Hey, guys. I'm back to update on When Roger Met Jessica with another chapter. I like to thank you guys for supporting my fic by reading, reviewing, following and favoriting the story. It means a lot, guys. And shout out to LadyShadow92 for reviewing last year. Also shoutouts to MenyDragon5 and CallieCature for they make the best Roger Rabbit fics. And after CallieCature made an origin story of how Roger and Jessica met, I figured that I make my take as if it were an actual Disney movie. Oh and Roger Rabbit's in the new Chip and Dale movie but I hope he's more than just a cameo. That would be awesome.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit belongs to Disney, "Lost Mind" belongs to Diana Krall and "Lugen (Slow Hot Wind)" belongs to Henry Mancini. Let's get it.
=====Chapter 5: A Lost Mind and A Slow Hot Wind=====
It was a workday for Roger and Herman being that Raul gone on a tirade. The reason being was that Roger was supposed to get stars and not birds Over his head after Herman whacks him with a frying pan. Other than that, the filming turned out okay but Roger's face proved to be otherwise. Herman rolled his eyes in annoyance watching his buddy futz up for the umpteenth time.
"Roger, I don't know what to do with you! You're suppose to have stars over your head! Not birds!", Raul yelled fuming at the poor rabbit. Herman muttered not surprised to the point that he got use to it.
"P-P-P-Please! We can do it again! I can display stars! Just give us one more time!",
"No, Roger! We've been filming all day and I'm tired! Just get your lines right, Roger! I need a drink!", Raul growled stomping away tired of Roger's unintentional mishaps. Herman turned to Roger with an exasperated groan while smoking his cigar.
"Rog, this is the umpteenth time you have trouble having stars! I don't know what to do with you! Hey, are you listening to me?! Rog!", Herman frowned waving his hands in front of Roger's face trying to get his attention. However, the rabbit saw employees with their kids as it was the day the staff brings them to workday. Roger's ears were a Little slumped down causing the gruff baby to display some concern.
"Hey, Rog. Are you okay? If it's about your lines, don't worry about it. Okay?"
"No, it's not that. Hey, Herman.", Roger turned to his pal as Herman raised an eyebrow wondering what the rabbit was worrying about. Roger rubbed his ears in thought being nervous before he got It off his chest.
"Do you see your parents before becoming a star?", Roger wondered as Herman gasped but shrugged. He was honest with his rabbit buddy smoking his cigar before handing Out an answer.
"Can't say I remember, pal. What came of your question, Rog? Is it because of "Bring Your Kids To Workday?", Herman shrugged but Roger shook his head.
"No. It's just that I couldn't put my finger around the question of where my real parents are. I swore I could remember but I just can't. I wish I knew somehow. Especially if things go well between me and Jessica, I would certainly want to introduce her to them.", Roger confessed. Herman now understood why Roger was feeling the way he is. The baby placed his tiny hands on the rabbit's arm with an assuring look.
"Rog, I didn't know you were feeling like this. I saw you feeling down seeing staff with their kids today laughing and sharing memories."
"Not only that but I saw kids with their parents at ice cream shops, parks and even at the school buses where parents hugged their kids. I felt sad for some reason. I mean, my uncle Thumper and Aunt Bixby were the closest to being my parents raising me as If I were their son. But sometimes, I just wanted to know the truth of what happened.", the rabbit explained to his pal with a mixture of wonder and worry. Roger knew first hand that Thumper and Bixby were his uncle and aunt but there was a missing piece to the puzzle on who his parents were and whether they still remember him. All these questions wrapped around his furry head with no hesitation. Herman sighed and assured the rabbit of his troubles.
"Rog, of all the years we've known each other, I sometimes wonder who your parents and where they are. But I bet somewhere, they're thinking about you and hoping for the best. I'm sure one day, you'll meet them one day. Just let the pieces fall into place. Besides, I bet your uncle, aunt and cousins are proud of you anyway. Becoming a star and all.", Herman chuckled. Roger felt a little better as his smile and ears perked up.
