Sayori: "This is your best one so far."
"It's amazing to see how our opinions on these poems change as soon as you remove the poem game mechanics." Sayori said, remembering her earlier comment on the poem.
Sayori: "It's really nice, MoNatSaYuri~"
MoNatSaYuri: "Er-Thanks."
Sayori: "Mhm~"
MoNatSaYuri: "…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Sayori, you've been a little quiet today."
MoNatSaYuri: "Is everything alright?"
Sayori: "E-Eh?"
"'Oh god, he realized I'm planning a prank!'" Natsuki joked.
"'Now I'll never be able to get those balloons into his desk.'" Sayori added.
Sayori: "Of course!"
Sayori: "Everything is fine~"
Sayori: "Maybe I'm just a little tired today."
Sayori: "Ehehe."
MoNatSaYuri: "Do you want to nap or something?"
Sayori: "No, that's silly!"
"'So what's the problem?'" Yuri asked in a deep voice.
Sayori: "Don't worry about me, okay?"
Sayori: "I only want to see smiles on your faces~"
MoNatSaYuri: "Well, alright…"
Sayori: "Hey, MoNatSaYuri…"
Sayori: "I'm still a little surprised."
Sayori: "I really thought you would try writing your poems like the way Yuri does…"
Sayori: "Or even Natsuki…"
Sayori: "But in the end…"
MoNatSaYuri: "… Yeah."
MoNatSaYuri: "I guess you're the one who likes this one the most."
"GOD DAMN IT!" Natsuki yelled as she smacked the table.
"Of all the days we could have gotten a me poem." Sayori said, tugging at her hair as she gritted her teeth.
"You just need to get in the way of everything, don't you Monika?" Yuri asked the club president.
"I'm sorry, okay?" Monika asked. "I didn't mean to, I swear."
Silence hung over the group before Yuri heaved out a heavy sigh. "When we're done with this video, we're officially inaugurating Sayori as the club president." The purple-haired girl said.
"We've been putting that off for way too long." Natsuki remarked.
Sayori: "…Why?"
Sayori: "You don't want to get closer with everyone else?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Wait!"
MoNatSaYuri: "Of course I do!"
"On a lighter note," Sayori began. "I'd like to imagine Yuri and Natsuki discussing their poems and then this guy just goes, 'WAIT!'"
"Yeah," Yuri chuckled. "'I was trying to get this poem to-' 'OF COURSE I DO!'"
MoNatSaYuri: "But that doesn't mean I need to try so hard to impress them."
"You'd end up humiliating yourself anyway." Natsuki snarked.
MoNatSaYuri: "I still understand you the most, Sayori."
MoNatSaYuri: "I know you have to sometimes put up with me."
MoNatSaYuri: "And I have to sometimes put up with you."
"Great word choice there, buddy." Monika snarked.
MoNatSaYuri: "But we have…a wavelength or something."
"Again, not at all." Natsuki said as the camera zoomed in on Sayori's face, bit-crunched beeping growing louder from nothing.
MoNatSaYuri: "And this is how the poem came out."
"'I was also on a sugar rush when I wrote it.'" Yuri said.
MoNatSaYuri: "Sometimes it feels like you're the only exciting thing in my life."
"Oh-ho-ho, just you wait." Natsuki chuckled.
MoNatSaYuri: "So sometimes it's just easier to write when thinking about you."
MoNatSaYuri: "…Sayori?"
"'Come to think of it,'" Sayori began, rubbing her chin in fake thought. "'A nap would be nice.'"
Sayori: "N-No…"
"'I bet Natsuki would make a good teddy bear.'" Sayori continued.
Sayori: "MoNatSaYuri…"
Sayori: "I don't…deserve this…"
Sayori: "You're too nice to me…"
Sayori: "Why are you doing this…?"
Sayori has trouble keeping her voice steady, all of a sudden.
Sayori: "If you had fun with everyone else instead…"
Sayori: "This would be…so much easier!"
"Alright, Sayori…" Natsuki began before gesturing for the girl to scoot closer to her. "Come here."
Hesitantly, Sayori did as she was told. Once her chair had bumped against Natsuki's, the pink-haired girl wrapped her arms around the ginger, shifting into Sayori's lap before guiding the girl's head onto her shoulder. Sayori sat with wide eyes before she brought her hands around Natsuki. "Does that feel better?" Natsuki asked.
