After leaving the black scorched woods, and Knight's body. The four wolves continued on in silence. No one spoke for what seemed like hours. Toboe was at the back head down, tail down, and keeping quiet. The other three knew why he was like this, but didn't have the courage to say anything. Kiba looked back as Hiege and Tsume stopped to get some water.

"Poor Toboe I wish I could say or do something for him."

Kiba said as he laid down on the bank of the pond. His mate looked up at him, then glanced at the pup. He shook his head.

"I don't think that's a good idea Kiba."

"What do you mean, he is hurting Tsume."

"I know Kiba but maybe he doesn't want to talk."

The white wolf turned back to the pup. He saw that he was facing away from the rest of them, tail between his legs, ears down, and face hidden. Kiba wished he could help him but he had no idea how to start. So with new determination he got up and went over to the pup. Tsume watched closely as his mate went toward the pup.

"Do you think it's a good idea Kiba should be going near Toboe right now. I mean he did just lose his friend."

Hiege said as he took a drink of water. Tsume continued to watch Kiba before he glanced back at the alpha. He knew Hiege was right but he trusted Kiba, maybe he could get through the young pup.

"Knight was more than a friend. Hiege they were in love."

Hiege's mouth fell open. He had no idea they were like that. They were always together but from what he remembered, they were always fighting. Not that he had a problem with them, he was just shocked.

"I had no idea Tsume no one told me."

"It wasn't my secret to tell."

"Wow well at least I am up to speed."

The gray alpha stretched as he slowly stood up. All the while keeping his eye on his packmates. He hoped whatever Kiba was trying it was working.

As Kiba approached the pup he was thinking of a way to start. He had his mate back but Toboe lost his friend and lover. It was a horrible turn of events, be he would help as best he could. So with a deep breath Kiba tried to get Toboe's attention.

"Toboe it's me Kiba, are you thirsty? Or maybe you are hungry, we could go for a quick hunt."

His words were met with silence. The pup didn't move or make a sound, his body was taught and very still. The only movement was his chest moving slowly up and down to show breathing. The white wolf was about to say something else, but his words stopped. The pup stood up and slowly faced the white wolf.

His face was blank, teeth showing, and soft growls were coming from his throat. Kiba was frozen in his spot; he never saw or heard the young wolf like this before. He needed to say or do something but his muscles couldn't move. The look Toboe was showing was a dark look not something his face should ever show. The white wolf glanced around and saw Tsume and Heige on the bank of the river.

He needed to get their attention but he knew if he moved Toboe would pounce.

"Toboe...it's me you don't need to be on edge around me. I'm just here to talk. I wanted to see how you were doing is all."

The young wolf just growled and slowly crouched ready to pounce. Kiba's eyes went pup wasn't actually thinking of attacking was he. They were friends they have been through so much together. He looked over to his mate and Hiege, hoping one of them would notice what was about to happen.

Tsume felt something bad was going on. His fur was standing on end, his muscles were taught, and his tail was up. He looked over to where his mate was, and his jaw was tight. Toboe was in the crouching position which only meant one thing...attack. So without another thought, the gray wolf was racing over to his mate. Hiege saw the gray wolf take off and decided to follow.

Meanwhile Kiba was still trying to talk the pup down. But sadly no words were coming through. He tried to move away but Toboe would move closer with every step he took. His nerves were on edge and he couldn't do anything about it. Kiba had one thought run through his mind.

"Tsume...please I need your help."

It all happened so fast. Toboe growled louder and he jumped suddenly at the white wolf. Kiba tried to move out of the way, but his back foot slipped and he was on his side. The white wolf watched Toboe in slow motion. As the young wolf came closer, there was a sudden blur and Toboe yelped and was on the ground. Kiba blinked and watched as Tsume was wrestling the pup to get him to stop. Hige came up panting as he checked on Kiba.

"Kiba are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"

"I'm...I'm fine Hige thank you..."

Both wolves watched as two blurs of brown and gray rolled around on the ground. The only sound was growls, snapping teeth, yelps, and thuds as bodies hit the dirt. Kiba couldn't believe what he was seeing, his mate and his friend were fighting. He had to make them stop but how, if he tried to stop them he would get hurt or worse. Hige was just as confused and shocked as he was, Toboe was hurting of course but neither one of them expected this.

"Kiba we need to do something if we don't. Tsume will...

Hige trailed off as the thought was not a good one. Kiba stood up, shook his fur out, then made a decision.

"I know Hige I am going to try you have my back right?"

"Of course I do."

