Hey y'all! Sorry I haven't updated in a while! My internet is on the fritz again. I wish I could control the infuriating internet! It drives me crazy! Hope y'all enjoy this chapter ! Thank you for all your reviews and support!

Gilan's mind wandered as his thoughts no longer made since. His leg ached and his arm was infected. He was in terrible condition. He was starving and dehydrated. His mind was capable of putting together only one comprehensible thought : Halt will save me. He won't give up until I'm safe. Halt will save me.

***Line Break***

Halt and Crowley rode up to the cabin, greeted by a depressed silence. Everyone thought they knew who the body was. No one believed halt when they said it wasn't him, not even David. The only other being who seemed to believe halt was Blaze, Gilan's mare. The bay refused to even look at the body, instead turning up her muzzle and trotting to the path away from the cabin. She shook her nose at the woods, begging for someone to come with her.

"I know girl," Halt sighed, rubbing the mare's nose, "I know it's not him. I'm stocking up and leaving tonight. I'm bringing you with me. I know where they're hiding him. I can save him but I need supplies and maps. I'm leaving tonight and bringing you and Abelard."

"Where are you going Halt?" Ronan had come up behind the older ranger, "you can't leave."

Halt sighed and turned to the young boy, "that's not Gilan, Ronan. I'm telling you it isn't."

Ronan's shoulders sagged in relief, "it isn't? You're sure?"

Halt nodded, "it's not him," he quickly explained his reasoning to the apprentice, "and Blaze won't even look at it," he concluded, "there's no way it's Gilan."

Ronan smiled weakly, his relief showed clearly on his face, "I'm glad. Gilan is my best friend and I don't want to lose him."

Halt wrapped an arm around the young boy, "well, you don't have to worry. What I need you to do is keep Crowley and the other preoccupied while I pack. I can't have them asking questions. Can you do that?"

Ronan nodded, "anything that will get you out faster."

Halt squeezed his ally's shoulder, "thank you Ronan," he turned back to Blaze.

"Halt," Ronan's voice stopped him, "please just promise me something," he hesitated as Halt turned to face him, eyebrow raised, "just bring him home, okay?"

Halt rested a hand on Ronan's shoulder, squeezing gently, "I won't come home without him."

***Line Break***

Gilan looked up as the door flew open. Several of the men belonging to the gang flooded the room and kept their weapons trained on Gilan. They all snapped to attention as someone barked about several orders in Hibernian. Gilan's eyes grew wide as his captor's leader made his presence known. The man was familiar, though Gilan could only see his silhouette.

"Bring a torch," the man's voice had a heavy Hibernian accent, but it was strikingly familiar, "I want to see the boy clearly."

A torch illuminated the man's features and Gilan gasped, betrayal flooding through his veins. His eyes widened and he curled in on himself, tears threatening to spill out. It was Halt.

DUHDUHDUH! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hehehehehehe! Yes! I am an evil human being! Fear much! Gilan is now in much more danger than he was before! Mwahahahaha!
