Raines and at least 300 other soldiers marched through the snow while he looked at Selvaria. She sat atop one of the tanks, curious as to what this enemy was. It could have been the Federation, but the reports of the ice in this area? She had thought them be stupid, but now?
"General, we're here." Raines stated to Selvaria as the general leapt down from the tank. "Is that… Ice? It doesn't look natural." Raines questioned as he started to think as he hummed.
Selvaria looked at the massive mountains of ice on this battlefield. She looked at the soldiers that had been sent out by Gregor, each and every single one of them was encased in ice, it was not a pleasant death from what she started to see. This was NOT the work of a weapon she believed; she could not really think about this as the design of human science.
"What in the name of the Valkyria…?" Selvaria questioned, looking upon the battlefield with sheer interest. "Hmm. Stay here, I will begin to look on the battlefield and make sure that every single thing is dealt with properly." Selvaria stated to which Raine looked at the general with concern.
"General?" Raines questioned, looking at her with such interest. "Are you sure? We could casually spread out, back you up?" Raines questioned before Selvaria walked through the rows of soldiers, all curious as to what their general was doing.
Raines knew she was focusing on her duties at the moment. Her soldiers were at the time, at all times, her one and only concern. Raine unslung his gun, standing at attention for his general when it came down to it. There was far too much at stake.
"Stay here for about 10 minutes." Selvaria ordered while walking forward past the rest of her soldiers. "If I do not return by then? You are allowed to join. I will not endanger you if this is what I believe this is what I believe this is." Selvaria added, marching into the icy ruins.
Raines looked up at the ice with interest, the very structure was held aloft by ice. This woman was far powerful than any of them, he knew that this woman was far more powerful than the soldiers around her.
"Then she'll beat all of them, I guess?" One of the soldiers questioned to which Raines hummed.
He said nothing, there was nothing he could do to ward off the general's idea. It was her orders, after all. She needed to do this and there was nothing Raine could say at the moment. She needed to think about this mission, carrying it out even if it killed her.
"Do you know what she's thinking?" One of the soldiers stated while Raines sighed.
"That she has to protect us." Raines stated, leaning on the tank next to him. "We wait, we half 9 minutes currently. we have work to do." Raines stated, letting out a breath.
He didn't know what awaited Selvaria, but he knew what was going to happen. Selvaria was walking into a trap, ready to be crushed when it came down to it.
And she knew it. Selvaria was walking into it because it protected the 300 soldiers, she had brought with her, even if they wanted to fight and protect their general just as well.
"We wait." Raines stated, resting his hands on his rifle, hopeful his general was ready for this. "This warrior was going to be powerful. That much ice and snow? This enemy is on par with the general." Raines stated as he rubbed at his helmeted head.
(With Selvaria)
Selvaria walked past dozens of soldiers, all of them coated in a very familiar crimson liquid, but she knew that they were dead. She was quite familiar with battlefields when it comes down to it, this was a massacre.
"This is a battlefield filled with power from a Valkyria." Selvaria stated, looking around with interest at her surroundings. "Crymaria? No, I don't sense her energy. She's still part of the battlefield when it comes down to it. There is no way she could have caused this, there is nothing to gain by it." Selvaria added as she rubbed at her head.
Snow continued to rain down on her. She heard as she looked around, hearing swords being drawn and such. Selvaria could only point out that things were much more dangerous than she thought.
"Stand down, worthless…" Selvaria questioned as she drew her spear and shield. "Throw down those fancy little weapons." Selvaria heard from the soldiers.
She did not tap into the power of her ancestors. She did not need it. These invaders were not worth it when it came down to it, and they did cause this destruction. She would not give away her full power at the end of the day.
"I do not think I plan on doing that." Selvaria said before she rushed forward towards the warriors. "Come, I will show you what it is like to fight a true warrior." Selvaria stated while she swung her lance at one of the warriors.
She nodded as she met them head on, easily dodging their slash before lunging forward, her knee smashing into the first soldier with a giant crunch.
The soldier crumpled to the floor, his face a bloody mess as she caught another blade with her own. Selvaria easily sent the man flying with a slash of her weapon, throwing the man backwards a moment later.
She pondered if she should try and talk to the rest of her army, but they had strict instructions and Selvaria knew they wouldn't betray her instructions so easily.
"Who is this chick? She's as strong as the general!" One of the soldiers yelled to which Selvaria raised an eyebrow.
'General? Then these are enemy soldiers, do they have a Valkyria on their side that caused this destruction? That seems like the most likely answer, I'll have to interrogate one of them as a prisoner to figure out what brought this much destruction.' Selvaria thought as she sighed, thinking how best to deal with these soldiers.
"Kill her!" One of the soldiers yelled to which Selvaria rolled her eyes. "Now!" Another yelled as they rushed at Selvaria.
"Fools." Selvaria stated as she lashed out with another kick, throwing the soldier into the air before blocking a sword with her shield.
