It's the night before Chris's exam, which coincides with the day both of them are likely to return after surgery. The next day, in fact, both will have a visit to medical Swat for reintegration into active service.
Street approaches Chris, who has been on the couch for hours going through all the protocols for the thousandth times.

She moves onto her legs and continues to kiss him, more intensely, deepening the kiss, as if she had just started foreplay. Interrupting the kiss, Chris says "that's enough Agent Street for tonight, it's time to go to sleep, tomorrow will be a busy day for both of us" she gets up from her legs, holds out her hand and they go to bed.

It is 6 o'clock when the alarm goes off, they both get up, get ready for the run and go out with Athos. Upon returning, they take turns in the shower, and in a few minutes they are out of the house to go to the Headquarters.
It is 7.45 am when they walk through the door of the headquarters, and meet the commander, Hondo, and with a group of people that Chris recognizes immediately, they are the commission for his examination as a sergeant.

Sighing Chris replies "Apparently the exam board is already here an hour early. Maybe they don't know we're in control for the return in ten minutes."
They pass the crowd and go to Medical Swat.
As expected, both are eligible for return to active duty, team 20 will be full again from today's round.
Chris and Street are on their way to the locker room to change when Hondo stops them
"Chris, the commission is ready, follow me" and he shows her the way.
She doesn't say anything, she exchanges a glance with Street and follows Hondo to the room where the committee is set up.
"Good morning Agent Alonso" greeted Commissioner Grigson.
"Good morning to you Commissioner, and good morning to everyone" Chris replies, quite calm.
"Alonso, before starting with the exam, on behalf of the whole commission I wanted to clarify something." The inspector clears his throat. "We know that you and Agent Street have formalized your romantic relationship with HR and that Commander Hicks has authorized you to work on the same team, taking all the responsibilities that go with it." She pauses, and Chris is now frowning and worried. "What we want to tell you, Alonso, is that after his advancement to Sergeant, Agent Street will need to leave Squad 20."
"absolutely not an option!" Chris says on impulse. She looks at Commander Hicks and continues, trying to calm down. He and Hondo are also surprised by the inspector's words.
"I'm leaving the team. I can't ask Agent Street this."
"That's not an option either. She's been designated next 20-david."
Without thinking Chris stands up and replies "at this point you will have to find another sergeant available, because I am withdrawing from the exam. Have a nice day"
Without adding anything else, she leaves the room with tears in her eyes, without looking around and heads for the changing rooms.
In the past few weeks, after Hicks and Hondo's approval, Chris believed he could be happy, that her career and her feelings for Street could finally go the same way. Apparently this is not the case.
Meanwhile, Hondo has also left the room, and joins the others in the armory.

Street looks around for the woman he loves.
He enters the locker room and finds her sitting on the bench with her head in her hands.

He tells her in one breath "but this doesn't mean you have to give up your goals, your dreams for me." He continues as he strokes her cheek. "Our situation is new for us, but especially for the commission, we are the first Swat couple.
