[1216 Franklin Avenue]
It was a sunny afternoon and two of the Loud kids were heading home together. One of them was Luan Loud who was in all her getup for her most recent birthday party. She was dressed as a party clown with her yellow coat covered in patches, green breaches with large red and floppy clown shoes. She finished her look with a red clown nose and her rainbow wig. Being the skilled cyclist she was she was riding her unicycle while carrying a large box filled with rubber chickens. Running next to her was her little brother Lincoln. As her assistant he was wearing a black tee shirt and did the behind the stage work while she told all the jokes and made a fool of herself for a bunch of five year old kids to laugh. That was their whole Thursday morning.
Now the reason why they were moving so quickly was because Lincoln insisted on booking it. It was actually Luan who was trying to keep up with him. Not at all easy to do when you're both carrying a heavy load and trying to maintain your balance on a unicycle.
"Lincoln please slow down! I specialize in preforming jokes not stunts!" she pleaded as she wobbled just a little bit.
He wasn't really paying attention to her as he dashed up the steps on their porch and ran straight through the door, almost running into Luna who was about to exit the house. "Woah!" she gasped as he barely missed her. "Where's the fire Bro?!" she asked shocked and kind of annoyed.
"Sorry Luna!" Lincoln called back as he ran upstairs.
That was when Luan reentered their home. "Why's Lincoln in such a rush?" she asked her roommate and little sister.
"The birthday party ended up lasting longer than we thought. Lincoln's late for his video chat with his girlfriend." she answered rubbing the back of her neck.
"Aw poor guy." she replied looking a little worried, wondering how Ronnie Anne will react. That was when something caught her attention. "Is that German Chocolate?" she asked pointing to a slice of leftover birthday cake her sister was holding.
Luan smiled and offered it to her. "One of the benefits of Funny Business." she answered as Luna accepted the offering.
Upstairs the white haired boy quickly returned all of his sister's party supplies to her room and then dashed down the hall to his bedroom. He entered and locked the door before opening his laptop and switching it on. Then he logged online and let it load up the site where the two would chat.
"Pleasedon'tbemadpleasedon'tbemadpleasedon'tbemadpleasedon'tbemad!" he repeated over and over again as he waited for it to finish loading. As soon as it finished loading he was met with the image of Ronnie Anne sitting in her chair at her desk, her arms were crossed and so was her expression as she glared at her screen. Lincoln took a moment to break the fourth wall and look directly at the readers. "I was afraid of this." he said turning back to his girlfriend. "Uh, hey Ronnie Anne." he greeted nervously.
"You're late Lame-O. Again." she grumbled raising one of her brows.
"I know, I know and I'm sorry." he said leaning forward with his face falling into his hands. "It wasn't supposed to be this late but I was..." he began before he was cut off.
"Let me guess, were you helping Leni shop at the mall or were you helping Luna out with band practice?" she asked him relaxing some and leaning back in her chair.
"Actually this time I was helping Luan out with a birthday party. I'm her assistant at all these gigs." he answered.
"You kept me waiting for thirty minutes because you guys were preforming for a bunch of little kids?" she asked sounding annoyed.
"It wasn't supposed to take as long as it did, we ended up being held up due to several other surprise guests for the birthday girl." he replied. "One of them was her Dad, he's in the Army and came home from his tour to surprise her and everyone wanted to take a million pictures so it took way longer than she and I were planning." he explained.
"Ugh!" she scoffed. "Lincoln all you do is make excuses. It's either being Lori's golf caddy, Luan's party assistant, Lola's coach, Lynn's training partner, helping out at Luna's band practices..." she listed off.
Now Lincoln understood that she was frustrated but he wasn't going to just let her go off on him like that. "Come on Ronnie Anne that's not fair. I enjoy having these calls with you, I really do and I hate being late for them just as much as you do but I can't just ignore my sisters you know that." he said trying to explain himself.
"Lincoln you're late for half of our calls." she shot back.