The weapon shattered into dozens of fragments as Selvaria skewered the soldier with her lance, dropping the third soldier in the fight. She looked at the ground who crowded around them. Selvaria could easily kill them, it didn't matter if they outnumbered her by 100 or more, there was no conventional force stronger than a Valkyria.
"Who is this chick?" Selvaria heard before she looked over her shoulder.
It seemed best to call for her reinforcements. She turned to the enemy; her tools held firmly in each hand. She stared calmly at the dozens of soldiers surrounding her like hungry wolves, all of them wanted fresh blood. They weren't disciplined, weren't shown any limits to what they could or couldn't do unlike her army.
"I am Brigadier General Selvaria Bles of the imperial army." Selvaria stated, raising her lance towards the enemy. "Surrender now or I will erase you all entirely. My power exceeds your own. You will not defeat me in combat, and if I must kill you all? I will." Selvaria added, holding her lance at the ready as she did so.
The soldiers looked at each other before someone finally spoke. It was followed by an explosion as her men finally swarmed inside, dozens upon dozens of her soldiers rushing in to defend their general. They quickly forced the enemy army to back off with the sheer bulk of their army. She nodded as the army surrounding her backed off slightly, giving ground.
"Hmm, you must be pretty strong to defeat my men…. Or they are very weak." Selvaria heard as she held up her hand, causing her army to pause as they stopped behind their general. "Fine, I'll fight you myself." Selvaria heard as one of her soldiers looked at the general.
"Ma'am, orders?" The soldier questioned to which Selvaria let out a hum. "These are the soldiers who you engaged by yourself?" Selvaria heard as she nodded, thinking of her next move.
"Stand down for now." Selvaria stated as the soldier nodded and both looked ahead. "Come forward then, you've invaded imperial territory, I will give you no mercy unless you surrender instantly." Selvaria added before a chuckle cut her off.
She held her sword and lance at the ready as the enemy parted like a sea of blood. They stepped aside, allowing a woman similar to her to walk past them. Selvaria held her weapons at the ready. The woman had long blue hair and wore a pristine military uniform with a cross upon it, Selvaria blinked at the symbol upon the woman's chest. The woman held a rapier at her side similar to her. She looked at Selvaria with interest, seeming to size the woman like she was a piece of meat. It made her think of a hungry beast, curious as how this woman was powerful.
'This must be the enemy general… That Tatoo on her chest. It's not a Valkyria symbol, so it means she must not be one. Then how did she cause this much damage? Did her army detonate some sort of weapon?' Selvaria thought to herself with interest.
The woman smirked at her and held up the sword she held. Selvaria held up her own weapons, ready to end this fight quickly and without delay.
"You are so strong, but yet you're protecting the weak?" Selvaria heard from the woman to which she was silent. "The weak deserve to die, they deserve nothing less than to lick our boots. Tell me, did the weak of the imperial army send you then?" Selvaria heard the woman question as she snorted in disbelief.
The weak? What was she babbling on about? The weak had nothing to do with this. Her destiny was to protect the empire.
"I could say the same for you, slaughtering the worker here who have no ability to fight." Selvaria stated in return as her power began to dance around her body. "You claim to be strong, but yet? You're hiding behind your army. Mine was busy awaiting my signal." Selvaria added as several of her men prepared to shoot.
Selvaria held up her hand towards them. She noticed Raines among the men in the crowd.
"Because if they cannot fight for themselves? They are weak, and thus deserve to be slaughtered like it." The woman claimed as Selvaria's eyes glowed with the eternal power she had been given.
"What would you know about strength if you're just killing the weak?" Selvaria questioned to which the woman blinked in surprise.
"Then show me your strength." The woman said as she drew her sword with an eager gleam in her eyes.
"This woman wants blood; I can see it in her eyes." Selvaria thought to herself as she turned to look over her shoulder. "Men? Stay back and allow me to engage their commander, that is an order." Selvaria added before they looked at her. to
"You heard the general, let her work." Raines stated before he frowned under his armor. "Damn, just who are we dealing with?" Raines questioned to himself as the imperial army waited for her orders.
They knew just how powerful the general was compared to them. If this was something only, she could defeat? Then they knew they had no real place trying to get her to back down when it came down to it.
"Stay back, any of you who interfere? I will personally send you to the dungeons." The woman stated to which the soldiers were silent.
"Who or what the hell is this lady?" One of the soldiers questioned to which there was mere silence.
Selvaria charged forward, blocking the woman from slashing her with her sword. She kicked the woman backwards, throwing herself forwards as both armies watched this battle with interest.
'This woman is as strong as the general. How? It doesn't look like those soldiers had anything to do with this. Is she just using them for backup or something?' Raines asked himself mentally while sighing as he did so.
There was such a mental confusion about how this battle had come to pass. Raines could tell something was going to happen sooner or later at the moment.
He was proven true when a gunshot from the enemy army rang out.

Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show the rest of the duel and fight. It will also show more at the moment of how Esdeath got here. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
