what was going On.
"Oh, my lady. Your beauty knows no bounds. I must get acquainted with the remarkable singer.", the brunette said to himself. The yes man beside him raised his eyebrow for a moment.
"So you're eyeing the lovely Jessica Crupnik? Isn't that the well-known singer at the Ink and Paint?", the yes man asked. The rich businessman nodded and snorted at his lackey.
"Yes, Beasley. She's the One I'm about to woo. Every time I hear her voice, I'm like a deer in headlights.", he said eyeing Jessica and Roger at a bench near a park entrance. Beasley being the brown-noser that he is assured the rich man.
"Relax, Tanner. You got the Odds in your favor. You're rich, famous, successful and the heir to Cloverleaf Industries. She's gotta fall head over heels for you. You get In there and do what you do best.", Beasley encouraged Tanner as the businessman smirked to his lackey. He straightened his tie and made sure he was ready.
"You're right, Beasley. I should go for the best! And I like the best! Come along, Beasley. My lady awaits."
"Don't you mean future lady? OOF!", Beasley corrected only to get bonked on the head by Tanner who scowled. Beasley rubbed the site where Tanner bonked him at as he looked at the rich man.
"Shut up, Beasley."

"I'm Just saying. What if-"

"Let's just go before I hurt you.", Tanner hissed dragging Beasley along with him so he could introduce himself to Jessica. The businessman did a quick scowl at Roger before he went over to the bench. Beasley grumbled under his breath being drugged along the Pathway.

Roger and Jessica were at the bench to sit down and relax after a walk throughout the downtown area Of LA. The ginger rubbed Roger's head in bliss as she hummed to a tune from Bambi being where the signs Of Spring is here. The rabbit smiled so goofy as he thumped his foot on the bench sitting on Jessica's lap. The ginger giggled at Roger's reaction and gently stopped his thumping foot.
"You're so silly. But I have to say that this is so peaceful. With the birds singing that song I was humming just now.", the ginger said relaxing. Roger then nodded his head remembering a pastime from years ago.
"Oh I remember that. My uncle Thumper told me that my aunt Bixby use to sing that song when they first met. So lovely.", Roger explained. Jessica cooed at the memory Roger told her of his aunt and uncle's favorite song.
"Awwwww. That's so lovely. I'm glad you loved It. I'm guessing that your uncle thumped his foot rapidly in front Of your aunt."

"Yes. He did. And he was proud Of it. Hey, who's that comin' over here?", Roger raised his ears into a question mark seeing Tanner and Beasley coming Over. Jessica made a frown for deep down she had some history with him at some Point.
"Oh great. It's Tanner Buchanan, the heir to Cloverleaf Industries.", Jessica told Roger as The rabbit grew curious.
"Is he a friend of yours? I'm sure he's an upstanding fellow.", the rabbit chirped but Jessica shook her head with a frown.
"We're not actually friends but let's just say it's kind of complicated.", Jessica explained. Tanner came to the duo with a smirk dropping Beasley onto the floor as the yes man rubbed his head groaning. The businessman approached the couple and began to speak his mind.
"Ah, well if it isn't the Lovely Jessica Crupnik. Long time, no see. And you must be the famous Roger Rabbit, I Presume. Tanner Buchanan of Cloverleaf.", he said in a charming manner as Jessica rolled her eyes.
"Tanner, what a surprise. What are you up to?", the redhead eyed him suspiciously. Tanner chuckled while Jessica and Roger waited for an answer.
"Just passing through, Ms. Crupnik. My brother Beasley and I were just taking a day stroll after a hard day at the Office.", Tanner explained as Jessica not convinced, shook her head.
"It's more than just passing through. Is it?", the ginger deadpanned catching on to the businessman trying to be fresh. Tanner laughed knowing Jessica is not a dumb person.
"Oh, Jessica. I've been outfoxed but since I'm a good sport, I'll be honest. Yes. I've been wondering if you and I would get acquainted. Perhaps a nice lovely dinner at a fancy restaurant?", Tanner said only for Roger to shake his head. He hopped in front of Tanner ready to speak his mind.
"Okay, Tony."
"It's Tanner, you cotton-tailed reprobate.", Tanner hissed.
"Anyway, you may not know this but Love Cups and I are currently in a relationship.", Roger said firmly. Tanner's face had a dumbfounded look as he did a double take watching Roger hopping back into Jessica's arms with a proud smile on his face. Jessica had a stern look directed to the businessman.
"What? He must be joking! You're in love with this—this—this riffraff?!"