"Thanks, Herman. I needed that."
"Ah, I just hate seein' ya mopin' down in the dumps like that. Say, aren't you visiting Jessica at the Ink and Paint for a concert tonight?", Herman smirked causing the rabbit to blush profusely. Roger then grinned showing the Invitation showing an image of Jessica blowing kisses with the perfume sprayed on it. Roger smelled the letter as it stuck to his nose. Herman shook his head gently taking the invite off his nose.
"All right, knucklehead. Keep that up and that letter's goin' up ya nose, bub."
"P-P-Please. That's the smell of love on that invite. How I'm lookin' forward to seein' Love Cups again.", Roger grinned. Herman did a double take before his jaws dropped.
"Love Cups?"
"Yep. Ya better believe it, buddy.", the rabbit smirked causing Herman to chuckle leading both to the exit of the studio.
"Let's just go before I get a diaper rash.", he grumbled exiting the door with Roger following suit.
=====In town======
Roger and Herman were out in the evening waiting for Benny as toons and Humans walk by. Two toon cats fought in comical fashion crashing into trashcans startling other people. Herman spotted Tanner and Beasley leaving the shops glaring at the duo.
"Hey, Rog. Heads up. It's that Tanner guy from days ago. I don't like that ugly mug.", Herman groused. Roger smiled and Patted the baby on the head.
"P-P-Please, pal. I'm sure Tony and I are at a mutual understanding. He knows Jess and I are together.", Roger assured. Herman scoffed at his friend's naivete.
"Rog, that Tanner's too persistent for his own good. Just be careful around that guy. I swear he and that bumbling idiot beside him give me the heebie-da-jeebies.". the baby warned puffing his cigar. Tanner and Beasley were watching the toons as the older Buchanan grimaced with a frown at Roger. He turned to his lackey with a sneer on his face.
"Just look at them, Beasley. That bucktoothed fool with the woman I use to love. Seeing him makes me sick."
"Then don't look at him. Owww!", Beasley yelped after Tanner hits him on the head for the remark made. The businessman rolled his eyes at his brother's stupidity.
"Beasley, you better be lucky that I'm in a better mood than what I was days prior. The thought of your stupidity and that rabbit sickens me."
"I know what would make it all better, Tan.", Beasley offered to his brother still grousing. The older brother scoffed wondering what it was.
"Do tell, Dr. Beasley. What is your cure for my ailments you normally cause me every time?", Tanner grumbled.
"Jessica's performing a special song tonight. It's dedicated to you says the rumors.", Beasley informed his brother In which Tanner's eyes glimmered with hope and determination. He smirked to his brother ruffling his hair.
"Is that so? Well thankfully I have time to go to the Ink and Paint to see the object of my affection onstage dedicating a song to yours truly. For someone so dopey, you at least did something useful.", he smirked.
"Hey. What's that suppose to mean?", Beasley grumbled noticing the jab towards him with that insult. Tanner ignored him as he urged Beasley to follow him. The duo approached Roger and Herman in which the baby glared proving his dislike for the rich man.
"And what do you two jerks want? Come to bother my pal or something? If so, you got another thing comin', bub!", Herman spat causing Beasley to tease him.
"Aww. Da wittle baby acting tough for his wabbit fwend. Oh and cigars aren't for babies.", the bumbling oaf teased Herman in which he balled his tiny fists.
"Oh yeah? You wanna ring that up with me again, chump?!", the baby challenged. Roger and Tanner watched the two bicker as Beasley smirked.
"Oh I wouldn't dare challenge you, kid.", the oaf sneered as Herman scoffed.
"Pfft. Pity, why not?", he spat but Tanner stopped the bickering before it went any further.
"Beasley, stop bickering with that baby!", he barked causing Beasley to do as he was told. Roger had a frown asking his rival.
"Herman's right, Tony. What is it that you want anyway?", the rabbit crossed his arms waiting for an answer as Tanner did a fake smile but went along with his plan to drop Roger's guard.
"Oh, Roger. We went on the wrong foot the other day.", he explained.
