Skye's POV

I sat on my hotel bed looking at a picture of Ward – the picture I took in the diner to turn him in. There was a knock on the door, so I quickly cleared my screen as May entered, and held two sodas in her hand.

"You never came out to eat," she pointed out.

"Not much of an appetite," I told her as she handed me a soda before sitting on the other bed facing me.

"Look, Fitz can't process the truth about Ward, not yet. What he said...it's what he needs to believe," she said.

"Do you think Ward's being controlled?" I asked her.

"Absolutely not," May scoffed.

I looked over at her then moved to directly face her.

"Neither do I. You know, I never gave you enough credit for this whole Zen-warrior thing. But I got to admit, it'd be nice to feel nothing right now," I told her.

Once again May scoffed and smiled a bit.

"You think I don't feel anything?"

"Look at you, you're a statue. And you and Ward had a thing. So if anyone should be furious –"

"I am," May said through gritted teeth as I looked at her surprised.

"I am furious. But I'm sure as hell not going to waste it on a tantrum," she said. "I'm gonna mine it, save it...and when we find Ward, I'm gonna use every bit of it to take him down."

"Wish I knew how to us that Hate-Fu," I mumbled, giving her a smile that she doesn't return.

"I'm up most mornings at 5:00," she informed me. I decided not to tell her that I already knew that since I didn't need sleep I usually just sprawled out on my bed doing my best not to drown in my thoughts and could hear her when she started getting ready in the morning.

Suddenly there was another knock on the door, Coulson didn't wait for an answer though, he just walked in. Not that I minded.

"Trip ID'd a number of Cybertek shipments that ping ponged across the globe. Brazil, Cambodia, Syria, but they all ended up in Havana," he told us.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. used to have a base there," May said.

"I told you we'd find them. We're going to Cuba." Coulson said as he turned to exit the room.

Ward's POV

"Everything okay?" I asked as I approached the lab after receiving a call from Raina.

"Everything's fine," she said as she walked out of the lab to join me.

"You have a problem with the drug?" I prompted.

"This isn't about the drug." She looked around, notices we are mostly alone, then looked back at me.

"I thought Agent Garrett shared my interest in special people, in transformation. But now I realize he was just afraid to die," she says sadly.

I just nodded.

"So I'm not sure how interested he'll be in what I found out about Skye."

"Skye?" I said leaning in as my interest increased.

"I probably shouldn't be talking to you about this. I should go straight to Garrett," Raina said. She started to walk away but I grabbed her arm stopping her.

"Garrett's got more important things to worry about," I told her, desperately wanting to hear her news about Skye. With her back to me I didn't notice the smirk on her face. "You can tell me instead."

"I've been looking through the files that Skye downloaded from the plane. And, in addition to medical records, I found hospital files, adoption agency searches, science experiments," Raina said as she turned back to look at me.

"Skye's an orphan. Been looking for her parents for a while. That's not exactly a secret," I told her.

"But that's what intrigued me. That and her DNA."

I just stared at her waiting for her to continue.

"It appears to be a match for someone I heard about a long time ago."

This got my attention, I crossed my arms looking down at her.

"You know something about Skye's history?"

"I can't confirm it's her, but I did hear a story about a baby girl. Years ago, a village on the Santorini Island in Greece. It was destroyed, every man, woman and child. Torn apart by monsters trying to find that baby."

"Did the monsters kill the baby's parents?" I asked.

"No. That's what's so interesting. The baby's parents were the monsters."

A look of realization of what she's just said crossed over my face as I suddenly remembered how Skye had jumped out of the plane the first time she had discovered Garret & I were Hydra. She had WINGS! How had I forgotten that! I also remembered her mentioning that she didn't want to go back to Hydra…had she already been on Hydra's radar before we met? This was going to require some extra research. I just had to make sure I was careful - I wanted Skye all to myself & if Hydra really was looking for her, the last thing I wanted to do was put her back on their sights.

Skye's POV

"Because we had to fly in low we have to search for our plane on the ground. Fitz, Simmons, you have the maps. Do not engage under any circumstances. If you find The Bus call us and stand down or come back here and wait," Coulson instructed several hours later as we gathered together.

"We'll be careful," Jemma said.

"Understood, sir," Fitz replied.

"Let's do it," Coulson said.

Fitz-Simmons started off one way while Coulson turned another way. Trip looked over to me and we gave each other a brief look then moved in opposite directions.

I lifted my head up from my seat in the van as Coulson returned.

"We're too late. They're gone," he said.

"They knew we were coming," May concluded.

"I'm not sure everyone's gone. Something's generating a lot of volts in there," I commented as I checked my laptop.

Trip got in and sat in the driver's seat. Suddenly a cellphone rings. It was Fitz-Simmons, the had found The Bus sitting on a runway outside of Able Santamaria, apparently packing up to leave.

"Get out of there, right now. Do not engage. Wait for us back at the jump jet," Coulson's instructed them, but I had a bad feeling in my stomach.

"Garrett's leaving," Coulson told us.

"We have to at least try and get over there," May said.

"Or not!" I exclaimed. They both turned to look at me as I held up my flash drive. "We still have this little puppy. If there's a computer system in that barber shop, we don't have to chase him anymore. We just plug it in, we wake up the Trojan horse and we're off to the races," I said excitedly.

"Worth a shot," Trip said with a shrug.

Coulson nodded.

"Let's do it," he agreed.

We entered the basement of the barbershop, which was now completely deserted, everyone keeping their guns up, except for me as I was carrying my laptop, and looking around.

"Skye, where are the computers?" May asked.

"I'm working on it," I told her.

"Trip, anything in your granddad's kit might help us out, here?" Coulson asked.

Trip nodded and holstered his gun.

"Always. Let me have a look." He took his backpack off and set it down on a table. He pulled some sort of device out. It's some sort of tablet with a camera mounted on the side, and started using it to scan the area.

"Come on...Come on," he mumbled. He stopped moving the device. "Over here."

Everyone in the room focused on him and move toward him.

"There's something behind this wall."

We all walk over to the wall he's indicated. We see the display on the device, before it was a blue gray color and now there are streaks of yellow and white inside it.

"Okay, I got something," Trip said.

"Secret door?" Coulson suggested.

Trip shrugged and turned off the device.

"I got this. They're like my thing," Coulson said smugly. I grinned at him as he looked over at me before walking up to the wall and starting to look it over running his hand along it. We heard something unlock and the wall swings open. He gave a satisfied look over his shoulder to the rest of us and I just continued to smile at him. He takes out his gun and points it into the opening. "Here we go."

We see some sort of HYDRA command center. There is a computer in the center of the room surrounded by light diodes and wires. And in case you were concerned this wasn't a HYDRA computer, the helpful little HYDRA screensaver would tip you off.

"Finally!" I exclaimed just as the lights are suddenly shut off. May gasps and turns to see one of Garrett's soldiers standing in the doorway holding the Berserker staff which suddenly glows red-orange. There's another noise from a dark section of the room, we can't see anything but we do see a bright red dot.

"It's a Centipede soldier," Coulson said.

We hear a few more humming noises and more bright red dots appear, at least half a dozen if not more. I was suddenly grateful for the fact that Fitz-Simmons weren't here. I had a feeling I was going to need to use my powers to help us get out of here & thankfully for me, given Trip's connections to the Howling Commandos, I had a feeling he would actually be receptive to the idea of me having inhuman abilities. Here's hoping anyways…
