Bit of a time jump
Scott frowned as he adjusted his glasses and looked around him. Screaming children. Adults running. Loud noises all around him, making his head throb-
"This is so AWESOME!"
"It's hot as hell-" he tried to argue with Nate.
"It's humid. And I'm handling it in a jacket. You're in shorts and a T-shirt."
"When did you get so mouthy?" Scott grumbled.
"I'm eleven. I'm supposed to be mouthy."
"Yeah, yeah. Emma and Carrie are coming out of the bathroom. Stay here." Nate groaned, but stepped closer to Scott. When Emma and Carrie met back up with them, Scott couldn't help but grin at the outfit Emma was wearing- a thin tank top with short shorts, giving him plenty of her body to enjoy.
"Are we ready?" Emma asked, winking at Scott.
"What are my rules?" Scott asked before his children could say anything.
"No running off."
"No using our powers to skip lines," Nate pouted.
"No means no."
"No using our powers to ride more than once," Nate said, rolling his eyes.
"Keep sunscreen on at all times."
"Stay hydrated."
"And for all of us to have fun," Emma said, giving Scott a pointed look.
"I will have fun as long as my rules are obeyed," Scott said looking at his children with crossed arms. "I mean it, you two. Disobedience will lead to a trip to the bathroom. And depending on the infraction, a trip back to the hotel. Am I understood?"
"Yes sir."
"Yes Daddy."
"Emma? Are we in agreement here?"
"That was the arrangement to get you to agree to visit the park, so yes."
"Just making sure. Alright. Let's go," Scott said, gesturing to the park's entrance. Carrie squealed and grabbed Nate's arm, pulling him with her past the multiple restaurants and towards the right- straight to the globe.
"Daddy! Take our picture!" Scott reached into his side bag and pulled out his camera at his daughter's request, snapping a picture for proof of their visit to Universal Studios in Florida.
"Where to first?" Nate asked his sister.
"This way!"
"Eyesight, please!" Scott called to them. They slowed their walk, obviously not wanting to test him on their first day in the park.
"They're excited, darling," Emma defended as she hooked her arm in Scott's. "This is our first vacation as a family that didn't involve uncles, grandparents, or a cabin in Alaska."
"I understand that, Em. But we're exposed here. One wrong move, and-"
"Who here knows who we are?" Scott used his forearm to wipe the sweat off of his forehead.
"It just takes one person, Emma." He wiped his face again. "How the hell did I let them talk me into this?! It's June. In Florida."
"It was what they wanted for their birthday. School is out and Nathan and Hope had their own plans for once."
"Stop being so reasonable," he grumbled. "I'm not made for this heat."
"Daddy! Can we ride this?" Carrie asked, pointing to a building.
"Me or you?" Scott asked, looking at Emma.
"Why not both? It's bound to be cooler inside." Scott nodded and allowed Nate to lead the way inside of the building. He shivered for a moment when the chilled air hit his skin.
"I hope there's a line. This feels amazing."
"Nope! No line!" Nate said, obviously excited for his first theme park ride. They continued to walk the path and Scott began looking around.
"Guys? I missed it. What ride is this? Because I'm getting some serious Apocalypse vibes here, and they're not… good memories."
"It's The Mummy," Emma told him, taking his hand. "It's a movie."
"So Egyptian." Scott rubbed his arm, trying to ignore the phantom pains shooting up and down.
"Yes. Do you need to step out?" Scott saw the hopeful looks on Nate and Carrie's faces.
"No." *I might have nightmares tonight,* he mentally, and privately, told Emma. *Apocalypse was not a good time in my past.* Emma simply squeezed his hand as they climbed into the train to ride the ride. Scott kept his eyes closed for some of it, truly not wanting anything to do with the ride.
"Can we go again?" Carrie asked. "There's no line!"
"Maybe on our way out," Emma told her. "Let's go see what else is available." The preteens groaned, but followed their parents out. The rest of the day went well, even with the aching feet the family had. It made Scott glad that he'd sprung for the resort inside of the park so there was less time between the exit and a bed.
"Can you carry me, Daddy?" Carrie asked as they passed the Globe on the way out.
"You're already Carrie." Carrie scrunched up her nose.
"Uncle Warren was right. You keep thinking you're funny, but you're not."