"Yeah." Sayori nodded. "You do make a good teddy bear."
MoNatSaYuri: "Sayori…!"
I glance around the room to make sure nobody has noticed this.
MoNatSaYuri: "Sayori."
MoNatSaYuri: "I probably never said this before, but I don't understand what you're feeling right now."
MoNatSaYuri: "Tell me what will cheer you up."
Sayori shakes her head.
She sniffles and keeps shaking her head.
Finally, she gathers herself and puts on a smile.
Sayori: "It's nothing, MoNatSaYuri."
Sayori: "It's just a little raincloud."
Sayori: "I'm sorry you had to see that. Ahahaha!"
Sayori: "I promise it won't happen again."
Sayori: "Just smile for everyone, okay?"
Sayori: "That's all that matters."
Sayori: "Go play with everyone else."
Sayori: "I'm gonna go home a little bit early today~"
MoNatSaYuri: "Sayori-"
Sayori: "Tell Monika I wasn't feeling well, okay?"
Sayori: "I'll see you tomorrow~"
Before I can say anything else, Sayori cheerfully walks out of the classroom, humming to herself.
*Scene fades to black before fading back in on the Clubroom*
Who should I show my poem to next?
[Yuri]
[Monika]
"Okay, Natsuki, you can stop hugging me now." Sayori said. "The scene's over."
"No way." Natsuki shook her head. "You clearly need this hug."
"… Alright." Sayori sighed before reaching for the die. "Even for Yuri, odd for-" Dropping the die on the table, Sayori let out a sigh before reaching for the mouse. "Monika it is, then."
*Scene fades to black before fading back in on the Clubroom*
Monika: "Hi MoNatSaYuri~"
Monika: "Have you thought about what you want to submit to perform at the festival?"
"'Why yes I have.'" Sayori began. "'It's a little piece I like to call, 'AHHHHHHHHH!'"
"… Right." Natsuki groaned. "In. My. Ear."
MoNatSaYuri: "Well…"
Being in this club is one thing, but performing in front of a bunch of people…
MoNatSaYuri: "…I'll have to give it some more thought."
Monika: "Okay, no pressure!"
Monika: "But whatever you do, I'm sure it'll turn out great."
"Well, I suppose he usually makes a fool of himself." Yuri joked.
Monika: "It would also make me happy to see."
"Then we're definitely calling in sick." Natsuki said.
Monika: "Ahaha!"
Monika: "Anyway, let's take a look at today's poem!"
MoNatSaYuri: "Sure…"
I let Monika take the poem I'm holding in my hands.
Monika: "…"
Monika: "Ahaha!"
"'A strawberry skips through what?'" Monika joked. "'MoNatSaYuri, you are a running riot!'"
Monika: "It's kind of funny…"
"'I was going for bittersweet.'" Yuri stated in a deep voice.
MoNatSaYuri: "How so?"
Monika: "No, not the poem…"
Monika: "I mean, it's funny how your poems and Sayori's poems have been getting more and more similar to each other every day."
Monika: "I'm surprised you're so in sync with her."
"I'm surprised Sayori's right foot is so in sync with her left." Natsuki quipped.
"Well, it won't be after this." Sayori said. "I think my leg's falling asleep."
Monika: "Then again, you've been spending a lot of time together lately, haven't you?"
"Eh, not really." Natsuki said.
"Yeah," Yuri said. "If anything, it would seem as though we were avoiding her. What is Monika talking about here?"
"I-uh…" Monika began before popping her lips. "I might have done a bit more damage to the game's code than I thought. This seems like the script for the Sayori route."
"…" Natsuki heaved out a sigh as she pinched the bridge of her nose over Sayori's shoulder. "Monika…" Natsuki growled. "Why do you always need to wreck everything!?"
"Hey, you try setting all this up for recording." Monika stated, gesturing to the room around her before crossing her arms. "Tell me how easy it is."
"Should we stop and try to fix it, or…" Sayori began asking.
"No, let's just…" Natsuki said before sighing. "Let's just keep going. We're almost at an hour anyway, we'll fix everything after that…" Natsuki heaved out another sigh as she shook her head. "God damn it, there goes the comment section."
