Jack did find himself almost banned from China one time, although that one was totally his fault. It would have been just in principle, since both he and the one who banned him knew he would still be required to bring winter to the high mountains and desert, but damaging their Great Wall was big enough to bring on even an empty threat that large.

This had also happened in his first few years of being the winter spirit, so he didn't feel too embarrassed by it anymore. At the time, being knocked off course by a high pressure system was mortifying though. It had sent him tumbling with enough force to knock him several hundred miles south, sending shots of ice from his wooden staff as he swirled around uncontrollably. One of these happened to hit the Great Wall of China as he tried to land.

A strong hand unexpectedly gripped his ankle as he went over the edge of the stone structure, and while he was thankful that it stopped his motion, hanging upside down off the ledge of the Great Wall wasn't exactly fun either.

"Are you stupid? Don't you know this place is guarded?" The person holding onto him did not sound happy. Jack wished he could just fall.

"I didn't mean too! I'm just crap at riding the wind and some warmer temperatures made me go all over the place."

"You don't say." He could practically hear the smirk in their words. "Well, up you go."

Jack yelped in surprise as he was swung and tossed up over the ledge. He tried glaring in offense as he gained his footing on the stone surface. "Thanks," he said in a deadpan voice.

His savior raised an eyebrow at him in amusement. "You're a young one, aren't you?" She laughed at his grimace. "You're welcome. Are you a winter sprite?"

Jack sighed. "Spirit. Sprites are tiny." He shrugged. "I'm Jack Frost. The Moon made me. That's about it."

The woman frowned. "That's interesting. Well, Jack Frost, welcome to China. I am Hua Mulan, guardian of Zhong Guรณ, protector of the Wall, spirit of the hua ren, and I am very displeased that you have damaged our barrier."

Well shit.

In reality, it ended up alright. Hua Mulan sat him down for a cup of tea and a chat, and he was welcome to come back any time to visit... as long as it wasn't summer. It would do no good to have her beloved wall damaged after so many years by a stray ice bolt in July.
