***Apologies for the short update but I'm still not feeling very well. I'm healing slowly and can't seem to get all of my energy back. This story will pick up the pace soon, I promise. If you want something else that is terrific to read, I highly recommend Glimpses - its currently my favorite Rogan fanfic. xoxo ***

Twenty minutes later, Logan met a delivery driver at the hospital's main entrance. Rory's breakfast order got there in record time. She was hungry and awake, so he was going to get her anything and everything she asked for. Logan sat on the chair next to her bed while she scarfed down an obscene amount of breakfast foods. At one point, Rory caught Logan staring at her while she munched on a strip of bacon. "What?" she asked him.

Logan smiled at her and shook his head. "Nothing. I'm so happy to see you awake and eating like a linebacker again."

Rory smirked at him and said, "Um, excuse me? I believe 'medical marvel' is the term you're looking for?"

Logan nodded, "Sure. Whatever you want," he said as he smirked back at her.

Amanda walked in and greeted them both. "So, how are you?"

Rory raised her eyebrows and said, "Well, you tell me. How am I?"

Amanda grinned, "Well, I don't see any reason for you to be in ICU any longer. Your scans and labs are all coming back perfect. What if we move you to a regular room now that you're improving?"

Rory nodded, "I've always been a good test taker. That sounds right."

Logan asked, "She was also asking about a shower and normal pajamas. Can we make some of that happen too?"

Amanda nodded, "Sure. Once you get to your room, a nurse will help you with a shower. But you might want to keep the gown on. It has the snaps here," she gestured to the arm of the gown "so that we can access your IV. Sometimes fluids leak and get gross. I always advise patients wait for the cute pajamas until they don't have anymore lines. If you suddenly need a new line and I have to cut off something from La Perla, I feel bad and it's a whole thing…. You know?"

Rory shrugged, "I guess so. How much longer do you think I might be here?"

Logan smiled, "Ace, you were unconscious an hour ago. Let's slow down a little."

Rory gave an elaborate sigh. "Fine!" She rolled her eyes at him so that he knew she was joking.

Twelve hours later, Rory was in her private room upstairs, visiting hours were over and she was wearing her ring again. All of her lines had been removed and her nurse was able to disconnect her IV so that she could shower. Logan hung out on the couch in the hospital room while waiting for Rory. He wanted to be close enough in case someone needed him. What if Rory fell? What if she got dizzy or weak from being out for so long? He was terrified. So, he waited quietly while checking emails on his phone.

Logan had an uncomfortable call with Christopher earlier in the day. Rory's phone had been lost in the accident, so Logan had Finn bring over a new phone for her. Rory practically lived out of her phone so he knew she would be happier with it than without it. Once he had her new phone and downloaded everything from iCloud, he decided to call Christopher. He figured – hoped – that he would answer a call from Rory's number. Finally, Christopher did answer, and he was shocked to hear Logan on the other end of the line. Logan quickly opened with "Rory's okay, but there's something you need to know….." He told him the whole story and before they hung up, Chris was on his way to Hartford. He left out the engaged and expecting part, as he thought Rory deserved to tell her father the good news. Gigi wasn't around as she was visiting her mother in Europe for a while, so it was easy to get in the car and drive to check on Rory. The entire time Christopher was at the hospital, he and Lorelai never spoke to each other nor made eye contact. They each acted like the other person didn't exist. Even Luke was cordial to Christopher, but Lorelai just refused. Logan knew that there was more to the story, but he chose to figure it out later. He did notice that after they announced the baby news, Lorelai called Luke "Grandpa Luke." Logan almost felt she was implying that Luke and only Luke was going to be the baby's grandfather. He didn't much care if she was referring to Mitchum or not. Mitchum had a big enough personality that even Lorelai wasn't going to deny him a chance to be a grandpa to his grandchild. But Logan was curious about why she was so dismissive to Chris. Something obviously happened between them. He had suspicions, but those were questions for another day.

Chris also grabbed a room at the hotel down the street. Now that Rory was awake and doing much better, Mitchum visited but went to his own home and office. Even still, he checked in with Logan often and made sure they had everything they needed. Shira had been informed and suddenly ended up in a 'spa' in Switzerland. 'Spa' was the term they used for 'plastic surgery clinic and recovery center' but this was nothing new in the Huntzberger family. Honor had also been to visit along with everyone else. People were beginning to return to their own homes and lives now that Rory was no longer teetering on the brink. Logan never actually made it over to the hotel. He remained at the hospital until Rory woke up and then never left her.

Shortly afterwards, Rory emerged from the bathroom in a clean gown and was situated in her hospital bed. Logan also had a quick shower and was now relaxing on the couch in sweatpants and a t-shirt. After they ate dinner, Paris stopped by to check on her one more time before leaving for the night. The two women were laughing and joking about something while Logan enjoyed watching Rory smile from across the room.

