Andy felt Sharon's presence before he even saw her face. It didn't matter if it was inside, outside, or in the other room. For some reason he knew she was close. Just like now. He knew she was there before he turned and saw her.

There was something different about her today. She looked nervous. Provenza was giving her a hard time, more than usual.

"What's with the attitude with Raydor today?" Andy asked Provenza when they climbed in the car.

"Don't act like you didn't know, Lover Boy." Provenza huffed.

"Didn't know what?" Andy asked innocently.

"Wait, you and Raydor?" Detective Miller asked from the back seat.

"I was nice to her once and Provenza thinks I'm only nice to women I'm sleeping with." Andy shook his head and shot Provenza a look. The last thing he needed was for Miller spread the gossip that he and Sharon were an item. "Anyway, what did I know?"

"She's our new leader." Provenza said hatefully. "Meaning I'm out."

"Our new leader?" Andy wasn't sure what to say. Why hadn't she told him? What did this mean for them? "Captain Raydor is in charge of Major Crimes?"

"Yes and I'm not putting up with Rulebook Raydor bossing me around." Provenza grumbled. "If Taylor and Pope won't fix this then I'm done."

"You're not going to quit." Miller chimed in. "You're too tight to give up your retirement to your ex . . . which one is it?"

"Liz." Provenza answered. "Maybe I'll just transfer out."

"Taylor isn't going to go for that." Andy shook his head. "I'm afraid our next move is retirement."

"I can't believe she didn't tell you about this." Provenza changed the subject back to Sharon. He glanced back at Miller as if contemplating his words. "Since you two are on good terms."

"She never mentioned it." He frowned looking out the window.

Why hadn't she told him?

Andy volunteered to walk Sharon to the morgue to meet Mike. He thought this would give him the perfect opportunity to talk to her.

"So, Captain of Major Crimes." Andy put his hands on his pockets as he waited on the elevator. "That's a great opportunity."

"Yep." Sharon didn't look up from the files in her hand.

The elevator doors opened and they walked inside. Still she just kept flipping through the pages.

"How did that come about?" He asked rocking on his heels as the doors closed.

"It just happened." She shrugged.

"That's all I get?" He frowned. "It just happened?"

"Yes." She rolled her eyes.

"What the hell, Sharon?" He bursted out.

"Is that how you speak to your commanding officer, Lieutenant?" She asked looking up at him over her glasses.

"Lieutenant?" He stepped closer.

"I don't have time to get into this with you, Lieutenant." She raised her head. Her eyes narrowed and squared her shoulders. "I have a lot on my plate."

All he could think about was pushing her against the elevator wall and reminding her of the ways he could make her moan and scream his name, but the elevator doors opened

"Whatever." He stepped out of the elevator ahead of her.

Once they got the the morgue she stopped at the door.

"Are you coming in?" She asked.

"No." He shook his head. "I think it's best I wait out here."

"Fine." She handing him the files she'd been reading and slipped inside the autopsy room.

"Every problem we're having is because of you."

Sharon felt a headache coming on. She was overwhelmed, but refused to give up.

Provenza hated her. Most of the team seemed to follow suit, Andy was pissed at her, and her material witness thought he was being punished by having a bed time.

Sharon had a full on migraine by the time the case was closed and it was time to go home with her new teenage roommate. Buzz was waiting with him in electronics while she grabbed her purse.

Sharon hesitated when she saw Andy waiting in her office on her. If she didn't need her purse she would have avoided him.

"Time to get this over with." She sighed to herself before opening the door.

"Do you have time now?" He asked angrily. With out a word she shut the door and locked it. She shut the binds and he started to look nervous. When she locked the other door he stood and changed the tone of his voice. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have lashed out at you earlier, but don't you think I deserve an explanation?"

"You do." Sharon came to stand toe to toe with him. "I'm sorry I was short with you. I feel like I'm in over my head and I didn't have time to explain."

"Let me help with that." He wrapped his arms around her pulling her into a hug. She melted against him.

How did he do that? Just wrap his arms around her and make everything go away?

"Better?" He asked.

"Yes." She laid her head against his shoulder. "Chief Pope knows about us. He's afraid if it gets to IA that we've been seeing each other, they'll put my cases involving Major Crimes under a microscope. They could push for the cases to be over turned and ruin my reputation."

"So his solution was to put you as my commanding officer?" He asked.

"Yes," Sharon nodded. "If we want to continue our relationship, all he asks is we pretend we're just friends for now. Pretend the relationship between us has grown since I moved to Major Crimes. It would be more acceptable that way."

Andy was quiet for a few seconds. Sharon looked up at him.

"What are you thinking?" She asked.

"That might not be such a bad idea." He smiled down at her. "This was never going to work the way we started out. Why not take this opportunity to do it right. Be friends and let it develop into more over time."

"It won't be easy." Sharon sighed.

"No," He agreed. "But it will be worth it."

"It will," She placed a hand on his face. "I know that because I already know how it feels to be loved by you and to love you."

Andy's face lit up. He leaned down and captured her lips with his. Her hand sank into his hair when his tongue sank into her mouth.

"I love you so much." He whispered when they needed air.

"I love you too." She kissed him one last time then stepped back. She held out her hand. "Friends?"

"Friends." He nodded and shook her hand.

"Goodnight Lieutenant." Sharon released his hand.

"Goodnight Captain." Andy walked out and shut the door behind himself.

Sharon took a deep breath and let it out slowly. For the first time in her life she felt that everything was going to be alright.
