Face My Enemy/A Hen in the Wolf House - Basically for anyone who hasn't seen the show Coulson and May go undercover to recover a painting that has the carvings that Garrett and Coulson are making on the back of it (in my version they have a little soulmate bonding moment while dancing ) general talbot shows up; it's really a former agent who has been brainwashed by Hydra and uses a mask to change her appearance and she disguises herself as May to trick everyone - the rest of the team gets stuck on the BUS and Fitz is able to stop them from getting blown up. In my version just add a little subtle hints that Hunter (despite constantly bringing up his ex and how much of a she-devil she is) seems to be occasionally flirting with Daisy. Haven't decided if I want there to be any real interest on his part yet or whether I'm just hinting at the fact that eventually one of Thalia's powers is control of love/sexual interests etc which is already mentioned in the DC story. In the background of it all Daisy is still busy trying to work out what the symbols/carvings mean and what Coulson is hiding from her (which is that he has started carving to and is worried that he will end up becoming crazy like Garrett)

I made some minor changes to the next episode in the show as well since Skye's father isn't a raging lunatic like in the show and her mother isn't also a raging psychopath lol - so I decided to throw in some more greek mythology/Percy jacksonish stuff to help set the scene for the eventual crossover (which I would also like to know if ppl want me to continue it both here and in the other story or just create a whole new 3rd book on the app that starts off after I set up the initial crossover? Haven't decided how I want to do that yet...

"Sir, what is that?" I suddenly asked as I noticed carving similar to what I had been studying lately in the corner of Coulson's desk.

"Uh, just sketches," he replied, moving over a folder to cover the carving up then looking up at me. "If The Obelisk is back in play, we need to know what this writing means. Any progress on your end?"

"I put some feelers out to my Rising Tide contacts about the painting we recovered in Miami and no one has ever seen anything like it," I said with a frown as I subtlety glanced down at his desk again.

"Keep looking, something will turn up," Coulson said.

"What about the writings you've been giving me? Why don't you tell me your source and I'll follow up?" I asked pointedly.

"I'm afraid that's classified," he replied.

"Well, you're the boss man. Maybe you could de-classify it," Hunter pointed out.

"I could. I won't," said Coulson.

"Why not?" I huffed.

"I already answered the question, Daisy."

"No, you didn't. You skirted it. There's a difference!" I exclaimed, crossing my arms. Noticing in the corner of my eyes as Trip and Hunter shared a surprised look at the sass I was showing Coulson. He walked around the desk to stand in front of me with a very serious face.

"Then it's a difference I'm comfortable with, but if you continue questioning my authority then you and I are gonna have a very different conversation. One you will not be comfortable with. Is that clear?"

"Yes, sir," I gritted out before spinning on my feet and storming from the room.

"I'm surprised it took you so long," Ward said as he looked at me.

"This isn't about that," I hissed out, knowing he thought I had come down here to discuss my parents.

Ward sat on the end of his bed looking at me.

"Come on, Skye. Don't pretend you haven't thought about what I said," he taunted.

"I won't repeat again, my name is Daisy now. And I'm pretty sure you're the last person I'd ever want to talk to about my parents."

"Not if you want to find them."

"My parents were killed on the Santorini Island in Greece, along with everyone else in the area."

"That's not what happened," Ward hinted. I crossed my arms.

"I know what you're doing."

"I'm just trying to help."

"No, you're exploiting a weakness, looking for a way in," I told him, it was exactly like Nat and Clint had suggested he might try to do. Use my weaknesses against me. I wasn't planning on letting him.

"I told you, I will never lie to you." He stood up from his bed walking toward me. "Not again."

"Okay. If you're really being honest, name your source," I told him.

"What?"

"If you have information about my parents tell me where it came from, it's that simple!" I stated.

He looked at me a moment then nodded his head.

"Raina."

I lifted my eyebrows and laughed.

"She knows them, Sk-Daisy," he said, catching himself at the last minute.

I laughed harder.

"No, I believe that you think she does!" I laughed again. "Oh, do you not get it? Raina played you!" He puffed out his chest and stood a little higher. "She found your weakness and then used it against you," I said.

"Daisy," he started to say.

I suddenly got to my feet.

"Shut up, Ward. I don't want to hear you say another word about it." He nodded his head and sighed deeply. "Good." I grabbed the tablet from the chair and showed him the alien writing. "Tell me what you know about this!" I demanded.

"First saw that when we were in Belarus – Me and you – and later on, when Garrett started etching that in the glass."

I took the tablet down and looked at it.

"Garrett carved this stuff himself?" He nodded. "Did he say what it was?"

"No, but he wasn't making a lot of sense after he was injected with the GH formula."

He stopped walking and stared at me with worry, the same thought appeared to have crossed his mind as well.