With one nod at each other both wolves went over to break up the fight.

Knight slowly made his way through the woods. Keeping his nose to the wind, as he tried to follow Toboe's scent. With his injuries it was slowing him up and he did not like it. As he limped, his paw slipped on a rock. Which made him fall with a yelp, and he growled at himself for being weak.

"Damn humans and their weapons...I will destroy any I see."

Knight thought as he stood up and shook the dirt from his fur. The black wolf continued on his way out of the woods and took in the sights he came upon. The view he saw was a valley and on the other side was a river. He sighed deeply he knew it would take him a while to find Toboe and the others, but with his injuries it would take much longer. Knight just had to reach young pup was probably out of his mind with sadness.

"Toboe...I'm coming I am...just hold on...

"Well isn't that a wonderful sentiment...to bad the runt won't be around to hear it."

The black wolf froze, he knew that voice all too well. A deep growl escaped his throat as he watched a figure move from the shadows and come into view. It was Tsuki the wolf that tried to get between him and Toboe. The white wolf smirked as he came closer, Knight was covered in blood that dried into his beautiful black fur, and had scorch marks on his face and ears. Tsuki sighed deeply at the state the wolf was in.

"Oh my poor Knight what has happened to you...your fur is filthy and you have scorch marks."

"First off I'm not YOURS, second what happened to me is none of your business."

Tsuki smirked as he came closer. He was right next to Knight's ear as he whispered something in his ear that made his blood run cold. Knight wanted to kill him then but with his injuries he had to stay put.

"Whatever happened to that runt you adored so much. I would think he would be here to help you. But yet here you are all by yourself."

Knight was shaking with rage as he watched the young wolf in front of him. He wanted to hurt him so bad that his body was getting warm. The black wolf closed his eyes and pictured Toboe. His soft brown fur, the darkness of his beautiful brown eyes, and the sweetness of his voice. All the while Tsuki was still talking, once Knight opened his eyes he smirked.

"You know what Tsuki I truly don't care what you think of me or Toboe. The truth is no matter what you say or do I will always choose Toboe and stick with him through everything."

Tsuki's eyes went dark as he took in what the black wolf said. Over his dead body will Knight choose that pitiful runt over him. He lifted his lip and slowly released a deep growl. Knight went stiff as he heard growls coming from the white wolf. He then prepared himself for another fight even though he was already hurt he would do anything to get back to Toboe.

Tsume panted, and moved his body out of the way of another attack. The look in the pup's eyes was not sane, it was pure instinct driving him now. His once brown shiny eyes were dual and lifeless. The gray alpha needed to stop this fight before he was killed or worse. Just then Toboe jumped on him. Tusme yelped as he and the pup land on the ground.

"Toboe...wait..."

The gray wolf's voice was cut off as he felt fangs enter his shoulder. With a howl of pain, he stood suddenly and tried to throw the runt off. Toboe just sank his fangs deeper into the gray wolf's shoulder as he moved. Tsume was starting to see double, his breathing was getting shorter. He tried to focus on getting the pup off, but the pain in his shoulder was to much for him to handle at the moment.

"TOBOE STOP THIS NOW!"

A white blur came out of nowhere and slammed into both wolves. The impact sent all three to the ground. Kiba stood quickly and slammed into Toboe once again, which in turn made the runt release his hold, and went flying a few feet away. Kiba waited till he was sure Toboe wasn't moving, then turned to his mate. The gray alpha was panting and trying to get to his feet, with Kiba's help he was able to stand.

"Tsume...are you alright I should have moved faster...I'm sorry."

"...I'm fine Kiba. My shoulder is just throbbing and bleeding. Once I rest and eat some food I will heal."

"It doesn't look that way to me, Toboe held on pretty tight."

"Kiba I'm fine now go check on the runt."

Tsume laid down and rested his head on his paws. Kiba sighed as he watched his mate. Always stubborn even after a fight. He walked closer to the gray wolf, licked his cheek, nuzzled his neck, and turned to the pup. Hige was watching him closer, Toboe was slowly sitting up panting. Hige was alet the whole time. Kiba approached slowly, watching the pup the whole time. He knew this was gonna be a very delicate situation. So with a deep breath he continued toward Toboe.

As the dust settled Knight stood shook the dirt from his fur. He watched as Tsuki laid in a puddle of blood as his breathing was becoming weaker. The black wolf smirked darkly as he turned his back on the wolf and continued his way to find Toboe. With a slight limp and a trail of light red paw prints he disappeared into the woods.
