MoNatSaYuri: "It's going to be fun, right?"

"I mean, with the disaster we have planned." Natsuki snarked.

Sayori: "Yeah."
MoNatSaYuri: "How would you like for me to spend it all with you?"
Sayori: "U-Um…"

"'But then how would anyone know who's supposed to perform.'" Sayori joked.

Sayori: "Ah-"
MoNatSaYuri: "It's what I want."
MoNatSaYuri: "I promise."
Sayori: "I…"
Sayori: "I think that would be nice, then…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah."
Sayori wipes her eyes.
If I could spend the day here, I would.

"Well, I mean…" Yuri began. "There's nothing stopping us from making decorations with Sayori."

MoNatSaYuri: "Of all days, this has to be the one where I have other plans…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Maybe I should cancel-"
Sayori: "No, don't-!"
Sayori: "Please don't…"
Sayori: "If you did that…then I really wouldn't forgive you."
MoNatSaYuri: "But…"
MoNatSaYuri: "It's almost time for Yuri to meet me at my house…"
MoNatSaYuri: "At the very least, do you want to come along and help out?"
MoNatSaYuri: "It would be fun."
To my surprise, Sayori shakes her head.

"Okay, never mind." Yuri said. "Something is stopping us."

Sayori: "I'm sorry."
Sayori: "I don't know if that would be very good for me today."
Sayori: "You understand, right?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah…"
MoNatSaYuri: "It's…kind of hard for me to fully understand."
MoNatSaYuri: "But I'm trying my hardest."
Sayori: "It's okay."
Sayori: "Don't worry too much about it."
Sayori: "I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
MoNatSaYuri: "…Alright."
MoNatSaYuri: "I look forward to it."
*Scene changes to the residential area.*
I say goodbye to Sayori and exit her house.
On the way home, I find myself feeling uneasy.
But it's hard for me to keep thinking about it when Yuri is about to come over, too…
I think Sayori is right.
I shouldn't be worrying too much, and we're definitely going to have a great time tomorrow.
I should just focus on what's ahead of me!
*Scene changes to MoNatSaYuri's house.*

"Okay, so…" Natsuki began. "Now that that whole thing is over, how's about we take a quick break? You know, to get back into a good mood for comedy?"

"Aye." Monika said.
"Sure." Sayori nodded.
"Definitely." Yuri agreed.

"Alright." Natsuki nodded.

~Fifteen minutes of hugging and cupcakes later~

"And we're back!" Natsuki cheered.

"I thought you were joking about the cupcakes." Sayori commented.

"Me and Yuri figured it would be a stressful thing, so we planned ahead." Natsuki said.

"I would have liked to have some." Monika griped.

"And I would have liked to have a puppy." Natsuki retorted before turning back to the computer. "Now then, back to the game."

As I approach my house, I see something that makes me feel a moment of panic.

"'Oh no!'" Natsuki began joking. "'I completely forgot that my house is the back of Sayori's!'"

"'Now how am I gonna leave her alone?!'" Sayori joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "Yuri-?"

"'Are you going through my mail?'" Monika joked.

"'I was just alphabetizing it.'" Sayori joked.

Yuri: "Ah…"
Yuri: "Thank goodness…"
MoNatSaYuri: "You're a little early…"

"'We said we would meet at noon, and it's only…'" Sayori began as she looked at the insider of her wrist. "'Time for me to get a watch.'"

"'MoNatSaYuri, it's Monday.'" Monika joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "I'm sorry I wasn't home yet!"
MoNatSaYuri: "Were you waiting for a long time?"
Yuri: "No, I just got here."
Yuri: "But I started to get really nervous when nobody answered the doorbell…"

"'My house has a doorbell?'" Sayori joked in a deep voice.

MoNatSaYuri: "You always could have texted me."

"'I mean, it's not like you're a stranger to it.'" Natsuki joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "If I had known, I would have reassured you and hurried more on my way home."

"You were right next door." Yuri pointed out. "What, were you gonna throw yourself out the window?"