"These writings, they're not yours, are they?" I shook my head and he relaxed taking a step back. But I had my mind on Coulson. "Good."He nodded then walked further away. "That's good, cause once Garrett started he couldn't stop. The writing was anywhere he could carve it; on the walls, on the floor."

"On his desk..." I mumbled as I remembered the scratches I had seen on Coulson's desk.

"To be honest I was almost relieved when Shied put him down. The Garrett I knew was long gone once the writing started. And whatever took his place, I don't think it was meant to survive."

"The reason you won't name your source is because you are the source!" I declared angrily as I stormed into Coulson's office. Coulson just looked up at me.

"By all means, come on in."

"Please, I know it's you so just be honest with me," I pleaded.

He set his papers down and looked at me squarely not saying anything.

"Are you okay?" I asked, worriedly.

"I'm fine."

"Because once Garrett starting writing he went kind of nuts!"

"I see you've been talking to Ward," Coulson noted. This time it was my turn not to say anything and just look at him. "I told you, I'm fine. May's been keeping an eye on me."

I tossed some pictures of the carvings down on his desk.

"When did you start doing this?" I demanded to know.

"First night I saw Garrett's writings, it just triggered something in me."

"What do you think caused it?"

"The GH formula, most likely. Garrett and I were both injected, not a coincidence," Coulson said.

"Yeah, but so was I and I haven't written anything like that!"

"Which is either very good or a whole different kind of scary." He walked around his desk to stand closer to me. "Which is why we had to monitor you."

I was taken aback by this.

"Whoa. Wait. Monitor? That is a very specific word," I said, annoyed as I was reminded of Hydra. I could see a knowing look in Coulson's eyes as he saw the look I was giving him.

"We didn't tell you about this because we wanted to passively observe – see if the writing would trigger something in you."

"So, what, you guys put, like, tiny hidden cameras in my bunk?" I asked.

"Not in your bunk but I think you're focusing on the wrong details here," said Coulson. I had to calm myself and remind my brain that Coulson was most definitely not Hydra.

I thought for a moment about what he said.

"I didn't react the same way..." I realized.

"Right. I believe Garrett and I had a negative reaction to the alien DNA in our system. Maybe you didn't...because it was already there," Coulson said slowly.

"Yeah, right, like I'm an alien," I chuckled nervously as I rolled my eyes. He just stared at me and swallowed. "Hold on, are you saying that I am an alien?!" I shouted.

He made a face.

"It's a theory."

"No, a theory is what scientists use to prove things in nature. This is you telling me that I might be an alien. That is not something you just say like it's no big deal!" I stammered.

"I was trying not to rattle you," Coulson said with a shrug.

"Well, guess what, epic fail!" I shouted.

May entered the office.

"Coulson, you have a call on line one," she told him, closing the door behind her.

"Really not a good time," he told her, glancing at me.

"You're really gonna want to take this call," she replied.

I looked at Coulson as he picked up the receiver putting it to his ear.

"Hello?"

"I hope I'm not interrupting," I heard a female voice say on the other end of the line.

"Somehow I suspect that's the point," Coulson said as we stared at each other in recognition. "What do you want, Raina?"

3rd Person POV

"I was worried you weren't going to accept my invitation...but perhaps I wasn't the only one looking forward to our next meeting," Raina said as she sat down in front of Coulson at the restaurant.

He poured some wine into her glass with a smirk of his own.

"Is she hitting on him?" Hunter asked into his comm unit.

"Yep," Daisy said with a frown of disgust.

"That's what she does," May added, ignoring the flash of jealousy that she felt.

"You implied there was something urgent to discuss so here I am. Either way, you're gonna give me what I want," Coulson said.

"You've changed, Agent Coulson," Raina observed.

"Might just be circumstance, considering last time you had me strapped into your little memory machine," replied Coulson.

"I was only trying to help."

"You want to help? Tell me where to find The Obelisk," Coulson demanded.

"I'm afraid it's out of my hands," Raina told him.

"That really doesn't work for me. I've seen what that thing can do. It's too dangerous to be out in the real world," said Coulson.

"You've only seen the beginning. Just because something's powerful doesn't make it dangerous," Raina commented.

"In this case it's more the death and destruction," Coulson crossed his arms.

"You must believe me, Agent Coulson, we want the same thing," said Raina, leaning forward.

"Unless it's an end to this conversation I'm pretty sure we don't," Coulson smirked.

"You really know how to make a girl feel special," Raina leaned her head on her hand.

"Only when I suspect she has something up her sleeve," Coulson stated.

"It's in my purse, actually," Raina grinned. "Right now HYDRA's looking for a spy within their ranks." She pulled out her cellphone holding it so Coulson could see it, as she clicked buttons. "I wonder what would happen to Agent Simmons..." She flipped the phone around and showed Coulson a picture of Simmons she took while Simmons was in the park leaving an encrypted message. May and Daisy both perked up at the mention of Simmons and looked at each other with worry. "If this were to fall into the wrong hands."

