All hell broke loose as the two armies started to brawl. Raines couldn't see the general or the enemy commander… Though he 1000% knew that she was quite capable of surviving this.

There was more gunfire as he turned and shot one of the soldiers, ducking behind cover as he did so. The imperial soldier knew they were dealing more damage to this enemy than they were in return.

"Where's General Bles?" Raines asked before he fired again. "They're not breaking that easy," Raines stated to himself as he cursed and started to check the magazine.

"I think she engaged the enemy commander further inside." Raines heard as he shook his head before he shook his head.

They were interrupted by one of the enemy soldiers who tried to swing a sword at them. Raines lanced his ZM KAR up and through the man's chest. The soldier grunted before Raines threw him to the side. He looked at the soldiers around them.

"We need to hit them before they regroup with their commander at the moment," Raines stated while he rested his rifle on the barrier they were using. "Keep firing. We hit them now. Someone needs to get the armor ready. We're pushing forward." Raines ordered before his soldiers started to follow his orders.

He watched as an explosion rocked the battlefield as Selvaria's army continued to fire at the enemy army. They would beat them back sooner or later. It was just a matter of time.

(With Selvaria)

Selvaria deflected her enemy's sword as she pushed the woman back. She was strong and skilled, Selvaria cursed as she started to slash at the woman. Selvaria started to advance at the woman. She knew that her men were battling just as hard as she was. Selvaria fired a blast of energy which was blocked by a wall of ice. Selvaria smashed through the makeshift barrier with her shield, slamming the woman into the barrier as she did so.

"So much strength!" The woman screeched before lunging forward as she tried to impale the woman.

"All you care about is the power." Selvaria stated before she dodged the move. "You didn't attack this location because of any military advantage…. You did it to prove you could, didn't you?" Selvaria questioned, disgust evident in her voice.

Esdeath withdrew to gauge her enemy further. Every fiber of Selvaria felt reviled at this woman. She had slaughtered dozens of innocent workers all to prove some sort of twisted rule. Selvaria would never have done such a thing. Selvaria wanted nothing more than to drive her sword through this abomination's heart. She dared not call the pale-skinned woman human. It was an insult to their species.

"You are a monster." Selvaria stated, flaring her Valkyria power. "If all you care about is the power? Then let me speak as your enemy. I do not care about your disgusting views. You murdered innocent people of the empire if I do murder you? It will be to prove strength means nothing." Selvaria added as she pointed her lance at her enemy as she did so.

"I fight to protect the men under my command. Something you don't give a DAMN about, it seems." Selvaria added, slashing at her enemy with each word. "Strength means nothing since you care about nothing but strength." Selvaria added as she kicked the woman backward.

She did not pursue. This woman was powerful and unpredictable. The imperial general was neither stupid nor willing to indulge her in her twisted machinations. She needed to be with her men at the end, guiding and fighting.

"My men have to be strong or else they don't matter," Esdeath added before she started to think. "Come down here, finish this!" Esdeath hissed as the woman looked at her.

"No, I am not a battle-obsessed maniac like you." Selvaria stated to herself while she turned. "I'm choosing to fight with my men. Like any real general would choose to do at the moment." Selvaria said before she turned and backed into the foundry.

Esdeath hummed to herself as she realized this was not the end of a war. It was the start of one which interested her. She decided to link up with the remains of her army. There would be more chances to engage this woman in the battle she wanted.

If that was the case? Then she didn't care about the outcome of this battle. Her men would either regroup as they were too weak to be victorious without her. The options do they have at the moment? They died in battle and proved to be weak as she believed, or they won.

"Interesting power," Esdeath stated before she formed a pillar of ice and rose into the sky.

(With Raines)

Raines shot one of the soldiers in the head, their bodies collapsing into the snow around them. His soldiers were continuing to push forward as he did so. Raines scanned the skyline for the general.

"Where is she at the moment?" Raines asked before moving forward as he brought up his rifle.

One of their tanks fired, throwing a squad of soldiers to the side as he started to move to cover. The imperial forces were quickly dispatching their soldiers, Raines knew they were starting to take out the ones with swords last, attacking the ones with guns first.

Still? He wanted General Bles to return. He was simply an officer of lower rank. His authority was still limited.

"General Bles?" Raines asked as he swept his rifle around.

He turned to meet another soldier which he shot, the man collapsing to the ground. Raines swept his rifle around while shaking his head. He was about to call out to the general once more before the sounds of battle drew his attention.

He watched a glint of steel fly towards him. Raines went to duck under the object before it passed overhead. It ricocheted off the rubble and into another approaching soldier.

It then slammed into another soldier, throwing them off their feet before it hit a pillar. This bounced it over his head and into the hand of Selvaria who leaped down, her shield at the ready. She looked at the rest of her army with interest as Raines nodded.

"General Bles!" Raines shouted to the woman who started to dispatch the enemy soldiers.