Yuri: "Ah…I suppose that's true…"
Yuri: "I didn't think of that…for some reason."
It should be common sense to do that, but I decide to ignore it.
MoNatSaYuri: "Anyway…let's go inside."
MoNatSaYuri: "I see you brought a lot of stuff with you."
Yuri: "That's right."

"'Do you have anything we can use to make decorations?'" Sayori began joking in her friend's voice. "'I didn't have room to pack anything with my lunch.'"

Yuri: "And did you manage to find everything I asked you to buy as well?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, pretty much."

"'I still don't understand why you needed me to buy three different types of cheese wheels.'" Natsuki joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "At least, I hope I got everything right."
Yuri: "I'm sure it will be fine."
*Scene changes to main character's bedroom.*
I take Yuri to my room.

"Holy crap, are those books?" Yuri asked.

"They're probably those trick books you hide stuff in." Natsuki joked.

"That's where he hid all the figurines." Monika added.

"Why are they so spread out, though?" Yuri asked.

The first thing she does is glance around curiously, which makes me feel anxious.
Yuri: "It's so clean…"

"Yeah, hate to break it to you, but…" Natsuki began. "Those walls ain't covered in white paint."

MoNatSaYuri: "Ahaha…"
MoNatSaYuri: "I cleaned it before you came over, so…"
Yuri: "That's very considerate of you to do."
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah, no…"
MoNatSaYuri: "I would be really embarrassed for my room to be a mess while you were here."
Yuri: "Hmm…"
Yuri: "Well, I do enjoy cleaning…"
Yuri: "I would have gladly helped you clean."

"'If you know what I mean.'" Natsuki joked as she shot finger guns at the screen.

"Yes, because nothing makes people more turned on than doing laundry." Yuri quipped.

MoNatSaYuri: "Ah-"
MoNatSaYuri: "That would be even more embarrassing!"
MoNatSaYuri: "Wait, don't look in there-!"
I snatch Yuri's wrist, which is in the process of opening a desk drawer of mine.
Yuri: "A-Ah…"
Yuri: "I'm sorry…!"
Yuri: "I wasn't thinking for some reason…"
Yuri: "I was just spacing out!"
MoNatSaYuri: "It's fine, it's fine…"
I let go of Yuri's wrist.
She puts both of her hands firmly in her lap, as if making sure she's keeping track of them.
MoNatSaYuri: "So, um…"

"'You come here often?'" Monika joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "Should we…get started?"
Yuri: "Ah…"
Yuri: "Yes…"
Yuri: "Um, I have a few things planned that you can help with…"
Yuri: "Decorations and other atmospheric enhancements."
MoNatSaYuri: "Atmospheric enhancement…?"
Yuri: "You know…"
Yuri: "Mood lighting, aromatherapy candles…"

"'A humidifier, skulls, a boombox with a recording of my screams.'" Natsuki joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "Oh, wow."
MoNatSaYuri: "I didn't know you planned on taking it that far."
Yuri: "Of course."
Yuri: "I want to help take our guests to a faraway place."

"'It's why I paid for all these plane tickets.'" Sayori joked.

Yuri: "Although many will stop by just out of curiosity…"
Yuri: "And for…cupcakes, I guess…"

"Oh yeah, that reminds me," Natsuki said before wrapping her hand around her chin. "Pranks, pranks…"

Yuri: "I'm determined to provide an experience that will leave them wanting more."
MoNatSaYuri: "That's great."
MoNatSaYuri: "It's easy to forget that you're a pretty intense person."
Yuri: "Ah-"
Yuri: "Intense…?"
MoNatSaYuri: "I guess that's the best way to put it."
Yuri: "Is that…a bad thing?"
MoNatSaYuri: "No, not at all."
MoNatSaYuri: "It's something that I like about you, actually."
Yuri: "I-Is that so…?"
Yuri: "That makes me feel relieved…"
Yuri: "And kind of happy…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, no need to be so anxious."
MoNatSaYuri: "You can relax a little."
Yuri: "Relax…"
Yuri: "I brought some things for relaxation."