"He's not joking. We are together and I suggest you take the hint and respect my wishes. And for the record, I do not feel that way.", Jessica firmly told the businessman causing him to buckle.
"Y-You don't mean that."

"I mean It and that's final.", Jessica glared standing her ground. Roger then jumped back in front of Tanner jumping into his arms getting in his face looking crazy.
"You heard the Lady, bucko! She's not interested in you. There's a lot of dames for ya, buster! Capisce?!", Roger poked the man's nose with every word said before he grinned giving him a consolation prize by kissing Tanner's forehead in toon fashion before swelling his glove smacking Tanner into the mud puddle. Jessica annoyed at Tanner felt relieved that Roger has her back as she smiled at the rabbit in her arms ready to walk into the park to take a stroll.
"Come on, Roger. Let's get out of here. You're my hero.", she kissed the rabbit as Tanner watched on growling under his breath. Passersby laughed nervously before running away avoiding his wrath. Beasley who watched Tanner's humiliation snickered with Woody Woodpecker and Gabby unaware that Tanner is getting angry by the minute. A toon farm pig slid off of Tanner and oinked away running Off. Tanner got up out of the mud and marched up to his brother.
"Oh that was so funny. So priceless.", Beasley told Woody and Gabby. Woody did his trademark laugh while Gabby from his Gulliver's Travels and his namesake shorts laughed.
"Certainly. Looks Like he got shot down for sure. YIPE!", Gabby gasped looking at a mud ridden Tanner looking pissed standing behind Beasley. Woody gulped nervously pointing at Tanner gesturing for Beasley to turn around.
"What's wrong, guys? It was a riot for sure! So funny and—"
"WHAT WAS?!"
"YIPE!", Tanner bellowed grabbing Beasley by his collar. He turned Beasley around to meet his angered face scolding his brother.
"If I hadn't sworn on our father's deathbed, that I wouldn't kill you, I'D KILL YOU!", Tanner snarled with Beasley gulping nervously with a sheepish grin. Gabby and Woody watched on as Beasley tried to diffuse the situation.
"Come on, Tan. I'm sorry. It was stupid of me to do that. Right, guys?", Beasley begged urging Gabby and Woody to play innocent as they did. Tanner then had a stern warning for his brother regarding his determination.
"I will have Jessica as my future wife! If it's the last thing I do! Make no mistake about that!", he hissed dropping Beasley with a hard thud. Gabby and Woody Woodpecker helped Beasley to his feet as he watched Tanner dust off some of the mud off his ruined suit. Beasley huffed looking at his brother grumble about something.
"Hmph. Touchy.", Beasley muttered as Gabby and Woody nodded sharing his sentiment.

The next day, Roger and Herman were finished with a cartoon filming as they were taking a break before the next one commences. The gruff baby ranted for obvious reasons related to Roger.
"Damn it all, Roger! You nearly set the whole woods on fire! What the hell am I going to do with you?!", Herman yelled while he smoked his cigar. Roger sheepishly grinned at his friend's angry outbursts.
"P-P-P-Please! I didn't mean to have the set go up in flames! You know how klutzy I get! Besides, no one's perfect.", Roger defended himself. Herman sighed as he couldn't stay mad at his friend.
"Oh all right. But try to be careful next time. Otherwise, our salary will go towards building a new set. Capisce?", Herman said to the toon rabbit who nodded. The baby took a Long smoke before he'd asked his friend a question.
"So, Rog. How did your date go with Jessica this weekend? I bet it's like any other day, perfect and Lovey-dovey.", the baby teased gruffly causing Roger to laugh.
"Herman, you can be such a tease. But anyway, it was good but we ran across some guy named Tanner Buchanan.", Roger told his friend causing Herman to nearly cough on his smokes. The gruff baby turned to Roger with a raised eyebrow at this turn of events.
"Wait a sec, Rog! You mean, the Tanner Buchanan of Cloverleaf? Oh shit!", the baby shook his head In concern. Roger raised his eyebrows in confusion at the gruff baby.
"Do you know him or something?"