"Can we please not have this argument again?" he asked her.
The young hispanic girl looked at the screen for a second before she let out a heavy sigh and smiled. "Okay fine, fine how was your day?" she asked him.
A couple of doors down in Lisa and Lily's room, Leni, Lucy, Lolo, Lisa and Lily were seated on the floor and watching the huge screen that the second youngest had in her shared room while having snacks. Seconds later Luna and Luan entered the little girls bedroom.
"Hey Leni, I was wondering if you had some green to lend me." Luna said letting herself in.
"Shhhh! Be quiet you guys, it's getting good." Lola told them, briefly breaking eye contact with the screen and then going back to watching the drama.
"What's going on?" Luan asked as they both let themselves in.
Apparently their sisters were watching their brother having his talk with Ronnie Anne in his room using a hidden camera. This shocked the both of them with both sisters looking at them with disapproving scowls with their hands on their hips.
"Dudes! This is not cool!" Luna scolded.
"Yeah, I can't believe you all would go behind our brother's back and violate his privacy like that." Luan added.
The rest of the sisters weren't really paying any attention and after a couple of seconds Luna and Luan stopped scolding them and they both looked up at the screen, "So what's happened so far?" Luna asked.
"Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were having a fight." Lucy answered before putting another handful of popcorn in her mouth.
Both teens immediately stopped worrying about what they were scolding their sisters for seconds ago and took their seats on the floor with both of them hugging their knees as they sat.
Lisa walked up with two cans of soft drinks. "May I offer you Ladiesch an Orange Schoda?" she asked holding them up.
Luna and Luan accepted without taking their eyes off the screen, popped the tops and took a swig as they watched their brother's conversation with his girlfriend unfold. However a couple of seconds later a thought came to Luna who was the first to snap out of it.
"Hey wait a minute! Lisa did you put hidden cameras in the bathroom again?!" she asked angrily and glaring at the four year old.
Lisa looked nervously at all her sisters while they did the same. "Uh...nooooooooo." she said with a nervous smile and looking to her right and left.
Her sisters all made a mental note to double check the bathroom in the future before they all turned their attention back to the screen. Lincoln was still on talking with Ronnie Anne and things seemed to have gotten better.
"So Sid and I are a bit bummed that our favorite skate park will be closed for the next couple of months but we're both really excited when it reopens because there's going to be a brand new half pipe added which is just awesome." she explained.
"Lynn would be all over that let me tell you." he replied.
"Hey yeah, come to think of it she and I never had our race." Ronnie Anne remarked with a smirk.
"Maybe next time I come over she can come too." he suggested with a smile. "I'm sure she'd love to check out your favorite skate park and race with you. She turns everything into a competition." he told her.
"So how about you? How's school been lately?" she asked.
Lincoln leaned back in his chair. "It's fine. Most days are the same but fine." he answered. "Math, history, the usual subjects and halfway through I have lunch with Clyde, Rusty, Liam, Zach and Stella. Same as always." he told her.
The last name caught her attention. "Stella? Who's she?" she asked.
"Oh, Stella's a new girl at school." he answered. "The guys and I met her a week and a half ago and we clicked instantly. She's so much fun to hang out with. I hope you can meet her some...what?" he asked when he noticed Ronnie Anne glaring at him. "What?" he asked not getting her staring.
She swiveled in her chair with her arms crossed. "Nothing." she replied.
"Ronnie Anne what? What's wrong? Did I say something wrong?" he asked when a thought dawned on him. "Wait, you don't seriously think..." he said before she cut him off.
"The way you were talking about her moments ago, you sure sound like you do." she snapped.
"I like her as a friend sure but not like that!" he tried explaining. "She's just a friend Ronnie Anne, you're my girlfriend you know that." he told her.
"And it must be nice to have a friend you really like who lives closer, just in case right?!" she asked getting angry.
"Where did that come from?!" he shouted. "You're jumping to the wrong conclusion! Why are you getting so upset over this?!" he asked getting frustrated.