"'She then proceeds to pull out the skeletal remains of my aunt.'" Monika joked in her MoNatSaYuri voice.

"'I always find it so therapeutic to put skeletons back together.'" Sayori joked in an impression of her purple-haired friend. "'Like a really morbid jigsaw puzzle.'"

Yuri: "I was going to use them during the poetry event…"

"'But you know what, why are we gonna need them then?'" Sayori joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "Oh yeah? Like what?"
Yuri: "Let's see…"
Yuri rummages through her bag.
She pulls out a few candles and a wooden cylinder-shaped object.
Yuri: "I did some shopping on the way here, so I happen to have these in my bag."
Yuri: "I planned to cover the windows in black paper and use the candles to light the room."

"'The ritual was very specific about how we can't have any natural light.'" Monika joked.

Yuri: "I think that would be amazing, don't you?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, that would be really neat."
MoNatSaYuri: "What's the wooden thing, though?"

"'Oh, it's just a knickknack I bought.'" Sayori shrugged. "'Pretty cool, huh?'"

Yuri: "Oh, this?"
Yuri: "It's a diffuser for essential oils."

"'It helps to separate crude from palm.'" Sayori joked.

Yuri: "How familiar are you with aromatherapy?"

"'I prefer a romantic comedy.'" Monika quipped.

MoNatSaYuri: "Not familiar at all…"
Yuri: "Ah, is that so?"
Yuri: "It's one of my favorite contributors to a positive atmosphere."
Yuri: "Depending on the oils or herbs you choose, you can change the mood of the air itself."
Yuri: "You can even feel it permeate through your body."

"Uh, is that safe?" Sayori asked.

Yuri: "Relaxation, positive energy, romance, reflection…"

"Hey, positive energy doesn't start with an R." Natsuki stated. "You broke the theme."

Yuri: "It's almost like magic."
Yuri takes the cylinder and pushes a switch on the bottom.

"'A burst of fire rushes out of it!'" Sayori joked.

"'Oh, my bad, this is the gag-store knock-off.'" Yuri added.

In just a moment, a thin ray of vapor begins to spout through a small hole on the top.
MoNatSaYuri: "Wow, that smells wonderful."

"'Big Oil would make a killing in the air freshener business!'" Sayori joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "What kind of mood is that one for?"
Yuri: "This is a Jasmine essential oil."
Yuri: "It smells a little sweet and flowery, right?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, that's a good way to describe it."
Yuri: "I chose Jasmine for the event because it provides more than relaxation."

"'It's also a powerful sedative.'" Monika joked.

Yuri: "Jasmine enhances your emotions and helps you feel them flow through your body."
Yuri: "You feel warmer, and your heart pounds more heavily."

"That sounds like the opposite of relaxation." Sayori noted.

Yuri: "Don't you think that will be perfect for sharing our poems?"
MoNatSaYuri: "It does sound suitable…"
MoNatSaYuri: "But you seem to know a lot about this, so I'll trust your opinion with anything."
Yuri smiles gently, clearly enjoying herself.
She again reaches into her bag and pulls out several spools of thin ribbon.
MoNatSaYuri: "What are those for?"
Yuri: "Well…"
Yuri: "Did you purchase the origami paper I asked you to get?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, I have it over here…"

"'MoNatSaYuri, that's cardboard.'" Monika joked in an impression of her friend.

"'So the origami should be stronger, right?'" Sayori joked.

Yuri: "We won't be using the paper for folding origami."

"'What?'" Sayori began joking. "'But this cost me twenty bucks!'"

Yuri: "What I'd like to do is write a different word on each paper."
Yuri: "We'll need about a hundred of them."
MoNatSaYuri: "Oh yeah?"
MoNatSaYuri: "What will those be used for?"
Yuri: "Well, I'm going to cut pieces of ribbon to hang from the doorway of the classroom."
Yuri: "Then, we can fasten the paper onto the ribbons to create a doorway curtain."