"Hmph. Sure you did. Yowch!", Beasley yelped after Tanner elbowed him to shut up. Roger frowned a Little of how Beasley was treated but ignored it.
"Oh ignore my brother. He's quite eccentric. Anyway, I evaluated myself after what Jessica told me of you and her in a relationship. I was a fool to try and ruin a great romance.", he explained.
"Where are you getting at, pal?", Roger raised an eyebrow while Herman watched the Buchanan brothers carefully.
"Let's just put this behind us and shake on it. Okay? Truce?", Tanner offered putting his hand out to Roger. Roger grinned putting his glove out but Beasley squeaked seeing something in his hand as Herman grinned to himself.
"Tan! Wait! The rabbit's got—"
"Beasley, quit your babbling! We're just shaking hands. Right, Roger?", Tanner turned to Roger with a sly smile. Roger grinned as he extended his hand.
"Yes, sirree! Put 'er there!", the rabbit offered. However, Tanner was unaware of a little snag in his plan. Once the hands touched and gripped, a jolting sensation went through the businessman causing him to babble and yelp falling to the ground. Herman laughed himself silly as Beasley gasped helping his brother up after a shock from a joy buzzer. Suddenly, Benny pulled up after Herman stuck his thumb out indicating he and Roger need to get out of there.
"Hey, fellas! Hop In cause my meter's runnin' up! Oh and what the hell happened to those two?", Benny wondered spotting Tanner dusting himself off with Beasley shaking his head.
"Oh nothin'. Let's just go to the Ink and Paint Club.", Herman told his destination as Roger tried to climb Into the driver's seat.
"Okay. I'll drive us there In a Jiffy.", Roger laughed as Benny frowned not liking the idea.
"Rog, how many times do I have to tell you?! I'm the cab! I'm driving!", the cab groused. Herman glared yanking Roger by the arms to the backseat.
"Rog, you long-eared bonehead! Get your butt back here!"
"P-P-Please, fellas! I'm just eager to see Love Cups.", Roger whined with Herman and Benny sighing at their lovestruck friend. They soon drove off to their destination. Another taxi came up as Tanner growled at Beasley.
"I told you to wait but you didn't listen. I was right and you're—OWWW! OWWW!", Beasley yelped as Tanner drags him to the cab In a foul mood. The cabbie shrugged as the duo went inside the vehicle. Tanner told him the destination and they took off.
======Ink and Paint Club=====
Roger and Herman arrived at the club as the rabbit hopped over to Jessica's dressing room. Herman didn't bother going with him for he wanted to smoke his cigars in the corner. The rabbit hopped over to a door that read
"Jessica Crupnik" On the star plate.
"Jeepers, this is the place.", the rabbit knocked on the door waiting for a few seconds until his girlfriend opened it. Roger's eyes turned to hearts seeing Jessica looking lovely as ever in her trademark outfit.
"Oh, Jessica! You look as lovely as ever.", he beamed. Jessica giggled picking Roger up in her arms kissing and cuddling him tenderly.
"Oh, Honey Bunny. You say the nicest things. I'm glad you made it. How did your filming go today?", Jessica cooed walking in her dressing room shutting the door. The ginger sat in a comfortable chair stroking the rabbit.
"Oh the usual. I was filming about being a family man to some o the bunnies. Then a Baby Herman cartoon but I messed up my lines.", Roger sheepishly told Jessica. The ginger grew curious of what happened.
"How did you do that?"
"I was suppose to have stars over my head but birds came out instead. Raul always gets on me for the smallest things. He's such a real stick in the mud.", the rabbit pouted. Jessica understood her boyfriend's gripes and kissed him On the nose.
"Oh don't worry, Honey Bunny. You did your best in your shorts. I'm sure you can produce stars eventually. By the looks of your shows, they're pretty funny in the end.", she encouraged. Roger grinned but was curious with One question.
"Jess, I'd want to ask you something."
"Hmm? What's on your mind?", Jessica wondered. Roger rubbed the back of his head deep in thought before telling his girlfriend of what he told Herman at the studio.