"Oh! So I'm the one who's at fault here?!" she snapped.
"That's not what I meant!" he yelled back.
Ronnie Anne was silent for a second before letting out a sigh. "I gotta go." she finally said coldly.
"Ronnie Anne." he said worried now.
"Bye Lincoln." she said before shutting her laptop and ending the call, leaving him alone and looking at a blank screen.
Lincoln let his frustration boil over and he slammed his laptop closed too. "Fine!" he yelled before crossing his arms. "This was stupid, this whole boyfriend/girlfriend idea was a huge mistake. I don't care anymore. I don't care if Ronnie Anne ever calls me back again." he said angrily.
[Narrator Speaks In French Accent] "Twelve Seconds Later"
"WHAT HAVE I DONE?!" Lincoln shouted before falling forward with his head landing on the laptop and crying loudly.
Now in the Loud Family, the girls have a meter that is tied to their brother. It's called the overprotective-of-our-only-brother meter. The very moment they heard Lincoln cry out and begin sobbing the needle on said meter had broken off. Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa and Lily immediately ran to his bedroom and crashed through the door to see him with his head laying over his crossed arms and crying.
"What's wrong Linc?" Lynn asked placing her hand on his shoulder.
"I messed everything up!" he said looking back up to his older sister. "Ronnie Anne hates me now, I just know it." he sobbed.
"Awww, it's not your fault Linky." Leni said stepping inside to try and comfort her brother. "We sa-" she began she was cut off by Luan who gently elbowed her so as not to spill the beans.
They didn't want him to know that they were doing more than just eavesdropping. They were watching the whole thing through a hidden camera. "Why don't you tell us the whole story?" Luna suggested taking a seat on his bed.
Lincoln laid on his bed. Leni sat to her brother's left and let him rest his head on her lap. Luna sat to his right and hugged one of her legs to her chest. Luan sat in Lincoln's computer chair and Lynn took her place next to Luna. The twins sat on the floor next to Lucy and both Lisa and Lily were on their brothers bed with their older siblings. Now some of his sisters already knew what happened thanks to Lisa's hidden camera but they didn't say anything. Lincoln went ahead and gave them the whole story. The fact that he was struggling to make time for everyone now was something they felt sorry about. They enjoyed the time they spent with their brother but they didn't want it to cut into the time he was having with his girlfriend.
Especially since it was now causing such a strain on their relationship. And then there was how Ronnie Anne reacted to Stella. "Awww, it's okay Linky. It was just a misunderstanding." Leni told him while gently running her fingers through his hair.
Lincoln let out a sigh. "But she sounded so angry and it didn't help out at all that I snapped back at her." he replied sounding really depressed.
"Dude you both had a fight. All couples do." Luna told him. "Sam and I have had some arguments in the past. Heck, even Mom and Dad have argued in the past. You guys will be fine." she explained.
"Yeah, I'm sure she just needs some time to cool down and when she's ready she'll call you back." Luan said trying to cheer him up.
"And look, if you need to make more time for your girlfriend you don't need our permission." Leni told him.
"You guys are okay with it?" he asked.
"It's not gonna kill us if you have to tell us no from time to time." Lynn answered.
"We can only wish." Lucy remarked.
Suddenly the front door was kicked open and the kids could hear their oldest sister scream to the top of her lungs. "TWERP!" Lori yelled so loudly that the house practically shook.
They all rushed from Lincoln's room to the stairs and looked to see her standing at the bottom and she was a mess. Lori's hair was disheveled, her eyes were swollen from crying, her makeup was running because of all the tears she'd been crying and she looked furiously at her brother.
"Uh, Lori...is everything okay?" Leni asked her nervously.
"You are a monster!" she yelled pointing at Lincoln.
"What did I do?!" he asked back both shocked and offended.
"You hurt Ronnie Anne's feelings!" she shouted back angrily. Her lips then started trembling and tears began welling up in her eyes again. "And Boo Boo Bear broke up with Meeeeeheeheeheeheehee!" she cried as she was barely able to finish the sentence.
