After Daniel Dunn was dealt with life seemed to move on. Rusty was making friends in school and Sharon had somehow won over the respect of her team. Things were good.
Except for Emma Rios trying to push Sharon into putting Rusty in different home, but Sharon stood her ground.
Then Jack came back.
Andy wasn't sure what Provenza had against Jack. Andy had hung out with him back in the day and really liked him. Good Ol'Jack as Andy remembered.
But Provenza seemed a little more protective toward Sharon when Jack was involved. Even the way he told her to try and get some sleep the night Jack came back, told Andy he knew more about Jack and Sharon's relationship then he did.
Then again, Andy had been drunk back then. He didn't even know his own relationship was in crisis until Sandra packed his bags and kicked him out.
His opinion of him quickly changed. He wasn't worried Sharon would fall for him again, She wasn't a woman who was easily manipulated, but Andy didn't like how Jack used their marriage against her.
Andy never thought of using his own and Sharon's relationship against her for his own personal gain. He wouldn't do that to her.
But just like Emma, Jack soon got his ass handed to him. He couldn't take it and was gone again.
When Nicole's wedding came around Andy decided he wasn't going. Then he was. Then he wasn't, but when Sharon offered to go with him as a buffer.
"Could you use a buffer?" Sharon had asked. "Lieutenant Provenza has volunteered to take Rusty out for burgers, and, um, I like weddings."
"Really? You're sure?" Andy didn't want her to feel obligated to go with him. "Oh, uh, well... well, how would I introduce you?"
Andy also didn't want to jump to conclusions with Sharon. It was best to make the intentions clear now.
"How about as your friend Sharon?" Sharon smiled at his nervousness.
"So..." Andy again wanted to make it clear between the two of them."So it's not like a date or anything?"
"Of course not, Lieutenant." Sharon half laughed. "I'm a married woman."
"Oh, well," Andy was so grateful for her offer. Not only would he get to see his daughter get married but he'd get to spend the evening with the woman he loved. Even if this wasn't a date. "Thank you, captain . . . I mean, Sharon. I owe you one."
After everything they'd been through, he was still nervous picking her up. When she opened the door he was at a loss for word.
Sharon stood before him in a blush colored wrap dress white flowers printed on it. The cap sleeves showed off her arms while the hem line hit just at her knee showing off her legs. The heels were the same blush as the dress and put her eye to eye with him.
"Wow," Andy ran a hand through his hair. "You look . . . Wow."
"Thank you. You look pretty good yourself." Sharon smiled and handed him a box. "I got you this."
"I didn't know we were doing gifts." He frowned. "I would have brought you flowers."
"It's more of a gift for the bride then you." Sharon smiled lifting the lid off the box revealing a blush tie. "It's one of the wedding colors and it matches my dress."
"I love it." Andy grinned pulling the tie from the box. Sharon took the the box so he could put it on. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." She took the tie he had been wearing and folded it placing it in the box.
Once the tie was in place, Andy held out his arm.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Yes." Sharon took his arm and they headed for the elevator.
