Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Fox and the Wolf. Enjoy the 2200-word chapter. I don't own Seton Academy, Bungo, Cygames and a few others do.

"How do you think this will end?" Nova asked to which there was no answer. "There was something in that deal that feels… Off at this moment." Nova added to Ferryl while he shook his head.

"I cannot question how our families will handle a deal like this," Ferryl said while she frowned her nodded her head. "I don't know what they will do next. They are constantly discussing new details with each other, not us, remember?" Ferryl said to which Nova could only sigh.

The two animal-like humans were silent as they processed this new information. There were a few details that they wanted to know. Both were quite annoyed by this as well, but there was very little they could do at the moment.

"Do you wish to talk to them at the moment?" Nova asked while he raised his eyebrow and looked around. "There's still plenty of time to try. This marriage is… Odd." Nova added to which Ferryl was silent to herself.

"I don't know how they'd deal with it at the moment," Ferryl said as Nova sighed, unsure what to say or do at this time. "Are you this scared of marriage at the moment?" Ferryl stated to which Nova raised an eyebrow.

There was a laugh at this question at the time. He needed to make sure that this entire deal was fine.

"Do you think that?" Nova asked, a smirk crossing his lips as he did so. "Because I don't know why you'd think that. I'm fine marrying someone if I had to. I just think our parents should tell us more about it and not just throw us into the deep end." Nova added before he tented his fingers.

"I suppose it's fair, both of our families are at the top of the social food chain. There's only so much they can keep hidden from us at this juncture." Ferryl said to which Nova nodded and looked at her with a small amount of interest which kept him amused more than anything.

Ferryl was not stupid when it came down to it. If she was? then she'd not be lasting this long when he reflected upon this issue. He cleared his throat and slowly sat up.

"Can we fight like we used to?" Ferryl heard as she turned to look around. "We used to have fun brawling like we had when we were in the wrestling club. Remember that fun? When we could just brawl and not worry about stuff like this." Nova said while he started to shake his head.

His friend was silent. She wanted to think of a good answer while she did so. However? That meant there was plenty of time for him to snark at her. Ferryl waited for her friend to say something. There was almost nothing stopping him from saying whatever he wanted.

Still? He was silent to her surprise. He smiled, his trademark smile present on his face. He waited for a few seconds, seemingly so she could say something.

"I like battling you when there ISN'T something constantly messing with that sort of thing," Nova said while he started to hum to himself as he did so. "We used to have fun when it came down to it, you know." Nova started to say with a tooth-filled smirk crossing his face.

Still? He didn't expect her to take the bait at the end of the day. Ferryl was a very logical woman at the end of the day. She was still entirely focused on the details which meant she really couldn't focus on such matters.

The smirk she gave, however? That told him far more than when it came down to it. She slowly started to push herself to her feet, looking at her enemy turned political ally which meant a few other things at the moment.

"Do you not realize that I am the captain of the wrestling team?" Ferryl stated while Nova rolled his eyes. "You are as foolish as when we were children," Ferryl added to which her rival was entirely silent while he leaned on the wall once more.

"Maybe, but that doesn't make you the top of the food chain when it comes down to it," Nova added before he smirked to himself while he let out a yawn. "I'm well aware of how strong you are. Why do you think I just challenged you to combat? I'm well aware of what you can do." Nova added while he started to smile while he nodded to himself.

"You want that fight, don't you?" Ferryl asked while she started towards the wall. "Why am I not surprised? You've been as boneheaded as this since you were born and met me." Ferryl added to which her friend shrugged, not caring about what the wolf had in store for him.

Nova was silent, aware of the fact that she was simply a powerhouse when it came down to it. There was a lot of skill in Ferryl's body. He knew she wasn't some pampered princess that would just let her servants handle things. She was as much a warrior as before.

"I'm fine with a battle when it comes to it," Nova added while he brushed off his hands. "I'll deal with whatever stupid thing that comes with the battle at the end of the day. We've fought before and our parents didn't mind. I don't think that they're mad if they find out." Nova added while he frowned to himself.

"Hmm," Ferryl stated while she frowned to herself. "There's too little to leave to chance at the end of the day. It cannot be allowed to simply exist." Ferryl stated as she rolled her eyes.

Nova nodded to herself while she frowned. She was well aware of what to do next to do after this was planned and dusted. She watched Nova who had frowned to herself.

"Hmm." Nova nodded while he frowned to himself. "The longer we deal with them? The more time we buy for ourselves at the end of the day." Nova added while he frowned to himself as he sighed to himself.