"And yet, Uncle Warren didn't pay for you to go to Universal, did he?" Scott asked rhetorically as he crouched down to allow his daughter to climb on his back.
"He gave us souvenir money," Nate told him with a shrug. Scott frowned as they continued their walk.
"How much?"
"A thousand dollars."
"Each?!"
"Yeah?"
"That's too much," Scott said, shaking his head.
"I left all but a hundred at home, Daddy," Carrie told him. Nate scoffed.
"Nate? Did you bring all of it?"
"How stupid do you think I am?"
"Pretty damn if you think talking to me like that is acceptable," Scott said, glaring. Emma put a calming hand on Scott's arm, also frowning at Nate.
"Nate, dear, we're simply concerned about you losing the money."
"I only brought two hundred. But Dad shouldn't just assume-"
"We've had a long day," Emma said, sensing the growing irritation in Scott. "It's late, none of us have had dinner, we're tired. Let's get something to eat and rest before we say something we'll regret." Scott adjusted his daughter on his back and walked ahead of them. They entered the resort not much later and, since they had checked in the previous evening, headed straight to the elevator. Emma and Nate hurried to keep up with him.
Once they were in their suite, Scott put Carrie down and turned to Nate.
"Come here."
"Dad-"
"If you want even a chance of going out tomorrow, you will come here now." Nate trudged to Scott, who grabbed his arm and yanked him forward, popping his behind twice. "Reel that attitude in fast, Nate. This is your only warning. You understand me?"
"Yes sir."
"Go shower." Nate nodded and hurried away. Carrie seemed to slink away as well.
"You didn't need to do that," Emma frowned. "It's been a long day-"
"He knows better," Scott said, moving to their room. "And I think I was quite lenient." Emma shook her head and followed Scott into their room.
"If you were being lenient, you would have simply scolded him." Scott took a breath as he began stripping his sweat soaked clothes before turning to look at Emma.
"You're right. Tempers were high, I'm tired, and I'm hungry. I'll apologize to him."
"Thank you," Emma said as she also began peeling out of her own clothes. Scott watched her, unashamed at the quickly growing organ between his legs. When Emma was completely nude, he took her in his arms and held her.
"Naked and sweaty," he whispered in her ear. "I just wish we were sweaty for another reason." Emma lifted her chin and kissed Scott, whose hand was getting lost in her hair. He pushed her against the wall and, gently, moved her head to the side to kiss her neck.
"I thought you were tired," she told him as he lowered himself to his knees and put her leg over his shoulder.
"What can I say, Ms. Frost? Your body is invigorating," he replied before his tongue became busy elsewhere. Emma gasped and steadied herself with her hands on Scott's head. Moments later, her hands were gripping his hair and she was moaning.
"Sc-Scott!" Scott pulled away and wiped his mouth.
"Yes?" Emma leaned against the wall, panting.
"I hope you aren't expecting me to return the favor," she said with half lidded eyes. Scott chuckled and held her to him.
"You bring me pleasure every day just by loving me," he told her quietly, his smile never leaving his face. "I don't know what I would do without you." Emma blinked away tears at the heartfelt honesty.
"I love you."
"I love you," Scott said, kissing her cheek. "But I stink, so I'm going to take a shower." He pulled away from her and went towards their private bathroom, starting the shower. He poked his head out of the bathroom and grinned. "Care to join me?"
"I thought you'd never ask," Emma said, gracefully hurrying to shower with him. They stepped under the water, mouths quickly finding each other once again.
"Em," Scott grunted. "I'm going to burst here. On you, or in you?" Emma guided Scott's profusely leaking member to her core. Scott picked her up and then balanced with one hand against the wall as he skillfully, in a way that only practice can make him, entered her. He pressed her against the cold tile of the shower, adjusting her for better leverage, and then set a quick pace with the knowledge that they still had to feed their children soon. Emma kissed his neck and bit down, causing Scott to finish with a hiss. He pumped into her three more times before pulling out and gently setting her on her feet.
"Feel better?"
"Loads," he grinned. Emma rolled her eyes fondly before reaching for the shampoo they had brought from home.
"Wash my hair?" Scott took the bottle and squirted it into his hand, motioning for her to turn as he put the bottle back down. He gently touched her hair and worked the shampoo into a lather while massaging in the way he knew she enjoyed. With her hair clean, he carefully rinsed the soap out.