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah, I guess you could say that…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Although we grew up as best friends, I haven't been seeing as much of her this past year…"
MoNatSaYuri: "But since I joined the club, we've been spending a lot of time together again."
Monika: "I see, I see~"
Monika: "That reminds me…"
Monika: "About how Sayori's been a little bit off today…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah? Did she tell you something?"
Monika: "Ah…"
Monika: "Well…"
Monika: "MoNatSaYuri, you haven't been flirting with her, have you?"
MoNatSaYuri: "O-Of course not!"
MoNatSaYuri: "I've been treating her like I always do."
"'With neglect.'" Yuri joked. "'And now she's really depressed all of a sudden. I don't see what's wrong with her.'"
Monika: "Alright."
Monika: "Just making sure~"
Monika: "I know how much you care about her…"
Monika: "It would be terrible if something bad happened to her, so keep an eye on her."
"If you look closely, you can see Monika's sprite wink." Natsuki joked.
Monika: "Sayori's been acting so much happier ever since you joined the club."
Monika: "What could have happened all of a sudden…?"
MoNatSaYuri: "…"
Monika: "…Well, never mind."
Monika: "This really isn't the time to be talking about this…"
Monika: "Anyway…!"
"Are you trying to meat an ellipses quota?" Yuri asked.
Monika: "I'll share my poem with you now, alright?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Er…"
"'Monika, this is your bra.'" Natsuki joked.
MoNatSaYuri: "Alright…"
*A piece of paper appears on the screen, showing Monika's poem.*
The Lady who Knows Everything
"'Except how to properly capitalize a title.'" Yuri joked.
An old tale tells of a lady who wanders Earth.
The Lady who Knows Everything.
A beautiful lady who has found every answer,
All meaning,
All purpose,
And all that was ever sought.
And here I am,
a feather
Lost adrift the sky, victim of the currents of the wind.
Day after day, I search.
I search with little hope, knowing legends don't exist.
But when all else has failed me,
When all others have turned away,
The legend is all that remains - the last dim star glimmering in the twilit sky.
Until one day, the wind ceases to blow.
I fall.
And I fall and fall, and fall even more.
Gentle as a feather.
A dry quill, expressionless.
But a hand catches me between the thumb and forefinger.
The hand of a beautiful lady.
I look at her eyes and find no end to her gaze.
The Lady who Knows Everything knows what I am thinking.
Before I can speak, she responds in a hollow voice.
"I have found every answer, all of which amount to nothing.
There is no meaning.
There is no purpose.
And we seek only the impossible.
I am not your legend.
Your legend does not exist."
And with a breath, she blows me back afloat, and I pick up a gust of wind.
"Huh, that poem wasn't half bad." Yuri noted.
"You're right." Natsuki said with a nod. "It was all bad!" With that, Natsuki and Yuri began chuckling as the paper faded
Monika: "You know…"
Monika: "I feel like learning and looking for answers are the sorts of things that give life meaning."
Monika: "Not to get too philosophical or anything…"
"Too late." Natsuki and Yuri said.
Monika: "But it was kind of on my mind, so that's what I wrote about."
MoNatSaYuri: "I see…"
MoNatSaYuri: "I never really put much thought into it."
"'I just break into my parents' liquor cabinet and see what comes out.'" Yuri joked.
Monika: "In a way, it's almost paradoxical."
Monika: "Because if we had all the answers, wouldn't the world start to lose its meaning?"
"From where I sit…" Natsuki began before glancing around the room. "Not really."
MoNatSaYuri: "You know, there's one thing I noticed…"
MoNatSaYuri: "It seems like everyone in the club prefers writing about things that are more sad than happy."
Monika: "Ahaha. Are you surprised?"
"'We are a bunch of nepotists after all.'" Natsuki joked.
"No, you mean, 'nihilists.'" Yuri corrected.
Monika: "I mean, if everything was okay…"
"'We wouldn't have hot dogs.'" Sayori joked.
Monika: "We wouldn't really have anything to write about, would we?"
Monika: "Humans are two-dimensional creatures."
Monika: "I think you'd know that better than anyone."
"He's not even one-dimensional." Sayori stated.