Lincoln and the girls were all surprised to hear that and all walked downstairs to do their best and try to comfort their sister. "Lori I'm sorry this happened between you and Bobby but I didn't mean to hurt Ronnie Anne. She and I had a fight over our last skype call and it didn't end so well." he said with a sympathetic expression and rubbing the back of his neck.
"Liar!" she snapped shocking everyone. "Bobby told me that Ronnie Anne told him that you were calling her every mean name in the book! And he told me that he couldn't date someone who's little brother hurt his little sister as badly as you did!" she yelled angrily.
"What?! That's not true at all!" Lincoln argued back, offended at the accusation.
"Bobby wouldn't lie to me!" she snapped back with her hands on her hips. "And are you calling Ronnie Anne a liar?!" she asked angrily.
"I'm not calling her anything of the sort!" he shouted back.
"Guys, guys please calm down!" Leni urged as she was worried about what would happen if things got out of hand.
Both of them were too busy fighting to listen to their sister. "This is all your fault!" Lori yelled pointing a finger at her little brother.
"Lori that's not fair! I'm your brother, why are you so quick to believe them over me?!" he asked her getting really angry and hurt.
Luna stepped in between her siblings facing her older sister. "Lincoln's right Dude. I know you're upset about what happened between you and Bobby but blood is thicker than water Bruh!" she told her in defense of their little brother.
"At least hear Lincoln's side of the story before you jump to conclusions." Lucy recommended.
"Yeah Lori, you know if you were Lincoln's place you'd want our support." Lola added.
"Exactly!" Lana replied, completely agreeing with her twin for once.
The older blonde was quiet for a moment but she crossed her arms and sighed before finally responding. "Fine, I'll hear you out Twerp." she said still looking pretty irritated.
So Lincoln gave his side of the story. Basically the same story he told the rest of their sisters. How the call started off with a little drama because Lincoln was late again, then how Ronnie Anne was willing to just drop it, then how they talked regularly about how things were going for them and finally how Ronnie Anne reacted when she heard about his new friend at school who just happened to be another girl. And while he was willing to admit that he could've handled it better he did defend himself by saying that Ronnie Anne overreacted and wouldn't let him explain. Lori was skeptical at first because she really didn't want to believe that Bobby or Ronnie Anne were in the wrong but she had to admit her brother's story sounded a bit more believable.
Now for kids, especially in the Loud House teasing is perfectly natural and sometimes that meant some name calling. Even Lincoln used to call his sisters names on some occasions. Heck, even Lori and the other older sisters were guilty of name calling when they were all little girls and the younger sisters...well nothing else need be said about them really. However it was only ever teasing. Did they go overboard sometimes? Absolutely but it was never to intentionally hurt one another. And now that she really thought about it Lincoln resorting to name calling all for the sake of hurting Ronnie Anne's feelings was just out of character for him. He never did anything like that to any of his sisters. It was his older sisters who taught him better than that.
So it doesn't make any sense that he would do it to any other girl, let alone his girlfriend. After hearing her brother's side of the story Lori sighed again. "Fine, fine okay I believe you." she admitted. "But you had better make things right between you and Ronnie Anne again do you hear me?" she warned. "I am not going to let a fight between the both of you ruin my relationship with Boo Boo Bear. And if it literally means another double date at the fanciest restaurant in all of Michigan then you better believe that I will literally drag you there and make you treat her like Royalty." she told him firmly.
"Ugh, please no." he groaned. "Those double dates are so awkward." he complained.
"Then fix this Twerp!" she barked glaring daggers at him.
"Hey calm down Lori! You can't put your issues with Bobby on Lincoln." Lynn told her.
"Thank you Lynn." Lincoln replied smiling.
"Besides he'd probably only make it worse." she added.
"Exactly." he said before he fully processed what he heard her say. "Hey!" he said looking annoyed at her.
