Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Horde of Horrors. Enjoy the 1200-word chapter. I don't own She-Ra, Mattel and a few others do.
Brennus watched a group of Horde Robots work on the area. A squad of Horde soldiers aimed their blasters around the room.
"Spyder's silk is stronger than a diamond." Brennus said as he heard Catra approach him. "They aren't escaping… But their going to be on their guard next time." Brennus said while he leaned on the wall next to her, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Yeah, but we won." Catra said to which Brennus hummed. "Hordak isn't going to be able to mock me for this." Catra said as she looked over the Horde's troops.
"I sense some hostility between you and the Horde's ruler." Brennus said and brushed off his armor with amusement. "Still, we have won this battle. The rebels will not return, this area has no strategic worth, nor anything of value without the relic." Brennus put in while letting out a hum.
"You use a lot of big words to say something simple." Catra said which got a shrug.
"Used to being a prince back home." Brennus said before his eyes narrowed. "Most people think Vorutains are brutes, simple minded animals… Skeletor is doing more then trying to conquer my home, he's destroying centuries of art, music, culture. I'll kill him for that, for what he's doing to my people." Brennus said, clenching his fists.
"You know the horde destroys things as well, yeah?" Catra said which got a hum.
"Everyone destroys things." Brennus responded while closing his eyes. "The rebels destroy the Horde; we destroy the rebels. I'm mad because their destroying my people, including the innocents, noncombatants. Does the horde kill people just for being in their way?" Brennus asked to which Catra was silent.
"You know the horde isn't the good guys, right?" Catra asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Good and evil are concepts, Catra." Brennus responded and crossed his arms. "The rebels believe the Horde are monsters for destroying them… Just like I believe Skeletor is a monster for my own reasons. Everyone thinks they are the hero… There are no heroes in war, almost every warrior in battle is a monster in some way. There's bound to be something the princesses did that make them monsters to the Horde." Brennus added to which Catra was again silent.
That was a fair point, nobody could really claim moral high ground in war. The princesses had no qualms about destroying the Horde utterly, and the Horde had no qualms about laying waste to their kingdoms.
"Will your dad be, ok?" Catra asked which got a raised eyebrow from Brennus.
"My father is Voruta's best warrior." Brennus said and nodded. "Even better then me. Battle is his blood, war his wisdom. But to be blunter? Yes, I'm sure he will drive Skeletor off world. He's a skilled warrior and strategist. He used to train me and my brother when we were kids." Brennus said to which Catra raised an eyebrow.
"Your brother is a lot like Scorpia." Catra added and leaned next to him. "Really… Peppy, and stuff." Catra said, gesturing with her claws.
She turned to Brennus, she was almost 6 foot, but Brennus seemed slightly taller then even Adora was. She felt small, she HATED being small.
"He doesn't like fighting." Brennus said to which Catra hummed. "He's never been a warrior, he's not from Voruta. Dad said he arrived on a crashed shuttle. Dad raised him since he's a kid. I believe dad said he's from a species called the 'Arachna'." Brennus said and tapped his fingers.
"And him not being a warrior?" Catra said as Brennus hummed. "Doesn't bug you guys as warriors?" Catra said and was greeted by a shrug.
"Spyder is my brother, Catra." Brennus said and closed his eyes. "I love him like family. Family comes before ANYTHING. I don't care if he's not some great warrior prince like me, he's my brother and that's more then enough for me." Brennus said before one of the soldiers approached them.
"Lord Hordak would like to speak to both of you back at the Fright Zone." The soldier reported to which Brennus hummed.
"And who will oversee Entrapta's operations here?" Brennus asked and raised an eyebrow.
"We're leaving for now." The soldier put in which caused Brennus to hum. "Hordak says we got everything we needed for now." The soldier said to which Brennus and Catra glared at each other.
"Fine, pack it up." Catra ordered and shook her head. "If those stupid princesses control this city when we come back? I'm going to scream." Catra muttered as she leapt down from the ledge and walked towards the skiffs.
"Somehow I doubt Hordak is that tactically suicidal." Brennus said before following after the Horde officer.
"At this rate? I somewhat doubt it." Catra muttered as Brennus raised his eyebrow.
"Really, who?" Brennus questioned while the duo boarded a Horde Tank. "If the Horde is slowly taking over this planet? You don't think he'd understand how to deal with things?" Brennus questioned as Catra rolled her eyes.
"And what do you think about Brightmoon?" Catra questioned to which Brennus turned to look to her. "The capital of the princesses." Catra asked as Brennus hummed once more.
"If the princesses want to spend the rest of the war hiding behind their kingdom?" Brennus questioned and shook his head once more. "Then we're conquer it like the rest of the planet. They have weaknesses, cracks in their armor that we can chip away at… Besides, I'm starting to think you ENJOY combat as much as a Vorutain." Brennus put in as Catra crossed her legs under her.
"You make a fair point." Catra said and Brennus hummed.
"And you make a smart commander for the Horde." Brennus said and crossed his arms. "And it makes me rather curious about how you became commander of that empire…." Brennus added before closing his eyes.
Catra said nothing, content to simply think about how well the war was going. Adora had won Brightmoon? They had won here, and it was going to hit her like a mountain of bricks she had lost.
"That reminds me." The pilot of the craft said to which the prince and commander blinked. "Lord Hordak said something about both of you working under Catra. I think you guys are becoming Force Captains." The pilot put in as Brennus turned to Catra with interest.
"Force Captain?" Brennus questioned, curiosity painting his tone. "What is a force captain?" Brennus questioned as Catra grinned, her cat like fangs exposed.
"Funny you should ask." Catra said while Brennus reclined in his seat with interest.
The duo had plenty to discuss about the war and the Horde.