"How's that?"
"Adequate," she sniffed before giving him a genuine smile. "Thank you."
"Anything for you, love." They switched places and Scott quickly washed and rinsed his own hair as Emma washed her body. When they switched so Scott could wash himself, Emma kissed him and stepped out of the shower.
"I'm going to order room service. Is there anything special you'd like?"
"I already had dessert," he teased.
"Scott Summers!"
"You know what I like, love. I trust you." Emma stepped out and Scott leaned with his hand against the wall again, letting the water cascade down his back.
"Daddy! Nate's not letting me shower!" He closed his eyes as he turned the water off.
"Give me a second, Carrie. You can shower in here-"
"What? No way! Nate's out of the bathroom, but he's flinging me away every time I get close to the door!" Scott grabbed his towel and wrapped it around his waist.
"I'll take care of it," he said as he stepped into his room. "Can I have some privacy please?" Carrie blushed and hurried out. Scott dried off and slid on a pair of his boxers and sleep pants, toweled his hair, and then stormed into the main sitting room where Nate was on the couch, grinning and clearly not letting his sister into the full bathroom to shower. Scott sat beside him without a word and jerked him over his lap.
"Dad! No! I'll stop!"
"I know you will," he said as he pulled Nate's sleep pants down. "But it shouldn't have been done to begin with!" He swatted Nate until he could feel the heat coming from his behind. Nate cried as he pulled away and stood, rubbing his stinging butt.
"I'm sorry!"
"I'm glad to hear that. But it's your sister you need to apologize to, Nathan. Not me. Now I think you need to spend some time in the corner until either she gets out of the shower or the food gets here." Nate nodded and pulled his pants up, sniffing. Scott saw the distraught look on Nate's face and he stood, his arms opened. Nate practically flew into Scott's embrace.
"I'm really sorry, Dad! Please don't make me stay back tomorrow!" Scott sat on the couch, pulling Nate into his lap.
"I wouldn't do that to you, son. Not without a real reason. I'm sorry I threatened it earlier. And I'm also sorry I popped you. It was a bit of an extreme reaction to the attitude, and I should have just talked to you instead."
"And this?" Nate sniffed.
"Oh, you deserved that spanking. There's no doubt about it. And I'm sure even you can tell that I went easy on you." Nate sniffed again, realizing the sting was mostly gone already.
"Yes sir."
"Alright, then. Go let Emma check over you, and then your nose needs to find a corner."
"Yes Daddy." Nate got up and went to search for Emma. Scott leaned back against the couch and closed his eyes. He was exhausted. Running drills had nothing on following two preteens with seemingly endless energy around a massive theme park.
"Nate is in a corner," Emma said, sitting beside him. "Are you ok?"
"You're not mad?"
"It could have been worse, and I had told him to stop." Scott frowned and looked at her.
"I didn't know he'd disobeyed you."
"He's been punished. Please let it go."
"Alright. But only because you asked… and because I barely have the energy to move my head. Damn. Next time Warren pisses me off, I'm sending him to a theme park with the kids." Emma laughed, making Scott smile. There was a knock at the door and Emma stood to answer it. The food was dropped off and she moved the table around to allow Scott to continue to sit on the couch.
"Nate, come and eat, dear." Nate left the corner and hesitantly sat beside Scott, who smiled at him and squeezed the back of his neck.
"Is the food here?" Carrie asked from the bathroom.
"It is! Come eat, Care-Bear!" Carrie exited moments later and sat across from her twin.
"Here you are, my darling," Emma said as she put a plate and a beer in front of Scott.
"You must have read my mind," he said, grinning. Carrie and Nate groaned.
"I'd have to agree with the children on this one," Emma said as she passed the rest of the food out. "That was horrible." Scott just continued to grin as he took a bite of the burger Emma had ordered for him.
"Mama, can I watch TV while I eat?" Nate asked.
"No. I'd like to make a plan for tomorrow's park," Emma said as she stood to grab a map from their things. She put it on the table and glanced at Scott.
"This park will be difficult," Scott told his children. "There's a superhero area-"
"So?" Nate said, chewing on a French fry. "We're around superheroes all the time. Carrie plays ball with Reed Richards' son, Spider-Man came to our birthday party, and oh! Our dad is Cyclops." Scott sent Nate an amused look.