"I don't like being threatened," Coulson warned her.

"This isn't a threat. It's a gesture of goodwill. I would like nothing more than to delete that photo."

"And in return, what do you want?" Coulson demanded to know.

"From you?" Raina smiled and shook her head. "Nothing. But I will need to take Skye with me. Or, Daisy, as I've heard she calls herself now."She sat back in her chair staring at Coulson.

May turned and looked back at Daisy.

"Excuse me? What in the hell is this really about? And why, also in the hell, do you think I would ever let that happen?" Coulson said in surprise, knowing immediately that he would never hand Daisy over. He cared about her too much. She was basically the daughter he never had.

"To prevent every HYDRA employee from receiving an automated email with that photo," Raina replied as she looked at him pointedly.

They both looked down at the phone, Coulson then looked back up at Raina. She hit the phone and a countdown appeared on the screen, two minutes and counting down.

"You have two minutes. After which there's nothing I can do," she told him.

"Where are you planning to take Daisy," Coulson asked.

She lifted up her wineglass.

"Somewhere she's always wanted to go. To meet her parents," Raina said as she drank from her glass.

May and Daisy exchanged very wide eyed looks.

"She's lying," May immediately told her new protégé.

"Ward said Raina knew them. This cannot be a coincidence!" She whispered back.

"So you're what, working for Daisy's parents now?" Coulson asked in disbelief.

"I'm just trying to make the best out of a difficult situation," Raina replied.

"By threatening the life of one of my agents?" Coulson responded.

"By allowing one to find out who she really is. That's what Daisy's been searching for her whole life. Ask her yourself, Agent Coulson. She's here, isn't she? Listening?" Raina commented. Daisy and May were still staring at each other wide eyed. "Daisy needs to know that her parents love her very much, that she was taken from them against their will," Raina added.

Daisy lowered her eyes listening and looked up at May who was shaking her head.

"That they've spent her entire life searching for her. No matter how much you've changed, Agent Coulson, deep down you're still a good man. No good man would intentionally keep a daughter from her parents...Especially when so much is at stake," Raina glanced down at the phone. "You're running out of time."

Coulson glanced down at the phone - there was now 32 seconds left and it ticked down to 30 while he watched.

"Give Daisy what she's always wanted...or else Agent Simmons dies," Raina implored.

Coulson stared at her and she gave him a sweet smile. The phone was now at 19 seconds. He pushed the phone back at Raina.

"No deal," he told her.

Raina's smile faltered.

Daisy moved to hurry past May but May blocked her from going out the door.

"Stand down, Daisy," she ordered.

"Were you not listening? If I don't go out there Simmons is gonna die!" Daisy shouted at her.

"Coulson has a plan," May told her.

"He also carves alien writing into his desk so maybe his judgment is not what it used to be," Daisy argued back. She moved to go around May again, but this time May resorted to physical restraint. She slammed Daisy against a refrigerator holding her in place.

"I said stand down!" She told her again.

"Look, it's not too late. We can fix this. No one needs to get hurt!" Raina whispered worriedly. Coulson just stared at her, she nervously looked down at her phone, it now read 8 seconds. "Please."

Coulson looked down at the phone, 3...2 Coulson stared at Raina, she looked at him then down to the phone worried, 1...0. Execute file transfer.

"I can't believe you would sacrifice one of your own agents," Raina hissed, but it was clear that she was freaking out over the fact he had turned down the deal.

"We all take risks in this business. In your case it just didn't pay off," Coulson informed her.

"I had no choice," Raina whispered.

Hunter got up from his table and sat down at theirs. He held up one of his hands and rubbed his thumb and first finger together.

"Tiny violin's playing, but no one's listening, sweetheart," he said to Raina.

"Who's making you do this?" Coulson asked.

"HYDRA," Raina gritted out.

"They want The Obelisk but you don't have it. Daisy's parents do," Coulson realized.

"They won't stop until they get her," said Raina.

"You're scared of them, and you don't scare easily," Coulson commented.

"They're very dangerous beings. You wouldn't believe the stories," Raina said. Coulson did his best to ignore her use of the word "beings" that sounded a bit to on point with his alien theory.

"Well, now we've established Daisy's parents aren't parents of the year, what's next?" Hunter chimed in.

"Take me in!" Raina demanded. Hunter just smirk3: at her, but she kept her eyes on Coulson. "Please."

"Sorry. No vacancies," Coulson told her.

"Once I walk out that door, Whitehall will kill me!" She pleaded, her eyes filling with tears of fright.

"It's possible. Or, maybe you and I will work together after all," Coulson said, nodding at Hunter.

"What?" Raina asked confused.