MoNatSaYuri: "You mean one-dimensional…?"
"Wow," Sayori said as her eyes widened. "Maybe we are in sync."
Monika: "Ah…yeah, that!"
Monika: "Anyway…"
Monika: "Here's Monika's Writing Tip of the Day!"
Monika: "Are you ever too shy to share your writing because you're afraid it's not that good?"
Monika: "It can be really disheartening to get a lukewarm response to something you put so much into."
"'But just remember,'" Natsuki began. "'Someone approved of Rise of the Skywalker.'"
~And Cruella and the original CW Powerpuffs script.~
Monika: "But if you find other people who enjoy writing, then sharing becomes a lot easier!"
Monika: "Because instead of just telling you that your writing is good, or okay, or bad…"
"'They can write stories so terrible it raises your self-esteem.'" Yuri joked.
Monika: "They'll want to focus more on everything that went into it, and the things you can work on."
"'Remember kids,'" Sayori began. "'If they aren't writers themselves, they have no right to judge your work.'"
Monika: "It's much more encouraging that way, and it will make you want to continue improving."
Monika: "It's almost like having your own little Literature Cub, don't you think?"
"You mean a bunch of people you can psychologically torture?" Natsuki asked.
Monika: "…That's my advice for today!"
Monika: "Thanks for listening~"
*Scene fades to black before fading back in on the Clubroom*
Who should I show my poem to next?
[Yuri]
"And last but not least…" Sayori said before selecting the only option left.
*Scene fades to black before fading back in on the Clubroom*
Yuri: "…"
"'And I thought the last one was a trip.'" Yuri said.
Yuri: "Well done, MoNatSaYuri."
Yuri: "You've definitely improved your writing over the course of these few days."
"'This one at least has a consistent tone to it.'" Monika joked.
Yuri: "Has my advice been helpful to you?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah… Definitely."
Yuri: "I'm glad…"
"'This is a new experience for me.'" Natsuki joked. "'I've never been happy to have talked to someone.'"
Yuri: "Sharing our writing like this…"
Yuri: "It's a lot more fun and rewarding than I anticipated."
"'It's like those naked apron things anime are full of.'" Natsuki joked.
Yuri: "I need to remember to thank Monika…"
"Still waiting on that, by the way." Monika stated.
"Keep waiting." Yuri remarked.
Yuri: "I think we all felt a little awkward at first."
Yuri: "But now it seems like everyone is enjoying sharing their writing and seeing what others think."
MoNatSaYuri: "I guess I can't really disagree."
MoNatSaYuri: "I was afraid this whole thing would be a chore…"
But it's a great way for me to spend some personal time with all the girls in the club.
MoNatSaYuri: "But it's been fun getting to know everyone and their writing."
MoNatSaYuri: "And I guess doing some writing myself…"
"If you can call it that." Monika stated.
Yuri: "Well…"
Yuri: "Have you learned anything about yourself, MoNatSaYuri?"
"'Yeah,'" Natsuki nodded. "'I'm a great poet when I'm high on cocaine.'"
MoNatSaYuri: "Eh?"
Yuri: "Well, you know how I like to say that writing is a very personal way to get in touch with yourself…"
Yuri: "In the end, it doesn't matter if you're a good writer, or a bad writer."
Yuri: "And even my opinions are just opinions…you know?"
Yuri: "As always, I believe what's most important is exploring and discovering yourself."
MoNatSaYuri: "That's comforting."
"'But when I discovered that guy, I kicked him out pretty quick.'" Sayori joked.
MoNatSaYuri: "I'm kind of afraid of disappointing you in some way or another."
"'I'm kind of afraid of disappearing you in some-'" Monika read before shaking her head. "No, wait, 'Disappointing you.' That makes more sense."
"Yeah," Yuri stated. "You're not afraid of disappearing me. Quite the opposite."
Yuri: "Eh…?"
Yuri: "Why me…?"
"'Because you have the biggest boobs.'" Natsuki joked.
MoNatSaYuri: "Well, you're always sophisticated with your writing and have the most advice to share."
"I give you a new tip every day!" Monika pointed out.
Yuri: "Is that so…?"
"No, it's not!" Monika almost yelled. "I'm right here!"
"No one cares, Monika." Natsuki stated.