"Be that as it may, this area allows people to be photographed with an actor playing Spider-Man, as well as the mutant-hunter ride." He swallowed. "Cyclops is one of the mutants." Carrie glared at the table
"That's not fair."
"I didn't say it was," Scott said, softly. "But I wanted to make sure you two were aware of it so that it doesn't catch you off guard. We've sent several cease and desist requests, but since we're mutants…"
"We can skip that area," Nate said, looking at Carrie. "It's stupid."
"We can decide that tomorrow, son. I know you were looking forward to riding the Hulk roller coaster after meeting Banner." Nate waved his hand dismissively.
"I'll just have Hulk toss me in the air or something."
"You most certainly will not," Emma demanded.
"Yes Mama," Nate said, smirking at Carrie.
"Nate," Scott frowned. "She said no. If we find out you've done it-"
"I will spank you," Emma finished. Nate blanched.
"Yes ma'am. I promise I won't do it intentionally." Emma nodded and continued to eat.
"Daddy, may I be excused? Uncle Warren wanted pictures."
"Go on," Scott smiled. Carrie threw her trash away and went into the room she and Nate were sharing.
"Dad?"
"Hm?"
"Who are the others?" Scott put his burger down and lifted his arm. Nate quickly leaned against him.
"Angel. Beast. Iceman. Jean-" Scott clenched his eyes shut, still thinking of the teammate he'd grown up with and then lost two years ago. After a year of hearing no word, he'd been forced to stop looking or risk losing his family.
"So… Mom's face?"
"Yeah."
"Hm." Nate looked up at his father and grinned. "How awesome would it be for Cyclops to destroy the ride?"
"I don't think that's a good idea. I don't feel like being arrested for destruction of property."
"Damn." Scott frowned at his son.
"Nathan. Do I need to get some vinegar?"
"No sir," Nate said, shoulders coming up to his ears.
"Then watch your language."
"Yes sir." Scott sighed as he ran his hand through Nate's hair as he used his other hand to continue eating his dinner.
"We should get some sleep," Emma said as she cleaned off the table. Scott nodded.
"Nate. Nate?" Scott looked down and saw a sleeping Nate leaning against his side. Emma kissed his forehead before going to the doorway of Nate and Carrie's room.
"Carolyn?"
"Yes Mama?"
"Will you help us get your brother into bed?" Carrie nodded and slid the laptop she'd brought off of her lap and got off the bed. She blinked several times before straining to lift her brother. Scott carried him to ease her burden a bit and gently put him in his bed.
"Thank you, Care-Bear," he said, kissing her head. "Are you ok?"
"He's heavy."
"It's not his fault-"
"I know," she said, sadly. "I'm not as strong as he is. I don't know how he handles it." Scott hugged Carrie to him.
"You don't know how strong you are until you have to be. There are times I look in my past and think of how it should have been impossible for me to make it." Carrie seemed thoughtful for a moment.
"I'm tired," she finally said. Scott led her to her bed and held the covers up. She got in the bed and Scott put the blankets over her and kissed her forehead again.
"Goodnight, Carrie," he said. "I love you."
"Love you, too, Daddy." He turned off the light and closed the door behind him. Emma had moved the table back and was sitting at it again, staring at the map.
"It's going to be ok," he told her, sensing her distress through their link.
"How can it?" She asked, looking up at him with unshed tears in her eyes. "To them, destroying us is a sport- a game. It's an attraction for people- but the Fantastic Four and Spider-Man are hailed as heroes? What did we do wrong but be born the way we are?" Scott sat beside her and gathered Emma into his arms.
"I think that's the problem," he said sadly. "We were born like this, whereas Parker and the Fantastic Four were 'normal' and then an outside force changed them… That's the only thing I can come up with. I don't understand why people hate us."
"I'd love nothing more than to show them how dangerous we can be."
"But you won't because of our family." Emma rested her head on his shoulder.
"Once upon a time, I would have," she admitted. "Shaw was grooming me to be like him. I…"
"You can say I saved you," Scott smiled. "You certainly saved me."
"You did nothing," Emma said, looking at him teasingly. "It was your children."
"You seemed to enjoy me in the shower."
"Simply acting," she said, waving her hand and moving to stand up. Scott gripped his arms around her waist and pulled her back into his lap.