"No, not personally. But I did hear from Betty Boop that Tanner and Jessica had some history together.", Herman told the rabbit.
"Really? Tell me more.", Roger eagerly told the baby continuing the backstory of Roger's new rival which was One-sided by Tanner anyway. The baby sighed as he explained the situation.
"Sometime ago before the past CEO passed away being Tanner's pops, Tanner frequented the nightclub that Jessica sings at. Tanner is what you call a playboy of sorts. Thinking his looks and status could get him anything he ever wanted. Well, he and Jessica would talk to each Other from time to time but let's just say his ego was too big for his britches.", Herman told Roger who raised his eyebrow. The baby continued hoping Roger didn't ask that question about the Latter.
"Before I left the nightclub, I heard Jessica not sounding too happy with Tanner. You can guess why she was so upset at that Point. The next thing I knew, Bongo came in and roughed Tanner up after the playboy threw a fit. His entitlement got the better of him all because he was the son and heir to his father's fortune. And from then On, Jessica didn't want anything to do with his ass.", Herman finished the story in which Roger now understands the situation. The rabbit turned to his friend in concern before answering.
"Jeepers, I never knew that much of Tanner's history with Love Cups. Although, I did witness Jessica feeling unhappy to see him. But I did set the record with him though before I gave him the boot.", the rabbit said honestly.
"Glad you told him you and Jessica are taken. But as your friend, I suggest you be careful. Tanner doesn't take no for an answer and would try to get whatever he wants. No matter what.", Herman warned Roger.
"P-P-P-Please. I'll be very careful. Besides, Jessica is not interested in him anymore."

"I know that but Tanner is a guy you don't want to get mixed up with. Since he's a powerful heir to Cloverleaf, he'll stop at nothing to pull any strings to get what he wants.", Herman told Roger concerned. The rabbit sighed but happily decided to listen to his friend's advice. The baby smirked for a moment talking to his buddy.
"On the bright side, at Least you and Jessica are going steady. Benny was right about one thing, you and Jessica could do more than just a Kiss if you know what I mean.", Herman said having a naughty look on his face before he looked at one of the female blonde assistants still having that look On his face. Roger did a double take before facepalming at his friend.
"Herman, we're just fine at a steady pace. We'll get to home Plate in no time. For now, we're in 2nd base."
"Oh all right, Rog. Let's just hope you don't strand yourself there."

"Hey! What's that suppose to mean?", Roger asked looking at Herman like he'd lost his marbles. The baby chuckled to himself before he'd got himself together.
"Just kidding with ya, Rog. But on a serious note, I'm very happy for ya, pal. But remember, once you're at home base, the gloves come off if you know what I mean.", Herman teased as Roger groaned.
"Herman.", Roger blushed at the possibility in the stage Of romance. Raul then came to the boys signaling that the second filming of the day is coming up.
"All right, boys! The set is cleaned up and ready for the next filming. You boys be ready in 5 minutes! And Roger for the love Of Pete, don't choke on your lines again! I swear that you drive me to drink!", Raul said exasperated as Roger chuckled.
"Oh, Raul! Relax, everything's fine!"

"That's what worries me the most.", Raul muttered under his breath before he left to prepare for the filming. Herman turned to Roger before he shrugged.
"Let's just get ready to film so that way, you can plan to go 3rd base and then some with your Love Cups.", Herman chuckled before Roger shook his head at his friend.

At the pub in LA, Tanner and Beasley were sitting at a bar with the former moping around grousing. He finished hiss mug of beer before he grumbled and ranted. Beasley looked at his Older brother in concern as he drank his beer listening to the rant.