Selvaria was rushed by at least a dozen soldiers as she rolled her eyes. She slashed one before stabbing another, watching the soldiers who were busy dueling her army. They were pushing back against such odds which was all to be expected of such elite warriors of the empire.

Raines watched as she kicked one of the soldiers who was sent flying. The enemy army was nothing but flies to her might. She was powerful enough to crush them without her army.

"She's almost similar to a goddess of war…" Raines muttered before a shot rang out, forcing him back into his battles.

Raines rushed towards the rubble which was overturned by the battle. It was something that the Valkyria didn't need, carrying a shield that seemed to deflect all gunfire in the world. She was cloaked in a shield that seemed to also wrap around her body. The shield of her spirit was just as bright in his eyes as it seemed in hers.

"Damn, who is this woman?" Selvaria heard as they surrounded the woman. "She's not human. I think she and the boss are connected." Selvaria also heard while she started to think.

She watched Raines shoot at a pair of approaching soldiers while one of her tanks advanced. The enemy army was collapsing… And they started to think so as well. Some of the enemy soldiers started to either surrender or retreat.

Selvaria made a move towards the soldiers who retreated. They all shared looks that showed that they were just as scared as the rest of the soldiers.

"Screw this, fall back!" One of the soldiers while they started to retreat.

"Capture one of them!" Selvaria ordered her soldiers as she started to rush forward.

Raines nodded and raised his rifle before he started to pull the trigger. His aim wasn't as true as he wanted it to be, one of the shots missing, he cursed and fired twice more. Raines cursed to himself before one of the soldiers collapsed to the ground while he shook his head.

Selvaria pivoted and fired her shield off which slammed into another soldier. The man's knees buckled as he collapsed as well, falling into the snow as Selvaria's army started to sweep inwards.

She made no moves to deal with the rest of the enemy army. They were broken enough, and while she wanted to destroy them before they regrouped? The general was not so stupid enough to not expect a trap. Her orders were also to capture the refinery, something that she had done.

"General!" Selvaria heard as she walked toward the soldier. "Prisoner here, as requested," Raines said with a salute as she started to think of what to do next.

The general frowned as she started to plan for the rest of the conflict. The woman with ice powers was certainly dangerous, but she was capable of losing in battle which meant that she could fall in combat.

"Sweep the perimeter, ensure there are no remaining enemy soldiers in the area," Selvaria ordered as the soldier nodded and turned to gather up the rest of her men for combat.

She needed to be ready for when they arrived. A second possible counterattack would shatter their forces if they were hit with too much force. Selvaria couldn't afford to give them the chance. She turned towards the rest of the soldiers who were busy securing the location.

"Whatever soldiers aren't attacking the enemy?" Selvaria asked as she prepared for combat with the rest of her soldiers. "Prepare for a possible attack. I want soldiers manning the barracks of all possible angles of attack." Selvaria ordered while she sighed to herself.

She wondered who the hell the woman she had attacked had been. An enemy Valkyria? It was possible, but the symbol on her chest was something she didn't know. It didn't look like she had indeed one of them.

'So many questions and almost no answers like always.' Selvaria thought while she rolled her eyebrows in annoyance.

"General?" She heard as she towards her soldiers. "There's no sign of the enemy army at the moment. One of the scouts reported there's a heavy mist in that direction." The soldier added while they waited for her to respond to them.

"Then tell the men to return here." Selvaria stated while she started to cross her arms. "We've chased them off," Selvaria added as she waited for her soldiers to return.

If they had vanished? She'd allow it. They were in no real position to attack the enemy army and she didn't want to waste the soldiers she still had. A smart general would recoup their power and army before they attacked again. The enemy general seemed to know that at the very least.

Selvaria plopped down on one piece of debris while she accessed what she knew. The enemy army was in retreat, but a woman who seemed to control the powers of ice and snow. Who they were? They didn't seem to be native to this area or anywhere around the empire.

That ruled out them being a former imperial or rouge officer. She was also aware if they wanted power? Other ways didn't involve seizing power like this.

But she also wondered if this woman was indeed a Valkyria. She had the power for it, yet she didn't have the same hair as one when it came down to it.

"Soldiers?" Raines asked while she frowned to herself before she started to think. "I request a squad come with me." Selvaria stated as she started to walk away and further into the base.

She watched as Raines and some of his soldiers started to march after her. They were busy when it came down to it.

She had to ponder how to defeat this woman if she showed back up before she sighed and simply wondered what to do next. There were soldiers in her army and so did the woman, yet she didn't care about them when it came down to it.

"There's still some soldiers that we're patrolling for. Some of them seem to be pulling back slowly." Raines stated as he frowned to himself.

She was well aware of what to do next when it came down to it. She was interested in what the next move to do next.

She frowned to herself as she sighed to herself.

Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out that the next chapter will be a longer chapter at the moment. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and 900-6500 when it came down to it and will show more of Raines and Selvaria at the moment. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