"Don't worry Lori, while Lincoln works things out with Ronnie Anne, we'll help you out with Bobby." Luan told her, gently placing her hand on her sister's shoulder.
"Like, definitely." Leni promised.
"Awww, thanks guys." she replied feeling genuinely touched by that. Suddenly she got another text and took a few moments to read it. "It's from Boo Boo Bear!" she said gleefully. "He wants us to get back together." she said in a dreamy way.
"Wow that was easy." Luna remarked.
"And alscho anticlimactic." Lisa commented.
"However he wants Lincoln to contact Ronnie Anne right now and to apologize to her." Lori added looking at him.
"What? She was the one who overreacted." he replied.
"Do it Twerp!" Lori yelled.
So a couple minutes later Lincoln was in his room again and setting his laptop up again. His sisters were all in the room with him because of course they all wanted to see how this played out. A minute later the screen showed Ronnie Anne sitting in her computer chair with her arms crossed and her giving Lincoln that annoyed look she gives him when she's still sore. Bobby was with her as well.
"Boo Boo Bear!" Lori said gleefully seeing him on screen.
"Hey Babe!" he smiled as well before reminding himself that he's still supposed to be angry at her and Lincoln. "Uh right. So, I believe that your brother has something he wants to tell my little sister?" he asked crossing his arms.
Lori gave her brother a stern look and he sighed before looking at his girlfriend. "Ronnie Anne, I'm sorry I haven't done a better job at trying to make it to our video chats on time and I'm sorry I gave you the wrong idea about me and Stella." he told her.
"And?" Lori asked with her hands on her hips and giving her brother a dirty look.
"What?" he asked looking back up at her.
"What what?" she asked back. "Aren't you sorry for hurting her feelings earlier?" she asked as if it was obvious.
"Lori I didn't mean give her the wrong idea but she's the one who overreacted!" he snapped back.
"Lincoln!" she yelled, shocked he would say that while her boyfriend and his little sister were watching the whole thing.
"How dare you accuse Ronnie Anne of overreacting when you're the one who insulted her!" Bobby yelled back over the screen.
It looked like things were boiling over when Ronne Anne finally snapped at her brother. "Give it a rest Bobby!" she yelled surprising him and everyone else. She then let out a sigh and looked away shyly. "Lincoln is right. I overreacted." she admitted looking slightly embarrassed. "I'm sorry I lied to you Bobby. Lincoln didn't call me any mean names at all. And I'm sorry I dragged you and Lori into our fight. This should've just stayed between me and him." she admitted.
Everyone was stunned and it was quiet for a couple of moments (which rarely happened in the Loud Family) when Luna was the one to finally break the silence. "Dudes, I think we should leave. Let's let Lincoln have some time alone with Ronnie Anne." she told them.
"But it was just getting good." Lola protested. All her siblings glared at her in response to that. "Ugh, fine." she replied getting the message.
"Hey Bobby, could you please?" Ronnie Anne began asking before he cut her off.
"Say no more, I'll leave you guys alone." he said leaving her room.
Out in the hallway, Lori got another text. She gasped and a big smile spread across her face. "Boo Boo Bear and I are back together." she said gleefully.
Alone at least, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were quiet for a moment before the young boy spoke up. "Ronnie Anne I'm sorry again for not handling things better. Especially with our skype calls. I promise I'll try harder to be on time for you." he told her.
"Thanks Lame-O." she smiled. "And I'm sorry again for how I reacted." she said rubbing the back of her neck. "I don't know why I acted the way I did but as soon as you brought up another girl you met at school and the way you were talking about her, I don't know I just..." she said trying to find the right words.
"Ronnie Anne you're my girlfriend." he said with a genuine smile. "Any other girl I meet or even ones I'm friends with won't change that. No matter who they are. You can trust me right?" he asked her.
She smiled. "Yeah, yeah I do." she answered. "If you say she's only a friend, then I believe you one hundred percent." she told him.
"Thanks. Besides, between you and me I think she already likes Liam." he said slightly whispering.