Yuri: "…"
Yuri thinks for a good minute.
"'Thankfully, she didn't think for a bad one.'" Sayori joked. "'Who knows what would come out of that.'"
Yuri: "…That must be terrible."
MoNatSaYuri: "Eh?"
Yuri: "For me to have become someone whose opinion is fearsome…"
Yuri: "How unlikable of me…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yuri…"
MoNatSaYuri: "It's not as bad as you're making it sound in your head."
"'It's much worse.'" Sayori joked. "'Monika's the one I'm afraid of.'"
MoNatSaYuri: "I just meant that I respect your opinion."
Yuri: "I see…"
Yuri: "I'm sorry that I always overthink and come to those sorts of conclusions…"
Yuri: "I'm just…a little too used to it."
MoNatSaYuri: "Overthinking?"
"'Being right.'" Yuri joked.
Yuri: "Being disliked."
MoNatSaYuri: "Yuri…"
Yuri: "What…what am I saying?"
Yuri: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring that up…"
Yuri: "Let's move on…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Alright…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Do you want to share your poem now?"
Yuri: "Okay…"
Yuri: "Here."
*A piece of paper appears on the screen, showing Yuri's poem.*
Beach
A marvel millions of years in the making.
Where the womb of Earth chaotically meets the surface.
Under a clear blue sky, an expanse of bliss—
But beneath gray rolling clouds, an endless enigma.
The easiest world to get lost in
Is one where everything can be found.
One can only build a sand castle where the sand is wet.
But where the sand is wet, the tide comes.
Will it gently lick at your foundations until you give in?
Or will a sudden wave send you crashing down in the blink of an eye?
Either way, the outcome is the same.
Yet we still build sand castles.
I stand where the foam wraps around my ankles.
Where my toes squish into the sand.
The salty air is therapeutic.
The breeze is gentle, yet powerful.
I sink my toes into the ultimate boundary line, tempted by the foamy tendrils.
Turn back, and I abandon my peace to erode at the shore.
Drift forward, and I return to Earth forevermore.
"… Hang on, I just realized." Natsuki began. "Is this a poem about a suicide?"
"It-" Yuri stuttered. "It was supposed to be an-an explanation of my understanding of life."
"Then why does the last line make it sound like you're walking into the ocean?" Natsuki asked.
"I"m just-I'm just at the brink, okay?" Yuri asked.
Yuri: "Um…"
Yuri: "I'm aware that the beach is kind of an inane thing to write about."
Yuri: "But I did my best to take a metaphorical approach to it."
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, Natsuki already told me about it."
Yuri: "S-She did…?"
"'Oh god, did she tell you about all our ideas before we settled on beaches?'" Monika joked.
Yuri: "She didn't say anything weird, did she?"
Yuri: "She just wanted us to write about the same topic again…"
Yuri: "I suppose to better compare the differences in our writing styles…or thought processes."
Yuri: "Anyway, it was here idea…!"
"Didn't Natsuki say it was Yuri's idea?" Monika asked before she and Sayori turned to Natsuki and Yuri.
"… Well…" Yuri began. "… We kind of… Suggested it at the exact same time…"
"We tried doing a collaborative piece…" Natsuki said before sighing. "But it was like trying to fit a round peg into an electrical outlet."
Yuri: "Knowing her, it's no surprise that she'd want to do something like that."
Yuri: "She probably just wants to show off."
Yuri: "It's not like I have a particular interest in her writing style…"
"'It's not like I like her or anything!'" Natsuki joked. "'Baka!'"
"And I thought Natsuki was the tsundere." Sayori chuckled.
Yuri: "I just went with her request."
Yuri: "But…"
Yuri: "Well, I suppose it's not so bad to write about something simple on occasion."
Yuri: "It can be refreshing, you know?"
Yuri: "It's good for me to calm my thoughts once in a while."
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah…I think I agree."
MoNatSaYuri: "Thanks for sharing."
*Scene fades to black before fading back in on the Clubroom*
"'And now, Ninja Vanish!'" Sayori called out.
Monika: "…Okay, you three!"
Monika: "We're all done sharing poems, right?"
Monika: "Why don't we start figuring out-"
Natsuki: "Hold on a second!"