"'That way, anyone who comes in will get papercuts.'" Yuri joked.

Yuri: "Wouldn't that be beautiful?"
Yuri: "It would also catch the eye of those passing by the room…"
Yuri: "It may attract some to peek inside."
MoNatSaYuri: "That's really creative!"
MoNatSaYuri: "I had no idea you'd be so good at this, Yuri."
Yuri: "Is…That's so?"
Yuri: "Well, I suppose I do get a little intense…as you'd put it."
Yuri: "Uhuhu."

"OH-" Sayori began before Natsuki covered her mouth.

"No, not again." The pink-haired girl said.

Yuri giggles with red cheeks.
Is it just me, or is she more relaxed when it's just the two of us?
Or maybe it's the excitement she feels from sharing something that she enjoys.
Yuri: "Here's a marker, MoNatSaYuri."
Yuri: "You can write any characters you want."

"Wait, what do you mean, 'characters?'" Sayori asked.

"Well, the game does kind of take place in Japan." Yuri stated. "So I assume everything there is written in Japanese."

"That was why Natsuki made the, 'Mon-Ika,' joke earlier." Monika explained.

"Really?" Sayori asked. "I haven't noticed anything else that's Japanese."

"The game is set in Ameri-pan." Natsuki joked.

Yuri: "I'll help you once I finish cutting the ribbons."
MoNatSaYuri; "Ah, alright."
Sitting on the floor together, the two of us get to work.
I carefully draw a different character on each paper, doing my best to manage my bad handwriting.

"'Let's see… This one can be Goku…'" Sayori joked. "'That one can be… Zelda… I'll make this one Harry Potter…'"

Yuri unravels a long strand of red ribbon to her desired length.
Then, she reaches into her bag once more and pulls out a pocket knife.
MoNatSaYuri: "Eh…?"
The knife is strangely beautiful.
The silver handle has an intricate pattern of waves etched into it.
The blade itself is gently tinted blue.
MoNatSaYuri: "That's no ordinary pocket knife…"
MoNatSaYuri: "It looks really fancy."
Yuri: "A-Ah…"
Yuri: "Well…"
Embarrassed, Yuri looks away.
MoNatSaYuri: "What is it?"
Yuri: "You're going to think it's weird…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yuri, whatever it is, I have no reason to judge."
MoNatSaYuri: "To each their own, you know?"
Yuri: "If you promise you won't be weirded out…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, I promise."
Yuri: "Alright…"

"'I found the sword in the stone and I melted it into sixty pocket-knifes.'" Sayori joked.

Yuri: "The thing is, I'm kind of into knives…"
Yuri: "They're just…so pretty…"
Yuri: "I-I can't help it!"
Yuri: "I don't know what it is…"
Yuri: "The combination of craftsmanship and feeling of danger, maybe…"
Yuri: "Uu, what am I saying…?"

"That's a good question." Monika began. "What does, 'Uu,' mean?"

Yuri: "Please don't think I'm weird for this…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Ahaha."
Yuri: "You're laughing at me…"
MoNatSaYuri: "No, I'm not laughing at you."
MoNatSaYuri: "It's just funny how nervous you get about sharing."
MoNatSaYuri: "It's…well, it's an interesting thing to be into, I guess."
MoNatSaYuri: "But I think it kind of suits you."
Yuri: "Suits me…?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah… It's kind of intense. Ahaha."
MoNatSaYuri: "Besides, it's a really cool-looking knife, I can't deny that."
Yuri: "It is, isn't it…?"
Yuri relaxes her expression once again.
Yuri: "Would you like to hold it?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Sure, I'll check it out."
Yuri carefully hands me the knife, with the handle facing me.
I take it and turn it around in my hands.
It feels heavy, and extremely solid.
Where do you even get a knife like this…?
Curious of its sharpness, I feel the point of the knife with my index finger.
MoNatSaYuri: "Ow-!"
Yuri: "MoNatSaYuri-!"
Yuri: "Why did you do that?!"