"Really? Does he know?" she asked back with genuine curiosity
"I've thought about telling him, but I think it'll be better if he figures it out." he answered.
A couple of days later things were already back to normal. However Lincoln has gained the confidence to tell his sisters no a little more often and in a respectful way when he has to talk with his girlfriend. And the girls seemed to be perfectly fine with it. And besides, not only are they more understanding of it they now have something to look forward to with each of their calls. After dinner Lincoln went to his room again and flipped open his laptop to begin another call. Sure enough, Ronnie Anne was there and she was glad to see he was on time again.
"What's up Lame-O?" she asked. "Glad to see you on time again."
"Hey Ronnie Anne. Just finished dinner. How was your day?" he asked sitting down while still watching the screen.
Down the hall and in Lori and Leni's room, all the girls except for Lori at the moment were gathered. The hidden camera that Lisa installed gave the girls a golden opportunity to watch how their brother's relationship with Ronnie Anne develops and grows. And if there's anymore drama between the two of them, they'll have a front row seat to it. This is another reason as to why the girls were a lot more understanding when Lincoln has had to tell them no lately. Seconds after the girls have taken their seats facing the large tv screen set up in the shared room, Lori came in with a large bowl of popcorn.
"What did I miss?!" she asked worrying if anything had happened while she wasn't around.
"They just started their call, you didn't miss anything." Lynn answered.
Lori quickly took her seat between Leni and Luan and the girls started grabbing handfuls of popcorn while they watched. Back in his room Lincoln was still talking with his girlfriend. "So I got some big news by the way." Ronnie Anne told him.
"Yeah? What's up?" he asked.
"Mom's coming back to Royal Woods to visit with some friends again. I want to ask her if I can come along so we can see each other again but we'd have to talk to your mom about it first." she told him.
"That's great!" he said excitedly. "Hey, maybe we can have another overnight and arrange a ride home for you. I'm sure Mom and Dad won't have a problem with it and the girls would love to see you again." he said before getting really nervous. "And, you know...it would be really cool to hang out with you again too." he said blushing a little bit.
Ronnie Anne smiled and blushed at that as well. After the first time she kissed him she got butterflies in her stomach at the thought of seeing him in person again. Back in Lori and Leni's room, the Loud Sisters all saw how the two of them reacted and were not only excited that she could be coming back really soon but were touched to see how the two of them were acting again.
"Awwwwww!" they all said looking at the big tv screen with fingers folded over their hearts. The moment was ruined however when out of nowhere a very loud, very long and suspiciously wet sound fart was heard by all of them, followed immediately by a rancid odor. It took the girls only half of a fraction of a second to know who the guilty culprit was. "LYNN!" they all shouted angrily while quickly covering their noses.
The thirteen year old gave her sisters an apologetic smile and rubbed the back of her neck. "Sorry guys, definitely Dad's tacos." she told them.
[Author's Notes] Hey so sorry for making you guys wait so bloody long for an update. I wanted to get this chapter up sooner but a million things were happening at once. One of them was I had a death in the family recently and I had to attend to that. Top that off with school and work and I never have as much time to write as I used to anymore. It sucks. But anyway, the next chapter will be Ronnie Anne helping Lincoln find his own special talent when she comes over. Feel free to guess what that will be.
Also, I have some other future The Loud House projects that I've talk about for future stories. I've told you about them before in the quick note I put up recently but a new one is actually an idea I wanted to try for awhile now. Have any of you read Avoiding Estrangement by The Overly Active Imagination? It's a really good one and I highly recommend it if you want Loud House stories with some more drama in them. But I've talked with him/her and I've been granted permission to write one like it with a similar premise one the condition it's not an exact copy. So definitely keep an eye out for it in the future.
Thank you all so much for reading my stories, please leave me a Review and let me know what you thought of it and if you want to chat with me, shoot me a PM as I love talking with my readers and I try to respond to my messages whenever I can.
This is Dragon1990 signing out :-)