"I can't believe this! Who does she think she is?! Going out with a riffraff toon like that rabbit! What does she see in him anyway?!", Tanner ranted pounding his fists on the counter before the bartender sighed.
"Hey, cool It with that. You'll be Paying for a new table if you make a crater Out of it.", he warned Tanner. Beasley comforted his brother by Patting him on the back.
"At Least you tried. It's better to try than to never at all."

"The hell do you know?! I tried to make amends with Jessica but she shot me down like a duck in the sky.", Tanner snorted at Beasley feeling sorry for himself. Beasley had an idea seeing his brother's mug empty.
"More beer? It would sure loosen you up a Little.", Beasley urged as Tanner shook his head in disappointment.
"Oh what's the use? In this situation, beer never helps.", the businessman groaned but Beasley hating to see his brother miserable decided to give Out a pep talk.
"Tan, you got to pull yourself together. The Tanner I know would find a way to get what he wants. Heck, you're not afraid to get your hands dirty. You got to be more fearless, merciless and cruel.", Beasley told Tanner with the latter raising his eyebrow but smirked.
"Hmmm. You Know, Beasley. You're right. I shouldn't be moping around like this. In fact, I've been thinking about something."

"Like a dangerous pastime? Oh those were the days we'd-"
"No way In hell we're gonna go there. I was thinking of a way to split Jessica from that looney rabbit.", Tanner said evilly. Beasley grew curious wondering about the potential schemes though he was glad his brother was back to his old self.
"You mean Roger Rabbit?"
"Why yes, Beasley. Who else am I talking about?"
"Bugs Bunny? Oswald the Lucky Rabbit? Thumper?", Beasley told his brother the other famous cartoon rabbits as Tanner rolled his eyes exasperated.
"There's no way. There is no way that you could be my brother.", he groaned holding his head. He then continued after Beasley chuckled.
"Anyway, I have a plan to make Jessica my wife and cripple that foolish rabbit's spirit.", Tanner said as he Pulled Beasley to whisper the devious Plans. Beasley was intrigued by this as he grinned happily and they soon broke up the huddle.
"So that's your plan?"

"Yes. That's the One. But for now, get the bartender to order us another round. I feel like letting loose tonight.", Tanner said with an evil grin as Beasley happily nodded his head.
"I thought you'd never ask. Hey, Bill! Order another round for my brother and I! A tall mug this time! Oh and give us pretzels while you're at It.", the bumbling lackey said as the bartender nodded.
"I hope you guys take a ride home instead Of driving.", Bill said before serving the orders.
"Relax. That nonsensical sham of a cab Benny will pick us up. No need to worry.", Tanner said smirking as the Buchanan Brothers smirked evilly at their possible plan to break up Jessica and Roger.