"'It hungers for human blood!'" Yuri joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "I didn't expect it to be so sharp…!"
MoNatSaYuri: "I barely touched it at all."
Yuri: "I-It's my fault!"

"'I should have known you would do something stupid.'" Monika joked.

Yuri: "I should have warned you…"
Yuri: "This knife is extremely sharp…"
Yuri: "It can cut through skin like it's paper."

"'And it cuts paper like it's paper!'" Sayori joked.

Yuri: "Oh no…"
A small drop of blood trickles down the side of my finger.
Yuri takes my hand and gives the wound a closer look.
Yuri: "Ah…"

"'I see the problem.'" Sayori began. "'You're bleeding.'"

She stares at it and noticeably fidgets.
MoNatSaYuri: "If you're squeamish, I'll go wash it off now-"
MoNatSaYuri: "A-Ah!"
Without warning, Yuri puts my finger in her mouth and licks the wound.
I feel her tongue curl around my finger.

"'Mm, cherry…'" Monika hummed in an impression of her friend.

Startled, I instinctively pull my hand back.
Yuri: "O-Oh…"
Yuri: "P-Please forgive me!"
Yuri: "I wasn't thinking!"
Yuri: "I…"
Yuri lowers her head, her face burning up.
MoNatSaYuri: "Yuri…"
Yuri: "That's the most embarrassing thing I've ever done…"
Yuri: "How could I do something like that?"
Yuri: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah…"
Sure, it was a little weird, and it took my by surprise…
But I guess she was just trying to help, right…?
MoNatSaYuri: "Yuri, I think you're overreacting a little…"
Yuri: "Uuuh…"

Natsuki immediately covered Sayori's mouth, and Sayori let out a scream against her friend's hand.

She doesn't lift her head.
What if she doesn't recover from this for the rest of the afternoon?
MoNatSaYuri: "Alright, you know what…"

"'I'm checking the user manual.'" Sayori joked.

"'Let's see,'" Yuri began. "'If your Yuri's face turns red and her eyes disappear, turn her off and back on again to initiate a reset… Where's her power button?'"

This might be a stupid thing to do, but I do it anyway.

"'I pull Yuri's pants down.'" Natsuki joked.

I take Yuri's hand and lick her index finger in return.

"'Caution, if your Yuri froze because she licked your finger, licking her finger in-turn could cause a total system crash.'" Yuri joked.

Yuri: "MoNatSaYuri-!"
Yuri: "D-Did you really just do that?"
MoNatSaYuri: "N-Now we're even…"
Yuri: "…"
Yuri just looks at me like I did something wrong.
MoNatSaYuri: "Ahaha…"
MoNatSaYuri: "I knew that would be a bad idea…"
If not for the sweet aroma of the Jasmine oil, the air would be extremely heavy right now.
Yuri: "You're so weird, MoNatSaYuri."
Yuri giggles shyly.
MoNatSaYuri: "Eh…?"
Yuri calling me weird?
I have no response to that…
Yuri: "Where do you keep your bandages?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah…"
MoNatSaYuri: "I don't think I need one, actually."
MoNatSaYuri: "It was a tiny cut."
MoNatSaYuri: "Look, it already stopped bleeding."
Yuri: "I see…"
Yuri: "That's relieving."
The tension is quickly lifted.
We each resume our respective activities.
I watch Yuri's knife cut through the ribbon like it's nothing but air.

"'I watch Yuri's knife cut through the ribbon like it's the paper it is.'" Sayori joked.

Meanwhile, I continue to make progress on the paper.

"'Wait a minute, Halo doesn't have a mustache.'" Sayori joked.

"His name's Master Chief." Monika corrected.

*Scene fades to black before fading back in on the main character's bedroom.*

"'Oh, damnit,'" Natsuki began joking. "'Now my lights are on the fritz.'"

After we finish attaching the paper to the ribbons, we lay them all out side by side.

"'MoNatSaYuri, did you need to write so much stuff that wasn't appropriate for school?'" Yuri asked.

"'You said I could write down anything.'" Natsuki joked back.