"I can't remember at the top Of my head for certain. But I'm sure your parents are somewhere. They'll never forget their own long lost child.", Jessica smiled hugging her boyfriend.
"I suppose. I wish I could Introduce you to my family one day. They're sure to like you. You'll love 'em. Especially my uncle Thumper's sense of humor. I got it all from him.", Roger beamed with Jessica giggling at the tender moment. She caressed his cheeks in which Roger loves.
"I would love to meet your uncle and your family. But now I know for sure where you got your sense of humor from. Thumper must've taught you for sure.", the redhead was Impressed. The two enjoyed each other's embrace as Jessica sighed In bliss. The peaceful content on their faces were evident of them enjoying each other's company despite all the slapstick chaos that went onstage in the club. Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted their train of thought.
"Jeepers! Who the heck goes there?!", Roger yelled at the door not liking whoever it was that ruined their tender moment. A deep gruff voice bellowed from the other side.
"All right, Fuzzface! Get out of Miss Crupnik's dressing room already! She's comin' on in a few minutes!", the voice belonging to none other than Bongo said threatening Roger. The rabbit frowned offended pointing at the door.
"Who ya callin' Fuzzface, pal?", Roger smirked with Jessica concerned for her boyfriend. Bongo growled from the other end threatening him.
"You come out or I'll—I'll—I'll break down the door!", the gorilla annoyed shouted as Roger shook his head.
"Relax, pal! I'm goin or I'm a monkey's uncle.", Roger joked causing Jessica to stifle a giggle. Once Roger opened the door, Bongo glared at the rabbit pointing his big finger in the direction to his seat. Jessica came to Roger kissing him On the lips waving to him.
"knock 'em dead, Love Cups.", the rabbit encouraged as he blushed at the nickname he gave to the redhead. Thankfully, Jessica loved it as Roger left hopping to his seat. Jessica walked in the direction to the stage where her audience awaits her. Bongo just huffed and returned to his post.
"What's takin' that bonehead so long?! When I get my mitts on him, I'll nail his feet to the floor! That's what I'm gonna do!", Herman groused impatiently as Roger popped up scaring him nearly dropping his cigar. The rabbit chuckled sitting in his seat at their table. Herman glared angrily at his friend crossing his arms.
"What took ya so Long? That gorilla Bongo nearly flattened you for holding Jessica hostage!", the baby grumbled ignoring the act with Taz spinning doing gibberish acts before leaving the stage. Roger grinned as Lena Hyena filled in for Betty giving their orders.
"Hey, Lena. I didn't know you work here.", Roger greeted as he received his carrot juice. The gangly redhead smiled giving Herman his liquor.
"Oh I do. It's Okay so far being a waitress and a performer.", she grinned. Herman facepalmed not liking the Idea of Lena onstage. Last time that she did, some of the patrons were scarred for life.
"Your girlfriend's coming up onstage In a bit. You're excited?"
"Oh yes, p-p-p-please. I'm always excited when Love Cups is onstage. She sings like an angel.", he gushed as Lena smiled at the jovial rabbit. She thanked the toons before tending to another customer who was rude.
"Ah, young Love.", Lena said to herself happy for Jessica and Roger. Soon, the lights dimmed a bit announcing Jessica's presence to the stage. The applause went off as the curtains revealed the lovely spitfire of a redhead as her dress sparkled. The toon crows readied their instruments for a special song as Tanner and Beasley were in a corner undetected or so they thought.
"I'd like to dedicate this song to a former flame I use to know years ago. I won't say his name but he definitely knows who he is.", Jessica said with some sass beginning her song.
"Huh? What's she talking about?", Tanner wondered as Beasley gulped nervously.
======Lost Minds by Diana Krall======
Jessica: If you could be so kind to help me find my mind.
I like to thank you in advance.
Know this before you start, my soul's been torn apart.
I lost my mind in a wild romance.