"'I just realized I was showing everyone the wrong poem!'" Sayori joked.
Natsuki: "Is it just me, or did you say something strange just now?"
Monika: "Eh…?"
Yuri: "Something did sound a bit unusual…"
Yuri: "That's right."
Yuri: "You deviated from your usual catchphrase when addressing the club."
Monika: "C-Catchphrase?"
"Eh, don't worry, Monika." Natsuki began. "Every good villain has one."
Monika: "I don't have a catchphrase…"
Natsuki: "Jeez…"
Natsuki: "Why is the mood so weird today?"
Natsuki: "Look, even Yuri isn't immune to it."
"'First me and Yuri get along, and now Monika skips her catchphrase.'" Sayori joked. "'What's going on here?'"
Yuri: "Uu…"
"Don't you dare." Natsuki said as she placed a hand on Sayori's mouth.
Yuri: "Stagnating air is common foreshadowing that something terrible is about to happen…"
MoNatSaYuri: "In your books, maybe!"
"'In mine, it means the guy is about to fall into the girl's chest.'" Natsuki joked.
MoNatSaYuri: "Look, the only thing different is that Sayori isn't here."
Yuri: "Ah…"
Yuri: "…It seems you're right."
Monika: "Sigh…"
Monika: "Sayori always helps lighten the mood a little bit, doesn't she?"
Monika: "It's almost like everyone's balance is thrown off a little when she's not around…"
"Oh, you have no idea." Natsuki remarked.
"We'll get to that in Act 2." Yuri stated.
Natsuki: "Where the heck did she run off to, anyway?"
Natsuki: "I thought she just went to pee."
Yuri: "Natsuki, please show some decency…"
Natsuki: "Oh, come on."
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah, she actually wasn't feeling to well and went home early…"
Yuri: "Is that so…?"
"'I didn't know Sayori had a home.'" Natsuki joked.
Yuri: "I hope she's alright…"
Natsuki: "Seriously?"
Natsuki: "Of all the times to not go home with her, you pick the time she's not feeling well?"
"'If Sayori told me she wasn't feeling well, I'd carry her home.'" Natsuki stated.
"She probably could, too." Sayori remarked.
Natsuki: "So much for you two being all lovey-dovey."
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah-no!"
MoNatSaYuri: "First of all, stop misunderstanding my friendship with Sayori!"
MoNatSaYuri: "And second…"
MoNatSaYuri: "She's kind of been avoiding me today, so I didn't want to force it…"
"I wouldn't give her a choice." Natsuki said.
Yuri: "Hooooh?"
"'Hold on, I'll ask the owls about this.'" Sayori joked. "'Hoo? Hoo?'"
MoNatSaYuri: "That curious expression coming from Yuri, of all people?"
Monika: "Calm down, guys…!"
Monika: "I talked to her earlier, and everything is fine."
MoNatSaYuri: "What did she say…?"
"'Something about being deleted before the festival.'" Natsuki joked. "'Ah-I mean-!'"
Monika: "Anyway, we need to figure out the rest of the festival preparations, so…"
Monika: "Let's decide what everyone will be doing this weekend."
"'That's all a direct quote, by the way.'" Yuri joked.
Natsuki: "I already know what I'm doing!"
"'I'm digging a grave for my reputation!'" Yuri said, impersonating her friend's voice.
"I'd need a reputation before I can do that." Natsuki snarked.
Monika: "That's right."
Monika: "Natsuki will be making cupcakes."
Monika: "But we might need a lot of them, and different flavors…"
"Eh, just make them all vanilla and drop some food dye into the batter." Natsuki shrugged. "No one will notice."
Monika: "Can you handle that all by yourself, Natsuki?"
Natsuki: "Challenge accepted!"
Monika: "And as for myself…"
Monika: "I'm going to be printing and assembling all the poetry pamphlets."
"So I only need to make cupcakes for us four, eh?" Natsuki joked.
Monika: "Sayori will be helping me design them."
Monika: "And as for Yuri…"
Monika: "…"
Monika: "Yuri, you can…"
Monika: "Ah… Um…"
Natsuki: "…?"
Monika: "Guys…"
Monika: "Can you help me come up with something for Yuri…?"