"Acting, hm?" He slid his hand into her pants and ran his fingers up her slit. "This is acting?"
"Mm," Emma moaned. "I'm a phenomenal-" she moaned again. "-actress." Scott withdrew his hand.
"Maybe I'll have to watch a film with you one day, then."
"I suppose so." Scott leaned down and kissed her.
"I love you."
"And I, you," Emma returned before standing again. "We should go to bed, Scott. The morning will be here before we know it." Scott groaned, but stood up as well, moving his heavy body to their room. The two climbed into bed and fell asleep almost immediately.
"Daddy! Mama! Wake up!"
"Go 'way," Scott mumbled to his daughter, bringing the blanket over his head.
"It's almost time to go!"
"My feet still hurt," Scott complained. "No park."
"Dad!" Nate cried. "You promised!" Scott grunted as he felt a body jumping on him. "Wake up!" He threw the blanket off of him and glared at his son.
"Just for that, you've got five am runs for three days once we get home." Nate snorted.
"Yeah, ok."
"That means you'd be up that early, too, darling," Emma said, amused, as she moved to the suitcase to pull out clothes for the day.
"Not necessarily," Scott said, grinning evilly. "Logan is usually up that early." Nate's jaw dropped.
"Not fair!"
"Neither is jumping on me. You're eleven, Nate. That's old enough to know better-"
"But young enough not to care," Nate interrupted, grinning. Scott stared at him, unamused.
"Do you need to start the day with a sore ass?"
"No sir," Nate said, getting off the bed and covering his behind.
"Go get dressed," Scott ordered. "You too, Carrie."
"I'm already- I mean, yes sir," Carrie said as they left the room.
"Scott-"
"Emma, the kid is almost two hundred pounds of muscle and metal. That hurt." Emma pursed her lips for a moment.
"There are restaurants open in the City Walk. Let's go have breakfast and then enjoy the day."
"Yes ma'am," Scott said as he sat up. He rubbed his face and sighed before getting out of bed and finding clothes. Making a decision in the bathroom after combing his hair, Scott took out a pair of ruby quartz contacts and put them on- under his glasses. When he was dressed and ready for the day, he left the room and saw his children and Emma waiting by the door. Nate's eyes were focused on the floor and Scott frowned.
"Mama fussed at him," Carrie explained, seeing Scott's gaze on Nate. Scott gave Emma an appreciative look before turning back to Nate.
"Nathan." Nate looked up. "It's over and it's done. Let's have a good day." Nate smiled and hugged Scott.
"I'm sorry, Dad." Scott squeezed his arms around Nate's middle.
"I forgive you, kiddo. Now let's go get something to eat before your sister decides to try cannibalism." Nate snickered at Carrie's indignant look.
"Like I would eat any of you," she sneered. "Too much metal, too much muscle, and not an ounce of fat."
"Hey!" Nate and Scott cried while Emma brushed off invisible lint from her shoulder.
"She isn't wrong," Emma quipped.
"Well…" Scott said, trying to find an argument. "Not about you." Emma just gave Carrie a conspiratorial smile as they led the males out.
"Why do girls do that?" Nate asked while walking beside his father.
"Honestly? I have no idea. If you figure it out, let me know. I'm sure Grandpa and your uncles would be interested as well."
"So no one knows?"
"Afraid not," Scott dramatically sighed as he wrapped his arm around Nate's shoulders. The small family made their way to the City Walk and into an opened restaurant serving breakfast. They were seated and quickly began looking through the menus.
"Daddy?"
"Hm?" Scott said as he tried deciding on his meal.
"Will they recognize you?" Scott put the menu down and looked at Carrie.
"They might," he told her honestly. "But I'm doing everything I can to limit that chance. Like the rules Em and I came up with for the two of you."
"But… Not many people use… red glasses." Scott looked around and lifted his glasses up, winking at his daughter.
"I've got it covered, Care-Bear." He replaced his glasses and picked the menu back up.
"What can I get for you?" Scott looked up and saw a waiter who already looked done with his shift.
"Coffee, please."
"Apple juice," Carrie and Nate requested at the same time before frowning at one another.
"Sparkling water, if you have it. If not, orange juice," Emma ordered. The waiter nodded and wrote the drinks down before looking up.