My future is my past
It's memory will last
I live to love the days gone by
Each day this becomes and goes like the one before
My mind is lost til the day I die.
The crowd cheered as Jessica sings her heart Out with Tanner a Little flabbergasted. Beasley drank his beer in bliss unaware of his brother's worries.
"Beasley, I thought this song was something good about me! What the hell is this?!"
"Shhh. The song's sstill goin'.", Beasley shushed Tanner as Jessica continued On her song. Many of the toons eyed Tanner and some of the human patrons thinking it was Tanner who's the former flame though it was just the rumor.
Jessica: Words would fail me if I try to describe him
Though I know he's not what he should've been
He was the devil with a face of an angel
He was cruel and sweet, sweet and cruel as homemade sin
"Sweet as homemade sin? What cheek!", Tanner grimaced as Beasley snickered in a drunken fashion. Herman smirked at Tanner's priceless face while Roger got confused.
"Devil with a face of an angel? I sure don't want to meet him in a back alley.", Roger shuddered.
"Me too, Rog. Me too.", Herman nodded in agreement.
Jessica: If you could be so kind
To help me find my mind
I'd like to thank you in advance
Know this before you start
My soul's been torn apart
I lost my mind in a wild romance
The patrons cheered and hooted at the sex symbol watching her dance and sway to the music conveying her true emotions of a past romance getting off her chest. The crows played a mean instrumental while Tanner ordered another round of liquor while Beasley had a great time.
"Jumpin' jeepers, Herman. I wonder who the unlucky fellow Jessica's singin' about?", Roger wondered drinking his carrot juice as Herman shrugged.
"Beats me. But probably a poor schmuck gettin' roasted. Ha!", Herman smirked. After the instrumental, Jessica finished up the final stretches of the song.

The crowd cheered at the end of the song while Roger was impressed at his girlfriend's performance. Herman took a swig of his drink while Beasley clapped for the redhead. Tanner was on edge but his brother elbowed him in the ribs.
"Relax, Tan. It's just a song. I'm certain it's definitely not you she's singin' about. -hic-", Beasley assured as he slurred a little whooping but Jessica wasn't finished yet. She smiled spotting Roger in the audience.
"thank you, everyone. Before I go, I have a special song for something anew that reignited my hope for love. I dedicate this one to him.", Jessica said knowing she dedicated the song to Roger. Herman got the hint real quick that It was for his hyperactive rabbit buddy.
"Hey, Rog. She's got It bad for ya. Aren't you a lucky rabbit. You carry it wherever you go.", Herman smirked as Roger was confused.
"Carry what? I'm empty-handed. See?", Roger showed his empty hands as Herman facepalmed and deadpan.
"You're walking on them.", the gruff baby snorted. Roger was confused but shrugged It off as Jessica began her next song as the crows readied their instruments.
======Slow Hot Wind aka Lugan by Henry Mancini=======
Jessica harmonizes in her sultry voice as the crows jammed On their instruments. The patrons clapped with Tanner in a hopeful manner. After Jessica harmonized to the intro of the song, she did her thing.
Jessica: A slow hot wind
(harmonizing)
A Slow Hot Wind
There In the shade
Like a cold drink waiting
He set with fire in His eyes just waiting.
Jessica looked in Roger's way and seductively mesmerized him as images of flames were in Roger's pupils. The rabbit gushed with a heart shaped by his ears. Clarabelle, Clara Cluck, Clarice and Red were watching this unfold.
"wow, that girl's got it bad for the rabbit.", Clarabelle noted.
"Ba-gawk", Clara clucked in agreement. Clarice and Red were impressed by their friend's ever growing desire for the rabbit. Red smirked at Roger entranced by her sister's sultry performance.
"Jessie, you minx, you.", Red teased.
Jessica: His gaze swept over me now
Like a slow hot wind.
Some days it's too warm to fight
A slow hot wind
(harmonizing and dancing)
There in the shade
Like a cold drink waiting
He set the fire in his eyes just waiting.
Some days it's too warm to fight
A slow hot wind.