"Tag and tail it is, then," Hunter said as he leaned over to her and shot her in the leg with a tracker. She let out a gasp and looked down then back up to Coulson.

"You're gonna use me to get to Whitehall," she asked surprised.

"He'll be trying to find you. Whether or not we're there to save you when he does, that's your call. Depending on how useful you make yourself. You can start by telling us how to find Daisy's parents," Coulson stated.

"The address Raina gave us is only a few blocks away," May commented once they were back on the BUS.

"And I thought she chose this place for the ambiance," Coulson said.

May reached up and turned her comms off, Coulson saw and did the same.

"Remember what Lumley said about Daisy," she asked.

"Wherever she goes, death follows". Yeah, that was a memorable quote," Coulson replied.

"Look, we know Daisy's parents have been searching for her all this time. What if they are who Lumley is so afraid of?" May questioned.

Hunter walked over to them and they both glanced over.

"Probably a trap, isn't it?" He pointed out.

"Could be. I'll need you running surveillance. May, check the scanners. Make sure local PD aren't patrolling the area. And Daisy –" Coulson glanced over his shoulder but didn't see her, May and Hunter glanced around as well. "Where's Daisy?"

Daisy's POV.

I stood outside holding a flashlight in the alleyway outside the address Raina had given Coulson. I couldn't wait. I had to know if my parents were in there. I drew my gun and walked to the door. After pausing at it a moment I opened the door and entered.

"Hello?" I called out as I walked down a hallway. I saw a door open at the end of the hall with a light on and slowly made my way toward it. "Anyone here? You wanted to meet. Well, here I am!" I called out. I reached the doorway and paused for a moment, screwed up my courage and entered the room. I kicked open the door and scanned around, it looked like a long abandoned office area, but something seemed off. I sensed an illusion hanging in the air and waved my hands dismissing it and stared around in awe as the room began to transform into an old fashioned marble temple room of some sort. There were greek symbols everywhere. I lowered my gun and raised my flashlight as I began to search the room. Suddenly there was a flash of golden light in front of me and I reached out to snatch the photo that was floating in front of my face and stared at it in shock.

It was a photo of a middle aged man and three women - in the man's arms was a baby wrapped in a silk golden cloth.

I don't know how long I was staring at it but I jumped when a hand was placed on my shoulder. I turned quickly around to see Coulson standing there. He looked down at the photo then up to at me.

"So they were here," he said.

"Yeah," I whispered as I looked at him. Tears filling my eyes. "I just wanted a glimpse..."

Coulson nodded his head in understanding.

"You're having one hell of a day, huh?" He said sympathetically as he lifted out his arms.

I nodded with a small smile as the tears began to fall down my cheeks as I stepped into him, allowing him to put his arms around me in a hug; holding me close as I cried.

"We'll find them. It's okay," he reassured me.

"So is this a group hug type situation?" I heard Hunter say slowly as he entered. I swiped at my face as I quickly wiped away my tears.

"You find anything?" Coulson asked.

"The place has been cleared out, must've left in a hurry. Agent May's checking the other rooms. This place is huge. Not what you would expect from the outside," Hunter commented. I suspected magic of some sort was involved but again I didn't want him knowing too much about me and my powers and that; according to Coulson I might be an alien.

"Have you been drinking?" I asked as I took in his scent.

"I was working. Had to maintain my cover," he replied with a wink.

"Your cover as what, Ron Burgundy?" I retorted.

He leaned in to Coulson and whispered confidentially, but loud enough for me to hear.

"I can see why she frustrates you."

Coulson smirked for a second before it dropped as he addressed May who had entered the room.

"Agent May, any sign of them?"

"No. But there's something you need to see," she replied.

I shared a look with Coulson as we followed her back into the hallway and past several ornate doors.

The room she lead us to was all the way at the very back and once we walked inside we could all see that it was trashed - and there was bloody bodies everywhere. The floor was covered in blood. My face paled as I stared around at the carnage.

"Looks like a large blade of some sort," May said as she went over to one guy. And this?"

She points to the rest of the damage in the room. "Is just pure strength. Whoever did this –" She glanced at me but I avoided her gaze as I stared down at all the dead men that lay around the room.

"We all know who did this!" I said, trying to keep my voice steady.

The fireplace, check the mantle!

I frowned as I suddenly heard a voice in my mind whispering to me. I glanced around but it didn't seem like anyone else had heard. I slowly walked over to it and a glint of golden light caught my eye. I reached my hand out to it and gasped as I suddenly felt as if something had pricked my finger and snatched my finger back but I didn't see any visible damage. Huh... We all spun around as suddenly a loud grinding noise could be heard and the whole fireplace suddenly slid sideways to reveal a passageway. What the hell!

I stared at Coulson and May in shock as I raised my flashlight back up and lead the way.