It looks better than I expected and will be very effective as a door curtain.
MoNatSaYuri: "It looks great."
MoNatSaYuri: "Good thinking coming up with this, Yuri."
Yuri: "Ah, thanks…"
Yuri: "It's just something I saw online, really."
Yuri: "Are you ready to move on to the next task?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, let's do it."
MoNatSaYuri: "What do you have in mind?"

"'Well, I was thinking if we hung up posters of me in a swimsuit…'" Natsuki joked.

Yuri: "I'd like to create a banner."

"'So that way, we can remove people's posting privileges if they annoy us too much.'" Monika joked.

Yuri: "That's why I asked you to buy the paint tablets."
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah, that's right."

"'But the store was out of paint, so all I got were these tubes of frosting.'" Sayori joked.

One of the items Yuri had asked me to buy was a kit of watercolor paint tablets.
Yuri: "We'll need about six cups of water to put each of the tablets in."
Yuri: "Do you mind fetching those for us?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Of course not."
MoNatSaYuri: "Six cups of water…"

"'You want fries with that?'" Sayori asked.

"'Donner, party of six, soon to be a party of four.'" Monika joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "I'll be right back in a minute."
Yuri: "Thank you very much."
Yuri: "Oh, and just a little bit of water is okay."
Yuri: "If you fill the cups too much, it will be too diluted."
*Scene fades to black before fading back in on the main character's bedroom.*

"'You know, I'm starting to think this club is cursed or something.'" Sayori joked.

Taking Yuri's advice, I decided to use small plastic bathroom cups rather than full-sized glasses.
I put them on a plate to catch any paint that drips, then bring it back to my room.
MoNatSaYuri: "Yuri?"
Yuri: "Yes?"

"'Natsuki?'" Sayori asked.

"'No.'" Yuri answered.

I came in to see Yuri quickly unrolling her sleeve, pulling it back over her arm.
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah, nothing…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Your face is a little red."
MoNatSaYuri: "Is it too hot in here, or anything?"
Yuri: "Ah-"
Yuri: "No, not at all!"
Yuri: "There's nothing wrong, so…"
Yuri: "Let's mix the paint."
Yuri hurriedly dismisses me and takes it upon herself to unwrap the tablets, dropping them into the cups.
Yuri: "So…"

"'You come here often?'" Monika joked.

Yuri: "I thought we would do something simple that would look very nice."
Yuri: "I'd like to paint a gradient across the banner…"
Yuri: "Starting with the colors of a sunrise, then daytime, then sunset and nighttime."
Yuri: "Once it dries, I'll write an inspirational quote across the banner."
Yuri: "We can hang it on the wall behind the podium at the front of the classroom."
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah, neat."
MoNatSaYuri: "What are you going to write?"

"'Something along the lines of, 'Have sex with me, you dumbass.''" Monika joked.

Yuri: "Well…"
Yuri: "…It will be more fun to surprise you."
Yuri smiles at me.
MoNatSaYuri: "If you say so…"
After rolling out the banner, Yuri and I kneel on opposite sides so we don't get in the way of each other.
Yuri uses a brush and adds a few dots of different colors across the banner to serve as a color guide when we paint.
MoNatSaYuri: "This kind of reminds me of elementary school…"
Painting on a banner with watercolors feels a lot like the art class projects we had back then.
It's relaxing.
Yuri: "Ah…"
Yuri: "I'm sorry if this feels too childish…!"
MoNatSaYuri: "No, I didn't mean that at all."
MoNatSaYuri: "It's kind of fun, you know?"
Yuri: "…Yeah."

"'So that's why Natsuki writes like that.'" Yuri said, earning a scowl from the pink-haired girl.

Yuri: "It is fun."
Yuri: "I'm glad you feel that way, too."
Yuri stops painting for a moment, thinking to herself.
Yuri: "For me…"
Yuri: "I don't need to go out and do crazy things to have fun."
Yuri: "In fact, I usually don't even want to."
Yuri: "I just like when I can spend time with one other person…"
Yuri: "Even if it's something simple, like reading – it doesn't even matter if we don't talk much."
Yuri: "Just having a friend next to me makes things feel a little bit nicer."
Yuri: "I think that's all it takes for me to be happy."
MoNatSaYuri: "Is that so…?"