"'Well, if you want to get people to attend,'" Natsuki began. "'What we should do is have her strike poses outside of the clubroom in a bikini. That's bound to get people to attend.'"
"It's also bound to get me suspended." Yuri remarked.
Yuri: "I…"
Yuri: "I'm useless…"
"Hey, I'm the lesbian here." Natsuki joked.
Monika: "N-No!"
Monika: "That's not it at all!"
Monika: "You're the most talented person here, you know!"
Natsuki: "…"
"'Well, I mean,'" Natsuki began. "'In a certain regard.'"
Monika: "N-Now Natsuki's pouting, too?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Jeez, even I can tell now…"
MoNatSaYuri: "I guess I never gave Sayori enough credit, but I can tell things are harder on you when she's not around."
Monika: "Ah…"
Monika: "That may be the case…"
Monika: "But if I can't also be a leader on my own, then I won't grow as a person."
Monika: "So, Yuri…!"
Monika: "You have beautiful handwriting, you know?"
"'I'm putting you in charge of the pamphlets.'" Sayori joked. "'I want them all individually written by hand.'"
Monika: "So you should make some banners and decorations to help set the atmosphere."
Yuri: "Atmosphere…?"
Yuri: "Um, about that…"
Yuri: "I…"
Yuri: "I love atmosphere!"
"'Particularly this one.'" Monika said. "'The oxygen, nitrogen, and CO2 levels are just right.'"
Yuri's expression suddenly changes as she stares at her desk in focus and starts nodding to herself.
MoNatSaYuri: "Your mind is already racing, I see…"
Monika: "That's great!"
Monika; "You'll be a wonderful help, Yuri."
Monika: "But anyway…"
Monika: "That just leaves you, MoNatSaYuri."
"He can be the schedule board." Sayori suggested.
MoNatSaYuri: "The one who is truly useless."
"'Not necessarily.'" Yuri began. "'I'm thinking of a theme, and you can make a great chair for us to recite on.'"
Monika: "Ahaha! Don't say that."
Monika: "In fact…"
Monika: "Both Natsuki and Yuri have some pretty heavy tasks to handle."
Monika: "It would probably go a long way to give one of them a hand."
Monika: "You could always help me out, as well…"
Monika: "I would be really appreciative of that."
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah-"
MoNatSaYuri: "That's…"
Is Monika suggesting I spend the weekend with one of my club members?"
"No, she's suggesting you take a hike." Natsuki snarked.
How on Earth are they going to respond to a suggestion like that…?
"'Well, I guess I could use a slave.'" Natsuki joked.
"'Someone to test the new makeup on wouldn't hurt.'" Yuri mused.
Yuri: "Ah…"
Yuri: "I…suppose I wouldn't mind a bit of help…"
Natsuki: "Well, even if you don't know how to bake, there's always some dirty work I could give to you."
Natsuki: "It's not like Monika's going to give me a choice, and you shouldn't be sitting on your butt anyway…"
Natsuki tried to mumble a bunch of excuses like that.
Yuri: "Um…"
Yuri: "If I recall, Natsuki…"
Yuri: "You mentioned that you would like to handle the baking on your own."
"No, I said I could do it all on my own." Natsuki argued. "And it's not like another set of hands would slow it down."
Yuri: "MoNatSaYuri may not like to be around if you only make him out to be a nuisance…"
Yuri: "So therefore…"
Yuri: "He may be more suited to assisting with the decorations."
Natsuki: "Hold on! I never said that!"
Natsuki: "How hard could it be to make a few decorations, anyway?"
"'I mean, you can get some at the grocery store!'" Natsuki said. "Wait, what?"
"'The grocery store?!'" Sayori laughed.
"We'll be hanging up celery and sausage ropes." Monika chuckled.
"Just throw some pies at the wall and see what sticks." Yuri joked.
"Yeah," Natsuki chuckled. "Paint the place with jelly and peanut butter." The Literature Club continued into another round of laughter as Natsuki collected herself. "We'll line the door with breads," Natsuki continued. "And-and decorate the desks with fruits."
"Now we just need dairy and we have all our major food groups." Sayori sighed.
"… Cheese air fresheners?" Yuri suggested.
"... Come to think of it," Monika noted as the screen faded to black. "We would need to clean all that up."