"I'll get those right- oh my God."
"Is there a problem?" Scott asked, tensed. He truly hadn't expected to be noticed this soon after telling his children of his precautions.
"You're mutants. All of you," the waiter whispered.
"What makes you say that?" Emma frowned.
"I… I am, too. My- I see the auras of mutants. It's how I know… But I've never seen auras as bright as yours. Especially yours," he said, looking at Nate. "You must be very powerful." Nate squirmed in his seat and looked at Scott.
"I'd rather this not get out, if you don't mind."
"No, no I wouldn't dream of it. You wouldn't happen to know Nightcrawler, would you? I'm a big fan."
"Yeah, I know him," Scott admitted. "I'll tell him I met you the next time I talk to him."
"That's- that's too kind of you. Thank you, sir."
"Scott," Scott said, holding his hand out.
"Philip," the waiter said, happily shaking Scott's hand.
"I'll certainly be able to remember that," Scott smiled. "That's my grandpa's name." The waiter smiled brightly.
"I'll be right back with your drinks," he told them before walking away.
"So much for your precautions," Carrie scoffed. Scott snapped his eyes to her.
"He reads the auras of mutants. Let's see you figure out a way to avoid that."
"I wouldn't have to if we were normal," Carrie grumbled, glaring at her menu.
"Carolyn," Emma chided.
"What? It's true. What chances do Nate and I have away from the team? We know he never leaves, but what about me? I don't want to stay, but the minute my name gets out, my life is over. I'm never going to get a boyfriend because having Cyclops as my father, Angel as my godfather, the daughter of Magneto as my aunt, and Cable as my brother will scare anyone away!" Carrie stood up and ran off from the table. Scott started to rise to follow her, but Emma shook her head.
"I'll talk to her," she told Scott. "This is typical teenage girl behavior, even for an eleven year old."
"Tell her I'm sorry, Em," he said, sadly. "I… I didn't mean to subject her to a life like this."
"She loves her life as your daughter, Scott. She's just got a new rush of hormones and it's hard to handle them." Scott winced. "Hormones are natural-"
"What? No. No, I was just remembering my trouble with them. I had a decent handle on things until Dad came back into my life…" He cleared his throat. "You should go, love." Emma nodded and left the restaurant.
"Does she not like Big Nathan?" Nate asked sadly.
"She loves him because he's you," Scott told him confidently. "Nate? You don't feel trapped to stay with the team, do you? Because… if you don't want to stay, I'll… I'll help you find a career you love. There are plenty of places that won't care what you are or that you're my son."
"I want to be an X-Man, Dad. I want to fight for us. I want to fight beside you." Scott put his arm around Nate.
"One day, son," he promised. "And know that I'll be proud to have you watch my back." Nate smiled and leaned into Scott's hug. They stayed like that until their drinks were brought out and Emma and Carrie returned. Scott raised his eyes in surprise when he saw his daughter hesitate and then wince as she sat down. Emma cleared her throat as she took her seat.
"I'm sorry, Daddy," Carrie said quietly.
"I love you," Scott told her. "And Carrie, I will do everything in my power to help you make the life for yourself that you want. You don't have to join the team. I've never meant for you to think-" Scott stopped as he stared at the breaking news on the television.
"Daddy?" Emma, Nate, and Carrie looked where he was looking and Emma gasped.
"They found her?" Scott felt his phone buzz and he answered.
"Kurt," he greeted. "Yes, I just saw the news. Where was she? Ireland?" Scott looked at Emma.
"Ireland?" She questioned.
"Banshee found her," he said, phone away from his mouth. He moved it back to continue talking to Nightcrawler. "Alright. I'll have a team get her and bring her home. Kurt. Keep her safe. Tell Captain Britain I don't care who his sister is- if anything happens to her, I'll beat the shit out of him." Scott hung up and immediately dialed a new number.
"Who are you calling?" Nate asked.
"Angel. I need you, Iceman, Wolverine, and Psylocke to travel to Ireland. Jean has been found."
A/N: I don't think I've ever gone this long between updates for a story in the "Enter the Starjammers" world. I've had a busy week- my thyroid attacked me and I've been dealing with that. And I'm just exhausted- not with things specifically, just generally. I feel like, once again, I've lost my spark and instead of writing, I'm focusing what good energy I have on my family.