Jessica was through with her song at the Ink and Paint Club and invited her friends, Lena Hyena, Clarice, Redd Hot Riding Hood, Clarabelle Cow, Clara Cluck and Betty Boop into her dressing room for a girl talk. Clarice smirked to Jessica and Red resting on the seat.
"We knocked everyone dead tonight, girls. Especially thanks to Jessica and Red.", the chipmunk said with the girls agreeing to the matter. Jessica and Red were kind Of modest of the attention they were getting.
"It's just like any other night, Clarice. Guys drooling and fantasize over us after a hard day at work. It's nothing new.", Red told Clarice with Jessica nodding.
"I agree with Red. Heck, not to mention Bongo having to rough up the patrons after we always have to remind them of space and boundaries.", Jessica said. Lena Hyena grinned twirling her hair before speaking her two cents.
"Girls, how can anything be nothing new? I think I can Knock every man's socks off.", Lena said only for Clarabelle to groan.
"Oh sure. Make them go head over heels and when I mean that, I mean they will run out the door without Bongo ever having to roughhouse them.", Clarabelle said rolling her eyes only for Jessica to sigh.
"Clarabelle, that's just mean. I know what you're getting at about Lena. Anyway, most Of us here did good on stage. Although, I had to push away one guy as usual. Saying the same Pickup lines.", Jessica told the girls as Clara Cluck clucked with Betty Boop interpreting.
"She says that's guys for you. Anyway, she asked of your date with Roger so far?", Betty asked.
"Oh do tell, Jessie. What juicy escapade you and your new beau were doing over the weekend?!", the gossipy bovine asked as Clara clucked something. Clarice translated the fat hen's language for a moment.
"Clara says to be careful talking about your date In front Of Clarabelle. She gossips too much.", the chipmunk said rolling her eyes at Clarabelle who acted mock hurt.
"Oh come now, Clarice. I can't help it if anything juicy and scandalous comes around.", the cow proudly stated with Betty shaking her head.
"Pay them no mind, Jess. The floor is all yours.", the flapper told Jessica as the Girls grew curious. Lena being eager was the first to answer.
"Did anything steamy happen? Were the gloves off at night?"
"No. At Least not yet. Anyway, Roger and I were just having a date at the park but it was almost ruined.", Jessica said to the girls as the girls were wondering what happened.
"Ruined how?", Betty asked.
"That jerk Tanner Buchanan came across me and Roger."
"You mean that rich guy of Cloverleaf? What happened this time?", Red asked. Clarabelle rubbed her hands in anticipation eager to catch a juicy story.
"Oh goody. A mysterious man in a Love triangle. Tell me more. Good for a gossip column in the Toontown newspapers.", Clarabelle giggled only for the girls to glare.
"Clarabelle!"

"What? You know you ladies love a good gossip.", Clarabelle defended herself but the ladies was not buying it. Jessica frowned giving the gossipy bovine a warning.
"Clarabelle, this cannot leave this room. It's Only between us girls. Got it?", the redhead said only for Lena to stop her for a moment.
"Wait a minute, jess. She might gossip on it anyway. Shouldn't we make her do an oath?", Lena said as Clarice nodded.
"Not a bad Idea, Lena. Clarabelle, put your hand over your heart.", the chipmunk told the bovine who was confused. She turned to Clarice with a frown On her face.
"Do I have to?"
"Yes you do. Now just do it.", Betty said with a smirk as the cow did as she was told. The girls all said in unison before Red lead the group.
"Okay, Clarabelle. Repeat after us.", Red commanded as the girls began to say the oath.
Girls: Snakes and snails and a lizard's head.
Clarabelle: Snakes and snails And a lizard's head. This is embarrassing.

Girls: If I gossip, I'll die 'til I'm dead.

Clarabelle: If I gossip, I'll die 'til I'm dead. Jessica, can you continue now before all Of you make me Look like a fool.
Jessica smirked as did the other girls before the redhead spoke her tale of the other day. Once she told the story of Tanner trying to ask her Out did the girls feel sympathy for her.
"Gosh, Tanner never takes no for an answer. Does he?", Betty asked with Jessica nodding. Clara then clucked with Lena translating for the chicken wondering about the rest Of the date with Roger.

"Clara asked if Roger's a good kisser?"

"You better believe it. He sure is.", Jessica smirked only for Clara to cluck about something. However, the chicken had a pervy smile On her face while clucking making Clarice and Clarabelle shake their heads frantically.
"Ewwww! Clara, no! None of that! None of that! You naughty girl!", Clarice told the hen whom the Latter clucked proudly. Jessica raised an eyebrow wondering what was up with Clara.
"What did she say? Something to do with me and Roger?", Jessica asked as Clarice nodded. Clarabelle giggled before trying to translate.
"I know what It is. She said-"
"Clarabelle!", the girls shushed the cow as Lena whispered something in Jessica's ear. The redhead blushed now knowing what Clara meant before answering.

