Chapter XI

Kenny was now looking at the Mask in anger and disgust, since last night as Mysterion to stop Stan from causing more damage. But luckily Stan got the upper hand of gaining his senses to remove that horrible Mask off and become his old self. When he had come to the sense he and Wendy fled while Mysterion (Kenny) remained, telling the police that the "Green Faced Kid" had fled while hiding the Mask underneath his cape. Who knows what the police might do if they got their hands on it or tried it on themselves?

Kenny was beginning to wish he never found that Mask by the river to start with. But then Kenny started to wonder for a bit if maybe The Mask wasn't as bad. Yes, the two times he did wear it, causing him to do things of his darkest desires and causing havoc and fear in South Park. But it had brought him and his old friends closer together. Kyle had done a bit of research about it so perhaps there was more to the possession of a god than evil but rather turn the opposite of yourself. Willpower and empathy are replaced with determination and ambition. Does that mean The Mask will only transform the wearer depending on their personality? If the person was good, would they turn evil? Or if they were evil would they turn good? Kenny needed more answers to know.

"Kenny?" As if summoned by his thoughts. Kenny turned to look to find Kyle, by his door with Stan and Wendy following pursuit.

"Hey, I'm sorry for what happened last night." Stan started feeling ashamed, though Kenny didn't look like he was angry but regretful.

"No I'm sorry, I should have never given it away to you." Kenny said dully.

"I still don't know what to do though, I can't break it or anything. I wish I never found it!" Anger rising in his voice through his orange and brown parka hoodie. Then regained his composure asking the three why they came over. It was then Kyle pulled out some papers he printed out from home.

While at school, Kyle had done more research about more information about the Mask. But only found the same information as before, however there was a book written by Dr. Neuman about some recent events. It appears that The Mask was meant to be hidden away forever from centuries ago. Until it resurfaced in 1994 in Edge City. Apparently, a man named Stanley Ipkiss was accused of crimes quite similar to recent events here in South Park. Though Ipkiss was free from all charges after he stopped Doran from robbing Coco Bongo club. Soon after the Mask disappeared for nearly thirty years…until it was found after it's journey traveling down rivers and streams.

"I found out another thing about it, it only works at night." Kyle continued as everyone had a moment to agree. That the Mask was for nocturnal use only since Loki was not only the God of Mischief, but a god of Darkness. Darkness as in Night. Kenny had to loan The Mask to Kyle to do more research if there's any useful information about it. Perhaps a way to dispose of The Mask properly.

It's been almost thirty after he discarded it in the river, no longer needing it for his own benefits. Sure The Mask had caused him a lot of trouble with the law, but in the end the Mask helped save Coco Bongo from being turned to rubble. But more importantly, his love interest Tina and the hostages. Now it was time to move on to a better life and start a family. Stanley, driving down town with his wife Tina, his daughter Stevie, and their dog Maraline. Once upon a time their dogs Milo and Mildred had puppies, sadly they passed away while their offspring lived on. Maraline is kept in the Ipkiss family. They stopped at their home in a new town, a brand new chapter in their lives.

"Here it is!" Stanley raises his hands up for dramatic effect. Stevie rolled her eyes, not because she was annoyed. Because it was so typical of her dad to be so comedic. She assumed that's why mom likes him so much. After all, it was probably how they met back at Edge City. As they unload the car and then move into their new home which was really a pain. To Stevie that is.

"Hello!" Stanley turned his head to look, staying at the porch after loading many of his and his family's things inside. It was a woman with long black hair wearing a green sweater over a white blouse. For the woman wasn't alone, there was a girl that looked like a miniature version of the woman. Except her clothes were different from a purple coat, yellow pants, and a pink and black berrett on her head. Stanley said that the little girl was her daughter due to the uncanny resemblance they bore.

"Oh, hello you had me there for a moment." Stanley chuckled to himself as he introduced himself and his family. By this, Wendy widens her eyes at the mention of their last name. Ipkiss.

"Mr. Ipkiss, if I may ask and this would sound strange but, did you and your family come from Edge City by chance?"

Stanley's forehead creased for a moment, indeed the question sounded strange. But did she know about that and to ask about it that came straight out of nowhere. But he simply said…

"Yes, we have. Have you been there?"

"No sir, it was just out of curiosity."

A few hours later after school…

Wendy went to Kyle explaining her encounter with her new neighbor.

"I don't know Wendy, what if that wasn't him."

"Maybe…I just couldn't ask him about the Mask though. It would seem too weird, though."

Kyle looked at the Mask sitting across from his desk next to his computer, a little unnerved by its ability to change people and make them do the things they want out of their darkest desires without any guilt or worry of the consequences.

"Kyle."

Kyle jumped by the sudden sound of the eerie voice he couldn't find.

"Who's there?" Kyle stuttered.

"It's me…The Mask."