Jessica eyed and flirted at Roger though the patrons were gushing unaware of the vixen's intended target. Roger nearly spilt his umpteenth round of carrot juice gazing at Jessica. Herman hurriedly moved the glass away before that even happened.
Jessica: A slow, slow hot wind
There in the shade
Like a cold drink waiting
He set the fire in his eyes
Just waiting
Some days it's too warm to fight
A slow hot wind.
After a moment, the song ends with Jessica blowing a kiss to the crowd. However, a red lip mark fired like an arrow. Red and the other girls saw this as the long ranged kiss hits Roger square on the mark making him blush, walking On air in Place causing Herman to look up alarm.
"Rog, what the hell?! Snap Out Of it and get down! Get down before you-"
THUD!
"Crash. Oh great. What am I going to do with you?", the baby groaned as Clarice went up to their table.
"Is Roger okay?"
"Yeah, toots. That hopeless romantic went down for the count.", Herman nonchalantly told the curvy chipmunk pointing at a lovesick bunny. Jessica quickly went to the commotion and smiled picking her Honey Bunny up.
"Oh Roger. You're so silly.", she cooed smooching his lips.
"All right, lovebird. Worry about clocking out first before you try to "eat" him.", Red teased. Jessica's face blushed like a tomato at this with the girls laughing and Herman shrugging.
"Red. You tease too much.", Jessica giggled. Tanner meanwhile was steamed ready to stomp near the scene but Bongo grabbed the man hard.
"Going somewhere, chump?", the bouncer gorilla snorted getting in Tanner's grill as Beasley watched. Tanner spat in anger not wanting to hear it.
"Listen, you overgrown chimp! Of course I do! I'm going to confront that bucktooth weasel and that gruff little tot! So get out of my way and go have a banana.", Tanner sneered but Bongo had enough and threw him like a shot put champion out of the club and onto the street. Beasley laughed and slurred wobbling on his way to his brother Outside.
"Someone call a cab for those two."m, Bongo said to the penguin waiter who honked in agreement. The show was over as patrons exited the club enjoying the show. A toon cab picked up Tanner and Beasley as they head off to the mansion.
At Jessica's house, Roger woke up on the couch trying to gather his bearings with his vision regaining. He looked around at his surroundings as it was morning. However, a sound startled him being a door opening. He hopped up startled as he babbled.
"What? What happened?! Where am I?! Ugh!", Roger babbled before falling face first onto the carpet. A gentle hand belonging to Jessica wearing a purple nightwear stroked Roger's fur.
"Roger, baby. It's me. Don't be scared.", Jessica cooed as Roger calmed down wiping a sweat from his brow.
"Morning, Love Cups. Where am I?", he wondered.
"You passed out at the club. So I carried you to my home. Hope you don't mind.", she explained. Roger smiled onto his feet thanking his woman.
"Jeepers, thanks a million. I gotta say ya knocked everyone dead last night.", Roger complimented. Jessica kissed him all over making the rabbit thump his feet in bliss.
"Why thank you, Honey Bunny. As a thank you for coming to my performance, I made you breakfast.", she purred as Roger was excited.
"Wowsers. That does sound great. Where is it?", Roger wondered with Jessica giggling.
"In the kitchen, silly.", she giggled guiding the rabbit to the said area for something to eat. Each had pancakes, fruit and coffee to start the day. Roger enjoyed his meal as his smile went to his woman.
"Jeepers, Love Cups. You know how to cook pretty well. This tastes good. O gonna eat and eat until I burst.", Roger beamed in which Jessica giggled loving the bunny's joyous infectious sense of wit and humor.
"I try. But I'm glad you like it, Honey Bunny.", she cooed sipping on her coffee.
"Ya know what they say or rather my uncle Thumper, a way to a rabbit's heart is his stomach. And this hits the spot.", Roger chuckled causing Jessica to laugh with both doing it. The lovebirds enjoyed each other's company for the day without any interruptions from the Ink and Paint or RK Maroon Studios. It's perfect for the both of them as they decided to cuddle on the bed for awhile.
