Kenny with Wendy running at the sidewalk with some passersby glanced at them strangely until they realized green faced kid was back riding on a pogo stick singing to himself, while the people ran to different directions to avoid being in the way. Kenny wanted to call Kyle for help but couldn't find a pay phone anywhere and couldn't stop running now. Not with Stan wearing the Mask and chasing him and Wendy down the street. But then he had an idea, though he needed to have Wendy hidden from Stan.
They turned a corner and inside an abandoned store that used to be a supermarket.
"Won't he find us here?" Wendy asked, unsure about hiding inside.
"We can't outrun him for long, you stay here while I go get help." Kenny said. Wendy was about to argue but thought better of it and went inside. The glass door was unlocked, the inside was dark. From the shadow, Kenny dashed off out of sight. As Wendy hid from what looked to be a counter as she heard Stan's voice grew louder from outside the shop.
"Wendy? Where are you? Come out, come out wherever you are." he called out in a singsong voice as he reached the stop looking out the window of the dark store. Surely his love wouldn't be hiding somewhere like that. So he passed by to look elsewhere. As the sound of Stan's voice grew more and more distant until Wendy could no longer hear him. She breathed a sigh of relief before taking a risk to look to make sure he left. Wendy looked out to see no one there in sight.
"Thank god." Wendy muttered to herself, standing for a moment wondering if Stan may return to double check.
He didn't.
She wondered if it was safe to leave to store or stay until Kenny gets help. Could the police really help? She didn't want Stan to get hurt, even though he turned into a love-sick maniac chasing her down. Wendy pondered to herself how her boyfriend just changed all of a sudden at Stark Pond. What's with the green face? Was there more than one green faced kid running amuck at night? Tammy did tell the girls that she had an encounter with one that appeared at the restaurant she now works in. Surely that wasn't Stan, was it? So who was it that robbed the bank, returned the stolen money and terrorized Cartman? Well, the blonde hair was one clue and must have had a crush on Tammy.
But before she could make a guess of identifying the first green faced kid, the lights inside the store abruptly turned on. Her eyes adjusted, looking around if she wasn't alone. Then her heart skipped a beat as she saw Stan coming out from the employee only section. Before Stan could turn to look at his girlfriend, Wendy ducked down underneath the checkout counter. Putting her hand to her mouth, so her breathing couldn't be heard.
"Wendy, are you here?" Stan called out as his footsteps echoed that gave Wendy goosebumps fearing if he did find her. Then she heard wind and a mix and crackling thunder. The strong wind billowed, making Wendy's hair dance but her pink and black cap remained still. Then it stopped, the sound of footsteps returning back where they left off.
"Detective Marsh must solve the missing love; Wendy Testaburger." As Wendy peeked from behind, Stan was now wearing a different outfit. Wearing a beige checkered cloak and hat while holding a magnifying glass making his left eye bigger. He resembled Sherlock Holmes himself. He was muttering, taking out a notepad and pencil to write notes, and looked through his magnifying glass aiming on the cold hard ground covered in a thin layer of dust that had been neglected to be swept. As Stan was following what seemed to be a trail, but there was none visible to be seen. Though he was drawing himself closer towards where Wendy was hiding from. Before Stan could turn to find Wendy, a booming voice made his head turn. One hundred and eighty degrees. Without the sound of bone crunching and more of taffy stretching outward. It made Wendy nearly cringe at the sight of it, reminiscent of the scene in The Exorcist where the possessed Reagen turns her head to look at her frightened mother tauntingly.
But who was that called out that distracted Stan? As Wendy, too turned to look, not the way Stan did. There stood a kid there age wearing a dark violet cloak and hood, wore a light purple jumpsuit with a lime green crude question mark painted on the chest. With a matching symbol on top of his hood. For it was-
"Mysterion!" Wendy exclaimed, relieved that finally help had arrived. The cape crusader of South Park, for she did know his identity as well as others kids in town. Though the adults hadn't put the pieces together to discover this at all.
"Leave the girl and take off the Mask, it's controlling you!" Mysterion said as he came towards Stan, arms out grab the damned Mask off his face.
"I don't know what Mask you speak of, but I'm tired of everyone trying to keep me and Wendy separated! No more Mr. Nice guy!" The next thing Mysterion knew, Stan summoned a giant mallet from his red and black jacket, similar to the one that Kenny used when he wore that to knock one of the robbers away. He held it in a menacing way, then he swung it down though missed hitting nothing but the concrete ground causing his target to break and create a jagged hole. Mysterion sat up and stared at Stan, realizing his eyes were no longer bright blue to rage red, the same color of eyes Kenny had when having the Mask on. Mysterion had to act soon and end this madness before it escalated any further. It made Kenny hate Loki's Mask even more than ever.
"Stan, stop!" to Mysterion's surprise, Wendy spoke up, tears in her eyes. She felt fear and worry, she couldn't bear to see Stan hurting others like this. She wanted this nightmare to end once and for all.
"No one is trying to separate us! I still love you, but please stop this. You're scaring me, you're scaring everyone." Stan held the mallet to strike again, but then stopped hearing his girlfriend's plea of desperation. Her words stung him that he hadn't realized it until now. His eyes reverted back to normal eye color as his turned head (not like before to Wendy stand by the moonlight shone from the front window, shadowing her face looking pale red, her eyes shiny through tears rolling down on her cheeks. The angry thoughts that swarmed Stan's mind were gone. He could think clearly again as looked at his surroundings, his clothes and his reflection through the glass. He was horrified to see what he had become, he was someone he didn't want to be.
"What have I done?" Stan whispered then slowly reached from the back of his head to pull that wretched Mask off his face.
"NO!" A voice said, sounding eerily like his but more distorted. Stan looked around to see where that came from. Wendy and Mysterion looked around but couldn't find what Stan was looking for.
"DON'T STOP NOW! WE WERE JUST GETTING STARTED!" Stan didn't hesitate to wrap his fingers around the edge and began to pull. He yelled in pain but didn't care as long as he pulled it off. The Mask was transformed back to its original form, it felt like peeling one of those painful facial masks off to remove pores from your face. At Last The Mask was off. Stan felt he was able to regain more of himself, he gave it Mysterion. Then he came to Wendy hugging her tight.
"I'm so sorry!" The one thing Stan thought of to say.