"There are plenty of times of time to twist the plans," Nova stated while he frowned. "If it had been rather hard for them to do this? They'd not trying to do." Nova added to himself before he smiled at the woman.

He cleared his throat towards this woman as he started to walk around their surroundings. Both were well aware of what came next as they planned for more work in their future. They weren't stupid either as it started to become obvious that they had more in the future for both of the clans. This marriage was as much for the sake of expanding their clans as they tried to slowly spread out from where they were. Their social standings seemed to take the priority when it came to plenty of things what to do next.

He was rather happy to be around her. He cleared his throat and let out a yawn before he clicked his teeth together as he did so. Nova smiled while he frowned before he drummed his fingers on his legs.

Both were rather interested in their work of what to do next. Nova said nothing while he raised an eyebrow at her. She didn't get scared, she didn't fear anyone, and she cared about the rest of her family. She sighed to herself and started to tap her fingers on her legs while he cleared his throat.

"There are plenty of tasks they need to do next," Ferryl stated while she cleared her throat. "They need to finalize the paperwork, create a venue. They also need to prepare for what happens when we do become married and such. I don't know what they expected to happen before this is done and dusted." Ferryl added while her fiancée raised an eyebrow and started to stare into space for a moment.

He said nothing while he pointed towards the window. There was a lot to do next and it had bothered him. He wasn't annoyed by this type of logic when it came to it. She had a lot on her plate and it seemed as if none of them wanted this at the moment.

Ferryl seemed to join him before he planned to do more with his clan. He wasn't one to plan this. He had a lot more on his plate than she. His clan was more traditional than most others. He was far more amused by this than she was. Honestly? He was one to ponder more logic as of now.

Still? there were a lot more pressing issues when it came down to it. Both had a lot more to handle and it didn't seem as if he could handle issues of this caliber. It seemed a lot more as if he had a lot more to handle than he expected. It wasn't as if either had a lot on their minds with the approaching deal coming.

"This deal is honestly one of the most intense thins in history," Nova said while he brushed himself off. "I don't entirely understand what they are after with these deals nor do I wish to understand yet. I'm not entirely sure what to do when it comes to it." Nova stated before he seemed to ponder what to do next.

She was honestly thrown off by how this had been. He had been too weirded out by this sort of these topic. She was a lot more interested in what came next if he didn't agree to the deal. He'd be well aware of it if this deal happened. It was simply too unreal for them to fathom their parents being in the deal this way.

"They always want to be sneaky and honestly? Sometimes I question what they'd do if they had real power under their thumb. The power that terrifies people who don't wish to be terrified." Nova added before he rubbed at his eyes with annoyance and stared at his friend. "They are probably aware of what happens next. I don't want to know how long they planned this without telling either of us as of now. It had a lot more on the line and how it will affect them if we fall through it." Nova added as he sighed and crossed his arms.

She seemed to ignore him for a few moments, perhaps contemplating something that she hadn't for a while she prepared for what came next. She knew this marriage was to happen no matter what they said or attempted. She didn't understand what happened if she did marry him. There were worse candidates to be wed to if she was entirely honest, but she didn't wish to be wed against her will.

Still? If her parents had decided this was how the ball was to bounce? She'd handle it as properly as one was expected to as heiress of her clan. She stared at Nova who took a standing position next to her as she prepared to see what happened next. It was an honestly odd thing to see him here and not attempting to bother her as he had been a while ago.

"It seems as if this will be the end of an era." Ferryl heard which was greeted with a nod. "And regrets over what is to come shortly? We both know arguing isn't going to fix what happens next when it comes down to it. There will only be words. Won't do much good against all the paperwork." Ferryl heard as she seemed to consider this as well.

"Words still carry weight," Ferryl said to which she seemed to roll her ponder what to do next. "There is a lot more to do when it comes down to it. They will be ready for whatever we do as of the second." Ferryl said while she hummed and rolled her eyes.

"And? They won't care at the second. They want this to try and help." Nova stated before she crossed her arms and seemed to be interested.

"Everything matters," Ferryl stated before he sighed as he rolled before he said while she crossed her arms. "We both still have our opinions when it came down to it," Ferryl said while she tapped on the window with interest.

"Doesn't mean their care about it. They don't respect their feelings when it comes to their career. I don't know what to do next as of how to ponder it when it comes down to it." Nova stated before he sighed to himself.