"'I'm not sure why you started talking about that stuff, but okay.'" Monika joked.

Even if Yuri and I are quite different, I can understand where she's coming from.
I feel that way about things like anime and games, where simply sharing the experience with someone can make me happy.
MoNatSaYuri: "I think I feel the same way."
Yuri smiles gently.
Yuri: "I knew you'd understand…"
Yuri leans over the banner to grab an unused paintbrush.
But I move at the same time, causing my head to bump into hers.
Yuri: "Kya-!"
MoNatSaYuri: "S-Sorry!"
Yuri reels back, and I quickly lift my hands in surprise.
MoNatSaYuri: "Are you hurt?"
Yuri: "N-No, I'm not hurt."
Yuri: "It just startled me…that's all."
Yuri: "Sorry, I should have asked you to get it for me…"
MoNatSaYuri: "It's not your fault."
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah, your face…"
There are droplets of paint on Yuri's face and neck.
Yuri: "Is there something on my face?"
MoNatSaYuri: "Yeah, I accidentally got paint on you…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Sorry, it's totally my fault!"
MoNatSaYuri: "I'll get a towel right away."
I rush out and fetch a small towel, then dampen it with hot water.
I return to my room and kneel back down in front of her.
*Scene changes to CG of Yuri as the MC presses a towel to her cheek.*
MoNatSaYuri: "Here…"

"Ketchup!" Natsuki abruptly yelled. "That's what I can put in the cupcakes!"

I pat down Yuri's face and neck with the towel.
Yuri: "Ah-"

"'Towels, my one weakness!'" Sayori joked.

MoNatSaYuri: "Is something wrong?"
Yuri: "It's hot…I just didn't expect it."
MoNatSaYuri: "Sorry…"
MoNatSaYuri: "I didn't want to use cold water."
Having finished, I start to retract my hand.
But Yuri suddenly holds my wrist.

"'Actually, wait, towels are the opposite of my weakness.'" Sayori joked.

Yuri: "Wait-"
MoNatSaYuri: "Eh?"
Yuri: "Just…for a little longer."
Yuri: "It feels really nice…"
MoNatSaYuri: "Ah…"
I keep my hand still against Yuri's neck.
She looks into my eyes.
It's an intense expression that I recognize from when she reads her books…

"'She's reading me.'" Monika joked in her MoNatSaYuri voice.

"'I knew I wrote this stuff on my face for a good reason.'" Sayori added.

Almost as if she's lost in a daze, enveloped by her own thoughts.
She breaths gently, half through slightly-parted lips.
What is happening…?
Is it the aroma of the Jasmine oil giving me this dizzy feeling?

"'No, wait, I just forgot how to breathe again.'" Natsuki joked.

Yuri's gentle fingers, wrapped around my wrist, send a tingling sensation through my arm.

"I think that's just static electricity." Sayori said.

And suddenly, her face seems to be much closer to mine than it was just a moment ago…
Yuri: "Ah…"

"'Okay, according to the fine print…'" Yuri joked.

Yuri slowly pulls away.
Yuri: "Sorry…"
Yuri: "I've been feeling a little light-headed today."
Yuri: "I didn't mean to space out…"
MoNatSaYuri: "I-It's fine…"
*Scene changes to main character's bedroom.*
The moment is over as soon as it began.
Yuri picks up her brush again.
But her movements seem clumsier, like she's unable to focus.
I remain silent, forced to ignore the event that just transpired.
I hesitantly retrieve my own brush and continue following Yuri's example.
*Scene fades to black before fading back in on the main character's bedroom.*

"'Which would be easier if the lights would stop flickering.'" Sayori joked.

"'You want to try doing this outside?'" Yuri asked. "'Last I checked, the sun wasn't on the blink.'"