"Oh not yet. But maybe later but sooner than you think.", Jessica winked with a foxy grin. Red smirked at her fellow ginger friend playfully smacking her.
"Okay, you minks. What's with the fox grin? If I were you, I'd give you some roleplay for the next time Roger comes over to your Place. It'll be a hit.", Red said with a cat grin only for Betty to sigh.
"Okay, girls. Settle down will ya? Anyway, I'm glad you and Roger are doing well for a couple months. He seems to be a great guy.", the flapper said genuinely. Jessica blushed and smiled thinking about Roger.
"I know. He makes me a laugh and I feel so free when I'm around him.", Jessica confessed feeling blissful.
"I feel the same way when I'm with Chip. He makes me laugh and he's quite a musician too.", Clarice told the redhead about her boyfriend Chip. Clara sighed clucking to Lena about something with a blush. The third redhead nodded wildly before answering her question.
"You mean that Foghorn Leghorn fellow? He's single.", Lena told Clara who clucked happily as Red raised her eyebrow.
"What's with Clara?", she asked.
"Oh nothing. Clara's got the hots for Foghorn. In fact, she dreams of one day snatching him up to her nest and—"
"BA-GAAAAAAAAWK!", Clara blushed and squawked at Clarabelle before Jessica shook her head at the cow.
"Clarabelle, what are we going to do with you? Anyway, I had the best date with Roger so far. In fact, in a couple weeks, there's going to be a gala in Toontown and hopefully Roger doesn't have any filming on that day.", Jessica said as Clarabelle beamed.
"You mean the Toontown Ball on the upcoming Saturday? Oh I'm looking forward to it. Some of us should find dates. I mean, Betty, Lena and myself doesn't have dates. Red has Droopy, Jess has Roger and Clara would Possibly have Foghorn Leghorn eating at the palm of her wing.", Clarabelle said giddily only for Clara to blush and clucked translating to "Clarabelle, if you don't shut up.".

"Girls, it's getting' late. We can have Our little girl talk tomorrow. I'll get Benny to pick us up.", Betty said only for Jessica to shake her head.

"No need. I drove my Packard over. I can take you guys home.", she offered. The girls were gathering their things before Leaving out of Jessica's dressing room to head home in Jessica's Packard. The ginger thought about Roger imagining a life with him for the rest of her immortal toon days. To say that she's happy is an understatement. Though she frowned a little bit running into Tanner earlier really got her skin crawling. Unlike Roger, Tanner is the Opposite for her as Jessica doesn't feel free for the Cloverleaf heir is a dime a dozen and no different than the patrons she entertains at the Ink and Paint Club. However, she manages to stay strong for at Least Roger and the girls has her back.

At Roger's place, the toon rabbit wrote in his Journal about his day with Jessica. He sighed In content as he expressed himself on paper thinking about the girl of his dreams. As he finished up his thoughts, he closed the Journal putting it back on the nightstand. He changed out of his Overalls and gloves and Into his PJs tucking himself in bed.
"Jeepers, what a day it has been. Especially yesterday. But I wonder what Herman meant about Tony or whatever his name is?", Roger wondered thinking about Tanner that tried to flirt with Jessica. The rabbit frowned pondering of the matter.
"I hope Tanner gets the message. I'm sure he can be an Outstanding fellow deep down. But anyway, time to hit the hay to be ready for another day. Hey, that rhymes!", Roger laughed to himself as he decided to head Off to sleep.

In the Buchanan Estate, the devious businessman Tanner read his book in his private study. He was deep In thought with no distractions until he heard somebody.

"Tan, are you In there?"
"YAAAAAAAAAIII!", Tanner yelped startled by Beasley as he fell Off his chair hitting his bottom. Beasley laughed like crazy as Tanner annoyed glared at his brother's antics.

