The man still had that unsettling smile on his face and slowly approached the front of the porch the house. He was a prideful and arrogant looking individual. One who moved as if he had no weakness. As if he never had to worry about anything or anyone stopping him. He was very well dressed but something about him seemed almost rotten. As if he were somehow decaying even though he was alive.

"Aaron, Carrie, go inside." Alastor told the children cautiously. "Go find your mother."

The kids did as they were told and Alastor prepared to dismiss the strange man.

"You know sir I don't mean to be rude but I have had enough of door to door salesmen if you don't mind."

"Oh no I'm not a salesman." The man said. "Allow me to introduce myself, Iblis Danvers. I'm new to the area and I thought that I would try to make myself friendly with my new neighbors."

"Well here's a piece of advice for the future. Most people don't think it's very friendly for strangers to approach their children without a trusted adult." Alastor said.

"Oh I apologize. I didn't mean to cause any alarm. You see I lost my daughter years ago and your little girl reminds me so much of her."

"Oh." Alastor said in a tone expressing sympathy. "I'm sorry for your loss and I can understand your behavior but still I think it would be best if you kept your distance from my kids. At least when my wife and I aren't with them."

"Ah yes your...Your wife." Iblis almost looked like he could choke. "Your daughter must take after your wife a great deal. I don't really see any of you in her and judging by how adorable the child is, her mother must be a very beautiful woman. In fact I'd like to meet your wife if you don't mind."

"I don't think now would be a good time. We're very busy with something at the moment so if you'll excuse me."

Alastor started to go inside the house and close the door but Iblis placed his foot in the doorway to stop him.

"You know you look like you might be in some trouble." He said.

"Oh no, no, no." Alastor said. "No everything is fine. We're just trying to help some visiting relatives get settled in."

The man chuckled.

"Telling lies Alastor, tsk-tsk. What would your mother think? Don't you remember how much she hates lies?"

Alastor looked at Iblis completely spooked with the revelation that this stranger not only knew his name but also something about his mother.

"How do you know my name?" Alastor asked him.

"Oh I know much more than that. I know that ever since you were a little boy you've always tried so hard not to get angry. Because when you get angry you turn into something bad don't you?" He continued. "You're so afraid of what's deep inside of you that you've turned yourself into a pitiful coward that everyone walks all over."

Alastor's body trembled without him knowing. Iblis's grin spread as he sensed the poor man's fear rise.

"How...How do you know that?" Alastor shuddered. "How could you possibly know all that?"

"Because I'm smart." He said pointing to his head. "Smart enough to know exactly what you are and what you feel deep down. Now let's be honest with ourselves, shall we? You can't really protect your family. If you could then you wouldn't need to call these people. You're too weak, too helpless, too afraid. But I can help you."

At the moment Alastor was hearing two inner voices talking to him. One that told him that he should just ignore this man and slam the door shut right now, that he was obviously being baited. But the other voice told him to hear the man out, that maybe he did have something.

"How could you help me?" Alastor asked.

"What if I told you that I could protect your family?" Iblis said. "I could see to it that they would always be safe so you would never worry about your fear or your anger getting in the way."

"You...You could really do that?"

"Yes. All you have to do is let me in. Let me in and I'll take away all your worries."

Alastor found himself caught in the very strong and powerful pull of temptation. The offer of an insurance policy that would keep his family forever safe without him never needing to rely on fear or anger was a great one. One that was very hard to ignore. One that Alastor was certain he couldn't resist taking.

"Let me in." Iblis repeated.

Alastor's hand moved to open the door.

"Daddy."

His hand was inches from the knob when Carrie stopped him by putting her tiny hand over his. He turned his gaze from Iblis to his daughter who was shaking her head and looking very worried for him.

"Now! Before it's too late!" Iblis ordered upon sensing his influence on Alastor weaken.

But Carrie's gentle touch of love was enough to bring her father back to his senses. He immediately used one hand to pull Carrie from the doorway while he used the other to close the door.

"Don't resist me!" Iblis's friendly facade was dropped almost instantly. "You can't resist me!"

"Just watch me!" Alastor slammed the door in his face and locked it.

"You're gonna die in there! All of you!" They heard Iblis shout from the other side. "You are gonna die!"

"Get the hell out of here!" Alastor demanded. "Don't ever come back! And stay away from my family!"

There was no response that time. Iblis just walked away in a really slow manner and Alastor didn't stop watching him from the window until he was gone.

"Daddy." Carrie said. "He's not coming back, right Daddy?"

He bent down and picked up Carrie, hugging her close to him.

"It's alright Princess." He assured with a soothing back rub. "If he does come back Daddy's not going to let him get you. Daddy's not going to let him get you or Aaron or Mommy. Daddy's going to keep you all safe."

"He came to my school."

"What?"

"Yesterday he came to my school and he tried to get me to go with him. But I didn't. You tell me never to go anywhere with strangers so I waited for Aaron. But I knew he'd come back. I just knew."

This made Alastor more worried. Just how many times had this man approached his children? And why was he so interested in them? He took Carrie into the living room where he told Charlie and the investigators about the man.

"A man has been stalking the kids?" Charlie said. "And he was here?"

"He's gone now." Alastor told her. "I don't know if he'll come back but I'm taking no chances."

"What did this man look like?" Vaggie asked.

"It's hard to explain. He looked like he was in his late thirties to early forties, he was dressed in expensive clothes but I got the feeling that he was very sickly."

"Sickly how? Did he have yellow teeth? Pink eyes? Desiccated skin?"

"No. He looked normal but I just got the sense that he wasn't very healthy."

"Hey Vaggie take a look at this." Angel said showing a device to her that was making a beeping sound. "The monitor picked up some major paranormal activity just now."

"Really?" She looking over the screen of the device. "Hmm...I think we may have found our haunting party."

"He didn't look like a ghost or a spirit to me." Alastor said. "In fact he appeared to be very alive."

"Not all paranormal beings look the part of an undead monstrosity." Vaggie explained. "In fact a lot of them looked exactly how they did in life. We have footage of such cases. Allow me to demonstrate. Angel will you hand me tape five please?"

Angel gave her a videotape and then she had the family sit down in the living room. She turned on the TV and placed the tape inside the video player.

"Be advised, this video may have some frightening material."

She hit the play button and the video started playing. What was shown on the TV were two figures completely covered by blankets and moving around in bed.

"Oh Angel." A voice moaned in lustful pleasure.

"Oh Vaggie." A second voice moaned in lustful pleasure as well.

"Oh God!" Charlie cried.

She and her husband instantly covered the eyes of their children while Vaggie and Angel turned blood red in the face with horror and embarrassment.

"Angel I said tape five!" Vaggie screamed as she desperately tried to cut off the tape.

"I did give you tape five!" He replied.

"No this is tape nine you idiot! You mixed up the labels again, didn't you?!"

"Sorry! All the video tapes look the same! How can I not get them mixed up?"

"Angel I'm gonna kill you for this!"

"What's going on?" Aaron asked. "Dad get off, I wanna see the ghosts."

"Mommy why is it dark?" Carrie asked.

"Because you and your brother are much too little to be seeing this." Charlie said.

"Seeing what?"

"Uh...Really scary ghosts." Alastor said. "Ghosts so scary that you'll never sleep again after you see them."

Vaggie finally managed to stop shaking enough to hit the eject button and take the tape out.

"I am so sorry about that." Vaggie said. "Why don't we move on to something else and forget this was ever seen? Heh, heh."
