The next 6 days were quite monotonous for both of us.
They were forced by doctors and colleagues to stay in bed and not put much effort. Luckily they could share each other's company, and they had plenty of time to talk and discuss the future.
The learned Wick told them that they would be discharged in two days, the time to finish the physiotherapy.
That afternoon, while they are watching TV, they hear a knock on the door.
"is it allowed? Disorder?" Commander Hicks looks out.
Both are surprised that the commander is there,
"Sure boss, come in," Street says
"how's it going?" he asks
"Well enough, we're a little bored, but we're almost at the end of this nightmare," continues Street.
"good, I hope that in a few weeks you will be active again, the team is very affected by your absence."
"boss, to be honest I wouldn't have expected him to come and see us." Chris says
"I'm actually here to tell you something." Hicks replies
Now both Street and Chris are worried
"The top police have decided to award you the Medal of Valor, not only for the excellent work you do every day and for your commitment to the weakest. What you did for Street, struck everyone, even the bosses, and they want to reward you for it. "
"I didn't do anything with the intent of being rewarded. In fact, if Street is here it's my fault," says Chris
"I know very well, and that's why I told them you wouldn't be happy with this. But they urged me to convince you to accept"
"Chris, first of all it's not your fault. Besides, it's a big milestone for your career," says Street
"Speaking of career, the committee is urging you to enter the competition to become a sergeant," continues Hicks
"what?" Chris almost screams.
He hugs her tightly
"They said you could take advantage of the convalescence to study and prepare. The exam is in 3 months. And we all know you would be a very good team leader. Since there will be changes shortly and you may be involved."
"I'm surprised. I don't know what to say." Chris Look at both of them
"he certainly can't refuse. It's a fantastic thing"
Street says
"Wait a minute, but what does boss mean with his last words?" Chris asks
"I have already said too much, but you are not the only one to have a promotion. When the time comes, the person concerned will tell you about it, now it's all just theory" concludes Hicks
"So now I should go back to studying? Of course I won't be bored"
"I'll have Rocker bring you the forms in the afternoon, tomorrow's application deadline. And then I'll have you bring the HR forms."
The conversation is interrupted by Hicks' cell phone ringing, it's an emergency call.
The commander greets the two officers and leaves.
"So soon you will be my superior. I don't know if I will be able to accept this. I am usually the dominant one in the relationship," Street tells her, cheeky and arrogant.
Chris looks at him puzzled but with a mischievous smile "did you think you had any chance of dominating me? You are really wrong." She looks at him before continuing. "At most I could leave you in control of the bedroom sometimes, if I like her. But at work there is no mention of it." She tells him
Street does not answer, he approaches and kisses her passionately, the desire they have for each other is immense. It's one of the reasons they want to go home early.