"That was rich! Spooking you and you fell On your keister. What a riot!", Beasley laughed as Tanner sighed getting back on his chair. He deadpanned at his younger brother with his Peaceful moments interrupted.
"You better have a good excuse why you barge in on me like that. I was in a middle Of a good book until you rudely interrupted me.", Tanner told Beasley in a still deadpan mood.
"Relax, Tan. I Just came in here to remind you of that Toontown Gala they're having in a couple weeks. That sure will make your day.", Beasley explained to his Older brother as Tanner scoffed.
"You mean to tell me that this gala is hosted by a town full of idiotic crazed reprobates? You're wasting my time.", Tanner hissed but Beasley smirked.
"But Marvin Acme is hosting it and you know who's gonna be there?"
"Let me guess. Mickey Mouse? Superman? Heckle and Jeckle? Out with It!"
"I'm glad you're intrigued, Tan. It seems that Jessica Crupnik is rumored to be there.", Beasley said as Tanner raised his eyebrows with some hope left in them.
"Really? Jessica's going to be there?"
"Of course, Tan. She's going to be there but Roger's going to be there as well.", Beasley said only for Tanner to get hostile.
"Roger Rabbit?! You mean he's going to be there?!"

"Yes. That dirty low down scoundrel who ruined and Humiliated you at the park. Gotta admit it was funny!"
"ENOUGH!", Tanner barked slamming his fists on the desk scaring Beasley. The lackey sheepishly grinned as he defended himself.
"Relax, Tan. You forgot about Marvin Acme displaying an important jewel being the Blue Pearl at the gala. What If we make It seem like Roger stole the Blue Pearl?", Beasley asked hoping his suggestion would make his brother intrigued. Tanner smirked evilly at this idea and smiled at his brother.
"Not a bad idea, Beasley. For Once you used your brain. If we paint Roger Rabbit, the rising toon star as a thief, then Jessica would see right through him and realize he's not the One for her."

"But how much of an Impact would it do?"
"A Lot, Beasley. Think about It. Marvin Acme created this wonderful town for all toons from Disney, MGM, Fleischer Cartoons, Universal, Warner Bros. and the whole enchilada."
"But I thought you said the town is full Of—"
"Nix that! Anyway, Marvin Acme is one of the well-known powerful figures in Los Angeles and California itself. He's in cahoots with many of the studios every toon works for."
"Like RK Maroon Studios?"

"Exactly. Now you're catching On, Beasley. In business, reputation is everything and show biz is no different than Cloverleaf. If Roger were to be painted as a criminal thief stealing from the one man that offered toons like him a home, then he'll be out of the Job and blackballed from having any other Job from competitive studios for the rest Of his pathetic toon life. And not Only that, Jessica will have no choice but to date me and the rest is history.", Tanner said evilly displaying his reasons and ambitions to claim Jessica as his. Beasley gasped at the change of plots and grinned evilly.
"Oh that is despicable. Oh I love it!"
"Glad you do, Beasley. But Let's retire for the night. We'll have plenty of time to pull off a heist and frame that looney rabbit once and for all.", Tanner said before the brothers laughed evilly throughout the night counting down the days until the gala where Tanner will get his revenge on the rabbit.

A/N: And that's chappy 4, folks. I included a main antagonist whose an OC based Off of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast and Ratigan from the Great Mouse Detective. Also, his brother Beasley is inspired by LeFOu from Beauty and the Beast and Fidget from The Great Mouse Detective being a bumbling lackey. They'll be trying to make Roger's life a living hell In this story.
Now for the cameos so far, Woody Woodpecker from his namesake cartoon from Universal, Gabby who is a character in the animated feature film Gulliver's Travels from the Golden Age of Cartoons made by Max Fleischer Cartoons who also had his namesake shorts. Feel free to check it Out on YouTube.

Now Red Hot Riding Hood is from Tex Avery shorts by MGM who is the inspiration for Jessica Rabbit and I also decided to give Lena Hyena some love in this fic and we'll see more of her in future chapters.

Now the Disney cameos are Clarabelle Cow and Clara Cluck from the Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphonies shorts. Thumper and Bixby from Bambi is mentioned by Roger as his uncle and aunt respectively. Yes, Roger did say Thumper is his uncle in the film but I feel Like he should've mentioned Bixby for she is his aunt afgter all. Bixby is the confirmed name of Thumper's mate from Bambi where she sung that Spring Is Here song throughout the movie.
Enough of my rambles but I gotta say thanks for being Patient as I write and brainstorm this fic to make it better as I go.