A few minutes later, the door opened a crack and Colin and Finn slipped in. Colin brought Rory a gigantic gift basket of junk food and Finn brought her more flowers – to add to her ever-growing collection of flowers. The flowers had become so plentiful that they were beginning to leave bouquets at the nurse's station and on tables in the waiting room.

Finn winked at Logan and approached Rory and used his famous opening line, "Hello, Love! Have I met you yet?"

Rory replied curtly, "Yes, several times," with a smirk. They hugged and kissed each other on the cheek.

Colin also hugged and kissed Rory. The boys joined Logan on the couch while Paris slipped out of the room for a minute to check on one last patient.

Out of the blue, Colin asked Rory about Paris, "So is she single or…"

Rory nodded, "Yep. As far as I know."

Logan raised an eyebrow as Colin nodded, "Good to know."

Finn raised an invisible glass to Colin, "That is a fine Sheila. You could do a lot worse."

In unison, Rory and Logan said, "And he has….."

"Thanks, guys. Your support is overwhelming." Colin grinned anyway.

The door opened and Paris came back in. She went over to Rory and said, "Okay, I'm going home. If you need anything or anyone treats you like anything less than the Queen of England, you call me, okay?"

Rory nodded, "Will do. Thanks, Paris."

Paris looked over at Logan, "You too, Rockefeller. If she needs anything at all, you call me. Capiche?"

Logan nodded solemnly. "Thank you, Paris."

She was almost at the door and Colin stood up and walked over to her. "Hey, Paris…."

"Yes?" she asked, very business-like.

Colin went for it. "I think you are stunning, scrubs and all. May I take you out for a late dinner?"

Paris looked at him wide-eyed. She was too stunned at his honesty and lack of a pickup line, so she just nodded and said, "Yes. That would be good."

Colin took her hand and they left together without another word to their friends.

After the door shut Logan, Rory, and Finn all exchanged glances and then burst out laughing. Finn finally said, "That was AWESOME. I've never seen him do that before!" He frowned for a minute and said, "Well, I guess they really ARE handing out hot doctors here." He looked over at Rory and asked, "Can I see something in a redhead, perhaps with slightly poor judgement?"

Logan chuckled and Rory said, "Oh, Finny….. Not poor judgement."

Logan was curious and asked, "No?"

"Nah. If you hadn't wised up, Finn was my next stop." She smirked at Logan while she adjusted her position in the uncomfortable hospital bed.

Finn smiled at her and said, "Damn. Always a bridesmaid…"

Rory furrowed her brow and asked them, "Who else got a hot doctor? Did my mom leave with a McDreamy look-a-like or something?"

Logan grinned and said, "No. Jess actually; Dr. Amanda Burks was his parting gift."

"REALLY?!" Rory exclaimed. "That's terrific."

Logan asked her, "Doesn't he live in Philly?"

Rory shook her head. "No. He's mostly in New York now, but since Truncheon expanded, he kinda works out of his laptop and phone. He takes meetings anywhere there is internet. His official residence has been the apartment over the diner for the past few years."

Logan laughed and said, "Finn, did you get a chance to talk with Jess? Rory's COUSIN."

Rory narrowed her eyes at him when he overtly-emphasized 'cousin'. She smirked at him and said, "Enough out of you."

Just then, the door opened, and a nurse came in to check Rory's vitals and apply the ointments and creams to Rory's wounds from the accident. More fluids had also been ordered, so they reconnected her IV. During all of this, Logan and Finn stepped into the hall during her exam.

Finn had a chance to ask Logan, "So…. Are you okay?"

Logan shrugged, "Sure. Why do you ask?"

Finn counted off on his fingers shot back, "Because you guys finally got your shit together, she's the love of your life, she's carrying your baby and oh yeah, this has been scary as fuck."

Logan nodded. "Yeah, I know. But they're okay. She's going to be okay. She's still my Rory. She's still brilliant and beautiful and funny and weird and….." Without warning, tears started streaming down his face.

Finn frowned at his friend and hugged him. "I know. But she's good now," as he lightly patted Logan on the back. "Pretty soon you guys can go home and put all this behind you."

Logan was hearing none of this. He whispered, "Finn, I almost lost her."

This brought Finn to tears too. "We all almost lost her. But we didn't. She's okay."

They stopped hugging and trying to console each other when they burst into laughter. Logan said, "Fuck! How long do you think it's been since we cried together?"

Finn wiped the tears off his face as he said, "I don't know. Probably when Honor had that allergic reaction and we thought she was going to die. I've never been so scared in my whole life."

Logan nodded, "Yeah, we were what? Eight years old?"

Finn smiled and shrugged, "Maybe." He pursed his lips and said, "Logan, you're going to be dad. Not just a father, like we had, but a dad. I can't bloody believe it."

Logan stared at Finn. "Finn? If you ever see me going all 'Mitchum' on this kid, I need to you to call me out. This can't continue for another generation."

Finn chuckled and nodded. "I promise. I'll kill you myself if that happens to my niece or nephew."

As the nurse came out of Rory's room, Finn said good night and Logan went to keep Rory company for the night.