Meanwhile at the Cloverleaf office, men in business suits were In the room with Tanner and Beasley as they had matters to discuss. The older Buchanan wrinkled his nose with stress related to last night's events. Beasley felt unfazed for he wasn't worried One bit. The right hand man of the brothers spoke up as he had to tell the news to the heir.
"Mr. Buchanan, you are aware of the Toontown Gala that Marvin Acme is throwing in two weeks, yes?", the man asked Tanner. The young heir snorted being snooty.
"Of course I have! I'm not a fool.", Tanner spat rubbing his head. Beasley covered for his brother to diffuse the situation.
"Oh don't worry, sir. My brother had a rough night. Got in a fight and got rejected by the— OWW!", Beasley yelped rubbing his side where Tanner punched him at. The older brother growled wanting Beasley to stop.
"Just continue before I Hurt him!", the heir commanded. The right hand continued on with the meeting.
"Very well, sir. The reason he's throwing the gala is due to the will he wrote for the toons. Since he accomplished in getting his affairs in order, he planned a gala to celebrate the occasion. It's all over the news, sir.", he explained. Tanner's eyes were in curiosity as he wanted to pry some answers.
"Hmmm. So that's why he's throwing the gala in Toontown. But who are the beneficiaries and the conditions?", Tanner wondered. After what the man told the brothers, Tanner's face was in a mixture of shock, bewilderment and anger.
"What? Is that true?! You're joking! Please tell me you are joking!", he ranted as the right hand sighed.
"I wish I were, sir. But unfortunately it's true. What we can do is support his decision once we head to the gala. I'm afraid there's no other way.", he sadly said to Tanner. The heir couldn't believe what he's hearing.
"First, that simpleton Roger Rabbit stole the love of my life and now that old coot's gone senile. No matter. I'll just wait it out. Mr. Turner, you are dismissed.", Tanner said as the right hand Turner took his leave. Once he did, Tanner turned to Beasley with a scowl.
"Beasley, we now have a reason to sabotage the gala and frame Roger Rabbit for it. Heh-heh-heh.", he grinned evilly. Beasley raised his eyebrows in confusion.
"Run that by me on the plan?", the oaf wondered. Tanner grumbled under his breath.
"Beasley, you idiot. There's no way. There's no way you came from our father's loins. Anyway, remember when I said Roger won't be trusted and will be blacklisted? Well, toons are unpredictable creatures and we always have to be careful around them? Well, if we paint Roger to be the bad guy then that old coot Acme will lose trust for toons and write them off the will and give it to Cloverleaf aka us. Then we can offer Jessica something she can never refuse.", he chuckled evilly. Beasley tilted his head in confusion.
"Offer her what? Money?"
"No, stupid! A hand in marriage. An opportunity to have everything she desires at my side.", Tanner said as Beasley nodded.
"Oh. So that's how we're going to do it. But we have two weeks."
"I know that, Imbecille. By that time, we'll have our plans in order and rid that rabbit and those silly drunken reprobates once and for all.", Tanner rubbed his hands together and chuckled with a dark smirk on his face. Beasley just chuckled with his brother with a reason more specific than ever to sabotage the gala.
A/N: And that's Chapter 5 of When Roger Met Jessica, folks. We now know more details to Tanner's diabolical plan yet. As for the will itself, it'll all be explained in another chapter dedicated to Marvin Acme and his intimate connection with the One thing he loves, cares and cherishes being the beloved Toontown. It may seem like a filler but this is important. Especially when the will is the focal point of the movie and why Roger was used as the fall guy. That way, we'll see Acme and his friend who is the lawyer visit Toontown to file the will. Don't worry, folks. We'll be back to Roger and friends soon enough.
Surprisingly, hardly any new cameos. But they'll be some in later chapters. Anyway, LilMancub out and I'll see y'all in the next one.
Oh and check out the songs that were in this fic on YouTube or Google them. It's Lugen aka Slow Hot Wind by Henry Mancini and Lost Mind by Diana Krall.
